@@CoomLord-ev3ik If you think so, go with it kid. I don't think you are in a position to speak for anybody but yourself. Referencing one of Chris' other projects by calling his bassist an "Audioslave" is a play on words for me. If you know better, good for you Shakespeare.
They're both lucky to have him. Someone has to replace him though on Soungarden 2014 dates, he had to choose one or the other this time and he picked PJ. Good luck finding somebody to play his parts correctly...
***** Yeah, they got Matt Chamberlain for all the tour dates this year. It's hard, Soundgarden are touring right now to support the 20th anniversary of Superunknown, but Pearl Jam are touring for their new album, and they both are pretty heavy tours that would probably be logistically and physically impossible to coordinate, so Matt chose to go with PJ.
***** I don't know if you're a drummer or not, but a Soundgarden/Pearl Jam/Temple of the Dog tour would absolutely murder him. He's 50 years old now, and it's not like he's playing smooth jazz or anything, it's hard rock and it's very tiring to play an hour long set, let alone a 3 hour long set. With two different bands.
***** Nothing like that, I don't think he likes one band more than the other, he still played with Soundgarden at the two shows this year where they played Superunknown in full and on the Tonight Show, he just can't do both at the same time. He also cited his decision on wanting to still have time available with his family as well.
How blessed us 90 kids were. I cut my teeth in the moshpits of Soundgarden and their grunge brothers and sisters before mobile phones and social media took over. Look at that crowd and how the band feed off that energy! Helps when you're fu*king musical beasts like Soundgarden. We miss and love you Chris. Thanks for sharing your gift with the world . ❤
These phones and social media ruined a lot of things. You’re right, the authentic energy in that crowd just doesn’t seem to happen today. Everything seems so fake.
music was really amazing at this point: Hip-hop was coming into it's own, metal was at full peak. Alternative had gone overground. The energy was real. not sure whats happened.
One of the only times in history where all genres we're producing top notch music, rap was great back then, grunge, and alternative were at their peak, experimental was thriving. Metal was also great at the time. Now rap has become generic autotune crap that's barely rap, rock has mostly become pop music with instruments and no one appreciates alt/ experimental 😪

This is such a jaw dropping performance: intense, wild and strangely beautiful. I was there as a very young man and this captures the mood., the energy, the rain and the sights and smells of not only that day in The Netherlands but of that era. Suddenly I felt 31 years younger. I think the early 90's were the last great blast of rock music with real value. This performance more than stands the test of time.

1992 i was 17 years old it was one of the best years of my life i still have great memories of those golden times. Alice in Chains and Soundgarden the best bands of that time but the media choice was Nirvana. Great injustice with AIC and Soundgarden.
Vinter Sorg....Dude come on...I was 20 in 1992...I was a huge Nirvana fan...I also love Soundgarden and like a lot of AIC...but there was no "great injustice" done to Soundgarden or AIC....both bands got critical acclaim, huge fanbases and sold tons of records. Great injustice is bands like Mudhoney or the Melvins never making it huge, while Billy Ray Cyrus does. The media choice was actually Pearl Jam. Nirvana got the most attention because they were the first to break through, had the catchiest tunes and because Kurt was such a presence. They deserved that attention. Soundgarden has and always has gotten a lot of respect, especially by Nirvana fans like me. Nirvana and the guys in Soundgarden were friends, the guys in Soundgarden respected them and were completely blown away when suddenly Nirvana made it through. The attention and glare that Nirvana brought to the genre benefited Soundgarden, AIC and all the other Seattle bands, not to mention alternative music in general and thank goodness for that, since i was pretty damn sick of Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer.
I think its all about what the band did to expose themselves more. nirvana and pearl jam both probably contacted MTV to do the unplugged show that year, and SG perhaps didn't yet want that exposure, or MTV thought their sound is too heavy. it's sad, but MTV has a say on what kids/people will like.
NARKISDUDE Well let's not say Nirvana "contacted" MTV to do MTV Unplugged...in fact, the relationship between Nirvana and MTV was in the toilet because Nirvana was furious at MTV because of their behavior. Nirvana did not want to go to the MTV Video music Awards that September (1993) and MTV threatened them by saying not that they would never play Nirvana videos again, but that MTV would never play *ANY* videos by other groups that Nirvana's management, Gold Mountain represented... MTV's behavior was despicable.
tnx for the info, now I hate these mo'fuckers even more (MTV) other than that, my point was that it's good publicity you know, to have lots of music videos etc., even if it means selling out and at times shorten the length of the song because THEY think its too long. unless you're Justin Timberlake and in that case a 10 minute video is peachy(: ...
Well you see there was this ancient thing called TV where there was different channels that you would switch Hopi g something good would be on before you could pick what you wanted to watch, I know weird concept but keep with me here so when people switched to a channel that had something like this on it would tell you what you were watching in case you hadn't been watching from the beginning.
@@deadsolarsystem6298 of this era they were. I think _Down on the Upside_ is better in the studio because the whole album is a trip. But the dynamic of the sound on that album is like a whole different band than on _Badmotorfinger._ I absolutely love both albums, but for different reasons. Soundgarden were definitely the most artistically ambitious of the grunge bands. I have a feeling that the direction that Soundgarden went is something like what Kurt would've wanted for Nirvana, but with respect to him, I doubt he would've achieved it had he lived a few more years. Chris, Ben, Kim and Matt were/are some trippy artistic mofos.
God knows how many times I’ve watched this, the bass player somehow still manages to play in amongst all of the moving around. Such a great band, mega in concert.
I dont even know who else played this festival, but just the fact that a young Soundgarden and Pearl Jam played makes it legendary. I wonder how many people there even realized that day the level of greatness they were seeing

Perhaps he never got a lot of mainstream credit, but he got a lot of respect from other members of the band.

90's definitely had some balls to it! We're playing our music whether you like it or not! To me 90's is the last BEST decade for Rock music. It's not the musicians fault, it's the industry. I'm confident there are bands in basements, garage's, banging music like this out there. It's a shame the Industry doesn't let this shit through anymore! Cornell was definitely one of the best vocalists of ALL time! Fucking commercialism!
I am not so sure if there are bands out there doing this. Today it's all about, I'll be in a band for 6 months and if we are not playing Madison Square Garden then I'll move on to something else. The fans and industry aren't there to support bands. So band members move on and get on with their life. Or they simply copy another band verbatim. People today are more concerned with making it than the art portion of it.

Chris was a genius. Like many who are gifted, he struggled with depression. He saw his flaws and rarely recognized the talent, always wanting to be better. He definitely did not consider himself a rock God.
So great! I remember seeing them at Lollapaloosa in 1992 Orlando FL, there was a small hurricane approaching FL we thought the concert might cancel, but it went on. When Soundgarden came on, they were on the second stage (outdoor) and the Tropical Storm force winds were coming from directly behind the stage, blowing all their hair straight at us and with the gray menace of clouds behind them and wind blowing through them and toward us, it felt like we were all being pulled into some kind of vortex, pulling us in with Soundgarden ROCKING us all the way. It was AMAZING. It was a great time to be alive :-) Yeah!

2:53 one of the best drum beats ever
His stamina is crazy
No kidding
He's one of the best (I'm a drummer). 8:22 through 8:51 is a good example, I think.
the drummer is killing ingeneral
Matt Cameron is without doubt top 5 drummers ever. He is hard hitting, amazing technique, but also great feel, can play soft aswell. Looks great. He is a fantastic drummer. Even with pearl jam his playing has always been top shelf.
Cornell's voice is sick. One of the best vocalists around. Great show. Soungarden is intense.
At first glance, my brain saw "volcanoist" and I thought that sounds about right.

sorry but he is off very often

I love Soundgarden. That was a WHOLE lotta hair happening back then.

And he loves cocaine
That bassist looks like just what a bassist is. A knight for the rhythm. A true Audioslave.
I think he's high on something.

@@CoomLord-ev3ik Hahaha man your comment mmd
I might be a mental wreck, but I sure can tell Tim Commerford and Ben Shepherd apart.
It was just a play on words because so many people know Chris for Soundgarden rather than Audioslave.
Geez haha "a tiny little band I may have heard of" you don't even know me a bit
@@CoomLord-ev3ik If you think so, go with it kid.
I don't think you are in a position to speak for anybody but yourself.
Referencing one of Chris' other projects by calling his bassist an "Audioslave" is a play on words for me. If you know better, good for you Shakespeare.
How lucky is Matt Cameron?? Plays with two of the best bands ever!
I would more state it that they are lucky to have such a talented musician like him;)
Can you imagine that Justin Bieber played at this same concert this year? R.I.P. Pinkpop
Can you imagine this took place today, the world would be in a better place

@@createwithshortyb727I agree, these times aren’t coming back I’m afraid.

+Scott smith I agree everything was raw and real in all those genres at the time
$$$$$
Justin Bieber became a thing,unfortunelly.
Pablo Power sad but true..
Chris is literally saying the words “Rusty Cage”......
“Drawing Flies”.
Drawing Flies was played before Rusty Cage. They must have put the song title late.

Chris Cornell was channeling Jim Morrison at 15:30 ... so sad that he is gone. I was fortunate to see him live best concert ever !!!!!

Chris turned into Jim Morrison at 15:00.
pimpolo pimpolini Hey, dick head...I'm a fan of Soundgarden. That part he did was the exact same thing Jim Morrison did(if you even know who that is), which tells me Chris was a fan of him and his band.

The bass IS UNBELIEVABLE
They were the best rock band of the 90s, and the best of grunge. Alice In Chains was cool because it had Layne Stanlley and today Jerry Cantrell can't hold it together, SoundGarden is one of those bands that with RARELY exceptions ALL the members are top level musicians, just like the Beatles or PinkFloyd, where all the members were talented and multifaceted.

Very nice guys, I partied with them at a grateful Dead concert in 92. Awesome people
1992 i was 17 years old it was one of the best years of my life i still have great memories of those golden times.
Alice in Chains and Soundgarden the best bands of that time but the media choice was Nirvana.
Great injustice with AIC and Soundgarden.
don´t Forget pearl jam, candlebox and rage against the machine
NARKISDUDE
Well let's not say Nirvana "contacted" MTV to do MTV Unplugged...in fact, the relationship between Nirvana and MTV was in the toilet because Nirvana was furious at MTV because of their behavior.
Nirvana did not want to go to the MTV Video music Awards that September (1993) and MTV threatened them by saying not that they would never play Nirvana videos again, but that MTV would never play *ANY* videos by other groups that Nirvana's management, Gold Mountain represented...
MTV's behavior was despicable.
tnx for the info, now I hate these mo'fuckers even more (MTV)
other than that, my point was that it's good publicity you know, to have lots of music videos etc., even if it means selling out and at times shorten the length of the song because THEY think its too long. unless you're Justin Timberlake and in that case a 10 minute video is peachy(: ...
I keep forgetting which festival this is, thank god that banner keeps interrupting every 2 seconds to remind me.
+465marko lmao
RITE!😂

Well you see there was this ancient thing called TV where there was different channels that you would switch Hopi g something good would be on before you could pick what you wanted to watch, I know weird concept but keep with me here so when people switched to a channel that had something like this on it would tell you what you were watching in case you hadn't been watching from the beginning.

the fact that cam can do this on that simple of a drum kit is mind blowing
The bass is tuned to “drop knee”
The drums on Jesus Christ Pose sound so much more powerful than on the studio version..
Way less compression,sooooo much better…
This is definitely a live band. All of these live recordings sounds so much better than the studio cuts.

No Chris seemed too humble to think that way. Especially in 1992.
