- My name is Thane Bishop, and I need to talk about Dogtown.
Night City and Dogtown are both brutal places to live, but each place comes with it's own unique breed of cruelty. Come along with me and explore what makes these two places difficult, and why I believe Dogtown is far worse than it's neon-clad neighbor.

Aah, a fifteen minute video exploring a city. Kinda feels like we've been here before, huh?

Its funny when you get out of Dogtown drive past Pacifica and suddenly you feel like you are a part of civilization again and now its time to behave :)
The thing that got to me about Dogtown was the sheer amount of people on the street openly huffing drugs, blackout drunk, or just lying in public having withdrawals. Very authentic rendition of places hit with the double whammy of economic deprivation and a state that says it's not the state's job to make sure its citizens don't, uh, starve and die
Stellar video essay on stellar game. btw Dogtown has a few graves tucked away in the corner almost forgotten, perfect place for ghosts to lay for eternity.
angler fishes lure thing got me
You deserve soo many more views
That means a lot man, thanks! And we're getting there!
You have some of the best video essays on the whole damn platform, my guy. Keep up the amazing work 👌🏽🔥
1:55 It never occurred to me not to drive in this section
After finishing the expansion, your videos are great to help digest and give closure to that story. Cheers!
Man i love this game! I just finished the story and got the Sun ending and man I still can't put the game down.
4:11 Reconnecting with the average citizen of Night City and how the world looks from *their* perspective is what made the "secret" ending of Phantom Liberty so deeply powerful. V is a killing machine, and Night City feels like a particular kind of place from that level of power; from the average person walking down the street on their way to their shitty job dishing out hyper-processed food at a Capitan Caliente, Night City is a very, very different kind of place.
Amazing video as always Thane!
Dog town felt like a post apocalyptic night city
Beautiful video!
Stellar work dude
Bro your videos are soo high quality!!!
Interesting. I was doing the quest you get in the church against maelstrom. If you get the guy to fess up to where he hid her (nika) brother(Gaspar),she will find him and bury him at a small graveyard near biotecnia. Go at night to see candles there too on the graves. You were saying something about dogtown not having a place for the dead? What do you call that then?
I wont be watching just yet because I still haven't decided if I will buy PL or just watch someone else play through on youtube, but im sure its a great video :]
You owe it to yourself to play if u can spare the 20 bucks it’s well worth it
If you enjoyed base Cyberpunk, I think you'd really like Phantom Liberty if you can get your hands on it
Cdpr make Rockstar and Bethesda look like completle amateurs, their writing is on another level
i'll watch this when i finish the ddlc, but you know, comment for the algorithm or whatever
'Comment for the algorithm or whatever' is the best kind of support, thanks man
algorithm gods please bless thee
Algorithm pleasing comment
Algorithm pleasing response
a 15 minute slog is better than a 90 minute slog
Nicely written, voiced and edited but I offer some criticism: you spent 14 minutes explaining what didn't need saying. Kurt Hansen is a tyrant and he doesn't care about his residents. The game already does everything to explain this to the player - it would be quite impossible not to reach this conclusion by yourself. It would be like making an essay on how the Empire from Star Wars wasn't very nice to its citizens.
Night City isn’t the best example of taxation working lmfao. And yes it is theft.
Right? Who needs roads, electricity, water, heating, new housing etc
