This video needs to go viral because the founder of this style of cutting hair gets very aggressive when questioned by customers whose hair has been damaged by this technique. I always wondered why all of their customers hair was always the same length.
@@GaDiva769 Yes, if you listen to Aelease explain it, her method came out of those curl-cutting classes she took from 2011 to present. She just developed it for kinky hair because she said she realized that kinky curly hair fell differently on the head than looser curls. And what is not said here, is that curly cuts are for people who wear their hair curly most if not all of the time. Because if you always wear your hair curly, why do you need to blow it out for maintenance? For it to fit straight hair standards (being even all the way around) when you are not wearing it that way most of the time. I've always been able to see my unhealthy ends with my hair curly. Especially when it's wet. Damaged curls don't curl the same. But that's just me🤷♀.

A family friend and stylist told me that curly cuts are something she expects from people at home, cutting their own hair, but not from a trained stylist. She said if you wanted to shape your hair, but lacked the skill set, you might approach shaping your hair like pruning shrubs, except our hair isn't a literal bush. When she put it that way, it started making more sense to me. I'm glad you made this video. You put the final nail in the coffin against curly cuts on MY hair.

I big chopped and found BGC right after. So I got my first curly cut on new hair growth in 2019. After getting regular curly cuts for almost 4 years my hair growth was stagnant and my strands compromised. Curly cutting seemed like such a paradigm shift and I was excited to learn something new and to be in a stylists’ chair again. My ends are chewed up but I’m slowing cutting them off on blown out hair. I’ve had two straight cuts this year and my hair is on the mend.
Since people are chiming-in about BGC, I guess I’ll add my 2-3 cents. (Lol) I never followed nor listened to anything that BGC touted. I felt that they exploited (and capitalized) on the mindset that kinkier textured hair is so different (i.e. deficient) that it has to be cut this way, and you can’t use these products, blah blah blah. Every time I saw a BGC cut, I knew what it was before it was confirmed; heavy hair, blunt lines, no movement in the curls, etc. If you want to see the potential of hair of an African lineage, check out the brothers and sisters in Brazil. They do hair well without assigning negative classifications or restrictions. Moral of the story if you want to win at natural hair: Learn the science then perfect your technique. That’s it…that’s the silver bullet.
If you leave like that initially people will only see how well dressed you are. If they hang around you a little longer then what? The smell kicks in 🫣… 😷😷
My first youtube teacher of wash n go's , scratch that, the only first professional that taught me how to define my curls, period We need to give this man his flowers now🔥👀
🎯🎯🎯 I have never trusted curly cuts for this very reason. My stylist trained under you and my shape is perfect. I am glad you are saying something because you been around before the natural hair movement. Alot of women's hair is being ruined and they are being gaslit.
I had my final curly girl cut this year. I could not figure out why my hair seemed to be thinner and unmanageable after my curly girl cut. After that final almost $200 curly curl cut in about March 2023, i decided to wash and condition my hair but it was sooo hard detangle. After a cut , i expect to be able to run my fingers through my head which wasn't the case. I was so frustrated and desperate,I ordered a pair of shears that same day. As soon as the shears arrived, i cut my hair using sections. After that amateur cut, my hair began to thicken.. Needless to say, not going to that stylist anymore.
Thank you for saying this! I never understood why someone would purposely cut the hair uneven. I like to wear my hair straight as well and always side eyed this "technique". Always thought it was gimmicky and a money grab.🤷♀️
The main issue is not even the unevenness it’s the damage. They have splits all over the hair shaft. At least uneven hair can be fixed in one salon visit.
I agree. Some of us have been natural for almost 30 years, and we've been getting our natural hair cut for 30 years. Now, that doesn't mean I haven't had a bad haircut or two. But folks have successfully cut my hair wet and dry. As long as you don't put too much tension on a wet haircut and account for the three or four curl patterns that I have, everything should be fine. I do think they can do a precise cut on wet hair and then clean it up when it's dry. The thing that really gets me is the price.
After getting a years worth of curly cuts you literally described my hair! It looks awful‼️I’ve lost length and the ends of my hair look like rats been chewing & sucking on them‼️🤣 Not to mention, I also followed the BGC’s haircare method and IMO it all destroyed my hair! 😑 I’ve been documenting my experience here on UA-cam and openly discussing it all so people can make a more informed decision for themselves. Lawd knows I wish I had‼️🫣😝
I immediately thought of you when I saw this video! Thank God stylists like Dickey and Narada are speaking out! And thank YOU for continuing to share your experience with us! Shout from the rooftops!!! I wasn't following BGC, but I was definitely getting curly cuts! I have tried many of the gimmick cuts (Rezo, Deva cut, wet "curl-by-curl", and other forms), and those cuts to me are for people who ONLY care about shape. I was also taught that the hair can definitely be shaped when blown out. That's how I ended up with my round shape.
Shelly.v.247 I’ve been following your hair journey including your horrible experience with curly cuts. Thanks for continuing to share your experiences; we are listening. I hope you reach you hair goals!
I noticed that after my curly cut. Certain parts of my hair had breakage which created “holes” as they call it but during the cuts those strands were ignored and when I did my own wash I would literally have to find the strands myself and cut them because the ends started splitting a lot. Thank you for this video ❤
@@lovejonz82 I’ve been trimming my own hair section by section. I also observe my ends a lot and cut the splits ends when I see/feel it. I no longer have a shape but it’s improving. I am due for a professional cut tho. Good luck 🤗
I keep getting curly cuts in my feed, then someone shared this video on Reddit. My first question about the cut was, “But the individual curls that were cut won’t be the same curls that form the next time you or the stylist washes your hair, so how does that even work?”🤔 Thanks for an excellent explanation that it _doesn’t_ work.🤪
I only discovered you a week ago and you affirmed what I know works for me but the natural gurus have said is wrong. Thanks for busting the myths and BS flying around on the net
Thank You 🙏🏽, for preventing me making really huge mistake with my hair. I was about to get a curly haircut “The Rezo Cut” (I love the analogy about going to the dentist and getting every other tooth cleaned).I really appreciate your candor about everything regarding hair care. You are a Godsend. Thank you again.
Thank you for making this video. You have so much experience and knowledge, and literally no reason to lie to us. You don't need internet clout, so nobody can even accuse you of that. At the end of the day, we all want our hair routines simplified, but if it comes at the expense of overall hair health then how is it worth it?
Preach!!! Best explanation I have heard. I got one curly cut many years ago and I could tell from the little snips on my highly dense hair that nothing was truly being done. Had to go get a regular cut right after.
I would love to come to one of your salons one day as I’ve been struggling to find a local stylist…really because of the issues that have been coming out of the natural hair gimmicks. …or perhaps lack of experience, greed, and an unwillingness to learn is a more accurate description? I digress… This is the BEST explanation I’ve heard about or against curly cuts. The getting every other tooth cleaned analogy made it all clear. Thank you so much!
Exactly, and if the client wants a wash and go he wets it, reconditions it and then does the wash and go. People are paying what $250+ to $400 +for barely anything. You don’t even get a deep conditioning treatment ☹️.

I quit that curly cut shit after getting one, then getting my hair blown out and it looks like who did it and why. I perfer healthy! My hair has been thriving and growing since I went back to basics, I blow it out and press it and get it cut the right way. BCG had my scalp inflamed my hair frizzed out and ends chewed up. She is also a mean girl. After experiencing her I only seek professional who have been in the game 10 years or more because these other people are freaking wild.
This is a word!!!! Unfortunately, after many years, I just learned this. I did curly cuts for 6 plus years straight before I realized how damaged my hair was when I blew it out at the salon. Now I know better and I will do better going forward.
Dickey is the goat. He has books, a product line , salon etc but he will not promote a gimmick to sell more books or more products!! Bravo Mr Dickey ! 😁😁🤩
I had one curly cut. It was during the pandemic. It bothered me because I thought some of my ends were freshly cut, but some were not. I am too OCD for that business. I was supposed to go back again, but the pandemic got worse. So I just went back to the old ways. Blow dry it first so the stylist can see what she is doing!
Thank you sir! Appreciate the professional perspective AND testimony from curly cut victims, erhm- I mean former curly cut clients, on this subject. Honesty & professionalism for the win 🎉.
This right here! I had my first and only curly cut last spring! It was supposed to be a shaping but inches were taken. I then blowed dried it straight and it was a MESS! ends were raggedy and uneven! Now 8 months later I’m finally back on track. I now let an experienced stylist trim my ends in a blown out state and my hair is thriving!!
I had to go back and watch your old videos to figure out why my curly cuts were not working. Thanks for popping in real time to reaffirm what you didn’t say but did say
I'm just shy of 2yrs into BGC and have only experienced legnth retention, less breakage than ever, and my hair is fast and easy to style w/ hardly any day2day upkeep between sets.. I've tried various methods over the decades I've been natural, none working as well as BGC.. Or least how it was taught to me by the stylist I've partnered with for my head of hair.. But I do totally agree, there is absolutely no reason to get a curly cut or follow BGC if you don't plan on wearing your naturally kinky/coily hair.. I couldn't imagine following my current regimen if I didnt wash and reset at least once a week, if I ever flat ironed my hair, or wore styles besides my simple wash and go set.. I truly don't think my hair care methods would work in those instances.. I tell everyone I know to partner with a stylist that performs the hair styles that they want to have done on their hair.. But to see a stylist that specializes in a style that you don't intend to wear at least 80-90% of the time doesn't make much sense.. Seeing and partnering with my stylist long term was what made the difference, I don't think it was BGC persay but more so the tecniques I now use work best for my head of hair.. And just so happens to be BGC.. I hope that makes sense to folks, I said all that to say to each their own, what works best for tour head of hair is out there.. But to get there faster finding that partnership is major key..❤
Nope, the people having a good time with this are the minority. It’s pure luck. Let’s listen to the professional the GOAT 🐐 DICKEY AND AVOID THIS BCG STUFF. The ones enjoying it you are lucky.
@@tmcurly Like I said, to each their own.. My hair is healthy and thriving for the 1st time since I was a teenager.. Stripping back and having simple and easy hair care practices was exactly what my hair needed.. My curly cuts work and are a preference for how I choose to style my hair 100% of the time.. I also spend far less money than I ever have on my hair.. So idk where you're getting that folks are being ripped off with pricing.. My cuts cost the same as getting a cut with any other stylist, about $80 (shampoo, style, cut) every 3-4months and my 5 products (shampoo, moisture shampoo, conditioner, mousse, gel) are purchased at about the same rate and total about $80 total as well.. In comparison to the $300+ I was spending every 4-6wks for an install, plus HUNDREDS on products for both my natural hair and then my installed hair because nothing truly ever "worked" it seemed.. I do not miss it taking a full day to redo my hair.. I honestly don't even think I could sit for no 3-4hr appointment again at this point.. My weekly reset is about 1.5hrs to wash, style, and set under the hooded dryer.. I have shake and go hair the rest of the week, just having to put a bonnet on to workout, shower, and sleep.. My sister who has looser curls and my cousin who has tighter coils than me, have both seen a difference in their hair as well.. Who knows, could be my stylist is just that good at teaching how to understand and cuts or what have you.. But I can only speak on the experiences around me.. And regardless of folks feelings about BGC ideology, partnering with a stylist in their network changed mine my sisters and cousins hair to the best state it's ever been.. I truly feel EVERYONE should partner with a professional to truly learn their hair.. Thats going to always be my take away based off mine and those around me experiences..
@AG34671 Right a wash, style, and cut was almost $300 in maryland..the stylist I was going to wouldn't allow you to get a cut by itself. Only as an add on. So it's definitely still alot of money. Especially if you are still learning and perfecting the method.
My ends were straggly and thin even after a deep curly cut. The next stylist who saw my hair said thinning shears were used. It was awful. I had to get even more hair cut to remove those thinned ends. I went from waist length to between APL and BSL. Thankfully it is growing back and I trim my own ends now.
Yes I am guilty of getting those curly cuts and following the BGC method, as you described in this video is what has happened to my hair. Thank you for making this video!
Everyone’s hair is different. My high porosity hair does best when cut straight and washed every 2-3 days using conditioner only and clarifying as needed. My curls and the shape have never failed me with this technique. My current issues is finding a stylist after my stylist moved away over five years ago.
thiss!! although it seems like common sense, i guess common sense isn’t so common like they say lol honestly i’m tired of looking up wng videos and coming across all of the BGC cult members 😅😂 they all have the same hair, style AND length 🫣

So glad that you addressed this. I’m relaxed so I don’t fall under this but was surprised why anyone thought it made sense. I’m not a cosmetologist but if we’re cutting curl by curl why go anywhere just do it at home. Ask the kids to help. I've had curly cuts, which means not only cutting each curl separately but also it has to be dry and stylized. 1) Cut the hair wet. Just do it longer you would do a straight hair. 2) Each curl will curl differently every time the hair is stylized. So, that cut may look ok until you stylize the hair again. Then, a lot of ringlets will be out of place. 3) If you blow dry your hair ocassionally, prepare yourself to be dismayed for the mess the hair is. Personally, I prefer wet cuts. Another thing is the no poo bs. Despite being a chemistry and having amazing curly hair for 38 years using sulfates and silicones I fell for the hype of the no poo. For 7 years I did it for the promises of great hair and use of better products. Well. My hair went from 3a/3b, curling from the roots, very shine, normal to oily, dense and medium/thick to a 2b/2c/3a texture with parts literally straight, dry, opaque, porous, thinner and the worst of all. The fall. My friends were asking me if or why I was straightening my hair by the end of those 7 years. By the time I said enough, I received a female baldness diagnosis from the doctor that didn't find anything wrong with me. If not for a coincidence after I decided to analyze my own hair routine and a youtube search to see if others had the same problem as me, I'd have gone bald while being no poo. My scalp was so destroyed I couldn't do anything for a time but use detox shampoo. Later, I used Nioxin and Redken extreme, which is expensive, but has no oil/butters as my hair didn't like these things at the time. I spent some coin to get it back during these last 4 years to recover it. How many are having the same problem and thinking it is them, their health or the products they are using? How many don't have the money to recover their hair? I kept changing brands so I'd not leave it behind. Fortunately, I went back to sulfates and silicones and all the other bad stuff and my hair is thriving. It was a cult and I didn't realize I was in one.
I think its a matter of how its done and where along the process its cut. I believe if its trimmed in its elongated stay before it has dried and has shrunken, that may be the best time to trim.
Only ever had one curly cut and thankfully saw the light. Decided to get a blow-dry and then trim 4 months later and had to loose a few inches of hair due to slit ends travelling up the hair shaft. I have tight curls, my hair looked healthy but wasn't. Curly cuts have a time and place and that's shaping the curls for wash and gos after a blow dry and then trim.
Ask Dickey, I hope that you are doing well 😊! What do you think of parting the hair in the middle and creating 8 twists on each side and trimming the very ends?
Mr. Anthony I am hollering at your comment "getting a curly cut is like going to the dentist and getting every other tooth cleaned" your straight forwardness is one of the traits I admire about you.
😭😭😭😭😭 I wish I had seen this video before I got a curly hair cut about 2 months ago and I hate my hair so much that I just wear it in a wrap or a head scarf. I have 2B/2C curly hair and only really hated haircuts that were curly cuts. This was my second one. The first one made my hair look like a hedge. That was years ago. I tried another one out in January, same problems. Uneven, not all the dead hair cut out, frizzy hair... it's so uneven that I have a chunk of short hair growing out of my left temple. I can't wear it pulled back anymore.
Makes sense to me as kinks, coils, waves and straight types ARE NOT CURLS and it’s a CURLY CUT. And like he said the hair grows one follicle at a time so how are stylists cutting clumps of curls thinking they are getting every strand on a round head? It’s not possible without combing through the hair.
Hi Dickey! Thank you for making this video! It’s now sunk in for me that curly cuts are not the way to go for my hair type. Does anyone have any suggestions for locating a hair specialist in N. California tgat cuts curly hair straight? Thanks
Omg that's me and I can't get or find a decent 4c stylist who can shape my medium to long 4c hair so I can wear it out confidently or have an even or shapely cut. It's all uneven. Even a tapered medium long hair 4c cut is hard apart from the common TWA & short tapered cuts.
@@BionAvastar3000Exactly! Most things the new age curl specialists are talking about can be found in the Curly Girl Method Handbook by Lorraine Massey (Founder of Deva Cut). She’s totally against using heat to alter the strands to be straight and laid the ground/inspiration to all these different curly cut techniques/styles out there.
I personally visited the stylist based in Chicago and was very happy with my results and hair growth afterward. My hair was the longest it has ever been and grew into the shape beautifully. She is extremely talented with a pair of shears. I had no breakage issues either. But her attitude is nasty, and I no longer support them. And this is where I think the problem lies, I had a completely different experience with the person she trained and dealt with all the issues other ppl say about BGC. If their online personas are any indication I doubt they are training their people well or creating an environment for ppl to learn. The lady I went to was no good and it was such a downgrade from the experience I had with the main stylist. On a separate note what do you mean BGC doesn't account for hair texture? Anyone who has dealt when them has it drilled that depending on their texture and hair traits they'd want a different product combination for wash n gos (topper gels, anyone?) and that certain shapes may not be attainable. Have you looked into their processes throughly before making this video? Of course if you want to wear your hair curly more often than straight, why wouldn't you prioritize the shape of your hair when curly? It's like getting bangs and complaining about not being able to do a slicked back bun easily. Straight cuts done in a wash and go look trash. I do think it's possible to have healthy hair with a BGC cut but its very dependent on the stylist. I think this method may have a high skill level needed for mastery. I've been on both ends of a great problem free BGC cut and one that was a complete mess.
When he is saying that the “creator “ of the curly cut doesn’t account for hair textures he’s not referring to BGC One of the first proponents of the curly cut was a white woman with curly hair.
Sorry, but people are stupid these days. I never listened to that nonsense of a curly cut. I just go to a hairdresser and i tell her that i want to cut all of the split ends of my curly hair. And she cuts it wet/damp. She cuts every strand. And only the necessary length. She asks a normal price, which is suitable for cutting ends.(28euro) No crazy prices like most hairdresser ask these days. The world is gone mad.And i think that the curly cut is also a way to scam people. So they can ask 100euro(i live in Europe) for just cutting half of hair. Just cutting ends doesn't excist anymore. You have to do a wash, dry and cut treatment. So they can cash.( 120euro for example) but i don't fall for that crap. When i hear that kind of treatments and prices, i search further. Nobody is going to force me into a treatment i don't want. I will search till i find an old school hairdresser who works how they should work. Like back in the days, just cutting and normal prices. No bullshit.
With these curly cuts, everyone looks like they have the same style. It reminds me of Coming to America when that family of Soul Glo got off of the sofa. Not to mention how mean these women are. They are mainly dealing with a style, not the health of your hair.
I feel the beauty industry is biased and potentially racist as well. There’s absolutely no reason anyone should be paying $350 “starting” for a cut. They try to shame you immediately when you want specifics of price. Nobody can land on a price but it’s always significantly more than the quoted starting price. The entire industry shames all curly clients who would ever dare mention cost. Then they gaslight and bully through social media threads to make it out to seem like all the curly clients are out of their mind and the obvious problem as if who wouldn’t expect to take out a loan in order to get a hair trim. Silly women thinking they can get away with only paying 150 bucks for the blow dryer to fart on their head.
You need your "licence" revoked. Shaping, and trimming ends are 2 different things. You shape hair in the way you most wear it ... curly hair tends to coil differently throughout the head for most people ... therefore shaping curly hair whilst straightened will lead to uneveness. If I were you and wanted to keep my "licence", I would say: trim curly hair straightened first, wash it back to curliness then shape it (if that's how one tends to wear the hair ... curly). Also "cutting curly" is not "going curl by curl" (that would be a method amongst many) ... there are many ways to "cut/shape curly" ... in similar fashion to "straight cuts"
If I were going to challenge someone in writing, I would at least not have any misspelled words. It is, “license.” In the future, when you see a word you are typing that is underlined in red, that is your cue to check the spelling for accuracy. You’re welcome.
@@iwilson3950 hahaha you're funny, aren't you!!! Next time you challenge someone on English - check with the English (the Queen "peoples") first. "License" sounds and spells so uneducated and unsophisticated to me ... but what do I know

They do hair well without assigning negative classifications or restrictions. Moral of the story if you want to win at natural hair: Learn the science then perfect your technique. That’s it…that’s the silver bullet.
Thank you! Love the analogy, “curly cuts are like going to the dentist and getting every other tooth cleaned.”
Or like going to the bathroom but not wiping 🧻 😳

If you leave like that initially people will only see how well dressed you are. If they hang around you a little longer then what? The smell kicks in 🫣…

We need to give this man his flowers now🔥👀
🎯🎯🎯 I have never trusted curly cuts for this very reason.
This is Doctor Dickey.
Your knowledge and experience is Phenomenal.
It's never too late to learn the right way.
Thank you so much Dickey.

Thank you for watching!
It looks awful‼️I’ve lost length and the ends of my hair look like rats been chewing & sucking on them‼️🤣
Not to mention, I also followed the BGC’s haircare method and IMO it all destroyed my hair! 😑
I’ve been documenting my experience here on UA-cam and openly discussing it all so people can make a more informed decision for themselves.
Not the chewing and sucking sis😂
Shelly.v.247 I’ve been following your hair journey including your horrible experience with curly cuts. Thanks for continuing to share your experiences; we are listening. I hope you reach you hair goals!
Mine too Sis! My hair is dry and the ends are maimed.
I noticed that after my curly cut. Certain parts of my hair had breakage which created “holes” as they call it but during the cuts those strands were ignored and when I did my own wash I would literally have to find the strands myself and cut them because the ends started splitting a lot. Thank you for this video ❤
I'm sorry that happened 💗
What you stated is exactly what I’m experiencing right now. What did you do to correct the issue?
I am always surprised that his channels don't have more subscribers.
He has spoken!!! (Insert gavel hitting the desk!) Thank you!
Looking forward to see you one day!
Exactly, and if the client wants a wash and go he wets it, reconditions it and then does the wash and go.
People are paying what $250+ to $400 +for barely anything.
You don’t even get a deep conditioning treatment ☹️.

On top of that the one with dry looking blonde hair is a vile human!

Wow, this video sinked into the right corners of my brains and will stay there permanently!😮💨I’m loving that you as expert long in the business is giving much needed answers we all are seeking before curly cuts went viral! Curly Cuts especially on tight curly hair for final shape & the rest on stretched hair to get the thousands of hair strands equally & geometrically evened out!
Brought here from @AfrikanHairGod. He's been very vocal about this for months!
Good for you.
The original wash and go master!!!
Decades and decades!
I am sharing this with some people involved in the controversy!
Thank you!
This is a word!!!! Unfortunately, after many years, I just learned this. I did curly cuts for 6 plus years straight before I realized how damaged my hair was when I blew it out at the salon. Now I know better and I will do better going forward.
I love Mr. Dickey. I’ve traveled to New York twice just so he can do my hair. ❤ And I’ll keep going!!
Hope to see you again soon!
Dickey is the goat. He has books, a product line , salon etc but he will not promote a gimmick to sell more books or more products!!
Bravo Mr Dickey ! 😁😁🤩
So glad to hear from you again!!! Curly cuts has been a HOT issue. Thank you for your input.
And I oop 🤭
Lol I love the very real approach to this topic. So direct 🔥
You are victims you need to start one of those lawsuits.
Bankrupt them into oblivion 🤣🤣✌️
On top of that they are ripping you off price wise.
Even if I wear my hair curly 100% if the time I don’t want my ends chewed up.
Amazing, what state? See I wish you would promote your stylist, does she have a public page or website? $80 is amazing
Hey girl , we got your back!!
Everyone’s hair is different. My high porosity hair does best when cut straight and washed every 2-3 days using conditioner only and clarifying as needed. My curls and the shape have never failed me with this technique. My current issues is finding a stylist after my stylist moved away over five years ago.
That never made sense to me. Thanks for letting me know I'm not trippin
So if trimming hair while curly isn't a good idea what about blow drying the hair on medium to low heat then trim/cut??🤔
You told us this years ago, and it is the truth and makes so much sense!
I all get my hair blown out and flat ironed for my trims. I’ve been natural a long time and my curl pattern has never loosened.
Hi Dickey, I love your content! I live in Montreal, Quebec and dream of coming to your salon one day. Thanks for another great vid.
Hope to see you soon!

Thanks so much. I always wondered if it was smart to get a curly cut. It just didn’t make sense.

On a serious note….which is even funnier….I heard one argument that our grandparents and great grandparents didn’t have tools like the blowdryer and flat iron and they made it…..following the dentist analogy….I also know our ancestors didn’t have all the technology and medicine we have you know if you had to pull out a tooth oh no I wouldn’t want to do it their way.

What about cutting the hair wet? My stylist cuts the hair uses a comb while the hair is wet.
Thank you! That trend needs to be put to rest. 😴
I love your honesty. Thank you!
I think its a matter of how its done and where along the process its cut. I believe if its trimmed in its elongated stay before it has dried and has shrunken, that may be the best time to trim.
I luv being confused of your ethnicity. Just luv it. But on point with hair care. I listening.
This one source I really trust!
Ask Dickey,
I hope that you are doing well 😊! What do you think of parting the hair in the middle and creating 8 twists on each side and trimming the very ends?
Thanks for your question! Watch out for the answer in a future episode :)
Mr. Anthony I am hollering at your comment "getting a curly cut is like going to the dentist and getting every other tooth cleaned" your straight forwardness is one of the traits I admire about you.
😭😭😭😭😭
I wish I had seen this video before I got a curly hair cut about 2 months ago and I hate my hair so much that I just wear it in a wrap or a head scarf.
😂😂😂 I love you already. All these money-grabbing human beings!
Like going to the dentist and getting every other tooth cleaned!😂
Yes! He knows how to put things in perspective to make people think!
How can I get my hands on that cleansing cream. Per Amazon the product is not available.
This!
Hi Dickey! Thank you for making this video! It’s now sunk in for me that curly cuts are not the way to go for my hair type.
Does anyone have any suggestions for locating a hair specialist in N. California tgat cuts curly hair straight?
Thanks
Oh wow, thank you. I thought “curly cuts” were just cutting the hair into a certain shape/style lol.
I had to bc...lost a whole head of hair. TWA cute tho😍
You’re right. It’s ridiculous, I walked out spending $225 for a curly cut😡
Thank you!
The first “curly cut” I had was a Devacut in 2018 and they’ve been around for a long time.
I do believe Lorraine Massey is who he's referring to.
@@BionAvastar3000Exactly! Most things the new age curl specialists are talking about can be found in the Curly Girl Method Handbook by Lorraine Massey (Founder of Deva Cut). LOL! "Curly cuts are like going to the dentist and getting every other tooth cleaned." 🧐
When he is saying that the “creator “ of the curly cut doesn’t account for hair textures he’s not referring to BGC
One of the first proponents of the curly cut was a white woman with curly hair.
@@FMD70757Australian white women to boot.
I definitely think skill level makes a difference. The stylist needs to be good at cutting in any form. My stylist is good at cutting.
