BRILLIANT VIDEO - I had to shout that mate; this is such a high quality, well curated, narrated, demonstrated and executed piece of media which gives full insight into these products and their applications. The finesse with which you have delivered your rhetoric is outstanding.
That made me sound like a grown up man who speak like that in real life. But it is a really really good video and helped me massively with choosing which one to buy - the guy in Halfords (motoring shop in the UK) didn't have a scooby - and he was picking his nose as I asked his advice, w***ker. Namaste x

I stood there in the store with the liquid wax in one hand, spray in the other. I chose the liquid because it seemed the more traditional application of the two and I simply couldn't wrap my head around the bizzare idea of spraying ceramic wax over a wet surface. I wish i had seen your video beforehand. I'm really surprised how well the spray works! I'll definitely have to go back for the spray and try the layered effect. Thanks for testing this out for us!

I have applied the Ceramic Liquid wax first, then after one day applied the Ceramic spray wax using a damp sponge applicator and doing panel by panel, it gave an outstanding finish, no spraying of water at all, apply leave a few minutes wipe off.

The BEST breakdown comparison video I've seen so far. Bought a new Nissan 2023 and the detailer guy suggested Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax. Since my Nissan was paint sealed protected aready, I used the detalier for now. I used the spray wax on my 2011 Kia Sorento..... and the paint came back life for a twelve year old vehicle. I paid just under $30.00 (🇨🇦)each for both bottles. It's $15-$17 in the U.S. Crazy price difference from these to Australia. Cheers mate...

The key feature with the Mequires products is how easy they are to apply. I can’t comment on durability because I have only just started using the Hybrid Spray Ceramic. In the few weeks I would have to compare it against the other product I have used on one of our vehicles. The Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic was applied last Summer. I prepared the vehicle’s surface by spray foaming it, then clay barring it, followed by a wash, then a compound then polishing and a coat of lightly applied TW Hybrid Ceramic. 24 hours later I rinsed off 5he vehicle ( it hadn’t been driven and was under a carport ) to remove any dust and applied a 2nd coating. With a simple foaming a wash and dry, the vehicle looked great until I reapplied it he TW again this Spring following 5he same procedures. Lots of work but amazing results. The rain beaded amazingly for over 8 months. The shine didn’t diminish much if at all ( it still looked better after the winter than the vehicle looked without the TW step in the past. I’d have to say the Mequires Hybrid Ceramic spray looks pretty much as good as the TW ( 2-3 weeks so far ) and after an overnight rain and driving 50-80 km/hr. the water beads just slid easily off the body panels. I have two coats of the Megs Spray, the 1st applied semi dry and 5he second applied after a wash and rinse but rubbed onto the surface, rinsed and then dried. It’s late July so we’ll see how it holds up this winter. I will reapply again every other wash just because it’s so quick and easy. By the way you posted the prices, in Australian dollars??? Here in Canada, I paid $18 for the Meg. Hybrid ceramic spray. You guys are getting ripped off! I don’t think the Canadian dollar is any higher than the Aussie buck.

Wow this video came at the perfect time for me! You are the most complete detailing UA-cam channel for sure! I ordered the Liquid Wax but I was worried about applying it after paint correction because I want to get my car wrapped soon so was worried about the vinyl adhesion to an Si02 sealant. So actually seeing it not being great at chemical resistance is exactly what I need because I can remove the sealant before wrapping easily!

I did a full stripping with meguiar's iron remover (it is alcohol-based, so I assume it removed any residual waxes). Then I used their clay bar and regular quick detailer to clay the paint. Then I did a paint correction with Meguiar's liquid compound and then ultimate polish using their dual-action polisher. Then I applied their ultimate liquid wax, which I believe is a sealent, using the DA polisher. Then I applied a coat of the hybrid ceramic liquid wax with the DA, letting it cure overnight. Then I applied two hand coatings of the hybrid ceramic liquid wax, letting each cure overnight before applying the next. And now, whenever I rinse my car with the power washer, I rinse, spray on a few sprays of the hybrid ceramic spray wax on each panel, and rinse again. Then dry with a microfiber drying towel. It seems this method has provided perpetual protection and insane hydrophobicity. It has been about three months, and their is no change at all to the water behavior or gloss level.
Given your findings, when I have time, I will apply a coating of the hybrid ceramic spray by hand when the car is completely dry. I believe that will carry me through the winter. The winter road conditions in NY are very harsh--tons of salt, slush, a lot of rain also in the winters here. That will be the true test, as I will not be applying any fresh dry coats during the winter since it will be too cold, and I won't have time (have to work 70 hours per week and will not have any real free time during daylight hours).
I checked with Meguiar's, and they say that the hybrid ceramic products can be used as top coats over their ultimate liquid wax and pretty much any other product. They recommended against using any other products on top of the hybrids, as well, stating it would disrupt the water behavior of the hybrids.

  • @jackdawson3276
    @jackdawson3276 Рік тому +2

Key is frequency. I am not going to apply liquid wax every time I wash. However, I WILL use the spray and rinse technique every single time I wash. I do agree, you should apply the first coat of the hybrid spray wax on a dry car. I used a damp towel then buff with a dry one. I apply the spray hybrid wax on a dry car every 6 months as a refresher. Maguiars says its critical to do the rinse application or at least rinse the car again after a dry application. Reason is the carrying agents are hydrophilic and need to be rinsed away. I wash my car every 2 weeks in the summer and once a month in the winter (since its garaged more) The performance of the product is amazing since its so so so easy to apply it very often. So in closing, apply the spray in a dry car once every 6 months and use the spray and rinse technique everytime you wash!

What a treat! I just recently purchased these products to test them on my vehicles, Already started hoarding the detailer spray as they are in high demand and cheaper than the turtle wax ceramic alternatives. One thing though, I used to buy Meguiar's xpress wax and dilute it 1:1 with Meguiar's last touch, the hybrid detailer mixed with last touch leaves lots of streaking and almost feels greasy, ended up tossing that bottle.
If you ever get your hands on the turtle was ceramic stuff, le us know which you think is best.
Glad to see you are still safe and putting out these insanely high quality videos!

I really like your overlay and PIP information that helps clearly demonstrate what you and products are doing.👍🏼 First in class.
The results are what I see on my current daily, except I switched out the Meg's liquid wax with Turtle's Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Polish and Wax applied with a DA Finishing Polish Foam pad. Topped this after 24 hours with dry application of Meg's HWC and then Meg's HCD 24hours again. Nice relaxed weekend job.
It is performing so well I started feeling guilty snow foaming weekly as a waste of set up time and product.
The late heavy rains are doing a self cleaning job.
In all honesty, a standard garden hose nozzle rinse now, followed by a quick 2bucket Meg's Ultimate Wash and Wax weekly, with the HCD drying as an aid is giving stunning deep shine and visual protection.
Brilliant for these cheaper OTC option products.
    Keep up your great tutorials.

I wasn't sure where the other two fell in the product line. I use the blue bottle as a top up after washing. After a hand wash and rinse I walk around the car and put a single spray into the pressure washer stream per area/large panel. Then walk back around to rinse from top down. The initial dry application has a huge effect on appearance. I like it because it's just so easy to top up and takes so little actual product to get the job done.

I tried the hybrid ceramic wax last week. It went on very easily according to instructions. Very nice shine and even seemed to do a good job on the plastic trim. The beading and the sheeting were at least as good as any wax I have used over the years. I did approx. 1,000 km of highway driving in Northern Ontario and managed to kill my share of bugs. I washed the car shortly after returning home and the bug guts came off far easier than anything I have ever used. Just a wash mitt and Meguiar's car wash soap. All in all a great product!

Excellent video. Great testing, thanks for all the time put into this.
I personally use only the Hybrid Ceramic Wax. Quite easy to find here in France, at about 20 Euros, but well worth it because the bottle lasts quite a long time.
I applied it on a well prepared dry surface, buffed it and added a second coat after an hour curing.
Left it to cure overnight before exposing the car to the exterior elements.
Seems to hold quite well in terme of longevity, and really beads well.
As soon as it shows signs of weakness, just spray some on a washed wet car, spread it lightly with a microfiber, pressure rinse it, dry it, and you're good to go.
You get another six months of perfect beading.

I’ve been using the hybrid spray on wax for the past 6 months on a few cars and absolutely love it.. I must say though the instructions on the bottle compared to what I’ve seen some Meguiar’s rep say is abit confusing. I’ve been watching videos on this and yours is excellent. The ones I’ve seen is the Meguiars rep slightly suggest for the spray on wax to be applied dry for the first coating and every coat after that can be applied wet.
After watching your video though it is evident that applying a dry coat first is the best method for durability. Maybe that’s why they only slightly suggest it meaning if you apply it in a wet method on the first coat you’ll have to use it more often and it turn purchase more of it over time.

Love the review sandro as always.
I have been using hybrid ceramix wax for roughly 8 months on 2 vehicles (mine and my partners). After many applications i found that applying onto dry paint was definatly the best option. As it would last longer than just spraying onto wet paint and wiping it off.
I find though when the time comes to wash both cars (usually about 2-3 weeks) the hydrophobic properties are almost completely gone. Untill i do the recomended spray on and rinse off at the end of my wash, then they come back.
As of my last wash i did a complete decontamination of my partners car and a re application onto dry paint. Then i topped it with the ceramic detailer. I found that this time around when i washed the car today it still had 70-80% of the hydrophobic properties still present which i was pleased with.
I just find that by itself the hybrid ceramic wax for an every day driven car that doesnt get much cover and is 90% exposed to the elements the real world resistance isnt much chop.

Hi Sandro. I have used the liquid form (not the spray wax) to test it on my new car which I bought on 12/27/2019. I prepared it with proper decontamination of the paint and expected it to last several months, at least 3, and it only lasted halfway even after following their instructions. Then, I purchased Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic and even after we had in the island the highest Saharian dust record of 305 when the highest recorded was several years ago of 154, I still haven't washed it for 6 months and still can feel the protection and gloss is also still seen because the rain has washed away dirt and dust and still beads like crazy. I was very disappointed with this Meguiars since I use a lot Meguiars D106, D116 and D143 with my customers, besides some of their polish and compound products because they are very accessible in price, available in most vehicle stores and perform very well. Thanks for your review.

Then spray and rinse with the hcw at each wash. I just laid down a coat by itself. Today I did the first maintenance wash over it and then "refreshed" it with the HCW (spray off method) followed by a top coat of Quick detailer. I'm really liking the ease of use of this layering method. Remains to be seen how often I'll have to strip and lay down a fresh base coat though.

Meguiar's, in my country (Portugal), is very expensive.
Even on Amazon (from Spain) it is expensive.
Local retailers increase the price over Amazon on 20% - which is even more expensive.
The brand which I found to be GREAT value for money is NextZett (formely EinsZett).
But, they have not come out with a ceramic solution.
GTechniq has some good products, as well as Yum Car Care.
I have not tried anything from Bilt Hambert, but I am quite anxious to try it out.
But Turtle Wax gets the cake.
For value for money, the Turtle Wax 53142 Hybrid Dry & Shine (Rinse Wax) is the best one I have ever tried.
Simple application: just spray it, and rinse over.
The shine is great, and the slickness is very good. The price is just awesome!
The Turtle Wax 53139 Hybrid Sealant Spray (Hydrophobic Wax) is also very good, and with an acceptable price.
I personally got average results, but I admit my paint was not fully ready to take the product.
The Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Line (both the Turtle Wax 53342 Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wax Spray, and Turtle Wax 53339 Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wet Spray) is a little more expensive - but acceptable. The Black focused ones are VERY expensive, in my opinion - but maybe it is because they are quite recent.
I bought the two Ceramic ones, but have not tested them.

I have only used the HCW from Meguiars, which as it happens has just about run out. I was looking at replacing it with one of their other options, looks like I luckily chose the correct option straight away. Very often it’s £20 in Halfords, good enough for me.
I used the Hybrid Ceramic Wax as the next product of protection after the Turtle Wax Graphene paste had done its bit, both very different applications but similar to identical outcomes ( to my unscientific opinion ). One took a few hours to apply, the other a few minutes, a bit of a no brainer to any busy dads out there.
I am a Megs fan, I have their buckets, Gold Class shampoo, the only product my wife looked at her car and said wow after I cleaned it. The tyre gel is great, and has lasted me ages on our cars ( both with 20” wheels ). I have their wax too, but haven’t gotten around to polishing yet as my polisher has gone awol at present, but a garage spring clean will reveal it 😂
Thanks for taking the effort to produce such a comprehensive test, no mean feat 👏

Would this order make sense for the best protection and finish?
1 - Ceramic Clay Bar Kit
2 - Followed by the Ceramic Liquid wax
3 - Wait an hour or so
4 - Finally finish off with the Ceramic Spray Wax?
I was gifted the entire range by my lovely wife and wanted to know if this would be the best order for a first application?
    Thank you!

Excellent review. I love the ceramic spray wax too, will invest into the ceramic quick detailed for top up cleans. Currently using a quick detailed that takes me 10 minutes to clean car, makes sense to use the ceramic version to maintain the ceramic like finish with investing 30 minutes into applying the liquid spray

Been using the Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax on my 2001 Commodore and it's been great, lasts a while and it's easy to put on. I've been washing the car then while it's wet give it a few sprays then dry the car with a microfibre cloth. Looks and beads awesome. Although after watching this i might try a dry application.

Nice Video Sandro, I have all three of these products plus the M27 Pro Ceramic Sealant. I'am currently stacking M27 Pro Ceramic Sealant as the base and then i top that with the Ceramic liquid wax. I use the ceramic detailer for maintenance and drying aid works really well a little bit goes a long ways as far as the detailer goes. I put it on at the end of may and still have incredible beading. i use the the HCW spray to boost after about 3 months. As i said it has worked really well so far. The M27 Sealant is really easy use nice smell too.

I will now try your suggestion. I've recently tried the Ceramic detailer (green) and although good I didn't think it was as good as the blue bottle. Will now use blue with green in between. Dont even bother with the ceramic detailer (green), best I can tell its gone after the first rain storm.

Great video - I think you nailed it pretty well across the board. This is coming from the guy who helped develop all three of these items :)
The one thing I would add, is that if you establish a base coat once with the HCW, you will find that the spray and rinse method works far better as it tends to bond to itself quite effectively. So the occasional spray and rinse during the wash process ends up being most likely the quickest and easiest method of on-going application. Alternatively, I tend to like using it as a drying aid of sorts with a couple of spritzes of product directly into a microfiber drying towel, then hitting the wet panel, and either flipping to a dry side or using a dry second towel for a final pass.

    • @HeavyProfessor
      @HeavyProfessor 4 роки тому +1

Please see my comment above. I got the most amazing results doing a full paint prep (all meguiars products, including the DA polisher, which is awesome), then the megs ultimate liquid wax, then applying three base coats of the liquid hybrid ceramic version with a day cure time between each, and then using a rinse, spray, rinse method each time I powerwash my car. The gloss and water behavior are insane. It seems that with a really good base coat, the spray and rinse method with the hybrid ceramic spray is extremely effective for touchless washes that maintain the gloss and hydrophobicity.
Informally, I also noticed that, at least with the hybrid ceramic liquid wax, the durability is quite poor on paint that has not been prepped at all. So some people who report poor durability did not prep the paint properly, for sure.

I think the purpose for applying the Spray Wax to wet car, then rimsing is for speed, less effort, less time & convenience...
May Cost a bit more in product, if apply / liberally apply more of the Spray wax before rinsing, but speed, less time & less effort & convenience is worth it...

The only thing that bothers me about these products is that I've heard countless people tell me their car is "ceramic coated" when they use these products. Like, is it actually "ceramic coated"? To me, it downplays the superiority of a real ceramic coating applied after a paint correction. Anyone else hear this and what do you think?

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  4 роки тому +2

Yes, the real issue is that there is no real standard as to what brands can call or claim about products and no real repercussions to misleading information, but it’s a tricky thing to regulate.

    • @devon3800
      @devon3800 4 роки тому +2
