I've been trimming my moustache every few weeks and not sure if I could really pull off an epic moustache, but after checking out your videos it gave me a boost of confidence to try! Just ordered wildwood beard oil, beard pocket comb, moustache wax, and moustache comb! Epic beard sir! Thanks for the videos
Got an epic mustache similar to yours. I keep my beard length at about an inch and a half to two inches so it really stands out. You're right about it driving you nuts until it's tamed and under control. I've had mine for about 6 months now and will never go back to short. Love the look, feel, challenge, all of it. It gets a lot of good responses from folks too. Love the channel, keep up the good work for all us beard growers and mustache men out here in cyber land.
You're expecting too much, too soon. I found that I really turned a corner at the 7 minute mark. I suggest you start again and exercise a bit more patience.
You'll need a toothpick and a small piece of tape for your mustache. You'll should also try to get one of those old style pocket watches on a chain, since those look great with your future mustache. Just open up your watch glass, wedge the toothpick just under the minute hand, and tape it down for about 5 months and 2 days. Try not to forget or you'll have mustache all over the place.
Pinetop here (from FB). Thanks for the new video! Apparently I'm growing an Epic Mustache and I had been refering to it as a handlebar. Thanks for clearing that up. Epic sounds much better. Anyways thanks for the tips! I've been trimming it up on my upper lip like you stated because it was driving me a bit crazy. But actually I had just started letting it grow out. It's starting to do it's thing, so off we go. I'm about at my 4 month mark and loving it! I love that it's starting to get peoples attention. Thanks again John!
Hey Pinetop, it's a common thing to call it a handlebar but it's really only a technicality that you'd run into in the competition circuit. It's great though as you're realizing the bigger it gets the better!
Thanks for the inspiration!!! Im new to your channel and growing my beard/mustache. Im about a month and a half in growing facial hair and I get comments that I look old or whatever. I will definitely keep your words of encouragement in mind! keep up the good work, and nice beard, man!
The "it makes you look old(er)" comments aggravate me. Don't hear them often but when I do my go to response is "well if you don't like it, don't look at it" seems to shut everyone up pretty fast. May have a lil to do with im 6 ft tall 220 pounds and covered with tattoos lol
I'm working on growing my beard right now. first time ever in my 37yrs on this planet. its been about 2 months and so far so good on my cheeks and chin but boy you aren't kidding about the mustache growing at much different rate, mine is super slow. I also have two slight bald spots on each sides of my lips so I have to wait for my mustache to get longer to actually connect to the rest of the beard... the other thing is my hair is a light color so from a distance my mustache looks very thin but up close you can see a lot of hair, I'm just now getting to the point that the hair is breaking over the top part of my lip. maybe one day I'll have a nice beard like yours! thanks for all the tips. I sent you a photo of what I'm working with by the way
John is not kidding about the mustache wax and how it works to manage a larger mustache. I am not at the point of the epic stache yet (6 months of growth or so, but I trimmed a couple of times before I decided to go big). I just recently purchased the wildwood wax from the Beard Baron and its making things much more tolerable for me. One of my favorite responses to a gentleman being questioned condescendingly about why he is growing a large beard was simply "Beard equals man." I think about that comment often when looking for the strength to push forward.
Great advice again, thanks beard baron. One month in to growing my 'tache and you're right...I am already getting loads of comments, mainly positive,a few negative...a few just plain odd. My wife is coming round to the idea I think and as I said to her, "judge it when it is finished....I don't judge your hair cuts/dying/styling half way through....I comment when it's finished...so please do me the same courtesy!! Thanks again,Tim
tim garner Good approach Tim! And you've got the wisdom right as a mustache should never be judged while growing out. Great to hear your wife is on board, that's half the battle!
great vids, I'm pumped to be able to start growing my facial hair back as I no longer have to head out to work sites with H2S gas (have to be clean shaven so your respirator seals on your face in case of a gas leak). The mustache has always been the most irritating part. I'm 2 months into growing and appreciate the info and inspiration to power through and practice "when in doubt grow it out".
I had a lot of trouble growing my stache initially. What really helped me was when I finally trained most of it to grow to the sides. I don't like the feeling of wax, but oil and balm helps to train it.
I started using beard oil after watching your video on beard oil. Had I had this in high school, I would probably have stopped shaving at that point in my life. This stuff is amazing. And know with a better understanding of mustache wax, I can't thank you enough for making these videos. Also, it looks like you got a new layout on the website. Looks really nice.
I love how you are in a different place every time I watch a video. Also great tips, some I learned over the years with just a nice tight beard but these videos have helped with my failed attempts at a large beard. Thanks.
Great advice Baron. First time growing one and it's pretty hard, but it's getting better and better. There is coverage where there was none, specifically close to the nostrils it's starting to get coverage. Will probably take a year total to get a mustache like yours, it's been 5 months now.
A lot of people can grow a decent beard within 1-2 months, but a decent mustache could take 6 to 12 months. So even though progress is of course individual and varies with each person, mustaches really does appear to grow much slower on average than beards.
I have an epic moustache and I think that you never get 100% used to the hairs around and in your mouth. But it does get better. Only last night when I was flossing, one hair got tangled with the dental floss and ended up getting stuck between my teeth. I got it out unharmed, but that was a first! If you want something like this, you can say goodbye to drinking from a glass or a cup, stock up on straws! I actually carry one around with me just in case. And eating some foods like ice cream, chips and dip, or any other messy foods is definitely a challenge. So stock up on napkins too! As soon as I'm done eating, whether at home or a restaurant, it's off to the rest room to wash up and dry.
Four months into my first yeard and I'm finally starting to love the stache! Definitely gotta comb it and wax it, but it's really looking good! Thanks for all the great vids!
Best Beard/Moustache advice ever. The first time I grew out an epic (8month) moustache, I got a lot of negative comment and a lot of positive comments. The positives were very encouraging, "NICE BEARD!" etc, and the negatives weren't all that original and ranged from "you auditioning for Duck Dynasty?" to my sister laughing out loud while we were having a semi-serious conversation, "I CANT EVEN WATCH YOU WHEN YOU TALK!!!" Presently, the job I have requires that my moustache not be "epic" and so I trim it to slightly less than epic status. First time I grew one out it drove me crazy... Next time I grew it out I barely noticed. Gonna need to see a video on "How To Make-Out Whilst Having An Epic Mustache". :)
Jonathan Grandt The first epic mustache is always tough but like you said the second time around you hardly notice. I'm at the point where I forget that I even have a mustache!
Yes! Please make a video about dealing with the mustache and eating. I've decided to let my mustache grow out and the worst part is eating or just feeling like I have hair in my mouth. Sometimes I actually do get hair in my mouth lol.
bro you reached down and touched my soul, I'm in the phase where it's starting to hit my lip and it's awkward as fuck. thanks for the motivation gonna keep the beard going strong.
Love your videos, it really shows that you are invested in the world of the beardz and are eager to share your experience! I'm on my 3rd month of my first try to grow and have only got positive feedback which feels great.
So cool I've been wanting for years to grow a handle bar mustache but I never had the patients after the 1st bad trim I'd give up going to finally see this through so glad I found you thanks.
The main thing I took from this is that in order to avoid chewing on my 'stache I need to use wax, not steel. When that clicked into place, a whole lot about why I don't quite have the mustache I want clicked into place right behind it. So thanks!
This is not my first time growing a handlebar mustache (my beard doesn't connect and is pretty thin so i shave it) the only tip i have ever gotten before was from the internet and it said to not trim my mustache. this is my third time growing a dedicated handlebar and i can see how this is the most important thing. but having a knowledgeable bearded man encouraging me to keep going really helps. I've only had it for 2 months but I'm already getting lots of compliments on it because i wax it and comb it. thank you for your encouragement it really helps cuz i know the very itchy period is coming.... and I've set my goal for christmas this year!
Bro I always rock a beard and growing mine out again. My mustache grows a lot and I have never let it grow to it’s potential and it’s not stopping lol. My mouth will soon be covered in a couple months. Your beard bro is awesome and I’m glad I came across your channel. Great beard bro👍🏿
Just wanted to say you have an AMAZING beard!! There's a lot of people out there that don't appreciate a good beard and an epic mustache... Just wanted to say thanks for all your videos and for the confidence boost because there's too much negativity about beards out there.. Been growing my now for about three months still got a ways to go but looking good it's coming together:) thanks again man and I really mean that from my soul brother!!
Great video. I've been growing mine for 5 months, but the struggle I have is that there is no real line between the outside edges of my mustache and my beard. Makes styling it a challenge. Considered lowering my beard line a little to make the mustache more distinct, because it's sort of a mess right now.
Absolutely perfect video on describing everything and what you're going to experience. I'm 10+ months into my beard and mustache, only thing is, I hate the feeling of wax in it. I tried using some other things like water based pomades, but I just don't like anything in there haha
Sir, you are the baron indeed! A lot of good advice, I've shaved recently, so looking forward to trying out your method and seeing the results in half a year :D
Always look forward to your videos. I'm now at 9 months of beard growth, and I've been letting the stache go for about 5. It did drive me absolutely insane!!! Now that it's getting longer it's a little more manageable. The growing out part took a lot of patience for sure. I have a super wavy beard and stache. I tried the wax just like you did on your previous video, but mine didn't come out that great. I still use your combing technique for the stache though, and I put some oil in it, and it looks fine. It'd be cool if we had a place where we could upload pictures of our progress. I've been watching you since your first video, and you'd be so proud of how far I've come. Thanks for all that you've done for us new beard growers.
Hey Jason, great to hear you're taking your beard to a whole new level! I agree, the first time really growing out the mustache is brutal. As time goes on it gets easier and you become more accustomed to it. I forget what it's like to not have a mustache this big!
The best part about my beard and mustache is, it makes you think about eating the proper type of food. I noticed the more man made the food is, the more it gets in the mustache. It's almost like a learning tool for your brain to detect what food is healthy. I eat mostly a carnivore diet and I reolize that animal fats dont make my face itch, but plant oils make my face itch. I can eat a steak and have fat all over my hands after rinsing my plate, and I actually use that oil to spread into my beard 😅. I know the people in older times use to make lye soap which had animal fats in it.
Beard Baron I love your vids man, im 19 so my beard is not strong and complete, but I love growing it. I know that shaving it with a razor or whatever does not make it stronger and fuller, but I see tiny blonde hairs on my beard and I was wondering if shaving those would make them eventually black and strong, would love to get a reply.. Thanks
khaled kh There's a good chance that those blonde hairs are new and will develop over time into darker thicker hairs. Shaving won't help those develop but time will.
Oh I am so relieved.. Gotta tell you I can't wait for my full beard to fill in so I can directly order stuff from your website ;) best of luck to you and your channel man.
Almost two months into my first attempt at an epic 'stache. Everything said about the first time being a struggle is accurate and I'm just trying to enjoy the adventure!1
dear beard baron, im mexican american my genetics kinda gave me a cantinflas mustache, i have a hard time growing out the middle i love and envy the way a lot of other beards look with the full bulk of hair directly underneath their nose; mine just kinda splits there a good half inch of thin hair area but the outer ends are growing fast my hairs are kinda coarse so idk what brand of mustache wax to go with to kinda tame those long thick whiskers with but thanks for the inspiration i will not trim till im satisfied.
thanks! im currently growing it out again, this time i wont have to shave due to my job; i work in the garage now so i wont be around customers so much thats the only reason i had to shave.
I recently started growing a mustache about three months ago. I have a little bit of a natural curl. In that time, I did trim the hairs at my lip line cause I hated the way it felt and it made eating and drinking a new chore. After watching this, however, I feel like I ought to just let it happen as irritating as it might be at first. I already have a long goatee but I am letting the rest of my beard catch up. I am excited to get your wax and recommended combs in the mail so it will make growing easier. I think the one thing that I don't like the most about my mustache is the hairs that are growing between my beard and mustache at the corners of my mouth because they ARE mustache hairs but they are sort of rogue right now on their own waiting for the actual mustache to catch up. I'm tempted to but them but in the meantime, I recently (before being recommended to your videos and website) came across some decent pomade that I use just on the ends and a bit throughout just to help get those hairs out of my mouth haha.
Great stuff! Thanks for for all the guidance. I've got heavy chin whiskers and a fairly decent mustache (just below the top lip and about 2" out from the corners of my mouth) but zip on the sides so any advice on promoting beard growth is appreciated.
Working to grow my first epic mustache. I am 3 months in. Eating and drinking is starting to get difficult. Could you do a video on eating/drinking and etc. with a epic mustache soon? Thank you for the UA-cam channel and products!
I also started to grow my stache later on after growing the rest of the beard. I have the long sides, but the area above my lips I ended up breaking down and trimming it a month ago. I'm giving it another go, this time with some of your wax. I can't wait for your video on eating with that epic stache. I'm in def need of tips for that. The current girl that I'm into LOVES my beard... (+100 pts right there), but I'm not sure her reaction when I grow that epic stache haha. Wish me luck.
Well you definitely have the right idea! Just sticking to your guns and not trimming the middle part is the key. Having a supportive girlfriend really helps as well! Best of luck!
hey man this is very good to see that someone else has the same ideas as me. I am a year no trim and its the only way to achieve a decent moustache. I have a plan to get my own video on the same theme, plus lots others of course
The Beard Baron do you trim away the hair between your moustache and beard? my beard start pretty low on my cheecks so now i have e small line of hair next to my lips (like a ring beard) and those hair go wild when i wax my stache i was thinking of triming the hairs on the side of my lips to seperate the stache and beard what do you think?
When would you say is a good time to start using wax? My 'beard' is aroun 5 weeks old now. My strongest asset is by far my moustache, closesly followed by my under neck and along the jaw line. My moustache is a little wild atm, i currently use an all natural styling product to help tame the strays out to the side, and a little bit of 'dax' on the very end to get a bit of a point as it seems a shame not to take advantage of the tache as my facial hair currently stands! Thanks!!
Thank you for the advice, I've been getting some negative comments but you've encouraged me to ignore them and keep growing! Thank you Sir for all you do!
Thanks for making your videos! I'm a first time beard grower here. Lol. I've been shaving since my facial hair started growing. I have been shave free since the beginning of July and it's really tough to not shave it or trim it. You've got my sub!
i've never had any comments on my moustache nor have i had any negative comments on my facial hair. I think part of that may be the fact i'm 6'4" and 240lbs. I think one of the important things about having a large beard/moustache is wearing it proudly no matter the length/style.
I started mine ('stache only) Dec 1 2014, but it's been trimed a few times by a barber for shaping and evening. Yes, eating certain things, like tacos, pizza, or anything that is normally messy, is even worse. Definitely have to drink with a straw, there's no other way. Epic mustache, I like that description! At one time they were cosidered a normal fashion item, but rare today. I do get comments on it, good and bad. Unfortunately mine is grey now : ( but I can't do amything about that. I guess we're lucky enough to be able to even grow an "Epic" mustache, not every man can. I love looking at pictures from the 19th, early 20th centuries when they were common. Some really great moustaches back then! Oh yeah, the derby looks great on you. Right out of the 19th century! I read a newspaper article about Wyatt Earp from the late 1880s in Colorado where the female reporter talks about his tall, athletic physique and "great droopy moustache." Now THAT is Epic! My wife doesn't understand. I don't have a bowler, but I do wear a cowboy hat (replica of Sam Elliott's in Conagher). And living in nyc I do get some looks, but a lot of compliments too.
You are really touching on a sensitive topic for me: to let the stache grow over your mouth or not. So far I have trimmed the part of my mustache under my nose, but let the rest of the whiskers grow out to the side. The feeling of the hairs growing into my mouth is too agonizing. But perhaps with your mustache wax (which should be arriving soon) I power through until it's long enough. In any case, thanks!
Hey Jens, it's definitely tricky but I found my first time through that I got used to the hairs about 4-6 weeks in. I'm still aware of them but they just bother me that much like they used to!
Awsome video bro..and nice set up to make the video..im using ur oil is very good..im 2 month into my moustache getting great and 3 weeks into mu beard...
Hello again Mr BB, nice video , my stash was gettin over the top lip & I didnt know wot t do with it! & ended up trimming to edge my top lip! left long @ sides which now long n grows down into my beard styles better with wax n looks good, duno how long it el grow? Now I know you have to let stash grow out well over top lip I may give it a go? Got cha wildwood beard oil! fantastic stuff, so thanks n keep up the good beard work :-) Regards MJS
Baron, I have a big question, how I must to comb my moustache if I wanna a walrus ? My middle hair tend to grow from outside in. Do I must comb it to the ouside and when it grows and cover the upper lip to the bottom? Thank you!
ive been growing my beard for about 1.5 months so far after shaving a 3 month beard off for a job. The only problem i have is slight patching on both the left and right side of my face, the hair on my cheek doesn't quite connect to the sides of my mouth, i also have patches on both sides of the soul patch area and the middle of my mustache doesn't grow anywhere near as fast as the rest of it. My mustache goes into my mouth slightly and tickles my nose but the middle directly between my nostrils doesn't grow much
Mark my words you epic bearded friend, I will have an epic mustache and beard, just like you, in due time. I would really like a how to eat and drink video tips n tricks!
This was super helpful thanks for making this! Right now I'm working on growing out my beard and mustache. Just gatta wait for the beard hairs on the front of my chin to get a little thicker and darker. But one thing I'm concerned about is eating Chinese food. Like specifically noodles with sauce on them. I'm worried it would get all up in my beard and stuff. Anyone here have any experience with that?
Sauces (and anything liquid) are your basic enemies of the beard when it comes to eating food. I'll be doing a video soon on eating/drinking with a beard and mustache.
You should toates do a video on coloration of beard and mustache hair so I actually have some input on the random patches of blonde to light brown and black! thanks love the beard and the videos!
Hello The Beard Baron I really enjoy your videos I am into the first week of growing my mustache and I was wondering do the hairs on your upper lip all grow at a different pace? because I have some hairs at the right end of my upper lip but at the left end of my upper lip I have slim to none any advice?
So I've recently stumbled upon your channel here. Really enjoying the content and I just want to ask you a question about the curling of a mustache. When is the best time to start adding in the curl? would it be once you start applying mustache wax to manage and train the epic mustache or would it be later after the mustache has started to fill in properly? I noticed you've said your mustache isn't grown to have a curl and I'm just curious what the difference is in growing an epic mustache like yours and one that curls. If I missed this in one of your other videos I'm sorry for asking an already explained answer.
Great video! What do you suggest for a guy like me? My mustache grows in the middle area and the ends just fine, but there is a gap-space on each side. My mustache looks like hair, space, hair, hair, space, hair. Thanks!!
Hey man your videos are awesome I'm growing my beard and moustache out together for the first time, My profile photo is my beard at 6 weeks, Now I'm never touching my moustache I usually trim the top mid section and leave the rest but its nice to know its best to just let it all go and train it thanks.
great vid. im almost four months into not touching my moustache and its getting really big. tried last year trimmed a lot an failed. key is definitely to just let it rock.
When would be the best time to start using moustache wax ? I'm in my second month of growth (stache and beard) and some hairs of my stache are growing in all directions :-)
Cleared both lips and couldn't take it any more. I could not tame the middle portion of my mustache. Trimmed just enough off the middle "toothbrush" region, and it is infinitely more manageable. This took some courage because I thought I might ruin my mustache completely, but it looks good. I'm still getting a nice handlebar effect by letting the rest continue to grow. Haven't quite tamed the epic moustache, but it's just another chapter in my epic beard odyssey.
My problem lies in the fact that I have very thin growth in the gap below my nose, and the whiskers are more blonde which makes them less apparent. The hairs towards the edge of my lip I have grown over 2 inches before and I can curl them out to the side nicely, but I still want the full lip coverage without a distinct gap in the middle; its like my mustache wants to be epic everywhere but the middle :P ... it really bugs me, I want to look in the mirror and see nothing but epicness from the nose down but nope just don't have the coverage in the middle of the stache
I'm 22 so my beard hasn't filled in completely yet (especially between my lips and my chin, and I have no connectors whatsoever) but my mustache is fierce. It's practically begging to grow out into an "epic stache." Would it be unwise to stop trimming it since my beard isn't full yet? I fear that it might look kind of awkward.
+The Beard Baron. i have a dense mustache and have been growing it for i think about 2 months. it covered my upper lip except for the middle part and it started touching my lower lip. is it ever going to cover the middle part? and how long is usually the terminal length of the mustache, i mean, is there a chance that my mustache wont cover both lips?
Please please do the video on eating and dealing with getting hair in your mouth. I'm dealing with that right no and it is freaking annoying. Maybe mustache wax is the answer but sometimes i am to lazy to put it on and I just go straight to eating. Thanks for your videos!
A question. The brand of mustache wax, 'Clubmans', i use, tends to leave white flecks when i comb it. The actual wax is a kind of white paste and I gather it is clumping up as i comb through. I will have to try one of your waxes, as well as get a comb designed for facial hair. Is there anything you suggest i do in the meantime?
My first mustache wax was clubmans, and compared to the Baron's, clubmans sucks. Get the kent comb he provides as well. His products are high quality and wont be clumpy and messy as long as you follow his how to wax your mustache vid.
Konrad I've tried many many different waxes! Clubman is overrated. I found firehouse mustache wax to be my fav. Nice firm hold but not to firm so won't damage moustache. Only time I use club mans is because it's easy to find everywhere.
+trenton king Much appreciated. I picked up the Barons product and its the stuff! It actually looks like genuine wax. I guess its just a property of wax that it forms clumps if isnt properly melted. I consider Clubmans moustache paste now that ive seen what real wax is. Im in Aus so ill have to find something more readily available down here when on a tight budget. Ill have to keep an eye out for firehouse.
I'm about 6.5 months into my mustache, with very minor trimming. I've noticed the center of your mustache goes pretty much straight down, and isn't swept to the sides, even at the ends of the follicles. Do you trim the middle portion to maintain this "straight" look, and then sweep everything else to the sides? Great videos by the way, they have helped immensely.
Hi Beard Baron, I have less then a months growth on my door knocker but come spring I'll normally will keep just the Mustache and maybe a soul patch. Never let the stache grow out too long but thinking I like to try for an epic stache. Thanks for your tips, here goes nothing, check back later..............Anton
Geovanny Casco Well, my recent profile pic shows what I've been able to grow along with a fair amount of trimming , as you can probably see, nothing close to epic proportions as I would have hoped. Maybe when I retire I'll let it grow out?
i recently gave in on my mustache journey and trimmed it out of my mouth cause it was causing issues while eating.. i left the sides long and it looks better at the moment and is easier but i wanna try and push through that awkward phase this time and get to that big mustache.. im only 19 though and my stache isnt that "big" hahaha
How do you train your moustache to "curl" into a handlebar and I only want the stache so do I shave the rest of my facial hair while growing it out? If so at what point do I stop shaving going towards my stache?
Greetings , Thank you for the trimming tips. I was doing a few things wrong prior to watching the video. Now patiently waiting for it to grow back....next time will use your suggestions. ....when it grows back :(
I've been growing my beard and mustache for just over four months, and I have a decent beard but my mustache and just under my lower lip are lacking good growth are there any products besides biotin that can help increase growth? Also what are your thoughts on minoxidil for beard growing?
Minoxidil isn't meant for the face and can cause complications so I wouldn't personally recommend it. Time is the best bet for filling in areas. Some areas grow much slower than others, especially under the lower lip.
Hi Beard Baron! First time writer. I am a big fan. Thanks for the great information. I am wondering if you deliver to China? As I just recently moved here and am growing out my beard for the first time in a decade. Thanks.
Hey Chris, thanks for your order! I look forward to you getting it! Best of luck on your epic mustache!
Love the outdoor chair.
MrMetuber1 Once you go for an epic mustache there's no going back :) Thanks for watching and enjoy your mustache!
I've been trying to grow my mustache for 6 minutes and 42 seconds and it still hasn't worked
It takes at least a Half an hour. Your patience will be rewarded.
I love how you don't have any splices in your vids. Just straight talk from start to finish. No editing needed. Keep up the great work man
Your beard inspires me to grow my mustache out, and to get past that awkward phase of it coming in contact with the mouth. Keep it up!!
MarksBucket Best of luck with your mustache Mark!
I will definitely keep your words of encouragement in mind! keep up the good work, and nice beard, man!
geebergeistify Glad you found some inspiration! Best of luck with your beard!
I sent you a photo of what I'm working with by the way
Time and patience are the 2 big ingredients as you are currently discovering. It's completely worth it and congrats on your first beard! Enjoy it!
Ryan Leslie Glad you're enjoying everything Ryan and the fact that you get to grow it out!
Thanks.
zulu2132 Thanks for watching and finding the info useful!
I remember deciding to grow out the tash..
Best decision I ever did, couldnt imagine going back to a short tash now!
Same here Gareth, once I did it I never looked back!
It completes the look, a badass tash just compliments a great beard!
The positives were very encouraging, "NICE BEARD!" etc, and the negatives weren't all that original and ranged from "you auditioning for Duck Dynasty?" to my sister laughing out loud while we were having a semi-serious conversation, "I CANT EVEN WATCH YOU WHEN YOU TALK!!!"
Presently, the job I have requires that my moustache not be "epic" and so I trim it to slightly less than epic status.
This is a great channel. I'm about 5 weeks into my first dedicated attempt at growing a beard. Lots of great tips, and inspiration here! Thanks man! 👊
Another great upload. The advice about not trimming as it reaches the top lip has just come in time.
That stage of the game is probably the hardest one to get by as the impulse to trim is at an all time high.
Great to have you aboard and that you're already enjoying your beard!
So thanks!
This is not my first time growing a handlebar mustache (my beard doesn't connect and is pretty thin so i shave it)
the only tip i have ever gotten before was from the internet and it said to not trim my mustache. this is my third time growing a dedicated handlebar and i can see how this is the most important thing. but having a knowledgeable bearded man encouraging me to keep going really helps.
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and your support! :)
Just got my Wildwood mustache wax today! Already love it, really helps tame those hairs and keep them in place. Love the smell of the Wildwood too!
Great to hear you're already enjoying the Wildwood Zack!
really love the chair out in the middle of nowhere. been growing the beard and mustache for a little over 2 months now and i love all your videos!
The Beard Baron Just uploaded a profile pic.. Thanks for the inspiration!
Looking great Jason! Keep it going!
Great video....learned some things I never knew about growing a mustache. Thanks.
Gotta tell you I can't wait for my full beard to fill in so I can directly order stuff from your website ;) best of luck to you and your channel man.
khaled kh I appreciate it!
Thank you for this awesome video. I'm on my stache journey now. Rounding 4months along with the beard
Almost two months into my first attempt at an epic 'stache. Everything said about the first time being a struggle is accurate and I'm just trying to enjoy the adventure!1
Sometimes I comb my mustache straight down so it blends in with my beard. It makes my mouth disappear and people give me strange looks.
dear beard baron, im mexican american my genetics kinda gave me a cantinflas mustache, i have a hard time growing out the middle i love and envy the way a lot of other beards look with the full bulk of hair directly underneath their nose; mine just kinda splits there a good half inch of thin hair area but the outer ends are growing fast my hairs are kinda coarse so idk what brand of mustache wax to go with to kinda tame those long thick whiskers with but thanks for the inspiration i will not trim till im satisfied.
Random Rob adhd embrace it mines like that too I go full on conquistador with a big goatee as well.
thanks! im currently growing it out again, this time i wont have to shave due to my job; i work in the garage now so i wont be around customers so much thats the only reason i had to shave.
The Beard Baron
do you trim away the hair between your moustache and beard?
my beard start pretty low on my cheecks so now i have e small line of hair next to my lips (like a ring beard)
and those hair go wild when i wax my stache
i was thinking of triming the hairs on the side of my lips to seperate the stache and beard
what do you think?
When would you say is a good time to start using wax? My 'beard' is aroun 5 weeks old now. My strongest asset is by far my moustache, closesly followed by my under neck and along the jaw line. My moustache is a little wild atm, i currently use an all natural styling product to help tame the strays out to the side, and a little bit of 'dax' on the very end to get a bit of a point as it seems a shame not to take advantage of the tache as my facial hair currently stands! Thanks!!
YOU CANT ESCAPE THE EPIC MUSTACHE!
haha. do a how to eat with a beard/mustache next!
Another awesome video! Best beard channel on UA-cam, can't wait to see more!
Thanks man! More on the way!
I don't blame you for being heavy handed. I just got some citrus bay and it's quite delightful.
Yea I can't get enough of this stuff!
Wow this guy replies to every single comment. That's some thing you don't see much you tubers do.
rockyvideomaker123 I try my best Rocky!
Thank you for the advice, I've been getting some negative comments but you've encouraged me to ignore them and keep growing! Thank you Sir for all you do!
Love the setting! Beard Baron rocks!
Thanks Stephan!
How is your hair so thick ? Wish mine was like that
Saw the outdoor chair and instantly liked
Thanks for making your videos! I'm a first time beard grower here. Lol. I've been shaving since my facial hair started growing. I have been shave free since the beginning of July and it's really tough to not shave it or trim it. You've got my sub!
i've never had any comments on my moustache nor have i had any negative comments on my facial hair. I think part of that may be the fact i'm 6'4" and 240lbs. I think one of the important things about having a large beard/moustache is wearing it proudly no matter the length/style.
Confidence is certainly key, but a 6'4" frame helps as well :)
When will you upload the mustache trimming video. Can't wait.
Enjoying all the.videos!!
Cannot wait until I am old enough to be able to grow a proper moustache and beard
I'm still aware of them but they just bother me that much like they used to!
i was waiting for this one :D good video buddy
is blue majic coconut oil ok to use to grow a mustache i apply it on with a small brush daily to moisturize it and keep it shiny
I don't use any comb or wax you can train it to grow the way you want just keep on guiding the way you want it to go with your fingers.
Hey MJS, glad you've been enjoying the Wildwood! If you give the mustache a go let me know how it works out for you!
Baron, I have a big question, how I must to comb my moustache if I wanna a walrus ? My middle hair tend to grow from outside in. Do I must comb it to the ouside and when it grows and cover the upper lip to the bottom? Thank you!
Please make more vids! I follow beard UA-cam's, but yours are the best. I loved the party on you did this year.
ive been growing my beard for about 1.5 months so far after shaving a 3 month beard off for a job.
You got the right attitude Travis! No worries as I'm putting together an eating/drinking video :)
Thanks!!
I'm officially joining the club. I really want to grow my facial hair out far as I can. I need all the help I can get
Hey man your videos are awesome I'm growing my beard and moustache out together for the first time, My profile photo is my beard at 6 weeks, Now I'm never touching my moustache I usually trim the top mid section and leave the rest but its nice to know its best to just let it all go and train it thanks.
great vid. im almost four months into not touching my moustache and its getting really big. tried last year trimmed a lot an failed. key is definitely to just let it rock.
Bobby Uttcrumbs It's definitely a good move to trim that if it starts driving you nuts as it can be very difficult to get those hairs to obey.
Negative comments?! Dude, your beard is amazing.
Justin Davis You'd be surprised Justin!
Nice vid, love looking at the nature in background.
When I look at your facial hair the word that comes to mind is LUSH haha, I'm jealous
+Konrad In the mean time I suppose you could just try to make the best of the Clubman's.
Ill have to keep an eye out for firehouse.
try murrays beeswax all natural and cheap lots of it
Super helpful vid. How long would it generally take to pass the bottom lip? Been growing
mine for 5 months but still not there yet.
+J.miguel It can be different for everyone. Only time will tell. I think I was around 6 months.
Hair generally grows about 1/4 inch a month. Mine grows a little faster than that. But some grow a little slower. So depends on the person.
How'd it go?
Geovanny Casco
Well, my recent profile pic shows what I've been able to grow along with a fair amount of trimming , as you can probably see, nothing close to epic proportions as I would have hoped.
That bowler/derby looks great on you, suits you well!
Luis S Thanks Luis!
You're welcome!
What brand is it? Wool felt or rabbit fur?
Hi Beard Baron! First time writer. I am a big fan. Thanks for the great information. I am wondering if you deliver to China? As I just recently moved here and am growing out my beard for the first time in a decade. Thanks.
