    I have to say, I moved to australia from UK and when I seen bowdens products around I figured they would be average like mothers for example , I've always stuck to more know brands and more familiar with autogylm/ meguiars / carpro. Once I actually tried a few of their products I was actually blown away how good they were , not only did they perform well but the smells of all their products are unmatched in my opinion, I live in qld and they are made and tested to stand Australia's hot and harsh climate which is peace of mind for sure. I kinda like thole fact the owner didn't sell out and start trying to go global with it, I feel like the quality might slip but overall for general cleaning detailing products they are amazing 👏 my favourite it happy ending , game changer for me

Not only is it worthwhile seeing the winners in these comparison videos (all excellent BTW), before long you get to find out which ones are out to pull a fast one on you, which is equally good fun ;)

    Great review. The sad thing to keep in-mind is that there are always going to be companies whose business model is to go-after the less-informed. Because that group (which is frankly the largest) can be told something is amazing, watch the product suck, and still be led to agree it’s amazing. Just the sad truth.
    The only way to put a dent in that disaster is by educating. This video does its share of that. Thanks, Sandro.

    Hi Sandro!
    Over the last month I have become really invested into the beautiful world of car detailing and have really grown to love and appreciate your videos. Also being from Melbourne, it is particularly helpful when you put AUD prices for products and also cover more readily available products such as NV car care, Bowden's own etc.
    I was wondering if you could advise on your recommendations for topper agents over existing ceramic coating (such as UK3.0 or CQuartz Sic), there does not seem to be much literature/content on what are some good options to use as toppers to use over the highly durable coatings to enhance the slickness/gloss/hydrophobicity and perhaps even minimise waterspotting etc.
    I understand that this is all highly dependent on the type of ceramic coating used and how well these products bond over them, but it seems that very few people have covered a testing/comparison of what is an ideal topper and this would be a very useful video to consider if you are open to suggestions/ideas.
    For example, I am soon applying UK3.0 on one of my cars and a UK3.0 + Sic (as per your recommendation) on my other car, but I am a bit confused as to what is an ideal topper in this situation. i.e. sealant sprays like carpro reload vs ceramic/graphene sprays vs gyeon cancoat (which is somewhere between a ceramic spray detailer and true ceramic coating) vs no topper at all).
    If you could give me your suggestions/advice given your extended experience with UK3.0 coatings, that would be fantastic!

    • @awpdevil
      @awpdevil Рік тому +1

      Carpro Elixir would be a fine topper for you. It's kind of like a mix between their waterless wash and reload.

    • @Theseones
      @Theseones Рік тому +3

      The Base coatings lasts somewhere between 2-4 'effective' years, meaning after the first year, they will start to loose their properites. Something like Gyeon Can Coat Evo should be used as an annual topper, to 'revive' the base coating (gloss and hydrophobicity), since it only lasts up to 12 months. But for normal washes, find a spray wax/sealant that is easy to aquire and relatively cheap to buy, and use it as a drying aid. Do that and your car will always be in top condition.

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    If you know chemistries you know graphene bears no hydrophobicity by itself, even after being chemically modified, it simply does not live up to the academic hype. A monolayer of graphene is very hard to produce en mass (might be possible for electronics where the single sheet truly matters - not for a pain sealant), and also not stable as the individual sheet tend to stack on top of each other. BO likely uses polymer but a very sophisticatedly crafted polymer.
    True Oz they don't bullshit, if they say it works, it works.

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  10 місяців тому +1

      It’s not so much that they won’t be safe to use on glass, it’s that sometimes certain sealants can cause wiper chatter of specific car windshields and their wiper setup - and that can differ from car to car. In some more rare occasions certain sealants can also haze a little particularly in the cold which is a bigger safety issue on car glass - it’s not something I tested with these unfortunately.

Weekly washes using good safe products and safe washing methods with a top sealant applied every now and them is really all that’s needed together with a more inexpensive strip wash once or twice a year - which it sounds like you’ll take it back to the coating installer for that. All I’d add to that is that if see any stronger contaminants like bird poo, lots of bug splatters or heavy water spots, try and get to them sooner than later with a tar remover or water spot remover.

      Yes Armor All is quite popular amongst car owners in Australia though I wouldn’t say it’s all that popular amongst car detailing enthusiasts.

    Sandro, what a great video. May I begin that Armor All and Rain-X SHOULD be embarrassed. It reminded me of your Carnuba test a while back where Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax was abysmal. It's as though some of the "brands" are predatory. As a former business owner and salesman I always believed that a sale is never complete untill the customer purchases it AGAIN...the REPEAT customer IS most valuable. After watching the results here who'd buy the Rain-X and Amor All again?...or even initially?
    It appears that those 2 companies [and others] are riding the trending industry coattails. Evidently they are...right off into the sunset.
    My OCD priorities for my own vehicles is not so much the durability but the "look & shine." Not to divert the fabulous look of the Bowden's but comparatively the other 2 were astonishingly poor.
    Not to mention that the rest of your testing showed the other 2 brands to hold up fair at best. Thank you for honestly letting those products shine...well...one of them.
    I'm from the States and have researched the Bowden brand - seems very solid. Unfortunately not available.
    Again, great vid. Shine on you crazy diamond!

      Thanks mate, really appreciate the kind feedback and thoughtful insights. I think in many cases some brands may not appreciate how far detailing has come in just the past ten years and the massive choice customers now have to pick and choose that certainly wasn’t the case not too long ago.

      @@CarCraftAutoDetailing for sure Sandro! It seems some of these companies have just jumped unto the Ceramic/Graphene hi-tech pool without, as you mentioned, "doing the development and research." It was [not so] glaringly obvious with 2 of those products in your vid. It seems because they have name recognition that's all it takes...shame on them. They should know better. Eventually they will when sales go to hell because of inferior products. Anyways - always enjoy your vids. Shine on you crazy diamond!

      That's been covered extensively on this channel already, and I'm sure will continue to be as new products are brought out. Comparing/discussing the differences between each type is super helpful as it's a question that gets asked repeatedly, and can be rather confusing for a lot of people.
      Not sure if you just misunderstood the video, but it does make a lot of sense and I think the main point was presented pretty well too. Cheers 👍

      Not all graphene products are the same/equal, just like not all ceramic products are the same/equal. For example, Turtlewax graphene spray wax is nowhere near as good as Adam's graphene spray coating, and there's a reason for that, the chemistry is different.
