I have both this watch in the black dial, and a meteorite dial Pagani Design version. Watch Dives blows PD out of the water in terms of quality in my opinion!
This WD clomage could win out over my PD version. I appreciate the bezel accuracy, especially “Units Per Hour” instead of “Tachymeter.” The bezel lume is a nice bonus and is better than PD. And I appreciate the discreet WD logo at 12. My PD completely spells out Pagani Design under the logo and it has always bugged me. I just might change over to this WD.
No date, that maybe good or bad. I mean it has the VK63 movement, so does that mean it has a phantom stop for date adjustment? If yes, then I feel that's just a small detail that isn't a wonderful thing to have - I hate having a phantom spot when pulling the crown out. But adding lume to the Units per hour bezel is extremely interesting - glad they did that. Suspect the other manufacturers may follow this. And don't think it's a bad thing that the font is a little thicker (likely to make it easier with adding the lume to that bezel) - I feel it's a nice tasteful detail that helps keep it from being a full out copy of the Daytona. Slightly off topic, I noticed that only the Pagoni Designs incorrectly marked the bezel with Tachymetre instead of copying Rolex's Units Per Hour - guess Pagoni was trying to split the difference between being a Daytona & being a Speedmaster homage (which is interesting given that the Rolex Dayonta it's self could be considered a Speedmaster homage of sorts...). I also like they marked the left hand dial with one minute indices rather then 5 minute ones - another nice detail that none of the other homages I've seen have. I do wish they had done a little detail or other embellishment to the case back. No, no one sees it except when handing it for examining the finer details. I'm neutral on it - just noting that that is something most watch makers are doing and helps keep the watch from being...well, generic. Overall, a very nicely executed product for those that don't mind homage watches by Watchdives.
I bought 3 pagani daytona vk63 homages with different dial colourways, for £78 all in The lume i don't care about, tbh, especially when one gets so much for so little with the pagani, you'd forgive it for its shortcomings.
I've got a PD1644 (paid U$ 38 in a AE sale earlier in March) and won't bother to get this one. That being said, one thing this WD gets right in the bezel is not only the wording but the correct orientation on the numbers: in the PD the numbers of the bezel weirdly get flipped upside down from 200 on.
I really appreciate that Watchdives give their watches good lume, but like you said, on this Daytona it feels like a gimmick. I am bothered by the missing lume on the chronograph hand. I know most people never even use the tachymeter function (me included) but it feels incomplete, an oversight on an otherwise almost perfect watch. They have it 99% complete, that missing lume on the chrono hand was the last 1%. 😧
I'm getting more discriminating in what I buy but with owning the Pagani Speedy and their panda as well I send my regrets . I agree it's worth the money .
The problem with watches from WatchDives will always be the brand name. And it's unfortunate. Just like Tandorio. If there are brands with similar watches, in a similar price range, with a better name, they will get the nod from most people.

Beautiful lume and yes, the no date is a plus as well. But for €50 less I went for a PD. From a distance they look all the same...
Pagani still hard to beat for a budget chronograph I feel.
It's a nice looking watch and I prefer a no date dial.
It's really beautiful, it's much better than pagani, I have the white one and yesterday I bought the black too for 63 euros....

Just looking at dial and legibility, Sugess gets my vote due to large ring around subdials and black hands all around.

the sugess isn't running a VK? It doesn't have the 24hr indicator at 3.
Sugess is running Automatic mechanical movement based on Valjoux 7750 architecture.
