    Despite India having several excellent Neurophysicians, it's almost impossible to give the patients with epilepsy response because they do not know anything at all. The first time I had the attack there was nobody who could help me until it stopped. Then my parents were called and I was taken to the hospital, not for the seisure but for the injuries I had that day.

      Earlier my seizures were strong enough that I fell on the floor, including one when was on a scooter. Obviously I fell with the bike falling on my leg and breaking it. Now that I am having medications, it has come down to a few seconds of what they described complex partial seizures. I am still on medications but the seizures haven't stopped yet.

    I was born with epilepsy and cerebral palsy. I have a twin brother, i was born first. My brother was born with no problems. I take phenytoin for my epilepsy, as a child I was on phenabarbatone, then at 14 i was put on Epilim 500mg. Which caused me to gain lots of weight. I went to live in Canada for a few years where I was taken off eperlim & switched to phenytoin. Which I still take today. As a child I had grand mal seizures, which doctors said I would grow out of. Which I did, but I now have petit mal. It' feels weird when I have it, i can hear all thats going on around me, but ppl and any noise, sound much louder, plus it feels like I'm floating on water. Before the seizure I get the smell like burnt toast. I can have a seizure at any time, night or day. Unpredictable. I feel a little confused when I come round, which lasts for a couple of minutes, then I'm back with you again. Usually a cup of tea helps me recover. I read a lot of blogs where people who shared their testimonies kept mentioning Anti-seizure Herbal medication. I searched for a website I just followed the email address of Doctor Patrick that was shared on these testimonies; I got lucky when I got a reply from Dr. Patrick. I followed his instruction, used Herbal Medicine in less than 2 months, I was already cure because of the changes I was seeing. Within a period of 5 months, I was cured totally forever. I went back to my neurologist, I was checked up and marked epilepsy free. If you need his help you can Contact this herbal doctor via his email herbalmedicalhome@gmail.com and WhatsApp connection is +2348102558553 for help.

    i have always wondered if i had and continue to have seizures - before one of these things i often get weird smells some quite strong and not related to anything around me - i can get visual weirdness like tunnel vision or just not right - my voice starts to sound really squeaky up to a couple of hours before this happens - i can blank out - have fallen down but now try to get down onto something - apparently my head can twitch sometimes other times i blink a lot - i can feel like i am asleep yet awake and cant move - and both bowels and bladder have been known to empty totally - embarrassing to the extreme - my doctor has said i am just dehydrated - these sessions can be spaced well apart or i can have a couple a day - they last about 2 minutes??? - i am extremely tired after these moments - and my speech sounds slurred to me - i have had a head injury about 2.5 years ago and wonder if it is all connected

    • @teresapham4088
      @teresapham4088 6 років тому +1

      musicmad it sounds like it could be connected to your head injury, as that is a risk factor for seizures. Dehydration can cause confusion etc but the symptoms you describe do sound like partial (aka focal) seizures. I would try another doctor or one who is well aware of your head injury.

      Teresa Pham - have seen the neurologist at the hospital - its a 2 and 1/2 hour drive there and 2 and 1/2 hour drive back - he glared at me because i had the nerve to make a complaint years ago about a fellow neurologist - asked a couple of questions - then told me to get on the bed - bring my shoulders up then he rammed them back down - the pain was incredible because i have a frozen shoulder - he grunted after i screamed - was told to lie down - i asked what for he said to test my reflexes - he bashed my left knee with that hammer thing and raked the prong of it up my left foot - he nearly got kicked so i guess good reflexes on that leg - bashed my right knee - i screamed - again - its the knee that was yanked sideways during surgery when i broke my leg and they inserted a titanium rod knee to ankle and have done a lot of nerve damage in the process - he then raked the prong across the sole of my right foot - nothing - got a grunt and told to go and sit back down - he spent the next approx 10 minutes quizzing my husband re my health and then he proceeded to tell me - i faint - i naturally said what???? - so not going back to see him - he is the only neurologist near me and they wont send me to another here because the hospitals are running at a loss so no money no fixing of patients - and life goes on in its funny blanking out way

      You would turn the person over after they are finished having their sezisure. To make sure that their airways are clear and they don't choke- on saliva - never put anything in their mouth. Keep their heads in a downward downward positive. No food or drink and medication until they are fully recovered. Before I have my sezisures I usually get an aura. I know that my sezisures are going to come on. Always put something under the person's head to protect it a jacket a blanket what ever you have near by. I always carry a blanket with me but luckily I haven't had a sezisure in over 8 months. You may want to consider the person who has had a sezisure to get a medic alert bracelet. That when the
      Paramedics arrive they can see what type of sezisure and medication they take. I have one and I never take it off.. One more thing the person who has a sezisure afterwards may be confused and not know what happened. Even bite their tounge. Just talk to them calmy and quitely. Try to keep on looker's away. Always have your cellphone with you!

      I've had Epilepsy since I was 11 or 12. I've never bitten my tongue off. I have bitten it, on several occasions, so I know how that feels. When I was 18 I got my tongue pierced, and for a few weeks, my tongue was swollen and sore, it was a bit of a challenge to eat Ramen(damn noodles would get wrapped around the barbell). But I also kept it very clean and it healed rather quickly. Funny thing is, since I got the piercing, I have not bit my tongue during a seizure. But the best thing you can do for a bit tongue is to keep it clean so that it will heal. Mouthwash is great when you don't have time to brush. Every time you eat, make sure you either use mouthwash or brush your teeth. Last thing you need is tiny particles of food getting in there and causing an infection.

      This has happened to me about 30 times I always have a seizure whilst asleep basically what happens is you get a sign that a seizure is about to happen such as you wake up in the middle of the night and have a headache when it happens to me I’m always sleeping and I wake up before I have a seizure I have a headache and then I normally shout for help as I try to close my eyes as I see flashing lights before it happens but when I close my eyes I fall back asleep and then I have a seizure and when I wake up there are normally people around me to comfort me or a doctor if it lasted over 10 minutes just giving you a heads up to what it’s like to have a seizure at night

    So we can put them on their side while they are seizing?

    • @alexandriacochran482

      Julian Rosario You can try, but sometimes our body's are so stiff and Jerk so much that you can't control how you put us. The side is to help the spit and foam drain so there's no choking on vomit.

      julian, hi mate, let the patient have the sezure on their own,there is nothing you can do at this stage..when the sezure is over then put them in recovery position...but then to be honest they will sometimes come around very confused,imbarrassed and sometimes agro.... its always good to monitor a patient from the head end of the body so if they wake up all of a sudden and agro you can move away quickly.

    My longest complex partial was 2 1/2 days. It was like I blinked my woke up 2 days later. Simple partial are the worst because you can hear people talking but you can’t respond back. I’ve been arrested 4 times for drunk in public because the police said I was drunk and wouldn’t respond. I failed the sobriety test because I couldn’t walk in a straight line. I blew a 0.0 on the breathalyzer though. I made sure I was in court on my trail day though so the judge could chew him up and down for writing someone with a disability a ticket. I guess the disabled can’t go outside and be in public. Be sure and always remain silent! No matter what!

      jeremy stewert True about the being able to hear during the Seizures. I have never herd my name so much as when I started sudden onset partial seizures in 2019. Everyone would say my name and ask questions while I couldn't talk. I learned to close my eyes during because of peoples reactions.
