Something to consider about the old Disney-MGM Studios and Universal Studios Florida, is that when they opened they were actually working film studios, so many of the sound stages were actually in use. When you took a behind the scenes tour, you got to see behind the scenes of actual movies and shows that were being made. Without that authentic aspect, the movie studio theming doesn't do much because it's so bare-bones. But if you know that something cool is being made behind those boring walls, it brings a sense of wonder.
They were BARELY working studios. They had the Animation building, which they decided shouldn't look like a big ugly box, even though "big ugly box" was a perfectly fine theme for many of the attractions. All the actual working soundstages were in the backlot, so they weren't even seen unless you took the Backlot Tour. This wasn't a "theme" as much as it was the easiest way to throw together this park before Universal Studios built theirs. At least Universal's "soundstage" theme was meant to be an actual theme and not horrifying cheapness. And then there's the Lower Lot in Hollywood, which is literally amongst working soundstages. (Universal's soundstages never bothered me because they are all clumped together, so it did feel a bit like the Backlot in Hollywood. Disney uses the soundstages, but they're here and there, separated by other things, so they're not at all reminiscent of a working studio. That makes them come off like a design choice, not a theme park that grew out of a working studio. Also, it's all just this sea of beige. For a company that is beloved for its animation, beige is NOT a good color representation for a theme park.)
@@kevinbhieey9188 Barely working is enough to create a sense of wonder to satisfy your average tourist, though (it certainly did for me when I was a little kid in the early 90's). I also don't think it's quite fair to say that either studio park was a "barely" working studio, even though they declined fairly quickly and eventually became inactive. A good bit of the Disney renaissance films were worked on in Florida, and who can forget the Nickelodeon studios next to Universal Orlando? Also, the original layout of Disney-MGM studios actually did have the production facilities clustered together and separated from the theme park areas. When the park opened, you didn't even get to see the Streets of America section unless you took the backlot tour. Disney didn't get the bookings they were anticipating at their Florida studio, so they expanded the theme park into the original production areas and backlot, leading to the kind of hap-hazard layout of the park. Anyway, the point I was trying to make with my original comment, is that Disney chose the studio theme for their second Paris park without understanding what made that theme work at the parks in the US.
Universal Hollywood studios is the only park the has truly pulled off ‘’major production place you can tour/see” but that’s a nonreplicable thing. I am not against studio style parks, but they struggle a lot more than circle/hub and spoke land based parks as they extend. Studio theming struggles to be fantastic, but it isn’t bad by any means in my books, but when Disney and universal, the parks meant to be fantastic but costier a studio theme can restrict that. It’s an interesting trend that had a lot of cool things and advantages but also was quite flawed
I’d still rather go to the “worst” of the Six Flags parks, ANY day, over MGM/Hollywood/Disney studios, or Universal Studios (not including Islands of Adventure of course). Even the lamest Six Flags parks have more and better attractions than these studio parks.
@@erikm8372you do realize that Universal Studios has probably some of the best simulator and dark rides ever and one of the best themed areas with Diagon alley and gringotts
At least you went AFTER they added stuff. Back when it opened there was no Tower of Terror, no Ratatouille and no Toy Story land. It was smaller than one LAND in the sister park
I never believed all the negativity about this park until I visited it - it’s just a soul destroying experience. Went in, rode tower and ratatouille, then left never to return. Really is such a disappointment and not worth entry
I mean if you'd only ride two attractions and call it a day you're wrong. I've been to this park my whole life and never have I ever believed the negativity about it. I mean it's great ! Even though they're cutting one of the best thing if the park (for a retheme) I think it's really good cause of the attractions (ratatouille, Hollywood tower of terror, RC racer, crush coaster...) it deserves for you to reconsider your thoughts about it
This was a phase Disney was going through at the time. They built DCA around the same time and had the same issues, as well as the Chester and Hester area at DAK. While they did try to fix DCA, sadly, because nobody really cared about the Disneyland Paris property they have just kept putting off re-doing this park for decades. The Dinoland area is finally on the chopping block. Personally I think DCA being right down the street from the companies HQ where all the execs had to live next to it had a lot to do with that lol.
I forgot to include Hong Kong as well which was a tiny, budget oriented park with barely anything to do as well. That was the last of that round of poorly conceived Eisner projects before the board finally gave him the boot.
@Luke Go Correct when the deals were signed to build Euro Disney the company made an agreement with the French government that they would build another park within a certain timeframe, but Disneyland Paris was pretty much a flop and they didn't want to spend a lot of money on the other park.
@Luke Go Based off my experience going to Disneyland Paris over the years it seemed like after it opened and flopped, then perpetually lost money for a couple decades, they didn't care much about the property until after the Walt Disney company bought out whole thing in 2017.
I'm so glad OLC said no to hollywood studios theme. originally Disney was trying to make a studios themed park like this one next to Tokyo disneyland but OLC was like no that sounds bad so Disney sea was created.
Disney exec 1: "The Europeans hate Euro Disney! Let's open a second gate to attract more visitors, and do it cheap and quick!" Disney exec 2: "We'll make a studio park like Disney-MGM Studios which people like now, but do it like California Adventure, which people hate!" Exec 1: "Brilliant! What could go wrong?!"
here's a weird fact about this park: when it first opened it only had 3 rides: rock n' rollercoaster, the magic carpet ride and the studio tour. so weird, isn't it?
I visited Disneyland Paris in 2006 and was totally impressed. Such a beautiful park. Walt Disney Studios, on the other hand, completely disappointed me. Lackluster attraction choices, poor park layout, unexciting theming, and an overall bland experience. Living in Anaheim at the time, I thought that the original California Adventure was Disney's blunder in theme parks. Yet, WDS was worse. It will be interesting to see the new additions, even though Disney has upgraded the park since my visit.
Went on a family trip recently with young kids and there was quite a lot for them in this park, but we had a 2 day ticket for both parks so it felt more like a few bonus attractions to do on the second morning rather than anything standalone. Visiting that park alone would be a major disappointment.
I actually prefered what the park was like when it opened to what it is now. At least it felt authentic and really brought you backstage to experience what it was like to shoot a movie. (I actually work on movie sets now in large part thanks to that experience that got me fascinated with movie making) Now it's just another collection of bland Disney IP rides... Where are the original attractions ?? My two favorite Disney rides are Space Mountain de la Terre à la Lune and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Couldn't give a damn about Marvel, Star Wars or Pixar rides. Want to know what Disney should be building ? Look at Phantasialand and F.L.Y that ride and area is an absolute masterpiece. Way more beautiful and exciting than anything Disney built in a verrry long time.
As someone who visits DLP every year, this park is like a car accident. I know how horrible it is, yet can't stop looking at it. I have fond memories of the park and don't hate it as much as a lot of other people. The Cars Road Trip ride straight-up feels like a shitpost, yet I love Tower of Terror and Ratatouille.
I went here in March and loved it. But, I do agree with your points. Crush's is very basic when it shouldn't be. RC Racer is an odd choice, I didn't think the ride itself was terrible, I enjoyed it even if it wasn't a major attraction. I'm sure once the expansion(s?) are in, it'll be a much better place to visit. I've got to admit though, tower of terror may be 80% of why I enjoyed my day here so much.
The first few years of this park were even worse! No ToT, Crush's Coaster, Toy Story or Ratatouille. To be fair though, the shows were always good. Like the original Light Motors Action stunt show and CinéMagique.
Disney is in the gutter. Doesn't surprise me at all that the Rock N Roller coaster overlay is terrible, they now decide to build attractions based purely on corporate synergy and not on quality experience.
I do not get this park. No idea what it is except something to build the Tower of Terror around. Much less that this is in the top 5 of most visited parks in Europe.
Just went a couple of weeks ago. I have no idea how you can stand the indoor main street area, I went into the restaurant, turned around, and the facade was obviously just a plywood cutout. Toon Studio is a waste of an awesome concept, especially towards the front. Avengers was okay. The whole place feels like a parody of studio parks.
We never actually walked around any of the restaurants inside, we just walked through the building in one way out the other. Sad to hear they're just sad facades
I’ve been going to WDS since it opened. It used to be a pretend ‘film studio’ and all of the attractions fed into that idea - even the Flying Carpets was set up as ‘shooting a scene’. As the park has expanded, that idea has been lost, so now we have a collection of rides with no relationship to one another. The Frozen area is going to make that aspect even more pronounced.
Just went to this park for a few days and it was disappointing. Half the park was covered in construction walls and tower of terror wasn’t working very often. Crushes coaster and the avengers land were cool though, still very disappointing
Just back from the resort, Disneyland Paris park is great but Walt Disney studio is run down and a mess, all the lines are long due to how little rides there are and the amount of rides they took away to add little in is unbelievable
Yes, that park is diasappointing. The more I dont understand why they did not build a galaxys Edge there. Rise of the resistance would draw huge crowds to the park. There are millions of StarWara fans in europe, too. They skip the most popular franchise Disney has. Really hard to understand.
@@me-myself-i787 Marvel might be more popular with the kids. But I know sooo many people thst love Star Wars. Anyway, we did not went to see Avengers Campus. Not worth paying so much money. We will be in Anaheim this Summer to finally see Galaxys Edge. And therefore the Star Wars Fans won't go to Paris. So Disneyland Paris will loose these visitors.
The shout out ot Park Asterix at the end; spot on! It's only roughly an hour and a half drive from the Disney parks too. Funny how your thoughts echo exactly what 99% of themepark enthousiasts feel like about this park. It really needs an eye catcher to be put on the map. While the Frozen land will be great for family's and hopefully bring some of that Disney shine I wonder if it'll be enough. And with Avengers Campus setting the current example, I don't think we should get our hopes up.
The 2D feel this park has feels sad...Couldn't they at least use projection screens to make the walls more interactive? I feel bad for Paris, they should have as good of a theme park as us Americans do.
@@me-myself-i787 - True, but after Disney finishes with the Phase 1 expansion of Walt Disney Studios (renamed: Disney Adventures World), they need to start updating and expanding Disneyland Paris. It is the main park and has been stagnant for over 30 years. Disney needs to give more Europeans, and even American tourists, a reason to visit. It is the only way to boost attendance. Revert Space Mountain into its original theme, build that unique mini-Galaxy’s Edge with the speeder-bike roller coaster, add “Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway” but with a different story and the classic animation style, and finally give Disneyland Paris the actual “Indiana Jones” dark ride for starters. Then perhaps add something like a “Beauty and the Beast” attraction, or a mini-Villains Land within Fantasyland. It is not like the expansion pads are not already built into the park.
I was about 9-years-old when I first visited this park in 2004. I didn't hate it or anything, but even at that tender age I knew it didn't compare with the park next door. The theming was flimsy, the aesthetics were thread-bare, and the attractions were lackluster. Some of the shows were fun, but it felt like these were padded out by wide, empty walkways and cheap rides. I'm glad they're expanding the park, but the theming is now completely gone. It's no longer about the "magic of movie-making", but just an IP dumping ground with a themed entrance. What upsets me is that it's really not hard to stick with the "movie-making" theme. You can even mix it with IPs. Just make it like the Toy Story 2 "bloopers", where the gag is that the characters are all actors in their own movies, and are aware of the fact they're being filmed. That way, you get the best of both worlds, where the characters are real but they're also aware that they're part of the film industry.
Been there quite a number of times from shortly after it opened until most recently I think 8 or 9 years ago. But always combined with the main park. And to me, it has always felt like that, basically just an extra world. And looked at is as such, it was okay at best. But just on its own, no, hell no! And keep in mind that Tower of Terror and Crush's Coaster and most other rides you mentioned were only added years after opening, at first the Aerosmith Coaster was basically the only big ride. The Armageddon thing was pretty bad (even worse than the movie), and they had a boring studio tram tour. The only saving grace were some shows (AniMagique, CineMagique, Moteurs Action), all of which are gone now. If the lines aren't too bad (unfortunately Crush's Coaster is indeed a disaster in that regard...) it's good for half a day, then switch to the other park.
If you thought the current park was bad, then you REALLY wouldnt want to be in the park on opening day. There was no tower of terror nor any of the pixar attractions, the studio tram tour was an inferior copy of the one in florida (which had already just lost its walking portion of the tour at the time), and there was only THREE rides at the park (the aforementioned studio tour, rock n roller coaster, and the magic carpets of aladdin which i feel was only put in walt disney studios because there wasnt any room to put it in adventureland at the main disneyland park next door) with most of the attractions being shows. The park even today is worse than dca in its original incarnation and Im kinda worried that the new expansion would only mildly improve it especially since we saw how terrible avengers campus in paris is
MGM studios, Hollywood studios, whatever wherever… the world’s most boring parks and just as pointless as Universal Studios-not counting Islands of Adventure-who were the whole competitive reason for Eisner opening MGM!! “Let’s open another rival boring park,” said Eisner. Virtually no rides, dumb shows and attractions, and just more opportunities to eat, shop and spend. Like, there’s no point. I’ve only been to these places, including Universal Hollywood, because I didn’t pay for the ticket, haha
@@aarusharya5658 - Hollywood Studios became a great theme park, because Disney realized the backlit studio theme was dumb and outdated. So, it gradually turned into a movie adventure park, with an art deco themed hub.
There WERE two reasons for this place’s existence most of this past decade….Animagique, a fantastic film with Martin Short, and Remy Ratatouille Adventure….Remy’s is now at Epcot, and the Martin Short movie is gone….so, yeah, nuke the damn place and start over
Probably because the Japanese parks are owned by the Oriental Company rather than Disney. Most of Disney's own parks are overpriced. Disneyland Paris is great, but is it really worth double what Europa-Park costs?
I always do both parks on the same day, over a weekend. I would never do one park only, and there’s plenty of things to do if you combine. Shows are nice enough at the studios, and the shopping area is the better one in all the resort. Gusteau’s restaurant is also the best restaurant in all Disneyland Paris. Of course this park is the worst Disney park in the world, but combined with the regular park, it’s what makes Disneyland Paris a good alternative to the american parks. I won’t compare the Paris experience to the american parks but for exemple the Tower of Terror is my favorite version of this ride in the world (I did them all). So: is it the worst, yes, should I skip it while in Paris, no because some parts of it are worth a visit if you combined both Paris parks.
I have been to all the Disney parks now and I agree Disney Studios is the worst. Second worst is the Magic Kingdom though *shocked and disgusted sounds everywhere
@@me-myself-i787 absolutely. The Magic Kingdom is a dump. It just gets credit because it’s the Lead Park at Disney World. And Disney Works is the second worst Disney resort. I’m full of hot takes today…. 🤣
Hopefully, the additions of the Frozen and Star Wars areas (assuming that the second one is still on the table) can liven this park even more. But if possible, I think this entire park needs an overhaul. Maybe they should bring more areas based on other popular IP's like Zootopia and Avatar into the park, and make this Disney's version of Warner Brothers Movie World in Australia (and then do the same to Hollywood Studios in Florida afterwards).
I actually think that when they open that frozen land thins park might be good. Obviously there can be some ride refurbs on RC racer and make actual trains on crush coaster. Maybe they can also refurb and improve flight force. I think having that option to go forward to frozen land will save the park. And CARS road trip would make an amazing expansion platform. There is work to be done, but its already underway. I think it'll be good to check up on the park once they've cleaned up the mess
I spent like 3/4 of a day there with my mum. We started with the Pixar Musical (it was great), then we visited Ratatouille with Premier Access, after that we watched Mickey and the Magician (it was great, too) and at last we walked through Avengers Campus to the Alice: Back to Wonderlands show (was we liked the most, actually). After that we walked into the main park for some Star Tours and chill. We had a great experience with the Studio Park, we just used it mainly for the musical shows 🥰
"And those handful of rides are not done well" and has a shot of Ratatouille, easly one of the most creative rides disney done in years, so much so they want it in other parks!
I have been going there at least once a week when i had a season pass (at a time it was still affordable) and i agree with everything you said. This park is sad. I used to ride rock'n roller coaster and tower of terror. All the rest is completely forgetable. The stunt show was great, but it is now gone. Now that i don't have a season pass anymore and prices have skyrocketed, i never go there anymore. If you are traveling to Paris, definitely go to the main park instead.
It is really not that bad if you combine it with the other park. It has great rides. It’s just small and until construction is completed, it is ugly. But crush coaster, tower of terror, avengers flight force, ratatouille and even web adventure are all really fun rides. It is not a park to visit on it’s own, but since most visitors probably stay at a hotel, you spend several days at both parks, which makes it a great place to do some great rides. But yes, they need to (and are currently doing) redesign. And I don’t agree with your critique on crush coaster, it fits the theme perfectly, rides very smooth and has fun theming. The RC racer obviously only has 1 train, it is basically a swinging ship, this is just the nature of the ride. The overlay for flight force, in my opinion, is pretty good. The outside theming is so much better than before and it just all fits together well. The ride itself is fun, but the screens are low quality, that is the only problem I have, but it rides pretty well and the story is clear. For anyone basing their decision to visit off of this video: the park has solid rides, some times better than the castle park. It is however, just an addition to the experience, it is not the experience itself. With the current design of the park it is not a place you would stay at, but it is a must for the rides! Soon, the park should also look good and then it may be able to fill your entire day in stead of switching to the castle park halfway trough the day. And about park Asterix, yes, go there, it is fun, but it does not match up in terms of theming. Some rides are really great, but there are many mediocre ones. The park also has no dark rides. Most Disneyland Paris visitors probably find visiting the American parks a step too far, so if you compare it to other European parks, the park (both combined that is) holds up well against Europapark, phantsialand and Efteling (some of the best in Europe). Don’t let yourself be discouraged from visiting from this video, decide what fits your preferences.
I went while Avengers campus was under construction and before they rethemed the tour to Cars (we got a behind the scenes look at props from such blockbusters as the hit TV mini-series Dinotopia).
I would say that we've been twice and loved it but by the second time the limits of its appeal were more evident and we lacked the wider perspective of someone who's been to better parks elsewhere.
At the moment, I think they have no idea where there going to with the new expansions and I am afraid about how "low budget" the current expansions are and the previous one were. Crush Coaster could have been cool but the outside is so low budget, the whole Toy Story Land is some kind of fair with much plastic added. In WebSlingers, they are references to Mission Break out which is not even in this park. Tower of Terror is great but it was copying (for low budget puproses) what was there in California, but well done for a copy. Ratatouille is probably the only good thing the park has designed until now. The park was meant to be the "magic behind the cinema" as a main theme and now it is a collection of areas related by the fact they are movies... They should give it a new name like "Disney Movie World" by Aldi or something. I actually like Front Lot and Studio 1, too bad they are going to change studio 1 into a "market square"! And Oh yes, Temporary at Disneyland Paris means "intented to be". So you can assume Cars Road Trip will remain.
This is the park that told DCA 1.0 to hold its wine. Truly the most unacceptable park Disney ever constructed. Even worse when you remember that it's RIGHT NEXT DOOR to what is widely considered to be the second most gorgeous Disney park behind Tokyo DisneySea! "Night and Day" doesn't even BEGIN to describe the contrast! XD
We visited DLP for the first and only time in November 2021. It was still under Covid restrictions so we had to wear facemasks even outside and there were no fireworks, so that kinda sucked. Regardless, we loved Disneyland Park and had a brilliant few days. WDS was a huge disappointment to us. At that time, Avengers Campus was still nearly 6 or 8 months away from opening so that park had nothing to offer besides the Tower and Ratatouille. Crush was always on an hour wait, we did it once just to do it and that was it. RC Racer is a pathetic excuse for a coaster, waited 45 minutes for that and was disappointed with the less than one minute cycle time. Bah!! Maybe we'll go back when Frozen opens, but like you say, Parc Asterix is the place to go and it's on our list! Hey Taylor and Sarah, will ye come to Ireland on one of your Coastin' thru Europe trips? We'll have 6 coasters in Emerald Park if the Vekomas actually open next year!! Ok, so nothing to put on a bucket list for you guys with your huge credits and history riding coasters of all types (we'll have 1 kiddie, 2 family, 2 family thrill and 1 trill with our Gravity Group woodie Cu Chulainn) but still, come to Ireland for a weekend visit and stop by Emerald Park for a day!
It was never anyone's favourite park, but it's been left in a state of flux since the planned expansions (which have all been delayed) and all the changes the current parts are undergoing. Visiting before the current changes might have actually been a better experience, even if some of the attractions weren't the most exciting, or up to date. At least the park felt more "filled out" back then, but it's been left very empty recently, and the Avengers Campus is a debatable improvement, especially with the loss of the original Rockin' Roller Coaster. It's unfortunately become very emblematic of the current state of Disney.
@@AudreyMealiff I mean obviously the WDW version has better effects, but it was still fundamentally the same ride. I rode it 7 times in a row once because there was no queue. Rock music synced up to a roller coaster was always appealing to me.
@@EuroMIX2 I got to ride the Hollywood Studios version back in 2009, very much enjoyed it. Studios needs a strong coaster, is there anything planned in the Frozen expansion?
This and Hong Kong Disneyland are at bottom of the chain. Disney parks at the top are Disneyland, magic Kingdom, shanghai Disneyland, disneysea, Epcot and Hollywood studios.
I'm just happy we get some kind of expansion for this park. I've been to disneyland paris a hand full of times as I live in europe (Belgium to be exact) and going to the studios park was always like sure we'll go for like 3-4 rides and thats it. So i'm just glad they are doing something to improve the park
In my opinion it feels like Disneyland Paris is the little stepchild, that only gets the leftovers. Not everything, but a lot is just a copy of other parks or are also I. Other parks now and the few things only Paris has, are not that good or without any heart or good concept. Like everything is just rushed and not good planned like „who cares, it’s just Europe, let’s keep the good stuff for ourself or Asia). Originally they had planned to make three parks till 2026, now they aren’t even finished with the second one and I know there was Corona in between, but the Frozen part is taking forever now and we don’t even get a new coaster/thrillride…
@@Golf2foto I know Disneyland Anaheim is way older, but to think, that only the Disneyland park has about 10 more attractions than in Paris and the studios are still the smallest park, is just frustrating. Also there are for example so many kiddy coasters and dark rides for Disney movies in Anaheim and that’s what Paris really needs =____= (plus thrill rides of course)
As much as I love the main park, I think Paris is just a massive disappointment to Disney as a whole, even the rules and guidelines aren’t as strict there I was disgusted with some of the slogans that teens had on their shirts. One straight up said F off, infront of children. No other park would stand for that.
Depends which Six Flags you're talking about. From what it seems, it's definitely worse than Great America, Fiesta Texas, Great Adventure and Magic Mountain, and Over Texas, but it might be better than La Ronde and Over Georgia and it's definitely better than Darien Lake, Great Escape, Frontier City and America. So it basically seems to be on par with a mid-tier Six Flags park.
I live in relatove proximity to Disney World, so I've been there quite a few times. When I went to Disneyland Paris and the Walt Disney Studios Park last year, I was quite disappointed overall. I new it was going to be smaller, but it felt like I could walk all of WDS in 5 minutes. Additionally, you could tell that there was barely any investment into that park comapred proportionally to Disney World. I wouldnt want to go back until they add a bunch more and uigrade what they have.
i visited this park 6 years ago and have no reason to come back i skipped it my last 2 visits to disneyland paris resort. and the new expansion doesnt look to good tbh i think a todler could think of a better way to spend 2 billion dollars and fix this park.

So... what percentage of your soul dies when you have to film and edit money shots for a park with almost no money shots? Also, Frozen will not be the solution here. The one in Hong Kong is going to be getting a Seven-Dwarfs-esque coaster ride along with a clone of the Epcot ride that annoyingly changes the words to the songs. All Paris is getting is the clone. Still, the land promises to at least be the first attractive one they've built. Some websites are acting like this will be the savior, which is hilarious. Imagine walking down a long walkway to a small lake and across the way is basically Epcot's Norway pavilion! Wow? Oh wait, there will be a little Elsa's Ice Castle on the mountain!!! People think Bob Iger will fix this park, but Iger had 15 years to fix this park and this is what we got! (He also had 15 years to make California Adventure, Animal Kingdom and the Orlando Studios into full-day destinations and we didn't get any of that either. Good ol' Budget-Bustin' Bob!) If you guys visited outside summer, it would at least cost under $100. Barely, but still...
Animal Kingdom is great. There's Expedition Everest, which is Disney's best rollercoaster, and Flight of Passage, which is a really great flying theatre. And it has immaculate theming throughout except in Dinoland USA. It is somewhat lacking in the number of attractions, but it is still a really great park which you could spend a full day at. You couldn't spend multiple days, but that's what the Magic Kingdom is for.
I never been to this park before, but it's a good thing I never did! Otherwise it will waste my time! If I was going to take a trip to a Disney park in Europe, it will be Disneyland Paris! That's a better one more than that stupid messed up theme park!
I remember tot letting me down cause the drops weren't as intense cause it was a lil janky.. big thunder tho is probably the best cause it feels out of control especially in the tunnel

It’s an interesting trend that had a lot of cool things and advantages but also was quite flawed
six flags can finally laugh at someone
I’d still rather go to the “worst” of the Six Flags parks, ANY day, over MGM/Hollywood/Disney studios, or Universal Studios (not including Islands of Adventure of course). Even the lamest Six Flags parks have more and better attractions than these studio parks.

Back when it opened there was no Tower of Terror, no Ratatouille and no Toy Story land.
It was smaller than one LAND in the sister park

Thats really sad lol

I never believed all the negativity about this park until I visited it - it’s just a soul destroying experience. Went in, rode tower and ratatouille, then left never to return. Really is such a disappointment and not worth entry
I’ve been plenty of time and I still don’t believe the negativity
You mean you didn’t ride Crush’s Coaster wtf-?!
DCA is kinda good at least now
didn’t Tokyo DisneySea open the same year as this and DCA
I'm so glad OLC said no to hollywood studios theme. originally Disney was trying to make a studios themed park like this one next to Tokyo disneyland but OLC was like no that sounds bad so Disney sea was created.
Disney exec 1: "The Europeans hate Euro Disney! Let's open a second gate to attract more visitors, and do it cheap and quick!"
Disney exec 2: "We'll make a studio park like Disney-MGM Studios which people like now, but do it like California Adventure, which people hate!"
Exec 1: "Brilliant! What could go wrong?!"
they didn’t have much of a choice, they were obligated to build a 2nd gate in a set period of time
If they hadn't opened quickly they could never open it. The french government gave them a time limit
here's a weird fact about this park: when it first opened it only had 3 rides: rock n' rollercoaster, the magic carpet ride and the studio tour. so weird, isn't it?
Nah who tf is stupid enough to get scammed by that😂
They were forced to open the second park quickly cause of the french government.
RC Racer was planned to be 2 coasters next to each other, but budget cuts...
(I actually work on movie sets now in large part thanks to that experience that got me fascinated with movie making)
Now it's just another collection of bland Disney IP rides...
It’s an underrated park
I went here in March and loved it. But, I do agree with your points. Crush's is very basic when it shouldn't be. RC Racer is an odd choice, I didn't think the ride itself was terrible, I enjoyed it even if it wasn't a major attraction. I'm sure once the expansion(s?) are in, it'll be a much better place to visit.
I've got to admit though, tower of terror may be 80% of why I enjoyed my day here so much.
Yeah same. I always enjoyed it but it's just really not up to par. Tower of Terror is the definition of MVP here.
Something is very very wrong at Disney as an entire company. They are losing the creativity we know them for :(
The first few years of this park were even worse!
It's too small, that's the major problem with this hopeless park
I’ve been going to WDS since it opened. It used to be a pretend ‘film studio’ and all of the attractions fed into that idea - even the Flying Carpets was set up as ‘shooting a scene’. As the park has expanded, that idea has been lost, so now we have a collection of rides with no relationship to one another. The Frozen area is going to make that aspect even more pronounced.
Just went to this park for a few days and it was disappointing. Half the park was covered in construction walls and tower of terror wasn’t working very often. Crushes coaster and the avengers land were cool though, still very disappointing
"Props" from the Cars films.
Way to immerse your audience Disney.
I'm pretty sure the MCU is more popular than Star Wars. But Avengers Campus is not very good.
Yyyyeahhhh, I can understand completely all the points you brought up...I do feel like this part is the lowest of the low of the Disney Chain...
Yes It Is DISNEY And Actually It's The Best I'm A Huge DISNEY Fan It Helps Me Going Through My Tough Times And Depressions I Love DISNEY
Thank you that’s what I’m trying to say
The 2D feel this park has feels sad...Couldn't they at least use projection screens to make the walls more interactive? I feel bad for Paris, they should have as good of a theme park as us Americans do.
They have Disneyland Paris, which is one of Disney's better parks. It's just Walt Disney Studios, the smaller park built next door, which is bad.
Is Web Slingers commonly considered a bad ride? We had a lot of fun on it at DCA.
@Coaster studios do you think avengers campus in California is better?
yes
Hollywood studious is a great park. Great rides such as tower of terror and rock n roller coaster, nicely themed areas including galaxys edge.
@@aarusharya5658 - Hollywood Studios became a great theme park, because Disney realized the backlit studio theme was dumb and outdated. So, it gradually turned into a movie adventure park, with an art deco themed hub.

I've done both in their opening years. Old DCA is better than current WDS!

It's on the to do list, though it might be a while longer- there's a handful of parks that are in more need of a re-review first
@@CoasterStudios Glad to hear it’s on the to-do list, thanks for the response.

Even if it is Disney, we can not expect much from France
There WERE two reasons for this place’s existence most of this past decade….Animagique, a fantastic film with Martin Short, and Remy Ratatouille Adventure….Remy’s is now at Epcot, and the Martin Short movie is gone….so, yeah, nuke the damn place and start over
$124 for the France parks?? You realize the Japan parks can be experienced for less than $80/day?? Quel Tragique!
Probably because the Japanese parks are owned by the Oriental Company rather than Disney.
Most of Disney's own parks are overpriced. Disneyland Paris is great, but is it really worth double what Europa-Park costs?
@@me-myself-i787Yeah, no!
They have some good rides but definitely a weak Disney park
this is like if they hired six flags to build a disney park and I think that’s even an insult to six flags
I love the Main Park, i hate that they not have the Space Mountain Jule verne Theme anymore. They say they will convert it back but they dont do it.
I have been to all the Disney parks now and I agree Disney Studios is the worst. Second worst is the Magic Kingdom though *shocked and disgusted sounds everywhere
You're not wrong!
Worse than California's Adventure?
We had a great experience with the Studio Park, we just used it mainly for the musical shows 🥰
Now it got a rename… Disney Adventure World.
Disney California Adventure cheering "We're Number 2 (worst)!" LOL
Nope Hong Kong Disneyland is (ocean park is superiorly better)
This is the Six Flags equivalent of a Disney theme park.
I would take many Six Flags parks over this one!
@@CoasterStudios same here!
the "La ronde" of the disney parks. Heck, they're both French parks (even tho la ronde is in a french province)
"And those handful of rides are not done well" and has a shot of Ratatouille, easly one of the most creative rides disney done in years, so much so they want it in other parks!
I wasn’t very impressed with Ratatouille at all, it has poor use of the trackless ride system
“This isn’t disney”
Well, it actually is…
It is really not that bad if you combine it with the other park.
When this park opened the company behind it was not Disney, Disney fully took control of Disneyland Paris a couple of years ago.
I went while Avengers campus was under construction and before they rethemed the tour to Cars (we got a behind the scenes look at props from such blockbusters as the hit TV mini-series Dinotopia).
Let’s hope Frozen can bring some life to this place!
XD
:(
Tokyodisneysea sucks
I agree on a lot but I do like the Front Lot / entrance area, especially when it still had the original BGM
I agree 100% it's a shitty/expensive park. The only nice attraction there is Tower of Terror, al the rest sucks big time!

@@EuroMIX2 I wish I'd gotten a run on Rock n Roller coaster. I think it was a better coaster than flight force.

I agree. Disney in Paris is lame compared to CA and Orlando.
@@Golf2foto I know Disneyland Anaheim is way older, but to think, that only the Disneyland park has about 10 more attractions than in Paris and the studios are still the smallest park, is just frustrating.

As much as I love the main park, I think Paris is just a massive disappointment to Disney as a whole, even the rules and guidelines aren’t as strict there I was disgusted with some of the slogans that teens had on their shirts. One straight up said F off, infront of children. No other park would stand for that.
I went phantasialand a couple years ago and some middle aged dude had a graphic pornhub shirt tbf
Better or worse than six flags?
I agree with everything he says, but every ride he talked about(with the exception of road trip) was actually a good ride experience

So... what percentage of your soul dies when you have to film and edit money shots for a park with almost no money shots?
Tower of terror ate though
Europa Park and Phantasialand > Disneyland Paris
I love Disneyland Paris ❤
Me too
I enjoyed this park as a kid. That Armageddon ride wowed me, and there was a cowboy show that was fantastic.
found this video right after ordering tickets.. at least its two park tickets😬
I thank it would be hilarious if disney installed a vekoma boomerang at one of thare parks
Nooo, WEB is my favorite attraction, it’s so good!
I went here in 2012 and was not great at all compared to the main park with was amazing
I remember tot letting me down cause the drops weren't as intense cause it was a lil janky.. big thunder tho is probably the best cause it feels out of control especially in the tunnel
The drops are literally faster than WDW
@@jakedlp_ Interesting, I went in 2020 and wasn't even a smooth ride and not really any floater maybe they have better maintenance now
@@ZachJudd that's not how it works
@@jakedlp_ well how else do the improve a ride lol
@@ZachJudd the motors won't randomly start being slow
come back in a year, you´ll see
See what
i completely agree
