Thank you for not only beautifully swatching the colours but also suggesting possible mixes. I really appreciated your insights and look forward to watching more!
I could watch this on repeat (and I ordered this palette thanks to your beautiful swatches and suggestions for colour mixes). Your tiny landscape is total perfection! Thank you.
I just purchased my first set of Roman Szmal's thanks to the Jackson's watercolor sale a few weeks ago. They are so nice! I can't believe it took me so long to try them. Lovely swatch!
🤩Haaaaw ... I love so much your videos, they are always beautiful, sober, without unnecessary chatter and always present the art supplies wonderfully 😍 ❤❤❤ Also your Creations are also very beautifuls and delicates. Thank you very much Mrs Papertude 👍☺ 🌸🌸🌸Yours Sincerely and Artistically , 🌸🌸🌸
I have made my own pallet with these colors and 90% of them are in mine! It's so cool! I love these paints so so much, they're lovely to paint, texture is just PERFECT, and that granulation!
Hiya Lianne, I really enjoyed this video and the suggestions for the extra four pans are great. I'm surprised at the intensity of the pigment and anything from Jane Blundell is great. Thanks very much Lianne, take care and stay safe. x
Thanks David ... Glad you enjoyed it! It's also good to know someone out there is reading my vid's description! 😀 They are lovely paints to use and pretty good value. All the best, take care too! 🤗 PS I use a calibrated pipeline, so if you have a calibrated sceen on your side you should see the coulours and intensity pretty faithfully.
@@Papertude I just wish you had more. I must watch them all every day with the music in the background. They are so soothing and informative. I love your artwork it’s just beautiful.
Thanks Judy! I've a few swatching videos on the channel and more coming soon (I am working on a Japanese one at the momen! ;-) Thanks for your sweet comment 🤗
Lovely review but there’s little error ; hansa Yellow medium, PR144, (PR144 is red pigment) it happens for me, too😝 anyway thank you, it’s always nice to discover new colors.
Thanks for pointing this out! Yes, it should be PY74 for Hansa Yellow Medium. Some of the earlier packaging and online reference swatch cards (including Jane Blundell's blog) have it incorrectly listed as PR144.😅 I should have noticed before upload. You can imagine my facepalm moment! 🤦♀️ 감사합니다
@@Papertude no need!! I upload 1 video about Color mixing every week on youtube and I find always 1 or more errors every weekend 😅 it’s difficult to recognize. Anyway it’s really nice to find your channel and start to communicate with you. 🙌🙌
Excellent Review! I've been interested to see this set. I have most of the colours so would not actually buy this one. Love seeing how other artists curate a palette. I think your ideas for the extra 4 paints are good choices. I hope you enjoy them.
Your swatches are so well done and uniform, they are like a work of art in themselves. I have my eyes on this set. I also have a Q: do you think the set could benefit from lemon yellow (PY3)? Thank you in advance!
Thanks for your lovely comment. The palette itself is well balanced for mixing but, yes, a lemon yellow will be very beneficial to expand green range, especially if you require brighter greens. You can safely squeeze four more pans in this tin. I currently added Azo yellow, Potter's Pink, Mars Black, and Przybysz's Grey. Hope this helps.
@@Papertude you’re welcome and thank you for your reply! Whenever I buy the set I’ll be buy some extra pans including PY3, nickel azo yellow, plus some others. Thanks!
I just purchased a set, and I live in the United States, so it came from Jackson’s. I was very disappointed. Some of the pans were no longer being held in their spaces. Somewhere stuck to the top of the palette. Some of the metal holders were bent. There was like a dust on top of the water color in the pans. None of the pans were numbered so you had to guess by looking at the color swatch on the back of the box as to whether or not, you had the right color to put back in place. I got a couple of them confused right away .I was not happy at all. For the money, they could’ve packaged it a bit better I think. I think the colors are beautiful, but the way it was packaged and the shipping damages didn’t make a good impression or make my purchase very enjoyable.
Hey Judy, It's a real bummer when you're excited, especially after waiting for the delivery, and then it's not as good as it's supposed to be. I totally get it. Having used these a lot, a thicker tin with a heavier finish would be nice to have. Mine scratched up quite easily and my pans are a little loose as well (even when I bend the clips). Despite their honey stickiness the colour performance and behaviour in my set is great. If your batch has any performance issues you should definitely reach out. Hoping you still enjoy these colours in use. Thanks for sharing your experience here - it's super helpful for people to have a full perspective before trying. 🤗
Great video and what a perfect palette. I'd possibly sub out Indian red for Lemon Yellow. Not really a fan of the "mistakes" you can make with Indian Red. And I prefer a warmer yellow paired with Lemon yellow, such as Nickel Azo Yellow. And I prefer Raw Sienna to Gold Ochre. But these are trifles. The palette is awesome.
Great minds think alike - lol - after using a while I definitely agree Lemon Yellow is necessary to expand on mixing posibilites. Great to hear you're also a fan of Nickel Azo Yellow. 🤗 Thanks for sharing!
Excellent video and just what I was looking for! I have had my eye on the Aquarius range for a while and have some Birthday money to spend but haven’t been able to make a decision on which set to go for! Your swatches look brilliant though and I think it has finally made my mind up to go for this set while Jackson’s have it on special offer. Can I ask what size your brush is please as that looks good too! Thanks x
Thanks Nicola! It's an Escoda Reserva size 8 travel brush. Reserva is not generous in size, so a size 10 might be better for general use. There are links in my description. Happy painting! 😊
Not only was this lovely to watch but your choice of background music was so relaxing! I’ll be watching this again for sure! May I please ask what brush you are using? New subscriber! Take care
Hi Jeanette! It's an Escoda Reserva travel brush. If you are considering, maybe check out their sable synthetic range for more reliable performance. Happy painting!
I now added links to the travel brush set I use. The original link is still there, it's to the same series (same hair) but in a wooden handle and therefore people can purchase indivudally. The travel brushes I use are only available in sets. Thanks for using my link.
Thanks! 🤗 This is discontinued paper and I couldn't find the link when I uploaded. In all videos after this one, I use the more current Heritage line for swatching and links are in descriptions. Eg - my latest Schmincke Ultimate Palette Video - Hertiage performance is even better ua-cam.com/video/LVG-TPO8Sr4/v-deo.html
This particular paper was discontinued a few years ago but in my most Schmincke Horadam Ukraine video I use Heritage for swatching and Arches for painting.
If sticky while opening then I find freezing them for 10 minutes will give a clean release from the paper. If sticky while in use, I can only say: so far I've been lucky and got just one that is slightly sticky. This is always the worry for a honey based products. Maybe try and exchange for a different batch. Best of luck 🤗
Thank you for not only beautifully swatching the colours but also suggesting possible mixes. I really appreciated your insights and look forward to watching more!
Thanks! I'm really happy to share the nicer mixes I found work the best. Have fun experimenting! 🤗❤
