When walking towards Buckingham Palace. Also you passed the church opposite the Tower of London. All hallows by the Tower. This is where John Quincy Adams Us President married his wife Louisa. He was the USA ambassador at the time. It’s the oldest church in the city of London.

As a Londoner I’m not sure why so many tourists consider Leicester Square an attraction. It’s somewhere best avoided in my opinion, like Oxford Street (except for Selfridges).
The best comment on Leicester Square I heard, was one from a comedy series some years ago. The observation was that if 'A nightingale sang in Leicester Square' - one of bums who hang out there would eat it.

If you are doing it with a baby, you should always navigate from museum to museum. The toilets and baby change facilities in most of the museums are excellent and are free. I especially recommend those in the British Library (a must for any literature lovers)...

Your baby is ridiculously adorable!! Well done for travelling with her. We always travelled with our kids even when they were little. People used to be split. Half thought we were insane and irresponsible and half thought it was great. It takes a lot of careful planning but our children grew up well travelled and broad minded. Now we travel with our grandchildren too!!

I was born anf raised in London (soutb east London). I moved to the coast 10 years ago, and I have severe back problems, would love to walk around my home town again but the pain would be too much for me. To see you walking around was great, I often used to take my kids into central london when they were small for a trip out so I was a little teary watching this (happy tears of course). I was a single mum in those days and to watch you playing with your little baby filled my heart with joy, so forgive you for calling Tower Bridge London Bridge😂. My favourite place of all to take them was Greenwich (south of the river) , there are so many green spaces in London but Greenwich is really special, you can take the River bus to get there. Glad you enjoyed it there, London has a negative rep sometimes, but the old city is quiet magical❤
You can explore any of the 33 Boroughs if you want to avoid the busy central London. Some of the towns in London have nice parks to relax and offer a quieter pace of life/walking then in the tourist areas
theres now lifts to platforms in many tube stations and theres a policy to enable disabled people to get to platforms and onto trains now So you can still get about via wheelchair and mobility scooter

Excellent fast tour of London, but relaxed enough to be enjoyable. I've lived in the UK on and off for 20 plus years and worked in London for half of that. There is still plenty for me to find and your approach is the way to do it.
Like the vlog. A little cost saving thing with the london underground is to use contactless payment as that has a cap on how much you spend going on the london underground. A day travel card works out more expensive. In some cases, can work less expensive than an Oyster Card.

I remember many years ago sitting with a lovely American on a train on route to London we had a lovely conversation she had an impressive camera and had been photographing our historic buildings and said "back home we pull down most of our historic buildings with no thought"
That is probably true about pulling down historical building, but I'm sure there is thought behind it. It might not be the correct decision to take them down, but it might be for profit. It takes a bunch of thoughts just to plan on how to bring the building down. It is a lot of money to restore old buildings, at least in NYC, due to codes and regulations. It also has to be approved to be removed. It's very cool getting to have that take on the train with someone from a different country. 😀
One explanation (and there are a few) for the song about "London Bridge is falling down" is because the businesses _on_ the bridge paid a fee for maintenance. However, the King at the time (Henry III) gave the revenues to his consort and she spent the monies on fripperies instead of on maintenance. But there are plenty of songs about dilapidated bridges all around Europe - it seemed to be a common theme. There have been several London Bridges of timber from Roman times, stone (medieval and later) and now concrete. The latest is definitely not the prettiest!

Hi my sister visited Newyork a few mnths ago and could not believe the niose , she enjoyed it but london was still her preferred city , much more historic and museums are free .
I took my (Chinese) wife on the London Eye on her first trip to London 10 years ago, it was not as expensive as you quoted, I booked the tickets in advance and pre paid just the day rather than a specific time. That day it was misty in the morning, so we did it in the afternoon :) I planned the day to visit as many of the most famous landmarks as possible using the Tube to do most of the work, the day ended after crossing the Millennium bridge and finding that the riverboats had stopped for the day.
Surprised you missed the Bank Of England which is right around the corner from Leadenhall Market - especially if you are a Harry Potter fan . You can;t go in unless you are staff but its very historic and photogenic.Nice to see you visit places like Monument and Leadenhall which are interesting and unique and not the usual tourist spots. Thats what I really love about your channel as US visitors to the UK

Wow! You packed in a lot in just 48 hours! Kudos! Loved watching your reactions and gutted for Frankie that Harry Potter attractions were closed. I love the architecure of St Pauls Cathedral, and at the top of the dome the view and sound is marvellous... the sound being a whisper which echoes back to someone on the opposite side and heard clearly!! Odd how often visitors repeat the old chestnut about London being Rainy. It’s not. It might seem that way if you normally live in a desert but New York City gets more than double the rainfall London has. And I’ve never heard NYC described as “Rainy”.
New York City is also much more sunny than London, and that is why it doesn't get a rainy reputation. Even though NYC gets about double the amount of rain more than London.

I’ve gotta be honest … after you titled Tower Bridge as London Bridge it did kinda make me smile 😂 And now you know why the original London Bridge is over in the US somewhere after a very wealthy American thought he was buying Tower Bridge! 🤣 There’s SO MUCH cool’s stuff for you to go back to London before flying home … we have all the museums, and I’m REALLY surprised you didn’t go to Camden, home of the late great Amy Winehouse and Camden market itself is just like nothing you’ve ever seen. One of the things that got me smiling is that you were less than 20 miles from Pinewood Studios … and there’s a whole Harry Potter world there! Back to the Hogroasts … they’ve been around for literally 100’s of years … so are kind of a traditional British dish … but you NEED one that’s going round and round on a spit roasting it, as a pose to a joint of pork going in a conventional oven, the taste between a bit of roast pork made in a cooker to a genuine spit roast Hog roast is night and day! Genuinely hop you get to try this buddy … it is just THE most awesome food you’ll ever put in your mouth! 🤣🤣
Been up Sky Garden a couple of times and it provides some really lovely views of the city if you can get up there! For free admission, it's not a bad spot to explore.
It always surprises me that someone new to London will always find almost everything exciting, whereas as most of us take it for granted and, to be honest, pay little attention to what we have. I and my wife spent a week in central London and I was amazed at her reaction, she pointed out things I had noticed but really paid no attention to. Really the museums are the best, the Science Museum (Where I had to be dragged out), the London Museum (so so), the Victoria and Albert Museum (Again so so), the Imperial War Museum (Again I had to be dragged out), the Natural history Museum, the tower of London etc, etc. Central London is easy to walk around, but you will be doing a lot of walking.
I was surprised that they wouldn't let you in The Sky Garden with a baby with some lame excuse about them selling beer and wine. Most pubs, bars and restaurants have licenses that allow under 18s in up to 9PM, though it is at the disgression of the landlord. One little recognised place that ought to be of interest to people from North America is the church with the green spire that can be seen at 2:45 .. it's "All Hallows By The Tower" and is where William Penn (who founded Pennsylvania) was baptised and where John Quincy Adams (who became The USA's fifth president) got married.
At 15:00 when you three stopped to eat and were sitting in Princes Circus at the end of Shaftesbury Avenue, I’m sure those pastries you purchased from the coffee house were lovely, but literally two doors along was Arancino of Italy which sell arguably the best Arancini in London (they say outside of Sicily, who am I to disagree). Also, nobody uses paper tickets or daily travelcards to use public transport in London anymore - either a contactless bank card, apple/googlepay on the phone or an oystercard you load up with funds. Journeys within say zones 1-2 are charged individually but are capped at a max of £8.50, whereas a daily 1-4 anytime travelcard costs £15.90.
Tower Bridge- it breaks in the middle for shipping, so it has to flex. Also it's older than most things in the US. Nothing to stop you drinking with a baby in tow in the UK, unless the Sky Garden has strange rules.

A good place for a baby is John Lewis in Oxford Street, they have a large cafe on the 5th floor with a balcony so you can sit overlooking Oxford Street. They also have a microwave so you can heat up milk and baby food. There is also a Waitrose supermarket in the basement, so you can buy food and baby food.
Buckingham Palace is very British in the way it is only as much a palace as it needs to be. The Palace of Versailles makes Buckingham Palace look like a brick garden shed.
Better to use an Oyster card, it cost the same, they will want one as a souvenir anyway, and a lot easier to replace than a lost/stolen bank card or phone !
The Sky Garden entry is stricter after 6pm as it becomes more club-ie, with DJs and music and a dress code, someone in the queue when I went was refused entry because of his shorts and trainers, the outdoor terrace also shuts after 6pm.
Funny looking at the city I grew up in, but everything changes, right? If you get to visit again then the boat trip down to Greenwich is well worth it. A tour through England's naval history. The museum in one of England's nicest (in my view) palaces is full of ships' models, and of course the gorgeous clipper ship Cutty Sark. Then a trip up the hill to the Greenwich Observatory. The Greenwich timeline and the way that exact midday was communicated to a fleet that stretched from Deptford to the NW, down through Woolwich reach SW of you. Also a tour through Greenwich park. So many possible treats in an area with such a rich history. Don't know if it's still there but at the bottom gate to the park there was a pub where you sang sea shanties in the evening with the whole pub joining in.
Best thing for mothers with toddlers is a lightweight pushchair very lightweight folds away convenient when touring a city like London Can buy them in any store like Argos or online on Amazon heavy buggies aren’t really the thing
UK doesn't think we have bad food, this came from the soldiers of WW2 when due to rations, we could only make stodgy filling but dull food. Since then we've had all different cultures coming to UK so our food is now a mix n match of hundreds of country's flavours

My family have been in Bermondsey and around the Borough for a few hundred years. I was married next door to the Borough Market in Southwark Cathedral back in 89. The market then just did fruit and veg wholesale and could get smelly in summer :)

Leisceter sq is 5 mins from a major hospital UCH London so you will hear sirens. They also specialise in strokes for about 1/2 of London (4m people).

I took my (Chinese) wife on the London Eye on her first trip to London 10 years ago, it was not as expensive as you quoted, I booked the tickets in advance and pre paid just the day rather than a specific time. That day it was misty in the morning, so we did it in the afternoon :)
I planned the day to visit as many of the most famous landmarks as possible using the Tube to do most of the work, the day ended after crossing the Millennium bridge and finding that the riverboats had stopped for the day.
So glad you enjoyed the sites of London. Also a classic to mistake Tower Bridge for London Bridge 😊
Surprised you missed the Bank Of England which is right around the corner from Leadenhall Market - especially if you are a Harry Potter fan . You can;t go in unless you are staff but its very historic and photogenic.Nice to see you visit places like Monument and Leadenhall which are interesting and unique and not the usual tourist spots. Thats what I really love about your channel as US visitors to the UK

In most cases you can take a baby into a pub in the UK, as there are generally no legal restrictions against taking infants to pubs, although it's important to check the specific policies of the pub you are visiting as they may have their own rules regarding children.

You also realise London Bridge was sold to a US businessman and now resides somewhere in the US. It was dismantled and taken there ‘Lock stock and barrel’ (it means everything went) and re-built for the tourists!

Wow! You packed in a lot in just 48 hours! Kudos! Loved watching your reactions and gutted for Frankie that Harry Potter attractions were closed. I love the architecure of St Pauls Cathedral, and at the top of the dome the view and sound is marvellous... the sound being a whisper which echoes back to someone on the opposite side and heard clearly!! Odd how often visitors repeat the old chestnut about London being Rainy. It’s not. It might seem that way if you normally live in a desert but New York City gets more than double the rainfall London has. And I’ve never heard NYC described as “Rainy”.
New York City is also much more sunny than London, and that is why it doesn't get a rainy reputation. Even though NYC gets about double the amount of rain more than London.
@FnAVanLife and remember Miami gets more rain than London ..as there are more rainy days in Miami (at 135) and Orlando, Florida (117) than there are in London.

Back to the Hogroasts … they’ve been around for literally 100’s of years … so are kind of a traditional British dish … but you NEED one that’s going round and round on a spit roasting it, as a pose to a joint of pork going in a conventional oven, the taste between a bit of roast pork made in a cooker to a genuine spit roast Hog roast is night and day!

Been up Sky Garden a couple of times and it provides some really lovely views of the city if you can get up there! For free admission, it's not a bad spot to explore.

It always surprises me that someone new to London will always find almost everything exciting, whereas as most of us take it for granted and, to be honest, pay little attention to what we have. I and my wife spent a week in central London and I was amazed at her reaction, she pointed out things I had noticed but really paid no attention to. Really the museums are the best, the Science Museum (Where I had to be dragged out), the London Museum (so so), the Victoria and Albert Museum (Again so so), the Imperial War Museum (Again I had to be dragged out), the Natural history Museum, the tower of London etc, etc. Central London is easy to walk around, but you will be doing a lot of walking.

I was surprised that they wouldn't let you in The Sky Garden with a baby with some lame excuse about them selling beer and wine. Most pubs, bars and restaurants have licenses that allow under 18s in up to 9PM, though it is at the disgression of the landlord.
One little recognised place that ought to be of interest to people from North America is the church with the green spire that can be seen at 2:45 .. it's "All Hallows By The Tower" and is where William Penn (who founded Pennsylvania) was baptised and where John Quincy Adams (who became The USA's fifth president) got married.
That is an awesome fact. 👌 We will have to check it out next time. 😀
At 15:00 when you three stopped to eat and were sitting in Princes Circus at the end of Shaftesbury Avenue, I’m sure those pastries you purchased from the coffee house were lovely, but literally two doors along was Arancino of Italy which sell arguably the best Arancini in London (they say outside of Sicily, who am I to disagree). Also, nobody uses paper tickets or daily travelcards to use public transport in London anymore - either a contactless bank card, apple/googlepay on the phone or an oystercard you load up with funds. Journeys within say zones 1-2 are charged individually but are capped at a max of £8.50, whereas a daily 1-4 anytime travelcard costs £15.90.
There is also Crossrail Place roof garden at Canary Wharf, above the Elizabeth line station, an abundance of greenery.
Tower Bridge- it breaks in the middle for shipping, so it has to flex. Also it's older than most things in the US. Nothing to stop you drinking with a baby in tow in the UK, unless the Sky Garden has strange rules.

A good place for a baby is John Lewis in Oxford Street, they have a large cafe on the 5th floor with a balcony so you can sit overlooking Oxford Street.
They also have a microwave so you can heat up milk and baby food.
There is also a Waitrose supermarket in the basement, so you can buy food and baby food.

Buckingham Palace is very British in the way it is only as much a palace as it needs to be. The Palace of Versailles makes Buckingham Palace look like a brick garden shed.

When you use the underground it is usually cheaper to just tap your bank card. There is a daily limit, after which, all journeys are free.
Better to use an Oyster card, it cost the same, they will want one as a souvenir anyway, and a lot easier to replace than a lost/stolen bank card or phone !
The Sky Garden entry is stricter after 6pm as it becomes more club-ie, with DJs and music and a dress code, someone in the queue when I went was refused entry because of his shorts and trainers, the outdoor terrace also shuts after 6pm.

If you get to visit again then the boat trip down to Greenwich is well worth it. A tour through England's naval history. The museum in one of England's nicest (in my view) palaces is full of ships' models, and of course the gorgeous clipper ship Cutty Sark.
Then a trip up the hill to the Greenwich Observatory. The Greenwich timeline and the way that exact midday was communicated to a fleet that stretched from Deptford to the NW, down through Woolwich reach SW of you. Also a tour through Greenwich park. So many possible treats in an area with such a rich history.
Don't know if it's still there but at the bottom gate to the park there was a pub where you sang sea shanties in the evening with the whole pub joining in.
Best thing for mothers with toddlers is a lightweight pushchair very lightweight folds away convenient when touring a city like London Can buy them in any store like Argos or online on Amazon heavy buggies aren’t really the thing
UK doesn't think we have bad food, this came from the soldiers of WW2 when due to rations, we could only make stodgy filling but dull food. Since then we've had all different cultures coming to UK so our food is now a mix n match of hundreds of country's flavours

My family have been in Bermondsey and around the Borough for a few hundred years. I was married next door to the Borough Market in Southwark Cathedral back in 89. The market then just did fruit and veg wholesale and could get smelly in summer :)
