Great video. I hope stylists realize one reason so many people get natural hair info from UA-cam is cost. A good natural stylist is not cheap. Some simply cannot afford to pay hundreds for salon care on a regular basis. Also, in some areas there are no natural hairstylists at all. What is wonderful is now more stylists are starting to give tips on proper natural hair care which will lead to less use of heavy products.

Thank you! I definitely agree with you! I do think it’s important to save for a good hair appointment at least once. If it’s a good stylist they should be giving you valuable education to take back home with you. Even if the appointment is only a trim.

Living in Atlanta finding a natural hair salon is very hard, I’ve found it best to get tips from UA-camrs because my first time going to a supposed natural hair salon I was told that my hair 4A,4B was to thick and I just needed locs. I really wished a lot more natural stylists knew how to do natural hair and not charge $200 for it.

Hair is a lot of work and as stylist we do deserve to be paid fairly for our time and skill. However, I don’t understand natural hairstylists not wanting to take the time to do all hair types including thick hair. It can be daunting but it comes with the job.

You made a really good point regarding stylist having to use sort of a "one size fits all" products for their clients. It would get expensive. As a stylist would it offend you if a client brought in her own products to use? Would you let the client know if what they were using was the wrong products for their hair based on density, porosity, or hair type? Would bringing in their own products alter the price of the service?

No, I’ve had a client bring her favorite shampoo and conditioner. It does waive any liability though. So if you don’t get the results you want you can’t fault the stylist because they may not be familiar with how to work with that product for the best outcome.

She has mentioned in previous videos that she does have a scalp condition. Glad you’re doing this video.

Great content. What I have gathered from this is that there is a way to correct miss steps. Good to see a professional operating professional.

Until there’s no hair left on your head it can always be corrected! Thank you!

I’m sorry for your loss. There’s nothing like a mother’s love! A similar situation happened to my little cousin. Not knowing better she convinced my cousin to “texturize” her daughters hair to make it easier to manage. They always get people who don’t know any better.
