Finally no more Xbox loading screens loading me in just in time for my boat to sink
Sometimes my loading screen will literally be 5 mins long
That’s a feature not a bug

It will still happen, I moved to pc for faster load times and have SoT installed on an NVME drive, my load times are really good for the most part but if I get a mermaid while my boat is taking on water it tends to black screen me just long enough to sink

On Xbox one, if I get ONE hole in my ship and die, that one hole will have sunk the ship by the time I respawn
Yeah all my friends from school play on xbox and I play on PC. When we get our ship raided by the time they respawn I done respawned died and respawned again.
Sad that this isn't even an exageration

OK, makes sense why some players don't come back to their ship after I killed them if this is the case. it also makes me feel kinda duchy attacking the xbox players to begin with for their loot, don't sound like a fair game :S
Us Xbox one players do have one advantage: we have been able to memorize every single loading screen as we cycle through them three or four times. We have memorized adventure awaits. And we get those beautiful 5 long minutes of getting a snack or something. Needless to say, this will be a lifesaver.
Ever notice the pair of white eyes on the nearby mountain in the loading screen with larinna? Always though that was weird.
Ya im going for ps5 and I won’t get that luxury because it loads even quicker than the series x almost double so i will have to sprint up my stairs to even have a chance to get a big snack without getting kicked for afk

@@DiguyT90 i also forgot to mention that Xbox is capped at 30fps which is terrible for a First person shooter/ view game. I still play on Pc servers to get better but double gunning F's me up real good

@@taylorfriberg3620 not at all man the next gen gpus just came out from nvida and AMD along with cpus from both AMD and intel so prices just dropped on pretty much everything in the used market and some what in the msrp
You gotta spend at least some more than for a console, but think about it this way. You're spending the money in your computer, but you won't have to pay for the internet, which will save you around 60? bucks a year¿ Just multiply by the number of years the generation is expected to last ~7 which means around 350 bucks(if it's 50 a year, 420 if 60). if you spend upwards of that you're paying more than console +internet for hole lifetime.
Also Pc has a lot of good things. You can use it for productivity, you have more games than on console...
And bad things, like there are more cheaters on average, people are a bit more sweaty in pvp games.

@@_noigbdot eh, yeah, you obviously have to have an internet service provided, we all assuming people actually have internet access. I'm talking about the stupid, pointless paywall that consoles have to prevent people that do not pay the "online subscription" from connecting to the servers for the games they have paid for with the internet connection they also are paying for.
If i die and i have ONE small hole in my ship, i will not respawn until the entire ship has sunk thats how long my loading time is

my load time (and i tested) issomehow slower than others and have the xbox one s. like my mermaids took 12 minutes once and didnt even take me back to my ship

Very cool comparison video we can really recognize how far the gaming consoles have come, thanks for creating this, and I don't wish to sound like a fanboy of neither platform, but in my opinion a gaming PC is still superior to anything else because of the amount of freedom you get.

Question: When I die in pvp and go through the door on the ferry, sometimes the loading screen get stuck until just after it's too late to save the ship. Is this a glitch? Is it just bad luck? Is it intentional for whatever reason?
Most of the time, it takes only a few seconds. But when it's an emergency and I need to get back, I find myself just staring at the screen for at least a minute. Even then, the sounds load first, so I can hear my ship sinking, but I'm still in a black screen.
Again, this only happens when I'm being sunk. Never when I'm sinking someone else or I die to pve or whatever else. Only in pvp and only when it would cause me to sink.
Series X with its High-Speed SSD losing out to an HDD just shows that loading times are more down to the developer than just what you're running it off. I would assume that it might be down to server connectivity (And for travelling through mermaid and ferry more about not giving an advantage to people with a better SSD so they hard limit the speed you can respawn) more than actually loading the game, otherwise they need to do some extra work.
At 6:56, how isn't your mouse in-game laggy? Whenever I put in my mouse it feels idk like laggy, the camera moves as if I'd get drop frames, anyone know how to fix it?

Consoles caught up to an old gpu with an hdd for storage, nice, I guess. But the real question is, now that the new consoles are out, is Rare going to increase draw distance for us, or will we still get console levels of draw distance?
Those loading times are insane!! I'm lucky if I respawns in less than 30 seconds
These tests need more samples and more control groups. How far is the mermaid away from the ship? How long has the player been dead? What is the range in load time? What is the average?
I finally won’t have to wait 3 minutes for my friends to load
The real question isn't about keyboard and mouse support, the question is will k&m on the series x have terrible input delay like it did on the xbox one?

If you guys need comparison times for normal xbox loading times for leaving the ferry, It takes about an average of about 15 seconds.(The most I've ever had is 1:30)

These load times from the Mermaid and Ferry are way lower than when I experience them. Mid-battle. When i desperately need to respawn on my boat before it sinks.
The loading times on an xbox one s takes up to 4 minutes to get in the game, and from a mermaid or ferry up to 3 minutes.
It depends on WiFi cause mine takes 15 seconds and for getting in the game 40 seconds (tell me if this was a joke)

I'm getting this for Christmas and that's literally the only game I'm playing, other then vigor.
I mean why would the loading time from main menu to gameplay be faster? Isnt that mostly based on your internet speed and the server? STarting the game should be way faster though.

SSD's degrade over time... HDD's are more consistent and durable.
The loading speed depend on how old the SSD is, if it's bran new, the loading time will be damn near instant, but if it's an old SSD, it could take longer than an HDD. :P

He probably only worries about the initial load. Game loaded in ram its only a limit of how fast the cpu can decompress it. An ssd only takes away some of your need to throw everything into ram at the start because it will load fast anyways. 32gb of ram vs the 5gb usable in xbox one, the xbox is probably actively taking a lot off of the hdd.
Is the series x ssd bad or something, there is no way it was able to perform only as well as a hdd.

I'm pretty sure you got SoT installed on an SSD. With an HDD, even a 7200 RPM dedicated gaming drive i'm stuck in loading screens for about 3-4 times as long.
Any news on Xbox party chat and in game chat at the same time on Xbox? Without that Xbox is still at a disadvantage compared to pc.
I have a pc that's quite good with a 2070 Super, 3800x and 3600 Mhz 32 GB RAM. I don't know if it's a server issue or what, but loading times suck for me

Wowowowow. The loading time is so much quicker because I play it on my Xbox One that’s like five years old and to load up it takes a good 2 to 3 minutes but this is a game changer

Is there any point in not playing at highest settings on console? On pc you’d turn the settings down for higher frame rate but if you’re capped at 60fps I don’t see a point in playing on low.
I think the settings screen is exclusive to PC. I currently play on XB1X and there are no options to change graphical settings.
I haven't got a series console just yet, so I cant be sure, but I think he was comparing the graphics on series X to their PC equivalent, which is basically max.
Why Was the timer you used in the load time show having every second counted after every 600ms (0.6s) that’s not how seconds work but it seems like the time was not effected as the seconds counted up normally so I’m really confused

Also you read it sometimes saying one and a half when it’s 1.3 so clearly you figured it counted as you do seconds in a minute but in fact there are 1000 ms in one second so you may want to re do the times or annotate a correction in because the info you were saying is a bit misleading

Also, using mermaid and the door time depends on bugs and how far away you are.

120Hz is pointless if your game is capped to 60fps. It will create frame tearing issues. My suggestion is for the 4k 60hz monitor :)

The problem is that the Mermaid and Ferry of the Damned times are not always consistent. You can load back on the ship in under 5 seconds, and sometimes you end up having to wait 10 to 15, maybe even more. I'm not saying that the test is not good, but it's super debatable, especially depending on where the ship is and all that stuff. I am 100% sure that the black screen timing is not consistent. And God damn, Pixel, that room looks quite messy.
I'm new to Xbox and my series X should be here in a few days. Is Sea of Thieves worth getting into as a solo player?
Yup, but you have a harder time. I solo a lot. Have plenty of fun. Think of it as hard mode in most other games. lol (and only use the sloop)
I knew there was a loading advantage on PC over xbox one, but didn't realise it was this big. If I'm solo slooping and die once, I'm usually sunk by the time I spawn back. Even taking a mermaid in combat is a huge risk, when you have to deal with 30-40 seconds of black screen just to get back aboard.

I’ve been playing sea of thieves on the series X for a while now And then I tried playing it on Xbox and I don’t understand how people do it my friend who usually plays on Xbox is getting a PC soon and I’m so excited for him to see how beautiful this game actually is
Of course I'm sure the load times and performance _can_ be lessened - multiple ships and lots of particle-heavy treasure can be more taxing than any single island. But that's gameplay, not hardware. This thing is looking to be great for performance.
