FILM DESCRIPTION:
Single mother Susan Carpenter works as a waitress alongside her feisty family friend Sheila. Taking care of everyone and everything in his own way is Susan's older son Henry. He was only 13 here. Also, Jacob Tremblay with those screams of terror! Also amazing and just getting warmed up at this point of his career. He surpassed this with his death scene in Doctor Sleep which I consider to be the best acting I've ever seen from anyone, at any age. Today's child actors are incredible. Their talent puts those from my generation (millenial) to shame and they all seem to be very nice people on top of it.

Jacob has the best screams in cinema. He can even increase the pitch up to whistle register (he does this in the Death and Life of John F Donovan) or bring them down to a lower groan (he goes up and down as his character is killed in Doctor Sleep). His talent is out of this world. Not to take away from Jaeden who is incredible in this film and an all-time great himself, but Jacob is the best child actor ever. This film has a messy screenplay and the two of them deserved better as costars. I hope they do more films together in the future.

I felt bad for Henry through the entire movie, I mean, being a genius and having no one to talk to, that's a pretty lonely life. Plus having a mother and little brother to take care of, I got the feeling that poor kid was asphyxiating in that kind of environment. He never got to enjoy life or to reach his full potential, that's pretty sad. He gave a lot of himself and he never got anything in return. The movie was supposed to be about Henry, not the mom or the neighbor, and yet they managed to take that away from him too. As soon as they killed Henry the movie was over for me. I am infuriated on his behalf, sad too. I demand a remake.

I first heard about this movie and wanted to see it because I loved Maddie Ziegler, but now I am back- not because of her- but because of Jacob. His acting is so amazing it’s scary, every time.

Honestly this movie was close to perfection. Like the acting from CHILDREN was incredible. The only flaw in the whole movie was that they chose to end it with Maddie dancing just because thats her whole thing. Like it didnt make sense, esspecially that the adults realized she was being assaulted solely because of her dance. Like it was great until the very end when it just stopped making sense.
