  • ZOE is ancient Greek and translates to "conscious and meaningful life and experience."
    The seeds for the ZOE restaurant concept were sown last year. New encounters, unconventional approaches, creative thoughts, and foreign experiences served as the fertile soil and life-giving water. Over time, a small tree named ZOE grew, enchanting daily with newly blossoming buds full of ideas and visions. The first blooms are emerging, heightening anticipation for what the ZOE restaurant plans to achieve in the coming years.
    With great curiosity, the ZOE team seeks the finest products and, guided by their extensive gastronomic experience, explores new culinary worlds. Their vision of meaningful gastronomy for all is rooted in social and ecological sustainability. Consequently, the focus is on vegetables to create an unparalleled taste experience, as meat and fish are consciously omitted.
    In a trusting collaboration with Zurich food blogger Sarah Blattner @zueriplausch, Soil to Soul nationally introduces restaurants that excel in mindful soil-conscious production and preparation.
    Sarah Blattner takes us on a visit to Bern, where, in conversation with Fabian Raffeiner (Chef, Managing Director) and Mark Hayoz (Host, Managing Director), she learns more about their philosophy, cuisine, producers, and daily challenges.
