You don't need a vacuum sealer...Place the eggs in a zip freezer bag...Zip it mostly closed...go to you kitchen sink filled with water...place the bag into the water to just below the zipper...the water will force all the air out of the bag... then close the zipper all the way...
Hi there, I have cured and brined a set of salmon roe and stored them in a jar in the fridge. I forgot to transfer them to the fridge It has been 4-5 months and noticed the sides are beginning to look dark and perhaps mild mold. I wanted to ask if you would still consider taking them out and freeze to fish in the summer or are have they spoiled ? Big fan of your channel.
Several variables... Bacteria levels in your eggs after curing (kind of an unknown but a contributor to mold) temperature of your fridge and type of cure. The colder you keep your eggs, the better. It really cuts down on bacteria growth. My bait fridge is at 34 degrees and eggs will keep up to 3 months without molding or smelling bad..
Great way to keep the eggs! I recently acquired a bunch of jars of coho eggs from 4 years ago. I thawed them and pulled them out of the jar. They looked and kept amazing. I'm thinking about jaring them as well now. Do you have any experience with jaring these eggs? Thanks just a local Washington state fisherman here👍
Would not first separating you entre batch into single days usage, be something to consider instead of defrosting the total batch that won't be used...Ok...I've gone fishing ...and I'm heading home ...how do I store the eggs I have left?
I have always cut baits to size, as I use them. For left-over skein, I simply store them on paper towels, in a container in my fidge. Bait can last in a refrigerator for a month or more, just fine, with no issues.
Great info. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!

Spoiled in my opinion
Hi great video! I was wondering which microphone you are using? The clarity is very good.
We use SHURE lapel mics, transmitters and receivers in studio.
How long can they last cured in the fridge?

@@FishHuntNorthwest Thank You for the Reply😀
Have you ever vacuum sealed them in a canning jar to freeze them?
I know some do. I use bags and then the freezer bags.
