    For the pink noise test, its basically impossible to tell what's going on. You need to record the direct signal from the mic instead of also recording the whole acoustic environment. Great video overall though

    I love my Telefunken M80 + M81 and use them all the time and been doing so for years, but I really like the NEXADYNE 8/S! I'll probably have to order one.... ;-)

    Wedge placement makes a big difference with a cardioid vs super cardioid. The former rejects best at 180 degrees off axis, while a super rejects best with the wedge angled to one side. You seem to get the the same HF feedback with each mic and it's probably caused by the bill on your baseball hat. Try it without the hat. ;)

    Nice shoot out!
    How was the handling noise on the Telefunken M80? They supposedly did a revamp to give the capsule some shock protection a few years ago-- what did you guys notice?

      I also read that some people complained about this, but I have both the older ones and the newer ones and to be honest I don't notice much of a difference.

    I want to sign on wider angle but with less feedback on stage, so S or C?

    Would love to see those Shure mics compared to an Earthworks SR117

      SR117 wont sound all that impressive in a comparison since its a mic that needs to be eq'd. Its a decent quality mic just requires in depth sound production knowledge whereas these other mics already have a sparkliness right out the box

      @@Uurnamu Do you have an SR117? Does it handle the singer being 5-10ft from drums?

      @Uurnamu 2 місяці тому +1

      @@slofty I had it but sold it because I preferred a mic that already comes with that airy sparkliness since I dont know much about eq. Its marketed as a flat mic you can bend to your will. As far as bleed from the drummer, I didnt test it out in such a scenario but there are a few pedals/processors that have noise suppression where if you dial it in high enough it will block out any sound other than the vocals coming into the signal. I use noise suppression on the boss ve 500 and it works perfectly for that. Before I activate it I can hear the crows in the background and my dogs walking all over the house then I dial it to 75+ and it all goes away

    The video is very helpful. I am subscribed from Korea. When comparing m80 and nexadyne, which one do you recommend for R&B vocals?

    shure nexadyne as for an advanced and newest product it is bad, squeaks, feedback. after all it is a modern design. it is weak. why would it squeak like that?!?!! dual coils many systems need more gain power. I do not recommend nexadyne. Ksm8 is definitely better.

    pink noise rejection vs wearing a hat. not a very good combination.
