Here's the article I mention at the end: makingstarwars.net/2022/12/wild-rumors-and-set-pics-star-wars-skeleton-crews-ahsoka-connections/
SPOILERS!!!!!!!
What if Ezra and Thrawn encounter the forerunner forces of the Yuuzhan Vong?
Thanks
@@shinystarmiestudios4179 I don't know what that is and what it means but ok.
@Shiny Starmie Studios
I'm not sure. I'm guessing Ezra will help Thrawn battle the Grysk.
Don't tease us Star Fox Fans. You know how desperate we are.
It’s been years, of course we’re gonna listen. You have established yourself over the years as a lover of Star Wars. And it’s beautiful. Your navigation through the algorithms, the years of uncertainty, and the questioning of our loved universe’s creators… it’s led to such a respect for your voice, both physical and educational.
You both understand the material, and know it; and that’s why I’ve stuck around since 10k subscribers. I’m glad you’ve made it this far; I was a faithful viewer before your corgi iconography. I would return home from middle school to watch my mainly viewed channel- you. And I will be until it’s no longer your memento; if that day ever horizons.
Long winded way of saying, your viewers know and respect you. A lot. And we’ve only grown in numbers. Keep it up, Eck.
I love your love of the universe I, too, love. And I have for years now, which is hard to believe.
That’s a very kind and thoughtful comment, thanks for leaving it.
@@EckhartsLadder thank you for entertaining and enlightening us, more and more with each upload :)
@@julykirkpatrick5357 probably the best way i have seen this said and it is 100% true
Yep I’m a newer subscriber but I am extremely picky about the star wars content I watch. Eckhart is one of them. Great stuff 🤘
I was always confused on stuff like the Gree and Chiss existing in the Kotor era and still be “unknown” during the Imperial era… its 1000 years and no one bothered to check what those guys were doing?!
The Chiss became isolationists because of the Sith and Jedi war so after a 1000 years their species became lost to history because they stopped popping up.
There's a bit of dialogue in one of the Thrawn: Ascendancy books that corresponds with what @mightheal said.
The Chiss were also extremely isolationist. going to check up on them would possibly result in missing ships.
it isnt entirely by choice either. navigation through "the chaos" of the unknown region's is extremely difficult. which can dissuade people rather hard.
that's a fuckup on the game devs part. Lore-wise, it doesn't make sense and can be discarded easily
So I really have a hope that Ezra and Thrawn team up in a way when they see whatever threat is bigger then the grisk, which we know Thrawn has an interest in from the Thrawn novels, and that perhaps the dynamic between Thrawn and Ezra would be like Joruus C'Baoth in heir to the empire, with each biting at eachother's throats but having a bigger goal in mind. This is set up by Ezra using the dark side in rebels. I would love the Vong to be brought in but I kinda doubt it, love to be surprised though!
Give us Christopher Llyod as The C'Baoth Clone, cuz you need a Wacky Old Man to play a Wacky Old Jedi Clone.
Thrawn supporting a failed empire like in Legends would not fit with his canon character, so I agree. It actually seems rather logical for him and Ezra to team up. And we have to consider that Ezra and Thrawn are not around for the OT so whatever happens to them must take them away from the rest of the galaxy.
@@achillesa5894 he might be using the remaining empire to build a fleet to fight the Grysks
Meh, Ezra is such a waste of a character to match with Thrawn. Luke skywalker needs to be Thrawns adversary, not friggin B team Ezra and friends.
6 videos in 24 hours? Thanks for all the content you've been pumping out recently Eck
you're welcome!
@@EckhartsLadder can you make a video of rewriting sequels? It would be cool to se how you wanted sequels to be.
I feel like you’re the most grounded of all of the Star Wars UA-camrs. You always have good takes, you try to have a positive outlook on things but you still tell it as it is. Your honest thoughts are always welcome here.
You're the only Star Wars lore channel I even watch anymore honestly because I absolutely love the way you approach topics and your non Star Wars content is always awesome too!
Agreed; Eck has the best breakdowns and analyses, although I do watch SWE for his episode recaps/reviews of the big shows, as he can just present an interesting third opinion on it, as well as for his quality easter egg video breakdowns for seasons and stuff
Pablo flipped it. In Legends Wild Space was charted and mapped but there was no space faring civilizations or technology. Basically the wild west. Unknown Regions was that. Unknown. Nobody knew what was there.
Sometimes I find it hilarious that even after the face reveal, I still imagine Eckharts Ladder as a talking Shiba every time I watch his videos.
And one who plays Home when you boop him on the head 😄
The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many powers some consider to be unnatural.
I love all of the Thrawn books. I could love to see some of those turned into movies. The entire series and all the different races/empires, along with the Chiss Ascendancy, is amazing.
No SW novel should ever be turned into a movie, imo; shows are in 95 out if a hundred cases going to be better, with more time to expand on characterization and include lore. It's really no contest imo.
Only if a book has a story that's short enough that it can be wrapped up within a movies runtime and particularly if the story doesn't work if you split it up, should it then be a movie
6:35 Red Honeycomb Zone actually sounds like something astrophysicists would come up with to call a nebula or something.
Yeah, and since Pablo Hidalgo probably coined that term, it's likely that was the thought process. I like it, it's a neat name. Better than 'Zone Red-45xD'.
It really does lol
I often thought of Wild Space in the process of how in the US we'd often refer to the "Wild West" that being an area that maybe isn't as developed as other areas or is still in the early stages of being developed
It could also be used in a romantical view of "He just came from Wild Space so he must be tough" mantra
A
Talk about whatever you want bro. Your content is great, we're here to listen 🙂🙏
It would be cool if Thrawn and Ezra were secretly building an army to face off against the coming grysk or against growing first order, setting the latter back a years into the sequels.
My Man! In my opinion you are one of the top 10 Star Wars UA-cam commentators on the planet! So I definitely love hearing anything you have to say about Star Wars!
You goin to talk about the Ascendancy Trilogy? You gon talk about the Ascendancy Trilogy?
you have filled my mind with much Star Wars Trivia and my belly full of discounted ramen over these last five years
Sabine: "Where could this 'Newspace' be?"
Ahsoka: "I don't know. I've looked in the north, the south, the east, the west and the center of the galaxy."
Both: *thinking*
Both: *look UNDER the galaxy*
Both: "Aha!"
What I'm hoping to see is Ezra taking on the "mad Jedi" role that Joruus C'baoth played in the OG Thrawn trilogy. We've seen numerous times his teetering between the light and the dark, and I think it would be a fascinating development for him to have gone mad because he lost everyone he knew aside from Thrawn, a deadly enemy--and one he's presumably forced to work with to return home.
An ad played right at 3:32 so all I heard was “it’s sort of Sportcheck” when you were talking about wild space
The passion you have for Star Wars fuels and reinforces my passion for Star Wars ❤. There are a million things I’d love to pick your brain about and these more informal videos feel like we’re just chatting about SW. I love them, keep ‘em coming 😁
Videos like these are one of the reasons I love your channel so much. It's just nice to hear somebody who's been a fan of the old EU Star wars material for so long gushing about the things you like, dislike, and find intriguing. Star wars was my first fandom as a kid, and I loved reading the old books and even some of the newer ones when they came out (finding "outbound flight" at my local library days after it released was amazing). Thanks, Ecks!
Great video! I'm glad you brought up this topic. Please keep these videos coming.
The old definition makes way more sense. With the Legends discription of Wild Space sounding almost like the Wild West. And the Unknown Regions being, you know, unknown
Fleet battle
Rebel fleet at Endor vs. Cole’s fleet at Cole’s last stand. With each being commanded by their respective admirals
I’ve been here since pretty close to the beginning and I have to say I’ve always loved these free flowing videos a tad more than some of the other content you obviously have a huge amount of Star Wars knowledge and I absolutely live for it!
If Disney followed the path of the Expanded Universe and certain stories, it would have been 100% successful in the fans eyes
Except for the fact that Disney would be doing it
I agree, the original Thrawn trilogy would've been perfect to adapt for 7 8 9, instead of Emperors Hand.
It would still be better than what we have now.
@@scottf5791 lol yeah everything they touch nowadays turned to the blackest of Tar
Kind of wish they didn’t use dark empire as a reference for the last film. Never really enjoyed that storyline in legends either.
Been watching you for a while and only just subscribed RIP.. I very much enjoy your perspectives and speculation of events. You help bring this universe to life with how seriously you get into detail and I've learned a ton from you. Keep up the great work!
I love them informal way you conduct your content!! Feels like a discussing Star Wars with a friend
Love your content provide such a different and cool perspective of the star wars universe i may not have been a long time fan as other people but im glad i subbed to your channel regardless love yah eck 😎👍
You sir are one of the more entertaining star wars experts on you tube I like to listen to
Personally I have a growing interest in Kamino, the Rishi Maze, and everything in the area. Kamino is so far the only Extragalactic planet in Star Wars and it isn’t even in the Rishi Maze. Does Kamino have neighbors in this area between galaxies? Secret relations with planets in both galaxies? Such revelations would also lead to development of the Abrion Sector, the sector of space containing Rishi, its moon, and Scarif. Most importantly, what are the secrets of the Rishi Maze?
According to Legends material about Companion Aurek, an alternate name for the Rishi Maze, few have traveled into the dwarf galaxy only to later claim they only found space anomalies and dead worlds, though some people doubt these explorers and think they’re are hiding secrets for their own benefit. SWTOR has the Sith Inquisitor meet a Sith scientist who has been studying the dwarf galaxy and makes contact via comms with some unknown being or faction connected to the Dark Side of the Force and help create machines that extend the life of the Inquisitor, hinting they may have the key to immortality. And finally when Han Solo and Chewbacca get a job to deliver supplies to a secret Rebel mining base in the dwarf galaxy a year before A New Hope, they encounter a large destroyed Sith warship that still has drones to deploy, along with Han having a tough time navigating the Rishi Maze because of all the black holes and radiation bombarding the Millenium Falcon.
Since the Bad Batch has shown the Kaminoans once had a lab on the planet Bora Vio, it does present the possibility the Kaminoans might have had plenty of secret facilities in the Rishi Maze if it really is uninhabited like Legends implies. And the Intergalactic Banking Clan by the definition of its name, should also have contacts in other galaxies. Basically, the Rishi Maze is underutilized a lot. And that’s just worse in Legends since they had a couple of comics centered around species of the Firefist galaxy bringing their war to the Star Wars Galaxy after the Battle of Endor. And that is supposed to be the second closest galaxy, further away then the Rishi Maze.
This is why for a Fanfiction series I want to write, I have a secret part of the Clone Wars be fought in the Rishi Maze. Part of this is because clone troopers are the main characters and I love them, as well as the fact that lately, Prequel material has been focused mostly on Ahsoka, the Jedi characters, and Padme and the Senate at the expense of other characters. But one of the biggest reasons is the fact that I view the best era of Star Wars to have characters explore and have adventures in the Rishi Maze would be when Kamino, the closest world to the dwarf galaxy, is part of the galactic community. For most of its time it was left alone with only shady folks having secret cloning purchases with Kamino. And after the Empire destroys every city, I just imagine the faction lost all interest in nearby space meaning they for some reason don’t want to invade and conquer the Rishi Maze. Why? The Clone Wars would be a good answer.
Anyways, other fans will be very interested in further exploration of the Unknown Regions and Wild Space. I instead think it’s time the Rishi Maze stopped being in the background.
I think it would be highly unlikely for something like Kamino to be in contact with other galaxies. It does not really suit their tech level, and while they are outside of the Star Wars galaxy, they are only JUST outside of it. The space between it and the Galaxy at large is negligible, at least compared to between it and… anything else. Rishi is also once again only JUST beyond the Galaxy at large, though it is bigger and thus can actually have threats. The only use it sees in the clone wars is for a listening base on an extremely hostile moon, which means that yeah, that’s likely gonna be one of the more hospitable places in the maze. It’s not an important enough area to build anything larger than the base to help warn in case the separatists use it to reach Kamino, but like, places like Felucia were similarly hostile but absolutely crucial because they were in much more significant positions in the Galaxy, there’s undoubtedly bigger all from the republic out in that maze, most likely because yeah, hyper-hostility, which could definitely be used to tell stories
@@lazydroidproductions1087 Um, the Rishi Moon and the Planet Rishi are actually in the Star Wars Galaxy. The Rishi Maze got its name because everyone could see the dwarf galaxy from the planet Rishi.
@@tristankawatsuma8962 ah, my mistake. Then it’s even more worthless and abandoned by the Galaxy at large than I thought!
@@lazydroidproductions1087 Actually the issue with the Rishi Maze is similar with the Unknown Regions, too dangerous to enter with all the anomalies and not mapped out. Sure, the few surviving explorers say they found only dead worlds, but maybe they’re lying to hoard a fortune for themselves. And the Rebels set up a mining station in the Rishi Maze which the Empire deemed important enough to destroy. The issue is more that there hasn’t been a proper effort to explore the Rishi Maze. In SWTOR, the Sith Inquisitor can say no to a search for immortality in the Rishi Maze out of fear such a journey would be wasteful to the Sith Empire. We see in Kegends what happened to the Outnound Flight when it went to the Unknown Regions, so people may have been reluctant to try the same with a whole dwarf galaxy. I highly doubt the Rishi Naze has no significant purpose to the factions and worlds of the Star Wars Galaxy. They just need to properly explore it first.
Does it orbit a certain star?
I love listening to you describe places an things.I can see the places an things when you described them.
You're among the best loyal content creators of the Star Wars community. I've always enjoyed your perspective and your way of being mature, and focused on what helps build the story and world of SW.
The Unknown Regions is an untapped gold mine for so many stories. From any era you can extrapolate countless tales, myths and legends based on past, present or future content. It's a recipe of true Sci-fi, journeying into the unknown frontiers or have someone/something come out of it.
I love these videos explaining the lore best! Especially anything about the unknown regions!
Eck you’re the most trusted voice in Star Wars on YT and if you’re not you should be. You built a lot of credibility with me through your deep knowledge of and love for the lore but I stayed because you consistently prove that a measured and nuanced take is something to be treasured in what has turned out to be a very toxic fandom.
Loved this essay. These areas are great ways to push Star Wars in some new and interesting directions for stories.
Please do more of unknown parts of space like this. No other youtubers or most star wars fan have ever touched this kind of topic. They just focus of what they know within the star wars realm
I love watching your content and yes I will watch whatever you post bro!
If you are looking for aliens and tech that is *weird* the Expanse series, especially the last 3 books, does the cosmic alien mystery really really well. Granted, it is very very different fiction from star wars, but its really good.
Any other sci Fi recommendations
My hope for Thrawn and Ezra are they get hurled to an area and have to work together in a Battlestar Galactica or Star Trek Voyager esque journey. Thrawn needs Ezra as he's the only force sensitive and can Skywalk (navigate). He has the plans for the Defender, which he could use to build new fighters on this journey (clawcraft). He has his fleet but low supplies. It could be a very interesting setup. Over time Ezra could learn that Thrawn isn't quite as evil as he thought - still animosity between them, but an interesting relationship could develop.
When I hear Wild Space I think of the American Wild West. Sparce towns and homesteads. Difficult travel and near lawlessness
The area Justin talks about at the end of the video reminds me of the Kathol Rift region from the West End Games RPG. It was also poorly mapped and populated by people with a different understanding of the Force.
That sounds interesting, I'll have to look that up!
it’s a sort of conversation with the audience about something we both enjoy, while facts can be fun these type of vids feel a bit more personal, a fan of both types, all love, keep up the great work 🤙
now that it's been said, yes after some time you do deserve people to listen, and i for one amd glad i did because omg like i'm also super happy the unknown regions are being explored more. like frfr no cap
Thanks for this insightful video! Would love to see an existential threat, one where traditional enemies must unite to survive, as inter-factional conflict is overdone and stale at this point.
Love your content
Eckhart is just such a down to earth dude and sounds like someone who is just always fun to chill with
_"There is much talk, and I have listened, through rock and metal and time. Now I shall talk, and you shall listen." __-Gravemind-__ Eck_
Lore facts are indeed nice to listen to, but more causal discussions and speculations are decent as well.
As for the Unknown Regions, there is still a lot of great intriguing and potential for that area of Star Wars space.
After all, the sole purpose of a mystery is for it to be solved.
To me “new space” sounds like Otherspace. Why use that specific verbiage if it’s in the Unknown Regions? Or are they trying to rename the UR to “new space?”
They're most likely trying to keep locations secret from leakers so they use a generic name.
i like how you nerd out.. keeps me watching!
I love the idea of exploring "New Space". And just like in Rebels with the Lasaats coming from Wild Space originally; having the Nightsisters/Nightbrothers coming from this region would be an amazing addition!
They’re from Dathomir though
I’ve always loved Legends, like the Imperial Bioweapons. And more.
It’s interesting but I’m always worried when they say “use the force in never before thought of ways”. This always feels like a line that leads to lore breaking powers such as the force dyad stuff and the teleporting. Idk I like the idea of the “Skywalkers” and how they used the force and the different ways other cultures view and use the force but when you start coming up with convenience points or plot devices that surround “a part of the force no one ever sees” it feels like you’re breaking lore to make your writing easier instead of working within the lore
Filoni breaking lore? Never happened before 😉
Wasn’t force teleportation a thing in legends?
@@HenryLouis21 it was taught by the Aang Tii and it was only small objects that had to be seen and only over distances of literally a foot. It was never used outside of one reference from my knowledge
Oh its coming don't worry, soon teleporting, flying, shooting rockets out of your hand will be possible with the "Hidden totally not just made up to excuse our horrible writing" force and then we will have Dhor's saber that can only be wielded by one man and the star wars version of avengers.
@@thatzachguy76 Darth Jadus from SWTOR could do it in short distances. He was second to none save for the unbelievable powerful Sith Emperor, who teleported his spirit to an entirely different star system (Ziost).
I like that things have gotten more informal! It's nice to hear your opinions and I think you've earned the credibility to be a Star Wars professor.
Admittedly it's also cathartic hearing that arguably the preeminent Star Wars UA-camr thinks the sequel trilogy had some structural problems and changed some pieces of cannon for the worse. I remember talking to 2 of my friends about The Last Jedi and the reason why I felt like the movie was a slap in the face to me and one of them actually called me stupid, as if I didn't generally understand film and that it had utilized every element of filmmaking and storytelling that it had employed to its maximum degree. So hearing that an established, trustworthy source on Star Wars material agrees that there are flaws makes me feel like I was right to have my convictions.
I always wanted them to do more with the satellite galaxies, I wonder if this new space is one of them.
I like using them in my SW story concepts. I'm about to use one of them in my newest story about 3 sentient droid brothers who's lives reconverge at the dawn of interstellar war and the rebirth of an impossible evil.

Love the SF64 reference you put there Eck.
Red honeycomb zone also sounds like a band lol
Hey eck, I was looking at your background music playlist, you could try using Com Truise “Brokendate”, I think it would fit very well with your videos. Hope you see this (: have a good one
Obsidian had a really great idea for KOTOR 3, where you would venture into the Unknown Region in your search for Revan & come across a massive Sith Empire being controlled by Sith Beings of immense power.
I wish we got to witness the game..
Fuck that sounds amazing
Ahh fuck why did we never get this game.... Jesus christ sounds amazing.
i like it would also give them room to expand and for Star wars to evolve well keeping good old Star wars true to its self
why would anyone want to get to Episode 9?
Professor Eck. 😉😊
Keep the lessons coming boss.
"Specifically the Red parts," 🤣
I fucking love it when you just talk about start wars, that's why I'm here, screw what the algorithm wants. Love you Eck :)
The scariest thing in star wars universe traveling wild or unknown space are the wraith's made up of pure darkside, can kill by sonic and can be heard on the outside of the ship where there is no sound. I can't remember where I watched the video but it's shit straight out of Warhammer 40k it's dark and grim and I love it. It may have even been here I heard of it but if you have a ship with even just 1 force sensitive and you hear it in the distance it's game over, I can't remember if it's by sight or hearing the wraith, but the video I watched said they were pure darkside entities like wounds in the force but sentient like Nihilus. Idc what anyone says we don't have any confirmations on what's out in wild space so this is still cannon in my books
Would you recommend any articles, books or sourcebooks about the Unknown Regions? I'm interested both in legends and canon
LORE! LORE!!
I kind of hope in Ashoka or some other Star wars series we see thrawn Ezra come back not as enemies but allies, though with a shaky alliance. The relationship coming to existence being thrawn and Ezra due to the events that happened at lothal, into a kind of scenario similar to the movie Enemy Mine in which they end up in the unknown regions and they have to work together to survive, we're which thrawn shows Ezra the horrors that dwell within the region and he reveals his true purpose for serving the empire, that being an agent of the chiss. In which results in him converting him to his cause due to the mysterious threat that dwells out there, and have to work together to counter the danger that it presents to the Galaxy. and they have this strange grudging respect dynamic going on.
"A lack of planning had it falling flat" ... Disney SW in a nutshell
It’s all about execution but cautiously optimistic about it
There’s also the Hapan spiral region that remained largely unexplored due to how difficult it was to get there.
You and The Stupendous Wave are about the only StarWars channels I listen to anymore. I've loved your lore, explaining videos, and you make things interesting! More so you can tell the passion you have for it, and there isn't that negativity that so many Star Wars Channels have anymore. Keep up the great work!
U can watch watch what u want ofc but stupendous wave and eckhart ladder are not in the same category. Ecks the goat and don't need much said but stupendous wave makes vids based on lies, speculation, his own views or will be so vague that he makes a vid and collects views yet really said nothing at all and will then pass them off as fact. He was even doing fake lightsaber giveaways to drum up views for a very long time. Just a kinda slimey guy overall and once his content became more nonsensical and pointless I had to walk away but just don't take what he says as 100% Canon for legends or disney Canon as like he said he talks shit
@@TY-km8hj you*
Stupendous is irritatingly repetitive tbh but it’s an okay channel.
What battle was that at the very end that was sick looking want more info please
It's from his short film "Battle Of The Dreadnoughts"
Getting close to 1 mil!
In the EU I always understood it that a least a decent chunk of the "northern" unknown regions was controlled by the Chiss Ascendency and was as unexplored because the Ascendency was pretty xenophobic before the Vong and captured or killed anyone entering there area and we don't really get any story's or lore that is chiss centric to really give us an idea of that parts layout
I don't hate the sequel trilogy, but there was definitely a lack of cohesive narrative tying the three movies together.
That being said, I definitely like some of the stuff about the Unknown Regions in the RoS Visual Dictionary. I want more of that. The Rakata, Reven, Koriban.
I wish they had brought in the Jedi compasses talked about in the visual dictionary too.
Does the wookiee claatuvac guild have any hyperspace routes into the unknown regions?
Maybe Ezra and thrawn end up in one of the satellite galaxies like the rishi maze or firefist.
That could introduce interesting plot elements like discovering the remains of the outbound flight program or maybe some vong scouts.
Fleet battle between
Grand admiral Thrawn vs. Ender Wiggin
Each one has an equal sized fleet with equally capable subordinates, and since Ender is from a different universe each has equal understanding of the technology they’re using. They are in command of Star Wars vessels. Pick a famous fleet of your choosing I’d suggest death squadron
.
Vs matchup Sgt. Johnson(Halo) vs Captain Rex(Star Wars)
Johnson gets Br 55, 1 m6 sidearm and marine BDU
Rex gets DC 15 rifle his pistols and phase 2 clone armor
I go to Eck for all my Star Wars Lore and stuff I had never knew existed. Keep up the amazing work Eck
As long as they don't end up with Mngaal-Mngaal. I kind of wanted a post-credits scene in TLJ where Thrawn and Ezra arrive at Luke's island on Ach-Toin a battered, home-made raft just as the Falcon flies off.
The New Beyond does sound like an interesting idea.
It'd be ingesting if this is beyond wild space since ahsoka is supposedly going to tie back into mandalorian and another
I prefer the the legends interpretation of the regions, it just makes more sense. The unknown regions is this large part of space that hadn't been explored, and wild space is like the wild west
The Ahsoka story rumors sound like they could be adapting the old EU satellite galaxies concept in my opinion. I'm down for that.
Oh yeah, like Kamino being in a satellite only accessible through the Rishi Maze! I think I'm remembering that correctly.
It's not particularly surprising but it's welcomed just like with them dipping into the Old Republic era it would finally allow for new stories and lore to be developed simply beyond Rebels/Republic vs Empire or even Jedi vs Sith and it would give the show runners the room needed to explore creative freedom that is not bound by the delicate management of the canon and continuity of the space and time of the trilogies.
Until now any new story was pretty much limited by the major events of the movies, now not only they can tell entire stories without worrying how they should tie into the canon so far but they can explore new ideas that could be pulled into future trilogies.
I also really like how Star Wars is starting to really explore the EU concept of different views and uses of the force among galactic groups and cultures in live action. It has a lot of great potential for storylines, and the concept is great, but definitely needs to be executed properly.
In the Tarkin novel Palpatine spends a good portion of time speaking about dark side energy and threats coming from the Unknown Regions, yet we aren't still sure what was he refering to
Before I watch the video, you have definitely earned that status, I WILL listen to everything you say, and I don't remember ever disagreeing with any of your opinions or facts
I suspect the reshuffling of the definitions of Wild space wand Unknown Regions (which imo don't make a lot of sense, wild space being like the American western frontier, and unknown regions just being stuff we literally don't know about- feels more realistic. But that's a discussion above my pay grade) partially had to do with resolving the "too many order 66 survivors during the Luke era"- if we have a region of space that's hard to get in and out of, suddenly we have a place to put the surviving Jedi without compromising the original trilogy, which from a storytelling perspective makes a lot of sense and honestly solves like 80 of the empire era plot holes regarding Jedi survivors.
Also: Yoda home world when?
How do we know if the unknown is new if it's the unknown to begin with
I feel like everyone guessed that Ezra and Thrawn were in the Unknown Regions. And that Ahsoka would have to go there to find Ezra.
Bringing the Unknown Regions allows Star Wars to also bring EU/Legends stories/ideas into canon using either new or EU/Legend characters. It could also allow them to explore The Force and other facets of the SW mythos without worrying about when. We really have only a very small timeline of existing movie/d+ content, so they can pretty much go back or forward in the timeline as far they want, as there's almost free creative real estate there that can be used as a fresh slate to possibly bring people back to the next chapter of SW that follows the sequel trilogy. Or go back as far as you want and have the freedom of having those event be lost to time and change that no one would know of.
I don't think any additional content will ever change the absolute mess that episodes 7-9 are.
They'll literally be a chaotic mess no matter what you do to it, there's too many holes to plug.
No outro dog? When did that start?
Dang has it been 5 years?
Mysteries in sci-fi franchises are fun!
Holy shit if this all culminates in them finding exagol imma give up on Star Wars
