His live voice was incredible
*Is
well he got old and his voice is still good but definitely worse that it was and the bad has less energy than it used to
And his face too
Is. It is.
Is*
Mike is so underrated as a guitarist!!
His solos are perfection.
Absolutely!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Mad Season also shows off his skills as well,
Every guitar solo should devolve into War Pigs at some point imo
I find them quite pedestrian
Thx.. 😊
Eddies voice really keeps you in a trance, magical, emotional and hypnotic.....
Something very special about his voice for sure.
Susanne Williamsson the best!
Susanne Williamsson I phones suck!!!
Truly magical
too bad his style got repeated mindlessly by ignorant rockstars
If that doesn't make you feel ALIVE nothing will!
Not the context of the song though...
Teresa Holman if by “that” you meant to say “This” then yes I do feel. *Alive yeah Aa ehhh* .
I like that
Completly disagree,
Alive and electrified, fuck covid19, all I need is my PJ fix and I,m ready to go.
OH snap, I was there back in the days. The line up was insane, and people stage dived like crazy. Good old days! Just for good measure, the whole place was set on fire when the festival was over. I will never forget the smell of burning tents as a wake up call in the morning;-)
***** kick ass post
***** What was the lineup mate?
Are you going to Pinkpop next Year because the foo fighters wil come
max van den boom never heard of the foto fighters, are they any good?
☣ Tsjernobylol ☣ damm auto correct
“You survived today, no matter what band can come up here, this thing wouldn’t happen without you, you’re the reason this thing is even halfway a succes. It’s you who survived the rain, it’s you who’s going to be sick tomorrow, it’s you who we appreciate, thank you!”
Eddie is sweet and uplifting to his fans...
Couldn't of said it better
Thank you
Kurt Cobain Called him a careerist lol Gotta love Eddie for that tho🍻
Eddie & Pearl Jam are VERY Humble & APPRECIATE the Fans!
I love that Eddie can still sing Alive and mean it. We lost too many great vocalists from that era. So we appreciate Eddie all the more and cling to him for dear life. The world wouldn't be the same without Eddie Vedder. Truly an amazing person in more ways than one.
2024 boys still here
I love that jump Eddie does at 4:34, these guys energy is fucking amazing
Inderdaad!! Still fucking amazing 👌
2:49 too
Love the way Eddie expresses himself throughout the song w his facial features, eyes, hands, body,he's s GOT IT ALL!!!!
I´m a relatively calm Muslim woman who usually listens to Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Junoon or Flamenco music. Pearl Jam fits right into my world, believe it or not. Nobody walking past me would probably ever think that these guys have a firm place in my music list, but they do. I love their lyrics, the riffs, the insane drums and everything. It´s music with a good cause and sense to it. Real music has a universal appeal and this right here is quality music, that´s all.
I still get chills at the sound of Eddie’s roar
I wasn't gonna comment as I actually cannot think of the words to describe Eddie Vedder's singing. This dude is crazy. He sounds just as perfect as he does on the CD, it's as if he doesn't use Autotune or anything, he doesn't even need it. This man is a prime example of real music. So why the fuck am I hearing the same old autotuned Justin Bieber/ Iggy/ Nicki Minaj shit on the radio! Sort it out! I will be forever grateful to Eddie for what he has done for music. A true inspiration
There's a lot of good music out there, it's just a matter of looking in different places, expanding your tastes, etc.
Oh that's what his name is. I've got a couple of Pearl Jam songs but I didn't realise that was his name.
autotune is mostly for the talentless hacks. sure you gotta agree it can be used well, look at bon iver but then bob dylan's voice wasnt great but he never used it
Dillon Haggett j
but this voice is`nt compareable to others
Dave driving that kit with so much energy. Everyone’s performance was awesome!
Definitely Dave was the perfect drummer for them. Hes still great
Fn' old school son! and here we are 22 years older. Things will never be this again. I was fortunate to be a young adult when this awesome era in music began. Gooood times
Same! Just love this!
Thank God I grew up in this era!
Eddie is the man :-)
And Dave is the best drummer from the Seattle scene
McCready!
Jimmy Chamberlain
yeah grohl ya mean i think
Kurt Cobain: Dead
Layne Staley: Dead
Chris Cornell: Dead
Scott Weiland: Dead
Eddie Vedder: 2:12
hahaha your comment deserves atleast a million likes if not a billion.
this is so funny
Fuckin A brilliant comment.
Don’t forget Shannon Hoon
Chester Bennington: Dead
FYI: I didn't look at the replies, so don't say I copied someone's comment
Damn. This was the energy. This was passion behind the lyrics. This was the love of stage. This was grunge.
+Penny Here good old 90's if someone would offered me a travel in time i would go in a heartbeat
I'm right with you. Such an an awesome era for music. I also love the 60's and early 70's, though it was a litte before my time. Not many people have noticed that there is a lot of similarity between the 2. The spirit was the same. A rebellion against the system, the 'we don't fit in', and the 'we have something to say' heart. Just at a different point in the progression of time. Grunge to me is sort of the Hippie of the Alternative movement. Plus, it just freaking rocks. Lol.
One of the greatest vocalists of all time, he’s so underrated
He's a rare gem. The last one left from the great era of geunge. Gone are: Layne Staley, Andy Wood, Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, Scott Weiland...damn I'm getting emotional.
He is not at all underrated wtf lmao
@@Sevro720 go ask a random person on the street and see if they know him 🤔🤨
@@miajc6606 and then ask them if they know Kurt cobain.
@@jonathanthomasjohn8348 exactly
There’s something supernatural about bands that can play their songs perfect live. PJ is one of them.
Ah look at that lovely crowd. Not a fucking iPhone in sight.
+DoctorGlass that's fucking right man!
+DoctorGlass Of course not. In 1992 a mobile phone looked like this: s1.nieuwsbladcdn.be/Assets/Images_Upload/2013/09/03/121c6af8-147f-11e3-9358-ac2240527df0_web_scale_0.375_0.375__.jpg?scale=both&format=jpg. By the way fantastic song!
+DoctorGlass Concerts are the perfect example of how tech did more harm than good. When I saw the original Clash of the Titans in 1991 it was beautifully ugly vicious and high-energy. When I saw the new tour a couple of years back, it was just fucking smartphone zombies standing there while giving you "eat shit and die" looks if you bumped into one of them while they blocked your view holding up their phones.
THE SCENE IS RUINED.
+Redactie Voetbalhumor lol
YOU'RE SO RIGHT!! FUCK CELL PHONES!! I HAD BOOTLEGS ON TAPE!! I bought Ten and VS on tape!!I SAW LIVE FIRST TIME 96 HARTFORD CONN! I WAS 18..I miss those days! After seeing them 3 more times..I STILL I get goosebumps everytime I hear just one song!!
how great concerts were without phones and cameras....just a band, crowd and a music...
We took lighters to concerts not cell phones
Yeah the people nowadays are such demons for wanting to film or photograph their favorite bands and you would totally never have done such an awful thing if phones were a thing back then.
You are right. It would have been a challenge, having it all for myself. But, on a second thought, no, not really. Not at the expense of living the experience. Besides, I used to sing and dance quite intensely, such a recording would not have been much.
It doesn't really ruin the experience, it's easy just to put the camera up and not even look at it and just hope for the best lmao. As for the people who do pay a lot of attention to filming good quality videos at concerts I don't mind them.. it's thanks to them there are so many live videos on youtube and clips from concerts I personally could not have gone to.
I think the reason people in this day and age want to document the gigs has little to do with the band on the stage and the music they are playing but more to do with the modern inclination to let everybody know what you are doing and get those all important likes to satisfy the narcissistic nature that has been ingrained into people by Social Media. Letting people know how great your life is has now taken precedence over actually creating, living and experiencing a great life.
The emotion Vedder's face, particularly during that first verse, is truly powerful and moving.
Mike is playing War Pigs by Black Sabbath there at the end, I swear I'm not crazy
Rory McGuire yeah he did it
I've heard it immediately!!
no my friend you're definitely not crazy..
He sure did. You aren’t crazy.
Rory McGuire absolutely heard it
Legendary performance. Always giving their all!!! 2024 still a banger!
Definitely Pearl Jam is, or were, back then really awesome and appreciative.👍🏻
One of the best grunge performance ever ! Great crowd !
Chris, Kurt, Layne, Scott, all are gone.
Meanwhile Eddie, "I'm still alive!"
Geezus....best performance in history of rock n roll.
Can you feel the rebelliousness? This is passion, pure feeling, fucking incredible.
Holland was always one of the best countries for festivals and live shows, with huge followings and fans.
I’m new to pearl jam. Love this tune after hearing it on the radio this week. Into nirvana and soundgarden already but wow what a time to be alive in seattle back then
What an inspired concert. If there were any rankings posted in the early 90's, Pearl Jam would have won the award for the best long hair. All of them. Eddie Vedder had Jim Morrison's charisma and stage presence. What a superb performance he delivers. Dutch television should also be commended for capturing this incredible performance. I love all of their long hair. Dang, I may sound like and idiot, but their hair is absolutely amazing at this time.
Haha u like hair?
@@danielholm3420 Yes, I used to have long hair, as long as my school would let me grow it. We'd all push our heads forward so they wouldn't cover our shirt collars (required). It touched my shoulders and a pony tail was no problem. I tried to grow my hair out a bit during the isolation in the last year, but it's not cooperative as my beard. Give up one, gain another.
@@stevenpettinga7400 good memories then bud!! Enjoy PJ
Pearl Jam has proven not only in the 90s but yet today that They have earned their rightful place into the Rock Hall of Fame! They're real, their songs have meaning behind them and Eddie made everyone feel the words with his great voice, actions on stage sucked u right into him, how the words truly came from deep within his soul! Happily Pearl Jam is still doing it for a new generation to this day! €;*
Why can't it be like this again? Everyone so free, enjoying, in the moment
I was 15 yrs old. The world was 💯 better… Bring it back❤️
It's almost the end of 2019 but i keep coming back for this 😍🤘🏻
Isso é rock. Pura energia. Aff os caras são muito bom.
Eddie you’re the real hero who is still ALIVE , you survived grunge.
2018 stil jamming , while all the others grunge heroes of my past are long gone,Layne , Kurt, Chris, RIP.
God save Eddie Vedder
I'm so glad I grew up with this kind of music. I want to go back there!
He is like the Robert Plant of the 90's
...except that he doesn't suck, and his balls have descended.
I prefer Chris Cornell as a 90's Robert Plant mainly because of the voice and because Soundgarden is closer to Led Zeppelin's sound, just listen to Fopp by Soundgarden, it's pretty close ^^
thejoosty1 Vedder = Plant
Cornell = Morrison
Layne = Ozzy (with a voice a million times better)
Cobain= Lennon
Pene Con Aji
I agree with the Layne = Ozzy comparison :)
thejoosty1 the drugs, the dark lyrics, both heavy metal icons in their respective times.
Abbruzzese was great with them and it's total bullshit that he didn't get into the hall of fame.
He's much harder to emulate than cameron
I am 25 years old and I live in a very small town. When I was in elementary school there was no proper internet here and I only had radio (total piece of junk) and it was hard to catch a radio signal. I was so happy back then. I loved every single inspired song and when they played Nirvana or Iron Maiden I was happy as fuck. That shitty radio signal helped me through rough times. People nowdays aren't happy.
Mad respect for Eddie. No drugs, no alcohol, no groupies and huge care for his fans
I’m 100% certain that if I were in that crowd during this performance I would have wholeheartedly believed Eddie Vedder was a god. And then my would would have left my body
Classic alternative song, salute to all 90s band both popular and non popular, you make our generation bad ass,
but why the hell is rock not on the charts anymore? Its been like this for almost 20 years now. I'm still waiting for that one band to come around to put rock back in the mainstream just like Nirvana did in the 90s to wash out all of those shitty pop/rap hits people these days are raving about.
I know man. Hopefully it will. I will die to go to a concert like that...
Rap was especially popular in the early 90's when grunge was in
os clones
Working on it!
Ikr!! It's like rock has become extinct and pop music has taken over. It's very sad times today indeed. 😢
This is an amazing video of Eddie doing what he does best. In my darkest hours-this song is a rally cry. Thank you, Pearl Jam. I’m. Still. Alive
The fact that this music is 20 years old makes me feel prehistoric. Holy shit!!
is almost 38 years old lmao
The important thing is... we're still alive 😎
@@victorradial1179 28
Over 30 years now
5:29 holy sh.... that mic hitting the cymbal hahahahha
Fernando Morales omg ha ha ha 😭
I found that funnier than it should’ve been.
one of the best experiences in life - to see Pearl Jam live.
ONE MIRACLE IS PEARL JAM!!!
THIS IS BAND,AND STILL ALIVE!!!
Really enjoyed that wink to War Pigs at the end of the song, by Mike McCready!
BR na área sempre para prestigiar aquela que na minha opinião é a maior banda de rock in roll de todos os tempos, jamais irei me curvar a essas porcarias de músicas de hoje em dia, o bom gosto grita dentro de mim "I still alive"
Did anyone notice Mike doing the riff from War Pigs at the end?
sounds awsome toghether with the scream
Yep noticed that too. Very rad
+Jon Haroskiewicz - ależ oczywiście,że poznalismy BS, panie Horoskiewicz.
Generals gathered in their masses......
Concerts back then look so crazy and better than todays
So true man dad told me a story when he went to a Pearl jam gig in London 93 said it was fucking crazy feel like it was better when a gig or concerts like this more memories and more of a great time shame how it’s changed now really.
Abbruzzese knew how to hold a groove.
+Omair Sheikh yeah I liked him better as their drummer. He apparently didn't get along with the band.
Ricky Francis didnt he? I thought there was just a disagreement which got him removed from the group
@@runertje550 He brought a gun to the studio and Eddie got pissed.
Josh Houston yeah you can't have that/:
My go-to video to send people who are curious why I love this band.
Every time I listen to them, his voice, the guitar, the grunge, I feels always like the first time, I feel very emotional.
I was 16 at the time, it was really a dark period, I was lonely, I had no one, I was depressed.
Their music saved my life.
I would give everything I own to be able to travel back in time and see this concert and Chris Cornell jamming with sound garden…. 90’s I miss you dearly…..
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH PEARL JAM, YRS ARE INCREDIBLE!!!!!
2 years before my time! I wish I was ALIVE on this day in 1992! Videos like these take you back in time! What a legend!!!
It amazes me that I’ve met this man multiple times
Eddie is such a beauty to look at.
Pearl Jam..the Rolling Stone of the grunge invasion 👍🏻💯🎸 good band.
you can see the pain in his eyes.. damn
No that's pain
Man...some musicians you can truly, truly tell that they genuinely love music and the energy of performing in front of people who share that same energy wave. I'm bllitzed af don't listen to me, but guys like Eddie, how Chester Bennington was etc. Merry Christmas all!
That solo is freaking incredible!
I was before Pearl Jam but i like them.. my best concert memory is G & R opening for Motley Crue on my 21st birthday...woke up behind the stage after passing out for 15 minutes..i was the only one behind the band ..good times..lol
I could easily listen to Ed reading the phone book...for f’n hours♥️
best live performance EVER!!! gave their all every single one of them. I watch it every day!!!😊
"you survived today no matter what bank come up here this thing what happened to that you, you are the whole reason this thing even (Raffle) the sucess it's you survived in arena, it's you who gonna be sick tomorrow, it's who gonna appreciate thank you." Initial speech
You got 80% of that wrong
Isso que é show, isso que é platéia. Galera hoje em dia vai no show e passa o tempo todo com o celular na mão, filmando para postar nas redes sociais e esquecem de apreciar e se entregar ao momento de corpo e alma.
This man, I swear. He is a god. I love him, and his voice.
So much energy within the crowd! Really makes you feel like going back in 90s! The time when Rock was born!
The greatest chorus in the history of music.
I feel so glad that every generation that comes has a bunch of humans that have the need to be alive in one of those pits!
ohhh god.. this man is perfect
Spettacolo,da brividi! Un'altra live band come i Pearl penso non esista, energia allo stato puro!!
Son, she said
Have I got a little story for you
What you thought was your daddy
Was nothin' but a
While you were sittin'
Home alone at age thirteen
Your real daddy was dyin'
Sorry you didn't see him
But I'm glad we talked
Oh I, oh, I'm still alive
Hey, hey, I, oh, I'm still alive
Hey I, oh, I'm still alive, yeah oh
While she walks slowly
Across a young man's room
She said I'm ready, for you
I can't remember anything
To this very day
'Cept the look, the look
Oh, you know where
Now I can't see, I just stare
I, I, I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah I, oh, I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah I, oh, I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah I, oh, I'm still alive, yeah
Is something wrong?
She said
Of course there is
You're still alive
She said
Oh do I deserve to be?
Is that the question?
And if so, if so
Who answers?
Who answers?
I, I, I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah I, oh, I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah I, oh, I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah I, oh, I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh oh, yeah oh, ooh oh, yeah, oh
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Have ALWAYS LOVED this band...❤❤❤👍👍👍
That lead guitar at 3:55 is so sweet!
Between this performance, and the Smashing Pumpkins amazing at-their-peak performance, Pink Pop Festival has some great UA-cam vids that will live forever. We're lucky to have them, and I replay them at least once a year. And will forever.
4:32 to the end. gets me EVERYTIME
I resonate to this song Still Alive. My dad was my uncle, my aunt was actually my mother, I was an only child but I learned I had a half sister and half brother. The woman who posed as my mother was no relation whatsoever.
Wah pedal, Doc Martens, and a porn 'stache... Man, I miss the 90's sometimes.
I'M STILL ALIVE.....love this song way back, and always will be!!!this is one of the songs when a dark cloud appears above and in my head,,if head..it give me the boost to snap out of it!!CHEERS TO ALL from Holland 🤘🏻😜🇳🇱

They were so perfect live at this period... the fucking energy !!
Saludos desde Chile bros!!!.
Even though the inspiration behind the song is sexual abuse, Eddie Vedder yelling "I'm still alive" has been my mantra through my life as I have dealt with my own depression and PTSD from abuse myself. This will never get old in my book.
Back when Pinkpop had balls.
+Jesus Christ Back when people went for the music, not for ''the experience'' or something like that.
Taking the words out of my mouth, right there.
I always go here for the music, they still have a decent line up. But nothing can beat the line ups they used to have. That is auch a shame
They used to have legends like Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers all weekend but now there are like 3 good bands and just a bunch of shit. Fuck pinkpop went from this awesome rockers festival to this place where there are awesome rockers but mostly shitty electronic musicians and rappers
Really wish I was alive back then
This song keeps me going love love Pearl Jam 💖 😉
Man, I wish I was alive to see these guys perform. Still love to listen to the music that they had. Legendary band.
