How many different velocity samples on the snares? When all velocity does is change loudness, or level, and not sample tone, then my roll heavy music gets to robotic.
The positional zoning was done in early 2000's. It was called Larry Seyer Acoustic Drums. It was for Giga Studio 3. I loved how detailed it was. He wanted to revive them recently but he never did. I think you would appreciate the detail that went into it. There's some videos on UA-cam of him demoing it.
Great video, Ryan. Your obsession and dedication resulting in a product miles above all others in terms of quality and awesomeness reminds me of the story of Kazunori "Kaz" Yamauchi, the creator of Gran Turismo. Story goes that he LIVED at his office for five straight years perfecting the game physics and graphics code, only going home like 5 times, resulting in a product in a class of its own.. Nice job!
Thank you! Oh wow, I love that story! I'll have to look it up. It's funny cause I was watching a lot of youtube docs on 90s videogames when I made this whole video! Kind of the inspiration for the format
I bought RDD several months ago. It's become my goto(only) plugin drum kit...!...I simply love it...!...All the time and, seemingly, endless work you put in to it's creation is so evident...!...Thanks Ryan for making this amazing plugin...! For anyone here that doesn't yet own RDD...you're really missing out...!...REALLY...!!!
This just came into my recommendations, and DAMN those drum sounds would rival that of SSD, GGD, SD! And it's really great to see you obsess over even the most minute details such as a snare drum ring. It goes to show how passionate you with this, and it's honestly great that you didn't go for like the 3D high quality look because it's unique, and it stands out quite a bit. What if you can have like a 1-kit, barebones version of your library as a demo and costs less for the whole thing? Like maybe just a 4 piece kit with 2 crashes, a ride, a hi-hat, and a china, then the character knob is hard locked at full mixed or full unmixed (for those of us who wants to cook lol) Regardless, absolutely amazing work you've done here! Cheers from the Philippines!
Thanks a lot! I think that's a great idea. I've been wanting to do that for a long time but even stripping it down is a lot of work and I haven't quite gotten to it yet. But the next product will definitely come in at a lower price point for sure!
Hi Ryan, I bought RDD several months back and I love it. I am not a drummer so it would be really useful to have more Grooves and Fills in the library. Have you any future plans to do this?
Thanks! Yes, it's definitely on the agenda. I have some drummers in mind that I want to work with to write grooves. But as you know, I like to take it up a notch... so I'm not going to rush it. What genre or style of music do you mostly work in? I want to make the grooves really on point for the folks that need them.
5:13 question: were you basing this judgement off other people’s mixes or the actual samples themselves? Because if it was either, then you probably ought to try them in your mixes before making an assertion like that. Obviously you don’t name any names here, but software like the GGD stuff or Superior Drummer are very easy to screw up if you don’t know what you’re doing, but if you do, you can get some incredible results for any kind of mix. As such, I’d hardly call this a fair judgement, unless you just didn’t like the samples and couldn’t really think of why.
GGD Modern and Massive is the GOAT IMO. If you know how to mix and like mixing drum samples, buy it! SD3 is an incredible product, but the base library is not my style in terms of tones or workflow. I own both products. Thanks for your question! -Ryan
i skimmed through the vid and saw a lot of noise lol. nice plugin but you didnt fix plugin drums... i have a ton of amazing sounding stuff. Dam i got baited so hard by your titled man.... im sad. gl with your company
Big disagreed here - paid full price for this plugin and it's way better than anything else in my toolkit 🤷♂️ I've used so many drum plugins and this one is just in a league of it's own
Love the backstory and passion!
Thanks so much!

It's good to see Alan Wake doing things other than writing books!
heading over to your website to buy this now. gotta support that story! thanks for your dedication and passion
Yes! My pleasure!
So cool to know a little history on one of my favorite snare drums!
Nice! Thanks for watching!
I'm proud to be part of your RDD Family ! You're rocks man !
Thank you! Glad to have you on the team!

This is amazing and inspiring and I love dogs. What a great story!
Aww thanks so much! And dogs are absolutely the best!
What is the band name (and name of the song if you know it) for the basement punk show at 17:20 ?
Trash Rabbit! I think they're from Boston. Song is "Lab Jazz" I think? ua-cam.com/video/b7az7Ygtvpc/v-deo.htmlsi=U8wWT_B9BDNkoVcs
@@RobotDogStudio Thanks so much!!
Great story! Subscribed. Will check out the kit soon
Awesome, thank you!
Purchased yesterday! Can't tell you how excited I got about the china cymbal samples haha!
YES!! That's what it's all about! Thank you my friend!
too broke for an ekit (and too broke for the library itself, lol) but this is absolutely on my wishlist now. wonderful storytelling btw!
Aw thanks so much! Keep an eye out for a used kit, that's what I did!
I would love to see a "sampler" pack available for Decent Sampler. I don't use Kontakt.
Maybe I could make a smaller pack available for other platforms. That is definitely a good idea... but it does run on the free Kontakt Player FYI 😊
Amazing Story!
Thanks!

Couldn't have done it without you and Robot by my side ❤️
It’s awesome to see how it all came together and it was well worth the wait for the finished product!
Now how about Robot Dog…Vocal Suite? 👀👀👀
Thanks! Hmmm I'd love that! So far I only know how to code booms and baps tho hahaha
Great story!!
Thank you!!

I NEED THIS 🧡
And YES they work beautifully with edrums. Easiest plugin to work with edrums, period. Yes, easier than toontrack.
❤️❤️❤️

drums sound awful
you cant even compare this to ezdrummer 1 in battery lol @@jasonjayalap
yeah, so what drum vst is better than this one, with realistic sounds, great interface and big variety of drums samples?
