- The greatest Football Manager quest one can take is finding the hidden wonderkids within. We've done it. 20 of the brightest 18-and-under players most virtual managers don't know about.. yet. All identified and explained.
We weigh the strengths and weaknesses of each and even found the next potential world's best player. FM20 has given us some of its secrets, keep your eyes on the scouting department playlist for more wonderkid breakthroughs, suggestions, and rankings to help you win.
We also have defenders, midfielders and forwards (plus a goalkeeper!) to keep you balanced in your signings.

Luke Daley - capped at U19 level, playing first-team football as a left-back for Aberdeen
Maarten Vandevoordt - 2 caps for Belgium at Man City, their second GK
Omer Beyaz - 4 caps for Turkey, bought by Inter, constantly loaned out, sold to Napoli and loaned out again, now at Bologna finally playing first-team Serie A football
Oscar Bobb - still at Man City, constantly loaned out, currently first-team player at Maccabi Haifa in Israel
Pedro Brazao - bought by Wolves for 67 million euros in 2023, first-team Premiership player
Jude Bellingham - insane attributes, star for Bournemouth (bought for 7,75M), worth 67 million euros, 19 caps for England and 3 goals
Jeremy Doku - 9/1 for Belgium, bought by Genk for 12,25M, moved to Lazio, played two seasons in their first team, moved to Milan for 45M, plays first team
Yari Verschaeren - 7/1 for Belgium, still at Anderlecht, almost 200 games for them in his career, worth 22 million
Bryan Gil - became a star for Sevilla as early as the second season, bought by Liverpool for 59 million in 2023, still uncapped for Spain
Eduardo Camavinga - moved to Stoke and then to Borussia Monchengladbach, plays Bundesliga first-team football, changed national allegiance to France and was capped for their U21s
Diogo Nascimento - 2 caps for Portugal, star for Benfica, moved to Man City for 71 million, where he slowly gets more and more playing time, insane attributes (technique, passing, first touch, off the ball, decisions all around 16-17)
Lazar Samardzic - never left Hertha, almost 150 games for them, capped for Germany U21
Matheus Rampon - managed to get 5 games in Brazilian Serie A, then was sold to Portimonense for 4400 euros (yes, that's right), where he has been stuck in the reserves for the last two years. Now at 23 I think his chance is gone
Myron Boadu - capped for Dutch U21, played well for AZ, moved to Lille for 13,5 million and has been their star for the last two seasons in Ligue 1
Matias Palacios - 7 caps for Argentina, bought for just 6,25 million by Man Utd in 2021, slowly getting more and more games for the Red Devils
Benjamin Nygren - capped for Sweden U21, constantly loaned out, finally found his place at Perugia, first-team Serie A player
Naci Unuvar - capped for Holland (13/2), bought by Napoli for 28 million, playing first-team football for them
Sebastiano Esposito - 27/9 for Italy, over 100 games for Inter, their superstar, worth 77 million
Ilaix Moriba - capped for Spain U21, 16 games for Barcelona, loaned to Getafe and Milan, now at Barcelona B, worth 23 million
Rayan Cherki - capped for France U21, bought for only 2,3 million by Man City before the second season, plays for them more often than not, worth 42 million
just compared the hight of those with my 2024 save. most of them grew 1", some grew 2" and some didnt grow at all. one guy even lost a inch, lol.
ps: yeah, Matheus Rampon didnt develop at all. in 2024 he is a free agent, lol. perhaps i wil get him just for the lulz.

Similar here, Jan 2025, some players have been scouted at range 50-65. Only few made it to a good level.
BTW, I have Haaland and I would call him a beast. Same number of goals as wasted chances. Pretty annoying.

Raphael Santos Borré from River is a good bargain for just 2 mil, scored 23 goals for me in 35 games. Has an aggresive personality but great stats.
Actual Birmingham city fan here and Jude Bellingham has an even younger brother called Jobe Bellingham and both of them are straight ballers. Keep an eye on them in the future 💪🏻💪🏻

Jude Bellingham and Sebastiano Esposito done really well in my third season with my Newcastle save. Bellingham at 17 yo become rotation with Quina at AMC. Esposito break my ST Greenwood-Kean partnership in third season, Esposito a beast at pressing defenders while Greenwood charge fowards and Kean relegated to the bench. Nice wonderkids to have.

There are a few Scottish youngsters who turn out to be quite super on FM. Harry Cochrane (DLP) and Aaron Hickey (LB) (both from Hearts), Lee O'Connor (RB)(Celtic), Ross McRorie (BWM) (Rangers) have been some massive buys who came for dirt cheap.

facundo pellistri from Peñarol have a great future, in my save with penarol, 2020 i had to sell him because dortmund offered 8.5 M euros, now he is in dortmund with 40 M value, 1 month in dortmund and already team of the month
Actually Onana is a goalkeeper that developed explosively. He was a joke in the youth team and making the weirdest mistakes. literally weirdest mistakes
Truth is, by the time this video was uploaded I didn't know most of them. But I have to say one thing. Sebastiano Esposito is a beast. I loaned him for a backup striker and he won the golden boot by the age of 19. I was lucky enough he had a release clause of 20M. Best 20m spent
I got Moriba for £325k from the transfer list at Barca about 3 seasons in LOL, became a first-team player for my PSG team :p

Guys, if you need a striker, who will become a wonderkid, just go to Rapid Vienna U18 or the second team and get Yusuf Demir. Guaranteed 20 goals a season 4+ stars potential
In fm 21, he is a wonder kid and he cost 28.5 million from the start
It's actually Boadu's second season in AZ mains team. At 16 years old he had 3 goals and 2 assists in his first 5 games, in the fifth game he broke his ankle and only recovered in april. Then this season he started the same but didnt break his ankle.
I always look for these things when looking for a young prospect: technique; determination; work rate; general physical attributes
Well, continuing on the topic, I went to some lengths, but here it is. A list of 10 proven wonderkids for less than 10 million euros:
I basically sorted all players 25 and younger in my 2025 save by value and then chose only those whose first transfer fee in the game was under 10 million euros. Here it is - the must-buy list.

@Hidden Gem He was stupid good in FM19 as well, had him in my Leverkusen save last year and he was better than tonali and havertz at some point. Also Jose Juan Macias ends up at Bayern or Schalke in every save I play this year, I have no Idea why.

Found a few new names to scout for my game but don't undersell Yari Verschaeren - in one of my games 5 years in the future he certainly is a World XI caliber player. If you only buy one from this list, he's a very, VERY good choice.

I loved this video, but it would be cool to see more defensive players. One I'd be keen to know about is Nicolo Armini. I picked him up for £6.5M from Lazio and I already have PSG sniffing around for him. Would be keen to know of other defenders with high cealings, particularly those with a left foot.

I bought Moriba in my Manchester United save from Barcelona for €110M in 2021
he scored a hat trick on his debut, grabbed the Premier League golden boot with 22 goals and he got the average rating of 8.45
not bad for a Mezzala
oh and he also scored the only goal in World Cup final in my save despite being less than 20 years old
I also bought Benjamin Nygren because of his versatility and he turned out great as SS and IW

I bought for Naci Unuvar for £775k at the start of my Spurs Save. Currently in 2023, he is 19 and just breaking into my first team along with Emmanuel Vignato. Bellingham is a 4/4.5 star player - he's only 19 and already insane stats - 18 determination, 18 pace, 14/15's for most stats now.
Seems like they were right about Bellingham.
How do you look at stats and determine who is going to make it and who isnt - thats my problem I see a guy with loads of green and they never play well for me

why did you base your information of people's ability on scout reports, instead of just checking the in-game value for potential ability?
maybe you did exactly that, but it seemed to me in the video, by the way you were presenting things, that you hadn't done it.

Out of curiousity only, I looked Matheus Rampon up in my Tombense save (MG, Brazil), and he was released from Paranaense in 2023, and have retired after that.
Had to find him manually in Paranaense's transfer history, of released players.
My game year is 2025 now.
Sounds like a rare thing that he actually gets close to his PA.
His PA is worse now too
My game status says I started on 21st of April 2020.
Sometimes too many players on FM retire early, is my take on it.

Im playing FM19. Due to corona virus and a lot of free time I have been updating FM19 players with stats from FM20 by using fmdataba.com. I have spent around 150 hours on updating stats on players and adding all the new wonderkids of age 15-16. It was actually fun, believe it or not -:) NOW I can start playing.

Morilla can be a really decent player if you invest enough time for him and he doesn't cost that much.

I think you should actually scout the players and show their potential so we know how good they are and how good they could get

Does anyone know what the average rating is for players that fall into these brackets? Such as “champions league player” etc
150 CA is generally the cutoff for a good player in a CL side. 160+ is more for serious challengers of the CL.
Can anybody help tell me what I'm doing wrong please: I'm looking at some of the wonderkids on the list, several of whom are theoretically dirt cheap (Unavar is valued at 180k for example) but they, and any other player I try to sign are INSANELY marked up by the AI managers! Using Unavar as an example with his 180k value, they expect me to offer 22.5m for him... What the actual fudgesicles?!
market value is nearly always higher than the amount you have to pay because of contract. I dont know how regular the market value gets updated but this could be another reason
