    I just ordered the minipeak xl pro. Have the minipeak, octopeak, summer inner and bathtub floor. Love the luxe outdoors products.

      Agreed! They make excellent products. If the door were taller on the octopeak it would make that tent 10x better than it is. It is a great tent, but I hate that door lol.

    Saw a dude who added his own removeable snow skirts, his set up was far nicer than the company made one.

    I need to put some miles on my Minipeak XL. Cutting down on drafts with the skirts on the pro probably helps eliminate the need to carry the extra weight on the winter inner I have. So.....outer is heavier but dropping the inner would be cool.

    • @ItsGoodintheWoods
      @ItsGoodintheWoods  6 місяців тому

      You can run the MPXL in the winter without the inner. I have done it a bunch of times. All you need is a ground sheet where you sleep. I Prefer it actually. But the skirts will absolutely raise the comfort level. I will probably use the inner above tree line though.

    • @MeetMeOutside
      @MeetMeOutside 6 місяців тому +1

      I find the single bathtub floor footprint to work out great. I don’t use the inner. Using a stove , it works out great. The MPXL will now be a fair weather shelter, ands my MPXL Pro with the skirts will be for winter. Just fantastic shelters ! Cheers !

    How is the sylicon caulk sealant holding up? I'm very much considering buying this tent but I worry that the PU coating (since the tent istnt sylcoated) wont work with the sylicon caulk for seam sealing. Thanks in advance !

    • @ItsGoodintheWoods
      @ItsGoodintheWoods  25 днів тому

      The silicone caulk method has worked great. I sealed this tent years ago, and it is still keeping the rain out.

    The snow skirts will cut down on drafts, but will also minimize ventilation and increase condensation. Low vents, which can be adjusted to control ventilation, would be a welcome upgrade. They would have to be high enough to minimize the ingress of spindrift, though, decreasing their effectiveness. A wood stove would minimize condensation issues in the worst conditions, but, without one, it is likely to be more persistent with the snow flaps permanently sewn in. Maybe a zip off option??🤔

    • @ItsGoodintheWoods
      @ItsGoodintheWoods  6 місяців тому

      I tend to agree. I never really needed snowskirts. But they are nice to have. The snow skirts have tie outs, so you can roll them up out of the way. Or open them up where you may want some air to come through. You can also adjust airflow with one of the doors. I think there are plenty of options to keep the airflow going.

    I don't understand....2 years ago you've said that you are done with Luxe tent....no more promotion....Should I considered buying or not a tent from this company ?

    • @ItsGoodintheWoods

      I said I was done with Luxe hiking gear. They were the North American distributors for Luxe Outdoors. Luxe hiking Gear has since been terminated for sketchy business practices. . I made a video about it. North America now has a new distributor, Three Ridges Gear, and they are great! I have no problem at all recommending Three Ridges Gear Co. Jim is doing a great job.

    Do they have a loop on top so i could pitch it with a guy line instead of a pole if I want?

    • @ItsGoodintheWoods
      @ItsGoodintheWoods  6 місяців тому +1

      An excellent question! Yes they do! Although I have yet to do it, so I can't vouch for the durability of the loop. I am going to have to give that a go. Thanks for bringing that up.
