    I love Dewalt, but honestly my kobalt one handed Sawzall, is the best I've ever owned

    I went to Lowe's and I took the compact in my hand. It doesn't weight anything is So lighter , I can't believe it could do heavy work. If so then it is the best Sawsall of all brand.

      I was amazed at the power of the compact saw since I was skeptical at first as well.

      Oh yeah…the compact has power. Vibrates a lot…you wouldn’t want to be using it all day, but it can (at a push) prune a six inch thick tree branch or (with the right blade) cut through a 3/8 steel plate. It can reach into a kitchen cabinet to cut a hole in the back or sever tree roots from a stump. On mine the shoe is stiff, nothing that can’t be eased up tho’.

    The Atomic line is also brushless, and it will not say "XR" on the side.

    I like desalt but the way it’s put out there it’s confusing which battery goes with what, except the bigger tools like the 7/14 skill saw or the nailer.

      Scott, yes it’s confusing at first.
      A 20 volt tool can use 20 volt battery or flex kit battery. Flex kit advantage tool is the same 20 volt or flexvolt battery.
      The flexvolt tool (without the word advantage) are only flexvolt batteries.

    2 questions.
    Q1. Which one will last longer overall in terms of build quality and operation?
    Q2. Is vibration significantly less on the Flexvolt Advantage model?

    • @TwistedToolbox
      @TwistedToolbox  2 роки тому +1

      Acid,
      1-For build quality and operation with them both being brushless in the XR line they are equally built so longevity will come down to how well the tool is taken care of (stored out of the weather, not used in dirt/water/mud).
      2- I don’t have an issue with vibration on either one. I use the compact model model with one hand more often which gives less stability and it’s still not hard to control. With a 60v flexvolt battery in the flexvolt advantage model it has more power which definitely requires 2 hands to control it.
      3- I would choose the tool based on which shape you prefer (compact or long traditional shape).

      @@TwistedToolbox Thanks for the heads up. My compact version arrived today and I have no regrets after using it today on some crates. Vibration on it is manageable for me but I also don't have any RSI's in my hands or arms so I have no complaints. I might feel differently 20 years from now if I'm still around and if the tool still works but till then I'll have fun using it on projects I need it for.

    The compact version vibrates terribly.But it is half the weight of the full size version and still has 1 1/8” stroke length which makes a big difference in cutting.

    So the xr can work with the flex volt battery’s?
    Without messing up?

    • @FirstLastOne
      @FirstLastOne Рік тому

      Yes, the DCS367B compact saw can work with the FlexVolt batteries and the DCS368B FlexVolt saw can work with both the FlexVolt batteries and the regular 20V XR batteries. The FlexVolt batteries have internal controls that sense which battery contact pins are used depending on the tool they are plugged into.
      The reason there's a lot of confusion with this is mainly due to peoples' ignorance in series and parallel battery circuits. It's not rocket science but if someone thinks they know it all and don't actually have a clue, they'll spread incorrect information and as they say, "a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing".

      @FirstLastOne, thanks for answering these comments. I'm playing catch up on the comments since the notifications were turned off and I didn't realize this channel had a backlog of comments of the past year.

    I have a compact XR and unfortunately it stopped working after less than a month and I rarely used it, it seems to be a problem with the on and off switch.

      If you bought it brand new and not off the second hand market, it should be under warranty to get it replaced.

    Is the xr ok for cutting stainless steel tubing?

    • @FirstLastOne
      @FirstLastOne Рік тому +1

      That would depend on the blade you use, not the tool.

    Your explanation of the flexvolt advantage is confusing for ppl that dont know. Any tool dewalt 20v or 60v will work with a flexvolt battery. Just the 60v tools require the flexvolt battery. The tool is not a hybrid jus the flexvolt batteries are. The flexvolt battery produces 20v for 20v tools by being wired in parallel like all their batteries. The flexvolt battery tho will switch to being wired in series to produce 60v. It does those through a mechanical tab on the battery that gets depressed and an electrical connector as well when the battery is slid into the 60v tool. Flexvolt advantage is dewalt claim that that specific tool will give the absolute most power with a flexvolt battery and power detect is the same thing except the claim is that tool will give the absolute most power with the 6ah 20v only battery dcb206, 20v only 8ah dcb208, and 20v only 10ah dcb210. A flexvolt battery will work on the compact saw as well
    Edit: im sry you know the flexvolt will power any tool but the flexvolt advantage tool still operates at 20v. Also for ppl that dont know a flexvolt battery like the 9ah is a 9ah at 20v but a 3ah at 60v.

    Calling every Reciprocating saw a Sawzall is like calling all cars Ford. Start a trend in the US, call it by its functional name…A Recip saw.

    Always remove the battery to change the blade.
