Gong really should have learn how to synchro summon baronne instead of those terrible packfiller SHS so he won't have to lose hardly and became side character collecting L after lancer is formed
I *DEVOURED* people in the first synchro event in Master Duel with Poisonous Winds because *EVERY* loaner deck was reliant on Wind monsters. I don't remember what one of the decks was, but Stardust couldn't summon Junk Speeder, (let alone the Stardusts), and Speedroid couldn't summon... *ANYTHING.* If I went first and had Poisonous Winds the game was just over instantly 99% of the time. (1% = Spell/Trap removal)
@@fortidogi8620 I did the same thing during the Fusion event using stuff like Consecrated Light when all the Loaner decks were Dark too. However, for context, this was back when Konami let everyone and their goddamn mother play non-Event-relevent decks like True Draco at full power and this was my first Yugioh game since 5Ds so I had been suckered into getting stuff like Blue-Eyes and Monarchs. I'm pretty sure one of my best decks at the time was N/R Timelords.
@shanehaney6040 And then you go against Runick and watch your Harpie's get banished. (But it was the 9th card banished, you were never going to hard draw it in time anyway.)
2:07 Speaking of Daimax articles, I *have* to talk about his other article, "Pankratops clears your fave" or whatever. It's an incredible retrospective of how we use the battle phase, and why these days you need to use the battle phase more as a second board breaker. Incredible article that everyone should read. We need more of them
Konami TCG's line if thinking with the Canon Soldiers is probably that the burn effects are only able to FTK because another card(s) allow you to special summon enough times to burn for 8000, so they address cards like pre-errata Firewall and Ronintoadin
A limit tho lmao konami should just ban them because they're degenerate cards, why give them the chance to build the canon soldier ftk in the first place? just ban that shit.
@@OlgaZuccati How are they degenerate? Is Ookazi degenerate, because enough of those can FTK you? The only time these cause problems is when something lets you summon SIXTEEN other monsters in the turn. And not like looking for 5 summons like Nibiru, 16 monsters that are not being used by anything. If I can get 16 summons plus find one of these for #17, I can just make some stupid 9 negate plus floodgate plus Gryphon set a trap so even DRNM can't out the board. Why even make my deck worse by playing a brick in cannon soldier?
@@Lifeispain99 but why would you want the cannon soldier cards in the game when you have a deck that can do the ftk? you're just making an already unfun deck more unfun by letting people do that shit with it. nobody wins with those cards legal.
@@Lifeispain99 funny that you mention ookazi. ookazi is not a problem card. but imo chain burn is one of the lamest decks in existence. it waits for you to put 4 or 5 cards on the field then chains 3 just desserts + chain strike to burn you for 8k. it's ass today but it's still lame and uninteractive.
Okay to be fair to Legendary Ocean, the archtype it's played in, Umi Control, actually uses the level reducing to summon their level 5 boss monsters more often than they use it to screw other decks- it's more that they get hit accidentally. And trust me, that deck lives and dies on it's boss. Plus, it's the most searchable umi, with warrior of atlantis, and helps the deck the most with the level reducing.
agree, out of the entire list, while they do have argument for the ban, it is the least problematic one and it is actually used in its right way instead of the off brand floodgate-y way
@@milesandrews6711 It also allows them to tinker with different xyz monsters, plus it gets interesting if you throw in icejade ran aegirine for synchros, giving access to adamancipator risen dragite for trap negates, something that they solely lack. If umi control screws up a single interaction, they die. If they get hit with a single imperm, they die.
God that kali yuga mention hit me so hard. Couple days ago I was climbing back up from gold after the rank reset in master duel, sat through a fifteen minute blackwing turn that ended on baronne savage dragon (just like every other combo deck out there), then when it was finally my turn I thought "Thank god I have dark ruler no more! I can actually play the game now!" Only for him to chain rank up magic something into kaliyuga. Since it was technically summoned before the DRNM resolved, my card was negated and I guess I'll go fuck myself
I have a special hatred for Kali Yuga because it was all Raidraptors were ever known for until the new support. I still have a special hatred for it because it's a degenerate card that forced a loss for Yuya when he absolutely should have won.
@@gyppygirl2021 As a D/D/D enjoyer let me say that RUM PK Launch is the real problem since it limits Xyz card design. Not only this cheats out Xyz monsters with hard summoning requirements (good luck playing 2 D/D + Armored Xyz stuff in anything remotely competitive), it does this at Spell Speed 2 that can fundamentally break many cards. Time-Tearing Morganite It locks you out of hand traps. It is a straight -1 until an entire turn has passed. It has a really questionable use case for a second or third copy. In most cases, you’d be better served with Double Summon or Brilliant Fusion. BUT, if someone resolves it, you know they’re playing the most frustrating and/or terrible stun deck you’ve ever seen.
As one of those frustrating Stun Players, Morganite would absolutely need a ban if they ever slowed the game down. What checks it is the idea of living to turn four immediately makes a deck a rogue tier deck, and doing so without Ash/Veiler/Nibiru/Maxx C (OCG/MD) is even more ludicrous.
I particularly have a hate for Arcana Force: The World. I was at a local where my opponent got a successful flip 4 times, which means I simply did not get to play the game. That opponent is a friend of mine and to this day I have accused him of somehow having a weighted coin
If we banned Nibiru then any discussion involving salamangreat and hero can stop beginning and ending with "doesn't that deck die to nibiru?" And if we banned Nibiru then we can get rid of Apo/Baronne that were pretty much printed so future combo decks could be designed around turboing into them within 5 summons.
Similar thing with Evenly Matched. It gatekeeps any deck that can't end on an omni-negate. I find Nibiru and Evenly to be fundamental game design mistakes.
Snake Rain is probably the second biggest card that restricts design. The biggest being Exodia, as it's the reason Spellcasters can't get good consistency cards.
add any non-dark/level 4 or higher/can't be normal summoned/with more than 1000 atk/with exactly any number but 200 or 1000 spellcaster it isn't exodia's fault

I think thats a bit of cope on konamis side sure, its a strong card, but make archetype that doesnt have any insane GY value while having SOME, so its useufl but not broken no one can convince me that card like junk speeder can exist and be worked around while still being decent, but snake rain is somehow problem
@autobotstarscream765 no because Shifter is LV6. Most type searchers specify lv4 or lower. Also, activating a search spell would put a card in grave, meaning you couldn't even use Shifter.
If you ban Ash Blossom you have to ban Branded Fusion. Not because it would be too strong, it might be but that’s not important. But the branded players would find a way be absolutely insufferable. If I have to hear a, “Response to Branded Fusion? Oh right, Ash Blossom is still banned, isn’t it? That’s too bad~” at a locals I’m going to spontaneously combust.
I think I've never seen Ultimaya Bishbulkin used in a non-degenerate way. Like if we get a good deck that can spam out high leveled tuners that would be the biggest pain
But it makes DistantCoder cry on the rare occasions that it actually pops up, and I honestly can't help but enjoy the videos where he gets jumpscared by it.
i tried to meme it out with buster blader, because using hieratics is a good way to get equal high level monsters because you can special summon dragon core hexer very easily as your tuner and level modulate with eset, but that doesnt work, because buster blader/destruction sword is a house of bricks, getting out bishbalkin is not a problem, its getting out buster blader, the dragon destroyer swordsman, and buster dragon in a turn
@@babrad nh geonator can also be based as hell if you want to just meme and change of heart your opponents reckless zone placement I understand your point and it is a valid one, but dont touch geo, based card
Talking about barrier statues, the next big one could be the FIRE or WATER ones, especially the latter. Like, imagine an actually good Water deck that can play with Umi and can actually get to play with the barrier statue. For the fire one, it's mostly because it's a Bonfire target.
I have long held the opinion that Mist Valley Apex Avian should be banned specifically because it's so annoying to play against in Floo. Any format where that deck is good is a format where I have to deal with a once-per-chain negate that keeps getting recycled, and I HATE that.
On the Magician's Souls take, it not that MS second effect to summon DM is better, it's because it's the ONLY way to summon Dark Magician from your deck. It's the closet thing we have to a starter.
@@jimtsap04 I'd actually play curtain if it wasn't for that last line of text. What's the difference between 8000 and 4000 when you're dying turn 2 anyway?
@@Gamemaster13000 if it at least let you normal summon it could be playable but the fact you can't even do that is the real nail in the coffin, dm may be so mid it doesn't even special summon enough to care but they do care a lot about their normal summon, but being real even if it just didn't have any sort restriction cost or once per turn dm would still be thoroughly mid
As someone who plays Vaylantz: Pachycephalo absolutely should he banned because it's searchable via Gallant Granite and you can easily summon it at the end of your combo because you don't even need to your normal summon and still end on 3 Mat Apollousa, Arktos XII, and Pachycephalo. Imagine trying to out 3 monster negates and one destruction while being unable to Special Summon
I've taken to using a Madolche/Vernu/Superheavy decklist in DM that also runs earth barrier statue and granite, and it has a surprising amount of consistency in its weird capabilities. Almost any SHS lets you end on Baron and Barrier statue minimum, any two vernusylphs gets you into Vera, possible with barrier statue and baron in play, and then the madolche stuff has its own combos, since you can go into their combos with hootcake, anjelly, or peddingcesor, and any 1 vernu or with the pend summon that SHS gives you. It can have some wildly different boards, but I've ended on a vera, baron, Earth Statue, and full madolche set-up, giving me an omni-negate, an on-board omni-negate, an on-resolution negate, an earth-monster revive (to bring back the barrier statue if they attack over it at the end of combat), no special summoning of non-earth, spell/trap protection, and the ability to shuffle between 2 and 5 cards from GY's into deck (depending on if vernu's got to pitch mudora or not.) It's the magical christmas land board, but it can be done.
I play a magnet warrior adamancipator deck and let me tell you, pachycephalo saves from bricks, and since in the tcg, block dragon is banned, I don't need more strays. If you want the decklist, search "magnet warrior stun" in ygoprodeck, i promise, pachycephalo and gozen match are the only floods.
7:35 The day AFD got unbanned on Master Duel, I crafted one of it and one of these to make a Drytron deck that could very consistently access the field spell that let you choose the coin flip on turn 1
@@dudono1744 You use Beatrice to bin an Arcana force legacy support card called Arcana Reading, (a common printed in 2020) then banish it to immediately normal The World. It's essentially shadow's light on crack
I hate to have to defend Dark Magician players, but calling Souls a Pot of Greed is pretty misleading. You need to send spelltraps to get those draws, and they play like one spelltrap with a GY effect. So it's more accurate to say that it turns two of your cards into Upstarts, and that doesn't really do anything. Maybe you could argue that it can be useful in MD or in game 1 of a Bo3 if you draw Lightning Storm or other going second cards when going first, but that's about it.
I agree with banning the extra deck boss monsters... I think we should apply that to every generic extra deck boss monster, The one thing that made me drop the game was this era of yugioh where every deck, regardless of what it was, ended in the same board. "Oh! I have this very cool unique arquetype! what does it do? well.. it enables the same 4 dudes you have been seeing in every duel, except now they take 1 less special summon"
The worst part of the Souls take is, the draw 2 effect isn't even good in Dark Magician. You only really have 1 superfluous spell to send, which is Salvation, every other one is either something you want to keep (like Circle and Eternal Soul) or activate (like Soul Servant), and the draw 2 effect is something you'd use to get to those cards.
You brought up a good point about Ash, mostly because of not just Maxx C, but other "Must be 3 of" cards that other people hate like Pot of Greed. I'd go so far as to say hand traps in general because it's gotten to the point where if you don't open with enough hand traps to stop your opponent from playing, you may as well not play yourself which doesn't feel like good game design.
I said it before on an MBT video and since he showed up in this one I'll say it again, they should Errata Toon Canon Soldier to only be able to tribute Toon monsters for its burn effect and remove the summoning sickness part of its effect and the card would be fine coming off the banlist, heck I'm not even convinced it would be good, but you could at least still use it to push for game if your just that little bit off and have it out. Would it be good? Probably not, but Toons need every card they can get, and it would be interesting to at least experiment with in Toons what with Comic Hand to steal and tribute the 'now a Toon' monster taken after it attacked would be an interesting little piece of synergy just for an example.
Funny enough when Crusadia first dropped I actually did play fire prison as a cheeky floodgate. So if you drew terra or this card in your opening hand with like rescue cat you could end on a board with a equimax, nat beast, and fire prision. I barely ever made that board, but when I did it felt so gross. Especially if I had Crusadia Vangard face up. Like welp GL outing that.
He didn't say ash is bad, the point of the video is that you should consider why you are playing the card, ash wasn't popular in tear format for example
In the case of Magician's Souls, the choice is not between drawing 2 cards or summoning a vanilla. The first effect requires you to also send 2 Spells/Traps from your hand and/or field to the GY to draw 2 cards. While that might be a good deal in certain decks (e.g. Witchcrafters), there are definitely decks out there in which summoning Dark Magician is the better option (e.g. if you're running Champion's Vigilance, Fists of the Unrivaled Tenyi, and/or Phantasm Spiral cards, not to mention actual Dark Magician support cards that reward you for summoning Dark Magician).
Fun fact. Winda didn’t die in poisonous winds. She died from taking the awakening of a god to the face. An event which caused her to become the catalyst for the reawakening of a different god long after death.
I remember doing a combo of Aurora Paragon and By Order of the Emperor; you stop its destruction since it's an effect that activates when a Normal Summon happens, and get a draw to go with it.
As an MD Player I agree with all these ban choices ( except Ash since Maxx C is still legal ). I would also like to ban Bad Reaction to Simochi, Nurse Reficul and Manipulator of Souls. Those 3 Cards are literally only used for FTK Bot Decks that are infesting the ranked ladder and lead to very boring and unfun games that are either a free win or an automatic loss if you can't interrupt them.
@@uglyboi5254 Only 3 Times. I'm just sick of seeing Dumb FTK Bots everywhere ( there was a time I ran into 5 FTK Bots in a Total of 10 Duels ). Banning Nurse, Simochi and Manipluator of Souls would only hurt those Bot Decks because they are only useful in those Decks.

Easy answer: Pole Position. No card with that many rulings nightmares should ever be legal, regardless of power. Magic has its own migraine inducer with Panglacial Wurm, which you can cast from your deck while you're searching it. Does it see play at all? Only when someone wants to make a judge squirm. And that's the exact use case for Pole Position. There's a reason that, even with practically every corner case accounted for in Master Duel, Konami will never add it to the game.
Hear me out on Moon Mirror Shield: with every other archetype boss monster having immunity to everything but being destroyed by battle and having 3k+ attack, it is so satisfying to say, "yeah I'm just gonna hit you for 100 more than that." Especially if your deck doesn't have anything to beat over it
yup, any player that cries over needing to play backrow hate deserves it, its part of the game, we should complain about game being so monster centric and quickplay spell oriented where most people dont play any backrow hate anymore, instead of complaining about a handful of good equip cards, type of card that has notoriously been completely useless or used in some degenerate combo loops and strats (like smoke grenade)
@@nbassasin8092 the issue is not with moon mirror shield itself, it's with the monster it's protecting. even the scenario op said can be reversed. imagine like a opps card just reads "this card is unnaffected by your opponent's card effects. once you slap the moon mirror shield on it, it becomes twice as hard to out that
The EARTH one is seeing some play in Rock Stun because it's another Fossil Dyna with one of the Adamancipator spells. I'm fine with it being banned . . . after Snake-Eyes are taken out behind the woodshed.
The ash blossom mention was based, I don't care that Max C is a turn ender and ASH is one for one, If a card is so damn ubiquitous that it warps not only deck building principles but card DESIGN Principles around itself in a ever evolving arms race to not be invalidated by its mere existence, If it is so ubiquitous that literally 90%! of decks run it, It is having to much of an effect, it is time to step back and get rid of it, ad that cards that would go over the top without it around.
I honestly think that the only reason Library isn't banned is because the most viable win-con for Library spam decks is Exodia, and it's also the most easy way to make an Exodia FTK deck, and Exodia is popular. Obviously there are creative ways to make Exodia competitive that are honestly better than Library (as Jeff Leonard proved) but Library is the easiest. If Infinite Forbidden actually makes a pure Exodia deck viable then I suspect Library might actually get banned. Also same as Panda. The take on Cannon Soldier and other variants is a case of "shooting the messenger." They're legal in the TCG but really those FTKs are more a warning sign. I think that a deck that can spam out 15 monsters exclusively to use as tribute fodder plus one specific level 4 - it's not the Cannon Soldier that's the problem, it's the cards that let them get out sixteen monsters including one highly specific one and do nothing with them other than use them for 500 burn. If you have a deck that can consistently perform a Cannon Soldier FTK you're already going to win if you go first, the Cannon Soldier is just for BM.
Isn't reversal quiz the best library ftk enabler? It's probably just barely better than exodia but regardless neither is good so people just pick the iconic one not to seriously compete but for fun
2:07 I always find it amusing when Joseph makes this argument given he has also gushed about Prediction Princess, a deck that summons guard dog in face-down defense position and flips it.
Yes, absolutely FUCK Harpies Feather Storm. I was in genuine disbelief the first time i read it. It'd be annoying in Harpies but it being generic for Wind winged beasts makes the Floo matchup deeply frustrating
With how consistent and resistant many combos are becoming with newer cards they could make it only work on turn 3 and it would still kill you and you can do dick all to stop them
Also would be nice for the second player to just begin with the sixth card in hand instead of waiting to draw it for turn to equalize the playing field a bit, also lets you know to scoop quickly if you haven't drawn the out instead of sitting and watching your opponent go off with a tiny hope of finding it
There's no way it's a coincidence that UA-cam put the video that starts with Poisonous Winds in my home the exact day that the WATER/WIND Festival is announced on Master Duel, right? I even crafted a full Water deck like a week ago
Every single time my opponent plays Skull Dread i feel my will to live leave my body this card only comes down after your opponent has dumped their hand with along roundabout combo only to continue that combo for another 5 minutes i hate Skull Dread so much
@Takato ...Which are generally Garnet fiestas that need all the help they can get to do anything besides brick, get hand trapped, pass on nothing, and get OTKed. 😂
5:55 To be fair, in Master Duel that's heavily in part due to Maxx C. You can't not play Ash when Maxx C is relevant against your deck. If we got rid of Maxx C, we could "murder our darling".
Ash Blossom is still rampant even in the TCG. Even if it did get banned on Master Duel we wouldn't actually see Ash Blossom drop in usage all that much.
@@EinDoseIt’s such a tough problem honesty, it hard to lean one way or the other. Yes it is busted, but it’s also really necessary are usually pretty low impact in any competitive environment. I’m not sure there is a good solution other than Mass culling to lower the power level or some kind of rotation for the same purpose.
And you can bet your ass they will never ban Maxx "C" in Master Duel. Why? Because they lower the ceiling for players of all kinds to get wins by having it draw you into your important cards turning it all around at just the right time. This means higher new player retention from the good feels of winning, and more potential $$$ from said new players looking to get more decks on their one account, at least before they make burners to test new decks instead of drop $$$ to do so.
@@Merilirem Look at the TCG itself for what would happen if you ban Maxx C, Ash remains a mandatory 3 of nothing fucking changed because so many older decks crash and burn off a properly timed Ash
I would LOVE to see the Tax Dragons gone. These cards basically only serve 2 purposes: making comebacks impossible because you dont have enough lifepoints left to play the game, and weird standoffs in time where your opponent just stares at you and asks if you would rather take the draw or lose. It is basically impossible for these cards to ever create an interesting gamestate
Thing is Tax Dragons are one of the few actual other strategies left in this game and their strength is relative to how efficient you are at making plays basically stop showboating l
Step 1 : ban all floodgates (including handtraps that do that) Step 2 : ban ash blossom, and droll&lock. So that you can print more search effects, instead of "cheat out" cards. Step 3 : ban omni negates
Ash 100%. It contributes to a "mandatory yet worthless" problem where cards going forward are designed with it fully in mind. Archetypes are designed to play either through or around it and still function. This creates a situation where you absolutely need Ash or they're too overbearing and strong, but if they get ash'd they still play through it anyway and they're still super strong.
I remember a regional where I played Luna Orcust (borrowed) I didn't have Borrelsword, so I was about to play Leo Dancer as my finisher, but some dude was selling utopia double. I had to change my brick from Wolf to DoN. I reduced my level of based, but increased my otks. Of course I didn't top... Anyway, I think that deck would felt better without generic finishers
as much as i'll be sad to see it go i think gladiator beast tamer editor is just one card that searches test tiger away from being sent to prison for animal abuse. any easily accessible card that can cheat out contact fusions (which in and of themselves cheat fusion mechanics) is basically verte 2.
You could start every game with test Tiger in hand and Tamer Editor would still be completely fine. Contact Fusion is at this point, worse than standard Fusion. Like, it's not even close. The only way that Tamer Editor could ever be like Verte is if they print a card that's basically an amped up Circular that Special Summons from deck
System down sorta fits as a busted specific counter card, but since it’s not continuous/a floodgate it’s not really in the same category as a lot of these other cards
Aurora Paragon won me some games I shouldn't have taken in my early masochist run. The funniest was against a Mikanko player who equipped it with the spell that prevents the equipped monster from being destroyed by card effects
You know I love to OTK but I could not agree more on the accesscode, borrelsword take. Their existance makes it so that pretty much any deck if given one free turn will OTK 100% of the time, and I know you think this is how its supposed to be BUT ITS NOT
Spirit Elimination and Curse of Fiend should just be errata'd. Spirit Elimination could be changed to: Banish any number of monsters you control; return that many of your banished monsters to your GY. And as for Curse of Fiend, just make it a Quick-Play.
I actually really wish they'd physically errata a lot of old cards. I think that would pass for a cool collector's set. Even just rarity bumps of things that never got them, but could get PSCT
Funny story. I’d play no EX kaiju monarch. My whole goal for the lols was. Kaiser, eruption, a way to tribute summon the 3000k beater kaijus. If strong tower, I literally have waterfront and all the kaijus. Shit was fucking nuts simply because of monarch cards. I even used stormfront to yoink my own kaiju back for a tribute.
My solution to ash is to split it into 4 cards: draw, search, special summon, send to grave. A big part of why ash is run is because it hits basically everything.
5:30 I recently talked with a Magic Player and he compared Maxx C to Sol Ring (a generic means of getting ramp quickly and equalizes). I had to sit on that take for a little bit of time but I think how Yu-Gi-Oh is designed Ash is a better parallel. Yu-Gi-Oh doesn't have ramp because we have no resource system so Ash fits the role better of a great equalizer
I absolutely agree with the Ash ban. Really in general I'm fine with negations in the game, but I feel like it should be something special you work towards. Tired of the amount of non games in modern YGO. We can critique the unbreakable boards AND the hand traps.
“Ash is only played because of the bug” is complete bs. In a best of one format where you could be playing god knows what, ash is going to see stupid amounts of play due to how much ground it covers. Same with called by. People really need to stop acting like these cards are solely for maxx c
The argument isn’t that ash is only to counter the bug, it’s that the presence of the bug makes Ash an even LARGER necessity. It’s a compounding factor on an existing problem.
2:32 YES! PLEASE! Get these stupid cards out of the damn game! I HATE hitting 5300 or less lifepoints, and going "Oh. If my opponent has the ability to summon 4 monsters, I just lose the game". Awful.
idk how Triple Tactics Talent isnt banned yet. Everybody and their grandmother is activating an affect during your main phase and its effectively pot of greed, enemy controller, or dustshoot
The fucked up thing is: I have been saying this about ash blossom for YEARS now, and everyone would just say I'm a psycho. ITS BEEN 7 YEARS KONAMI MAKE DUELISTS INNOVATE FOR ONCE
Makes you wonder if they searched all cards that mentioned Wind monsters when they were designing it and realized it would be cancer to it if they didn't call all of the summons normal. And then makes you wonder why they thought the Barrier Statue wouldn't be used or wasn't a problem.
The last person didn't want to ban magicians souls. What they really wanted to ban is clearly dark magician. Not sure if I agree, but I can respect the opinion
My choice would be droll. Mainly because it's either impossible or very hard to play around for a good portion of decks. It also kills rituals which I cannot forgive it for.
you can play arcana force the world with drytron btw. its searchable and can always summon back 2 to tribute for turn skip and in a sense ftk. its not a good deck, but its annoying af when you get your turn skipped 3 times in a row.
For me, the card that comes to mind is Rikka Princess. Yeah it doesn't completely fit the prompt, since it obviously does see play (and yes, my European is showing lol). Even so, an extender with an monster negate attached is just super infuriating, especially since Rikka Sunavalon is relatively low-investment for it's combos. It makes interacting with their board even more difficult than it should be, especially for decks that are tiered around and below Rikka Sunavalon.
The game would less miserable and more fun. But because its less miserable, IM having less fun. My fun is derived from my ability to see my opponent groan any time I flip a piece of cardboard and say "response?"
Every so often on Duel Links i see someone open some random monster, equip it with Power of the Guardians, and pass. Fortunately i play decks with in archetype spell/trap removal.
My Kashtira deck lost to Click & Echo. It's summoned to your side of the field and can't be tributes xyz or synchro away blocking Most Kashtiras, Lightning storm, Imperm from the hand and any other card that needs a clean board to resolve. It's not a good card but it can single handedly win a duel.
Mom look I got into the MBT vidya! I salute those brave enough to go with the bold option of wanting to see staple cards banned because we’re all tired of seeing them over something incredibly funny.
If I learned anything from WCQ in Master Duel, it's that if you open with Fossil Dyna + Moon Mirror Shield and some form of trap floodgate, I should be allowed to punch the person in the face.
Please ban ZW-Pegasus Twin Saber. It is worded terribly, like no one could reasonably expect it to be an optional negate on resolution when first reading it. Also, there should be ZERO optional negate on resolution effects in the game, I don't want its existence to encourage that type of design.
I saw this title and my brain immediately thought 'video on cards that are garbage but banned for some reason'. Still a good one, but now I want that (I might just be dumb and it might've already been done, been a while since I've watched all these.)
the problem i have with some cards like nibiru is that if you dont have them right at the moment of need, they become useless bricks, its a lot harder to think you have a chance going second when you hard draw the one card that could have saved you one turn ago and now it became your death sentence because it does nothing.
one interesting change I saw someone comment is to make who goes second draw 6 cards on the start and not drawing on their turn, making going second less punishing
@@danielhertz1984 that's me lol! Makes handtraps stronger for the second player only and boardbreakers feel less bad as you know from the start if you've drawn the out rather than having to sit and watch your opponent go off with a tiny hope your rip the out off the top

Konami TCG's line if thinking with the Canon Soldiers is probably that the burn effects are only able to FTK because another card(s) allow you to special summon enough times to burn for 8000, so they address cards like pre-errata Firewall and Ronintoadin

God that kali yuga mention hit me so hard. Time-Tearing Morganite
It locks you out of hand traps.
Or Paleo.
@@strangevol5264 thanks, Josh

It can have some wildly different boards, but I've ended on a vera, baron, Earth Statue, and full madolche set-up, giving me an omni-negate, an on-board omni-negate, an on-resolution negate, an earth-monster revive (to bring back the barrier statue if they attack over it at the end of combat), no special summoning of non-earth, spell/trap protection, and the ability to shuffle between 2 and 5 cards from GY's into deck (depending on if vernu's got to pitch mudora or not.) The worst part of the Souls take is, the draw 2 effect isn't even good in Dark Magician.

Easy answer: Pole Position. No card with that many rulings nightmares should ever be legal, regardless of power. Magic has its own migraine inducer with Panglacial Wurm, which you can cast from your deck while you're searching it. Does it see play at all? Only when someone wants to make a judge squirm. the problem is, where do you stop then because almost every deck it stops is designed around preventing the opponent from playing at all.

Master Rule 6 NEEDS to make burn damage impossible on turn 1.
With how consistent and resistant many combos are becoming with newer cards they could make it only work on turn 3 and it would still kill you and you can do dick all to stop them
I'm pretty sure the biggest effect that would have is turning a lot of matches that go into time into ties, which Konami really doesn't want.
Also would be nice for the second player to just begin with the sixth card in hand instead of waiting to draw it for turn to equalize the playing field a bit, also lets you know to scoop quickly if you haven't drawn the out instead of sitting and watching your opponent go off with a tiny hope of finding it

Every single time my opponent plays Skull Dread i feel my will to live leave my body this card only comes down after your opponent has dumped their hand with along roundabout combo only to continue that combo for another 5 minutes i hate Skull Dread so much
Yeah, ban link 4 one and give use his younger version before he got chained up (Saryuja's shackles artwork)
I always advocated for a ban on saryuja exactly because of that. He's just an extender for decks that already extend their plays too much.
@Takato ...Which are generally Garnet fiestas that need all the help they can get to do anything besides brick, get hand trapped, pass on nothing, and get OTKed. 😂
I can't believe Parasite Paracide wasn't in the thread. "Put this card into your opponent's deck," Hello? That's a judge nightmare waiting to happen.
Ash Blossom has warped card design around it so much that it needs to be banned I do agree with that
5:55 To be fair, in Master Duel that's heavily in part due to Maxx C.
If they cut the card into bits that would just make people play those bits and play brickier decks. I’m not sure there is a good solution other than Mass culling to lower the power level or some kind of rotation for the same purpose.
@@EinDose but we need to see the numbers by banning c first. No point speculating on ash until c is gone.
I see your point but they can often be blown up by a Raigeki, flipped down from a book, or just negated by an imperm.
@@bobby45825 You just didnt understand the point of the video at all did ya….?
Thing is Tax Dragons are one of the few actual other strategies left in this game and their strength is relative to how efficient you are at making plays basically stop showboating l
But without them how will I ever roleplay the irs at my locals?!
@@SatanicWrenjust play around it
Step 1 : ban all floodgates (including handtraps that do that)
Step 2 : ban ash blossom, and droll&lock. So that you can print more search effects, instead of "cheat out" cards.
Step 3 : ban omni negates
Don't be fooled, the real reason someone would want Magician's Souls banned is to free SPYRAL - Master Plan.
Ah yes, #39 × 2, the boss monster of Face Card Knights. 🃏
as much as i'll be sad to see it go i think gladiator beast tamer editor is just one card that searches test tiger away from being sent to prison for animal abuse. any easily accessible card that can cheat out contact fusions (which in and of themselves cheat fusion mechanics) is basically verte 2.
Their existance makes it so that pretty much any deck if given one free turn will OTK 100% of the time, and I know you think this is how its supposed to be BUT ITS NOT
It's not supposed to be like that, that's why OTK decks are a thing.
"if you have a non once per turn burn effect you need to die" synchronized realm hiding in the corner
The funniest deck I've ever seen treasure panda used in was N/R Exodia BEAT DOWN. That deck was really funny. Couldn't be mad loosing to that.
I absolutely agree with the Ash ban. Really in general I'm fine with negations in the game, but I feel like it should be something special you work towards. Tired of the amount of non games in modern YGO. We can critique the unbreakable boards AND the hand traps.
On the artwork of Poisonous Wind, thats Caam not Wynn...
Dire, what is Augusta doing on that list? The entire amazoness archetype has less than an MST's worth of interaction.
She doesn't respect women
I'd side deck Poisonous Winds specifically to deal with Baronne and Apollousa, as long as I'm not playing Speedroids-
The fucked up thing is: I have been saying this about ash blossom for YEARS now, and everyone would just say I'm a psycho.
ITS BEEN 7 YEARS KONAMI
MAKE DUELISTS INNOVATE FOR ONCE
They did, it's called Danger!
Ban D-Hero Plasma
Yeah Skill Drain on legs is way too strong but standard skill drain is so bad
Don’t you dare ban Plasma!
Add Dark Law and that Angel one :]
Also Dark Angel and Dark Law
HERO players may cry that they don't have a win condition anymore but to that I say GOOD
@@MiyaoMeow588Trinity OTK, Shining Neos Wingman, DPE. They still have soo many cards even if those are banned.

"The More You Know" PSAs
On the topic of poisonous wind, it’s just so funny that the best wind deck to ever exist is just completely unaffected by it.
Clearly they're sick of seeing Dragoon in Branded. 😂
My boredom is cured again thanks to MBT's Twitter threads
The guy dunking on souls special DM effect has clearly never used it while circle was already active therefore the summon of DM gets you a banish
3:21 gee MBT, i wonder how you reached to that conclusion
*TD winning a masochist tournament flashbacks*
Does every non once per turn burn card include Anti-Airship Flower?
I’m of the mindset that anything that enables an FTK, no matter how inconsistent it is, should be banned.
7:10
Right there is why I’m subcribed ☠️😂 love you man
Ah, the good old Monarch days. You know, they should release new Monarch support to get the deck back to speed with the game
I say the same with Gladiator Beasts.
Every so often on Duel Links i see someone open some random monster, equip it with Power of the Guardians, and pass. Fortunately i play decks with in archetype spell/trap removal.
Yuseph rocking the Jeff Leonard haircut.
5:05 - honestly Dire, it might be called "being a Yu-Gi-Oh player" too.
Also, there should be ZERO optional negate on resolution effects in the game, I don't want its existence to encourage that type of design.
ahh another week where Dire made a meh joke, but she edits the video so it's going in. honestly I respect it
I saw this title and my brain immediately thought 'video on cards that are garbage but banned for some reason'.
Makes handtraps stronger for the second player only and boardbreakers feel less bad as you know from the start if you've drawn the out rather than having to sit and watch your opponent go off with a tiny hope your rip the out off the top

as cards that enable an otk strategy like TENPAI become more popular in Konami's eyes, a card that makes you play an entirely different game with it's own meta to get an advantage over your opponent will become a problem.
System Down 100% should be on here. The fact that if you play a Machine deck theres just a 1 card out to my entire board AND graveyard is absolutely bullshit.
3:48 but it would just lose 600 attack and they can walk over it? Most monsters already can. Incredibly jank pachy
