- Lt. Brandi Hart, of the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office conducted the jailhouse interrogation of Miu after the stabbing on the Apple River. The defense acknowledged Miu lied during the interrogation in jail.
He told Hart the group of teenagers insulted him and grabbed his snorkel, and threw it - and then another group of mostly girls came over and called him a child molester. He said they attacked him, and he went into self-defense mode. Then he returned to his tubing group, who asked him what happened, but he wouldn't tell them because he needed to calm down.

because the blood alcohol test is done as part of a series of tests when you're sent to hospital.. ie the teens who were stabbed..
I am pretty sure he was examined at hospital by a medical pro. In prior testimony or it was the med examiner. In any event his logic of not asking for a lawyer, making untrue statements make his guilt more likely. I still believe wrong was done on both sides ie the group could have walked away and called 911 on him rather than attack. I feel this may end up being 2nd degree murder, a crime of passion. I believe he was looking for the cell phone and approached the teens in a way to make them defensive. But the reaction lasted so very long and 6 ppl became 13 at the end. Very sad event.

there is not video of the anyone stabbing him, and there was no marks on his body of any stab marks.
the video never shows any other knife than the one visible in his pocket, then in his hand, then in his hand while he shoved into a bunch of kids. He has absolutely no credibility when you follow the stream of his lies in this interview

Thank God they have a video. I clearly saw him holding hid mask and snorkel and no one ever took it from him. He dropped them to get his knife bc the mask and snorkel were in his right hand. Ffs, what a bold faced liar. Insane. So glad they have this video as well.

After hearing the first few days of court testimony, I began to think Mr. Miu might have a legitimate argument of self defense, but after watching the prosecution eviscerate him on cross examination today...and hearing his interview with detectives...He's toast...
He was well coached and prepared for questioning by the defense attorneys, but things really fell apart during cross examination. Even the Judge looked stunned when the jury was being ushered out…
I’m coming to the same conclusion after watching the interrogation.If someone can lie this easily speaks volumes.Haven’t watched him on the stand yet& can’t wait to watch it.

So here the defense attorney is asking that we indulge the murderer’s lies because he was under stress from the murder he committed. The defense did not seem to afford any of the victims or witnesses the same indulgences because they did not experience high levels of stress from the event? I’m thinking in particular about the kids testimony that was best friends with Isaac. Makes me not feel warm and fuzzy things about the defendant nor his attorney.

Watching him so nonchalantly smiling and joking when I know there are families at the hospital at this time with their children in surgery and one family grieving the murder of their boy. Before he even got to begin his life. Just a day at the river with his friends.

This is so hard to listen to. He’s telling one major lie after another. Why?! He thought it would be his word against a bunch of kids. He didn’t know there was a video that would contradict him. So. Many. LIES. It doesn’t mean the jury won’t acquit him, but it sure goes to his character and how he would throw false blame on the kids, one of whom is DEAD. Tell the truth. People might slant things their way, but outright LIES is a sign of guilt. Sad for everyone.

Nicolae was 250 pounds at that time. Either way, it doesn't matter. Nicolae had a folding knife that he used to kill Isaac and stab four others. He'll now go away for life, and that will be nice.
This is America, where certain teens because of who they are get away with multiple crimes and not hold them accountable. I can see very confident to attack who they want without accountability.

Even if you kill someone for self-defense you will have doubts, fearful and confusion. You may say it’s self defense but it could not be. This is why he may have lied about the blade.
Many people in history have surely killed in self defense, and not been forthcoming until they were caught.

Miu just said he was drinking beer all day . Was he tested? He also takes medicine that can interfere with alcohol. Possible side effects . Which could be extreme to the brain function. How he received what was going on around him. Hallucinations , confusion, anger and violence. Alcohol is never good to mix with medicine. Decision making is out the door in this case. He did what he did and he has to be accountable for his actions. I'm sure he wouldn't do what he did if he was sober . To late for that. People was stabed and one boy killed . Regardless of how he received it, if I was the man in the video, I would've protected myself the same way. He is old and had heart surgery. He wouldn't stand a chance if he tried to fight his way out of there. I probably wouldn't have lied about it. But then again, I probably wouldn't have spoken to the police at all.

As I said from the beginning, this guy is so guilty. He lied from the very beginning. He brought that knife and used it to kill one, disembowel another, cause life long injuries to the others. This guy got mad the kids were making jokes at him. (They’re underage drunk kids) you’re double their size and age… he lost his temper. Rushed their floats. Physically touched their legs and rafts and stops it from moving. The kids are yelling at him to leave, adults come over to tell him to leave. Not once did he try to remove himself from the situation. He instigated it. And it’s not clear but I’m pretty sure he touched that Madi girl first, that’s when he gets punched…

He stands there smiling with it in his hand for a good minute before he pokes the girl in the side and kills Isaac then disembowels AJ.

Martin pushed him down, Tony Carlson puts his hands on him, yells and then one second later, Schuman comes up and physically engages. Don't treat your elders like this.
