Some 20-30 years ago I attended a concert with David Lindley in Stockholm. I had written " The King of Slde and Lapsteel". I walked towards the scene to get Davids autograph when a fu.....guard try to stop me. David shouts " let him pass through" Yes I got the autograph. What a Great, nice and skilled Man. Hasse , Stockholm
I always come back to this video. What a Legend singing a song that was written by The Boss and meant for this particular performance . The planets have aligned sort of thing. Sorry but just love this. Dave in his natural habitat. Only thing missing is Dave Boy Attenborough doing some commentery. Catfood sandwiches people.!!!!!
Love love love Weissenborns! Lindley's amazing, that's obvious no matter what instrument he's playing. But when he's playing slide, it just fills me with joy!
I saw David perform this in Tarrytown, NY years ago and got hooked on this version of brothers under the bridge. I think it’s better than Bruce’s original.
@belikewater001 Well its all matter of taste. Taste is hard to discuss. So we cant blame each other for having different taste. But dont take me wrong. I seen David Lindley Live. He is a first rate musician. A musical Genius. No wonder why he has fans all over the world. I love his fiddle playing behind Jackson Brownie.
Wow .. Dave has lost weight .. I was hoping he would get weight loss surgery + a hair transplant .. get rid of the glasses + facial hair .. he'll look like his old self again .. well, make that young crazy self .. !
Horrible guitar sound. David is a first rate fiddle player with a lot of Soul , i just cant understand what people hear in his Lap style guitar playing and singing.

This is his best performances of Brothers Under The Bridge.
Dave, man! If you EVER find that Dave is coming to your town, you are in for a treat. Anything with strings, he pulls music out of it.
A heart allowed to cry is a soul that will fly!

Thank you, Mr. Lindley, for leaving us so many luscious sounds - and all these songs we can still ponder.

Seems half of David's songs concerned the downtrodden. His music enriched my life and he was a great guy.
Awesome. I still have my ticket stub from when he performed this on Apr. 14, 2007; opening for Leo Kottke.
one of the best lap steel guitar player

OHHHH......this made my day! I saw him play this in January, a lovely song, truly from the heart. Thanks for posting !!
Had the pleasure of seeing him early in studio's in L.A. I see the same people in the audience when he plays at McCabes. What a huge heart he has.

A national treasure!
OMG is there anyone else that could make a Weissenborn sound that freaking great? I doubt it.
Lindley is one of a kind. Ain’t nobody like him anywhere. I know that cuz I looked.
As to Lindley, his draft lottery number was 334 but that wasn't called. Those were his Kaleidoscope years.
Wow
Only Lindley could go to do a two song radio session with TWO Weissenborns
doesn't sound like dadgad, but I don't care.
I've never heard this before and I'm spellbound.
Dave owns this. : )
Kentish...not many of us know EVERYTHING! You do okay for a young feller!
Wonder if he was over there in the nam'
...and the second song is "cat food sandwiches"
Goodness me - 14 years ago 😐

It looks like he's lost a bit of weight since the 2007 clips, he looks healthier now,not that it matters, I just thought I'd mention it!
Rip lord
What's that California grey squirrel doing glued to his face?
letterman needs to get him on---a great showcase for his music
@bluesintheblood probably just clarifying for the audience but that stuff does happen a lot
Wow, that sound engineer did crap with his voice, he deserved much better!..
You're really good, sir Lindley.
