I know it's a Late comment but I feel you man, my situation is quite similar, born in 03 and moved out in 2021. Life does suck right now but we're getting through it.

Keep your head up. It's great that your parents will welcome you back home. There are millions of people in your same situation cause everything is so expensive compared to previous generations. Some need 2-3 jobs and a few roommates just to pay rent and other bills. Best advice is to never bottle anything up. Always talk about what's stressing you out with family and friends and never feel shame if you need to ask for help

I don't personally feel like there is a certain age that anyone should "except" their kids to move out but I do agree with having your kids start paying rent once they reach a certain age, 18 is classed as an adult here in Australia so that's a good age. It's not because we as parents want money from our kids but it is instead about teaching our kids about what it's like to have responsibility and teach them to make sure that they are used to paying for at least rent because if not when the time comes for your child to move out it will be an even bigger culture shock for them. As parents it our job to teach our kids as much as we can about everything we know to help them survive life after leaving home. At the same time as a father of a 19 year old son and 9 year old daughter I'm in no rush for my son to move out on his own, it's hard out there and I want him to be as set up as possible before he moves out. He has a pretty good job that he really enjoys which I am very happy about because he will likely stay in the trade forever but more importantly he is forming extremely important habits, a good work ethic which will always serve him well no matter what happens in his life he will always be able to make money and survive because he is used to going to work every day which in our modern society is very important and I sleep better at night knowing that my son will be ok not what happens and of course ill always be there for him no matter what and if he wanted/needed to come back home for any reason we would welcome him into our home always because he is our son my boy how I love with all my heart and I could never turn him away but he would have to get a job and pay rent. Anyway I have never seen your videos before and as a 43 year old man who has had an extremely colourful life I can tell you with confidence that as long as you don't give up on yourself you will be fine, we all go through times when things seem fucked but the sun comes up the next day and life goes on, so just stick to your morales and be true to yourself whatever that is (which can be hard to know at your age) just be good to the people in your life and let the people you love know how you feel often, life is short and in the end we only have each other and most of the time the only people we can truly rely on to be there for us no matter what are our families and maybe 1 or 2 friends if you are lucky. Just keep being you and do what feels right in your heart and that's all any of us can do,while being honest with the people in our lives and especially ourselves. Take care mate and good luck for the future I'm sure you will have a great life.
