Everytime i use this on loose eggs i either get complely dried out mushy eggs or they just get soupy in the bag and dont toughen up at all so they just break when i try and wrap sacs… what am i doing wrong
You don't use them on loose eggs you want to use the cure on skien when the eggs are in a membrian and thr cure helps hold the membrain together and gives it flavor
You can water harden loose eggs first, dry on paper towel then use this cure. Just water hardening works decent too, they just aren't really preserved, but will tie easily
In my experience, this can keep skein much more durable and less likely to fall apart on my hook, and allow for longer/more drifts per chunk I use. Rack drying the cured skein (once it's completely reabsorbed it's juice) seems to make the skein last longer in refrigeration in my experience too.
hey guys thanks for the cool video,im a big fan of the products and have been using them for along time.i live in the pnw and the egg cures work great in our rivers.i appreciate all that you guys have done and the good products that you have put out.keep up the good work
Fire Cure is a sulfite formula - BorX O Fire is borax based. So many factors to determine which you need to use. Are you fishing for salmon or steelhead? Do you want a wet or dry egg?
These videos always crack me up. Eventually, by the end of each video he has 6 different things thrown together. You think maybe he’s trying to get people to buy all these products?😂
To each their own - we encourage you to use what you are confident in - just like this angler did. And, they make a living off it daily, so using it over and over again must work;)
is it possible to do a time laps on the curing processes
Good question, if anyone can do it - it's Big D!
I don't even fish but this was informative af lol
We call him Big D for a reason!
Hey pautz huge fan! I did this recipe last night to make ikura and I’m feeling a little bit sick this morning

You just tie the loose in the spawn sacs

Make sure you are not over curing loose eggs and forsure water harden loose eggs makes them into bouncy balls.
I see that some people leave their eggs on a drying rack after the 24 our cure process. Any reason for or against this?

Is the Fire Gel water or oil based?
I want to cure to use eggs to tie up egg sacs. What is the difference between fire cure borax o fire? What should I use?

@@TeamPautzke steelhead and browns, whatever works better for egg sacks
What cure do you think would work best in that case? Not a new fisherman but new to bait fishing for steelhead. Thanks!
So I cured the egg with fire cure. Can I add borx fire night before the fishing to make it last longer on the hook ?
I would just add regular borax if you allready used fire cure.
