Thank you to all 450+ people who entered to win the Nexadyne microphone. The winner is: @MichaelPascoe, please respond here so I know you saw it, and I'll get that to you. Thanks everyone who entered! If you do want to find out more about the microphone, here is a great video on how well the bleed works: ua-cam.com/video/WYlYExcZ-GM/v-deo.htmlsi=ZBnGwwPUwVGCe8qD Also, Shure did a livestream recently that goes over more details and some more tone comparisons to other mics as well (although I do think this mic truly shines live the most). You can check it out here: ua-cam.com/users/livejM55DACaJjs?si=lwgOiI7q6p-A33Re
What a great mic! It's like having a Dua Lipa! I've used Shure SM57, SM58, and Beta58 mics for over 40 years. I've tried EV and Sennheiser wireless. The Sennheiser had a noticeable "compander noise" at the beginning of saying "one" into the mic. Shure did not. I have had excellent results for DJ work with the Audio Technica 3000 series microphones. But for singing, it's always been sure.
I recently bought my first mic, an SM-57, to use with an HX Stomp XL. I added an impedance transformer and it works very nicely. Dua Lipa sent me to check out the Nexadyne, and it sounds like a clear winner for live performances.
I have been really impressed with everything I have seen about this Nexadyne mic...... Dua Lipa ..... I can't wait to get my hands on one or a few for use in live gigs.
Oh man, Scott you’re a lifesaver. Your videos are extremely helpful. Thank you! Oh and I’m also glad you reviewed this mic. I’m a big Dua Lipa fan and so is my daughter! Keep making videos, please!
Thanks for all the detailed videos man! I've learned a lot about wireless frequencies here. Just recently watched Dua Lipa on SNL and her time square performance. Good stuff!
Nice, I don’t sing, but I am fortunate to have my brother pop in, my kitchen is my favourite spot for playing, good luck to all, and thx for your cool tech vibes, much appreciated Sir!
I'm literally in the same boat. I've been using Beta87 capsules for my QLXD systems. I'm hoping switching to the Nexadyne/Super Cardoid will reduce the stage bleed. I have a loud band and even with IEM's it's hard to hear the vocals over all of the drums and bass that is bleeding through the mics. Great video!! Thank you!
Thanks for a review of a legitimately exciting new Shure product! I’m hoping they release these in a dual SLX-D kit - that would be my ideal setup and a decent upgrade from my two PGX-D b58s that are still working well on 900mhz and with alkaline batteries, which are definitely a gig saver if stuff isn’t charged (and you don’t want to use wired backups). My wife isn’t into Dua Lipa, but I’m a pretty big fan - love jamming along to those bass lines at night.
Dua Lipa! I'm not huge on the "revonic" marketing, but "dual motor" does pretty much make sense, noise cancelling on headphones works in a similar way. Pretty cool that they made it work well in a simple Dynamic mic format.
These microphones seem awesome! I've been battling the bleed in my rehearsal space, I bet this would help. Dub Lipa has been bringing the absolute heat in the pop world!
Great video Scott! I have been swearing by the Audio-Technica AE3300 condenser for some years now (learned about it from Richie Castellano). However - this seems like a great alternative that won't bleed in as much as my condenser does, especially in a small rehearsal room with live drums. Also, Dua Lipa.
I love the low end on the mic, clarity is exceptional too WOW, I own an EV ND96 that is a nice mic, but doesn't reject much stage bleed, I will certainly be looking into purchasing this mic in the near future, and maybe Dua Lipa should do the same LOL! Thanks, Scott always awesome reviews and very convincing!
Replay!! I saw this release and took a bit to find out where this mic and tech falls in their product line. Just bought a wired KSM8 as my main mic and loving it so far. My other go to us Sennheiser E945 and love how it sounds.
Hi Scott, I fell in love with the Shure Sm7db for my studio too. I wonder which Nexadyne model would be best to reject picking up my own guitar (which confuses my harmonizer) Does Dua Lipa use it?
Wow, what a great mic! Nicely reviewed, too. I really appreciate the level of detail you give, Scott. As an SM58 user, I can definitely see the value in upgrading to something like this. I'll have to give the Dua Lipa album a listen.
I’ve been planning on giving my self a nice wireless microphone for christmas and I had my eye on the shure you were using. Now I’ll be jumping right into this anti-bleed baby. Like Dua Lipa said "I might just give you a bite of the sweetest pie"
In addition to the polar pickup patterns, it seems the cardioid sounds a little more natural than the super cardioid. And the super cardioid’s tone seems to poke through a little more.
DUA LIPA!!!! The Telefunken m80 is very similar to this. It has extreme off axis rejection. It could be a blessing and a curse. Good for stage bleed and feedback control, but the singer has to basically eat the microphone all the time. As soon as they back off or sing from the side the signal disappears immediately . Your forced to gain the mic up which pretty much defeats the point of it. Does this mic have that similar caveat?
Was thinking the same. I’ve been considering the Sm7b or Sm7dB for my 1st home studio (untreated room). If you had to chose, would you go with the Sm7dB or the Nexadyne? Wife also sings live so it would be a win/win if I could use the same mic.
The PA for the derby event was pretty inadequate but your vocals (raps especially) came through perfectly clear. I've been hoping to hear these in action and realize now I already have. Very cool. Thanks for the vid and Dua Lipa recommendation.
Just yesterday I was thinking of upgrading my SM58 due to the amount of stage bleed I suffer during live performances. I guess Big Brother heard and recommended this video. Your voice is no much more present when compared to the SM58. First came across your channel when looking for a budget IEM system. Thanks for you insights. I will definitely give Dua Lipa a listen.
Been slowly purchasing gear for my band to start using live so videos like this are super helpful for picking out gear that might suit our needs. Dua Lipa is not really my cup of tea but I can appreciate a well done mix when i hear one ✌️
I would love to see you compare this mic with the SM58 with both mics placed on the guitar of a singer songwriter and show us how much vocal bleed are picked up by each mic. Additional points if you cover dua lippa.
Looks pretty interesting and I never got to looking at user swaps of cartridges on handsets before and should lookup how Shure handles the wiring (solder?) I also love Dua Lipa's production quality and gig a few of her songs as well. Dance-floor gold :)
I appreciate your informative videos. Useful info that's sensibly arranged and thorough without being boring. Well done, Dua Lipa. Scott, your videos are pretty good too!😀
Thank you, again, Scott!! You always give us great information. I currently use a Sennheiser e945 and it's been good, but I'd love to upgrade to something that can help reduce stage noise. Dua Lipa
Excellent review - as always Scott. This might be the capsule upgrade I’ve been waiting for! I’ve just downloaded Dua Lipa’s latest album, Radical Optimism.
I hope you can make a stage bleed comparison putting this one side by side to other dynamic mic to understand it a little bit better… maybe you can prepare the mixer for both mics and then sing one song with one and the other song with the other mic. That is funny is that by the end of the video I got a Dua Lipa ad xD
Crazy how this dual diaphragm technology preceded the Unidyne and SM58 eras. At the time, the single diaphragm was lauded as a step forward. Today we are excited about two diaphragms again. The more things change, the more they stay the same. 🙂
This is a cool mic! I love the idea of the extra clarity while simultaneously rejecting outside noise as much as possible. This is always a problem with lead singers who are typically in front of the drums. If ever I multitrack record a show and solo the lead singer vocal channel, it’s just nothing but cymbal and drum bleed almost as loud as the vocals. I usually tell sound guys that they are probably not going to have to use the overhead mics on the drums because the bleed from the lead singer’s mic is going to be so ridiculous 😂 Of course we are talking about relatively small stages too, but I’m guessing that’s the struggle most of us are going to be going through. This is probably never a problem for Dua Lipa as the stages are so big and probably a lot of music is already canned 😂 Great video Scott!

Congratulations @michaelpascoe !
These giveaways are getting better everytime, congrats to the winner 🙌
Please give me it. I'm in Vietnam
Soooo… Michael…. How much do you want for the mic 🎤? 🥲😂 jk enjoy!!!!
Wait . But actually, Scott, do you have any mics for sale? 😂
You’re the hardest working musician I’ve come across. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you 🙏
I've never been to Dua Lipa but the Burning Man that I did had the opportunity to go to was life changing event for me.
DUA LIPA! lets go this might be the one for my new vocal chain in my ableton performance set up! thanks for the review!
Boy, once again. Delivered right on midnight! 😀
😂😂 just for you 🤘🤘
I can go to bed early now.
Great info dua lipa
I have been really impressed with everything I have seen about this Nexadyne mic...... Dua Lipa ..... I can't wait to get my hands on one or a few for use in live gigs.
What’s better than a single Lipa? A Dua Lipa…
Terrible joke real answer is no lipa
Dia lupa
Thanks again. You continue to help me improve my equipment and help me sound better and have better gigs.
Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa is invited to my BBQ.
Excellent review, thanks Scott! I betcha Dua Lipa loves this new Shure microphone!!
Just ordered my first Nexadyne 8c. Dua Lipa Loves it, Im sure I will as well. Thanks for the great informative vid Scott.
Oh man, Scott you’re a lifesaver. Your videos are extremely helpful. Thank you! Oh and I’m also glad you reviewed this mic. I’m a big Dua Lipa fan and so is my daughter! Keep making videos, please!
Thank you! 🙏
Thanks for all the detailed videos man! I've learned a lot about wireless frequencies here. Just recently watched Dua Lipa on SNL and her time square performance. Good stuff!
Thanks! And yeah, she killed it for those performances!
Great review, and plenty of gig examples. Very helpful. Saving to add wireless now. Dua Lipa for the win.
Either one sounds really good, great video Scott…Dua Lipa what a voice 😍
Great video - would love a comparison with a beta 58 and an SM58. But the idea of less cymbal mics (ie vocal mics in front of the drums) is great!
Thanks Scott! I love your style of explaining / teaching. Dua Lipa would be proud as well!
I really liked this Shure mic! Dua Lipa is awsome!
Nice, I don’t sing, but I am fortunate to have my brother pop in, my kitchen is my favourite spot for playing, good luck to all, and thx for your cool tech vibes, much appreciated Sir!

I have a loud band and even with IEM's it's hard to hear the vocals over all of the drums and bass that is bleeding through the mics. Great video!! Thank you!
Nice! Yeah I haven’t looked back since switching from the beta 87!
I like the advantages of a supercardioid and am glad to see that its available on this. The dual transducer is a great idea. Dua Lipa!
Yup! Although it still does a great job with stage bleed with the Cardiod, I wanted that little extra with the super cardioid 🤘
DUA LIPA!!! Enough said. Great taste and great review as always, brother!!
Dua Lipa!! this mic seems like a perfect fit. You’re content has been a huge help for me as i have been transitioning to full time music
Nice! Welcome to the world of full time musician 🤘 Be sure to have Don’t Stop Believing and Uptown Funk ready to go at all times 😅😅😅
Never heard of Dua Lipa but always appreciate the reviews
These sound really sick and super useful! Dua Lipa
Hey Scott, thanks for the video. Very helpful! Dua Lipa
Love the new review. Interested in these new mics. Dua Lipa!
Great video as always Scott been thinking about a change of mic and this seems to fit the bill. I love Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa, Dua Lipa, Dua Lipa let me go!
Three Dua’s for the price of one.
Thanks Scott. Great content, as always.
I like the way Dua Lipa sounds! Thanks for the review Scott, always enjoy them!!
Dua Lipa! I'm not huge on the "revonic" marketing, but "dual motor" does pretty much make sense, noise cancelling on headphones works in a similar way. Pretty cool that they made it work well in a simple Dynamic mic format.
Im going to put my earphones on and jam to Dual Lipa. Thanks Scott for all your videos.
Great review! I love seeing the continuous advances in audio technology. Dua Lipa living in the golden age!
These microphones seem awesome! I've been battling the bleed in my rehearsal space, I bet this would help. Dub Lipa has been bringing the absolute heat in the pop world!
Yes, this would definitely help!
Another great video Scott. Thanks to you Midi is no longer a mystery and my HX Stomp is actually useful!!! Dua Lipa! Keep up the good work!
Nice!! I’m glad to hear that 😁😁
Another great video! Detailed, and informative!
Am levitating - Dua Lipa
I digs Dua Lupa, I notice her ever since she did that joint with Elton John. Btw great vids, keep up the great work.
Great job as always Scott! In fact this could be a real game-changer. Now I gotta go... I have some drums to record for Dua Lipa.
I never heard of Dualipa those mics are really cool
The contests are rolling out this week! I really like that Dua Lipa album as well. It's got some pop disco vibes that get my head boppin'
Double contests to make up for my recent lack of them 💪
I love the low end on the mic, clarity is exceptional too WOW, I own an EV ND96 that is a nice mic, but doesn't reject much stage bleed, I will certainly be looking into purchasing this mic in the near future, and maybe Dua Lipa should do the same LOL!

Awesome review as usual. Going to have to get a couple of capsules for our SLX-D rig. Dua Lipa would love it.
Thank you! Hope this helps you out 🤘
I’ve been planning on giving my self a nice wireless microphone for christmas and I had my eye on the shure you were using. Now I’ll be jumping right into this anti-bleed baby. Like Dua Lipa said "I might just give you a bite of the sweetest pie"
This microfon would be great addition for our worship group. Dua Lipa!
Even though this mic is new, I've been looking everywhere for information! This was a great review. The Dua Lipa of reviewers, one could say!
Glad it was helpful!
In addition to the polar pickup patterns, it seems the cardioid sounds a little more natural than the super cardioid. And the super cardioid’s tone seems to poke through a little more.
Great review on this mic duo, Dua Lipa would love these as well!
Another great video Scott. And I actually reality enjoy Dua Lipa music !
Dua Lipa!!!
Definitely been digging the new album too
Those producers are geniuses with their sound engineering
They really are!
I’d love to try out this mic less drum bleed is always a goal. Keep up the great reviews. Dua Lipa !
DUA LIPA!!!!

I didn’t notice it. With a super cardioid you do have to be more on the mic. But I was able to hear myself just fine with my harmonies
Hi Scott. Great review and explanation as usual. Thanks for continuing to do good quality work.
Dua Lipa!
I think this microphone sounds better or almost as natural as the shure sm7b and is lighter. It is a hit of hits. This new technology is the future.
🤘🤘🤘
Was thinking the same. I’ve been considering the Sm7b or Sm7dB for my 1st home studio (untreated room). If you had to chose, would you go with the Sm7dB or the Nexadyne? Wife also sings live so it would be a win/win if I could use the same mic.
@@agenxphyte for studio? I love my Sm7db for studio. For live I love the Nexadyne. That’s my personal preference 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic🙏 any other other mic in that price range apart from the Sm7dB for an unatreated home studio or is the Sm7dB a safe bet?
@@agenxphyte I have a video coming out on the MV7+ this week as well 👍
Thanks Scott for the channel and reviews. It's super helpful when buying new gear!! Dua Lipa ...
Sounds great man, even Dua Lipa would love that crisp noise!
The PA for the derby event was pretty inadequate but your vocals (raps especially) came through perfectly clear. I've been hoping to hear these in action and realize now I already have. Very cool. Thanks for the vid and Dua Lipa recommendation.
Thanks man! Glad to hear that from someone who was at the event 🤘🤘
Hahaha the always-listening-devices we have sometimes are worth it 😅
Very Cool. Could use that we get tons of Drum bleeds using the 58. Due Lipa
I checked out Dua Lipa thanks to your suggestion! Great review Scott. All black microphone is stealthy but seems easy to misplace in dark venues!
Thanks for watching!
Another great one, Scott. Looks like an awesome mic from Shure even if it won't make me sound like Dua Lipa
Thanks for a great review Scott. Very helpful stuff even Dua Lipa would agree.
Been slowly purchasing gear for my band to start using live so videos like this are super helpful for picking out gear that might suit our needs. Dua Lipa is not really my cup of tea but I can appreciate a well done mix when i hear one ✌️
Thank you! Glad the videos have helped you out
I would love to see you compare this mic with the SM58 with both mics placed on the guitar of a singer songwriter and show us how much vocal bleed are picked up by each mic. Additional points if you cover dua lippa.
That would be a good test!
Great Video! Just switched to V7, but still hate Drum bleed. May have to upgrade! Dua Lipa
Looks pretty interesting and I never got to looking at user swaps of cartridges on handsets before and should lookup how Shure handles the wiring (solder?) I also love Dua Lipa's production quality and gig a few of her songs as well. Dance-floor gold :)
Thanks for the great product information. I am seriously looking at the wireless in-ear system you reviewed recently. Oh, and Dua Lipa! 😉
Very interested in this new mic from Shure. My current go-to on stage is an SM-57 Beta. I think Dua Lipa would approve.
I agree Scott, The latest album by Dua Lipa is excellent and an update from my old SM58 would be amazing to say the least.
Great review! Peace, Love & Donny Osmond!!... I mean't Dua Lipa.
Thanks for another great gear review, Scott!
Thank you 🙏
Great video on this new Shure microphone, very informative especially when used in live situations and hope to hear you soon on a Dua Lipa cover!!!
So it’s a humbucker microphone. Neat.
thx bro... I will be purchasing... love it!
Enjoy!
I appreciate your informative videos. Useful info that's sensibly arranged and thorough without being boring. Well done, Dua Lipa. Scott, your videos are pretty good too!😀
Thank you 🙏
I've always been a big fan of Audix microphones and this one seems like it has the same flavor in a great way. Dua Lipa
Thank you, again, Scott!! You always give us great information. I currently use a Sennheiser e945 and it's been good, but I'd love to upgrade to something that can help reduce stage noise. Dua Lipa
Thanks Scott. Love the useful video as ever. The presence boost on that mic seems good from the Dual Dua Lipa Transducers!
It truly is 🤘
Thank you, Scott, for this video. Excellent review.. Would love to have this mic... Dual Lipa!
Thank you 🙏
Love your reviews... always unbiased and informative. Never heard of Dua Lipa, will have to check it out.
Thanks so much!
Great mic review!!! Dua Lipa!
I would like to see a side by side comparison of the KSM8 vs Nexadyne...DuoDyne vs Nexadyne.
Excellent review - as always Scott. This might be the capsule upgrade I’ve been waiting for!
I’ve just downloaded Dua Lipa’s latest album, Radical Optimism.
Had to enter because dua lipa was paused on my phone when I started watching UA-cam … great video
It has a great sound, thanks for the cool review Scott, I like that you used it in a bunch of ways to try it out. Dua Lipa !!!
Thanks for watching!
I hope you can make a stage bleed comparison putting this one side by side to other dynamic mic to understand it a little bit better… maybe you can prepare the mixer for both mics and then sing one song with one and the other song with the other mic.

Haha that’s true… life is a circle in many ways
Dua Lipa ...never seen her, but I Shure would love to have the mic!! I'll have to check her music out now that you've mentioned her...
Thanks for the good reviews just bought 2 super cardioid mic in sweet water by this reviews thanks bro
Nice! Enjoy, and thanks for watching 🤘
Another great review of what looks like a fantastic mic, I think Dua Lipa used the same type of mic on the Brits when she was on last month
This is probably never a problem for Dua Lipa as the stages are so big and probably a lot of music is already canned 😂 Great video Scott!
Thank you! And yeah being DIRECTLY in front of the drums is hard for sure, that’s the most challenging
Love the sound of the Shure Nexadyne. Also Dua Lipa was given her first name by her grandmother as it means 'love' in Albanian.
Yup! She mentioned that on SNL 🤘
I’ve heard good things exited to watch this !
