I want to thank you so very much! I have had my beard since I was 17 years old, and I am 52 now. In all that time I had always tried again and again to grow out my beard past the very neat and closely trimmed style. I wanted the look of a Civil War era man, but my beard would rebel and look funny to me. It would get a bit longer and curl, or look uneven to me and I would relent and go back to the neat trimmed style. I am now on my 2nd month of growth, and now I am using beard oli, beard balm, and stache wax. My beard is growing out and because of your videos it is a success. I finally learned how to use products that were good for my skin and beard, and kept the longer hairs looking neater. I still have some bad beard days, but I tell myself to wait them out, and I always look better soon. Thank you for your videos!
glad I watched this. I have a pretty good beard but keep my mustache short to access my food hole better but lately after seeing your videos and a few others I've been wanting to grow it out. thanks again for the video and now you have a new subscriber.
Hah! Solingen is like the next closest city to where I live. Feels good to hear that people appreciate the german craftsmanship of our blades. They are quality though!
thanks man! You hit all the points im having issues with. Another problem i have is that i live in South East Asia where barbers dont do beards, where shops dont carry beard caring products, and where often things ordered online from outside of the country do not get delivered at my house.
I'm so glad I decided to watch this. I was just about to shave it all off. I have a couple months growth now. I'm gonna keep it growing! Thanks! Great vid.
hey Baron, Just wanted to let you know this tutorial helped me so much. Ive been growing my beard and epic stache for about 8 months. Ive trimmed my beard many times, but have barely touch my stache. The paper tricked helped a ton!! Before this I've only snipped random hairs and had troubles distinguishing them from my beard. Now my stache is looking on point! Thanks again, Andy
You gave me two great pieces of advice. First, I was twisting the ends of my mustache and cutting them because I saw some guy swear by that technique. Second, "when in doubt about cutting your mustache, let it grow out." Just a couple of days ago I made that choice on my own. However, hearing it from a pro made me realize I made the right decision. thanks for saving me a lot grief.
Greetings from Germany Baron! I love your work here. Unfortunetly I have a very patchy beard, and my job doesn't allow to grow myself a beard. It entertains me very much to watch your tutorials!
Beard Baron, I'd just like to thank you for making these videos. Since subscribing to your channel, I have bought myself a Kent comb and I now know how to trim my beard and stache properly. I always used to cut way too much off and pretty much screwed up everything. Now I know: Just crumbs.
I decided to start my beard from scratch about two and a half weeks ago, (chin puff with a mustache) and these videos actually are really damn helpful, especially since my mustache grows asymmetrically from one side to the other. You perform a valuable public service sir!
Thank you for making this video! I have been growing mine out for a while and it's getting pretty epic. I've only lightly trimmed it in the past and it needs another trim because it is looking crazy.
Been growing out my first long beard and mustache. The 'stache has been the most confusing part by far. Your vids have restored my confidence in a couple of cases when I might have done something drastic. "Sneak up on it," and, "When in doubt, grow it out."
I want to thank you for this amazing channel. Your videos are high quality and really, really interesting. Before I started watching it, I had a rather short, full beard. Actually I didn't even care about it, I just had it. Than, I saw one of your videos and thought: wow, this guy is cool! The way you approach having a beard made me think about growing a larger beard, but with a classy look. I started using oil and wax to tame that wild hairs and it worked great. So about 2 months ago I started growing my beard out, and it already is quiet large, but still looks really nice. While growing out the beard, I'm also growing out the mustache. This was pretty hard at the beginning was rather strange because of the hair getting into my mouth, but now as it grows longer I'm getting more used to it. Thanks again for the great channel, keep doing this great job!
Holy hell! That is the most informative and brilliant video on mustaches I've ever seen! Wonderful tips! I've made a ton of those mistakes and managed to turn out ok. This is gonna take my game to the next level! Thank you
Thanks for this video Baron. I am very hesitant to trim anything on my stash but after 7 months I had some hairs doing some crazy things. It was great to see how a boss does it the right way.
BB- Your advice on patience and "crumbs" have really helped me to gain confidence. My biggest challenge has been straight mustache hair and a curly ringlet beard. Any tips on taming a curly beard?
David Greene If the beard is very curly it's best to embrace it and to allow it to grow out and then shape it accordingly to whatever style your prefer. Sometimes the added length will add enough weight to "relax" the curls just a bit. Beard oil helps as well.
wow! thank you so much! the paper trick is what I'm going to try. i was so scared to just "freestyle" it, but that paper trick looks awesome. it was the "body" of the mustache i contacted you about months ago. thank you for making this.
First off let me say I've been growing my beard for two months. I was trimming the stash every week but decided to just let everything just grow out. I'm a disabled veteran and I decided for now to let it grow till it reaches the floor.
Just found your channel and used the tips from this video to trim my mustache (which has been very difficult for me) and the tips worked great. Thank you Beard Baron 🤘
Just bought some mustache wax from you to tame my stache a bit more, one side seems to curl naturally better than the other side, 1 side curls and 1 side naturally stays down. Cause of that I'm always messing with my stache and making sure it looks somewhat symmetrical, the last wax i had i did not like at all so going to give this one a shot, it seems very good and sturdy.
Another great video with useful hands on information for fellow BEARD Brothers. You're a true BEARD ambassador and I want to thank you, kind Sir. Thanks Beard Baron, keep up the good work!
Great video! I'm in my fourth Month of growing a beard and you're the one that gave me the confidence to go for it. I keep my stache pretty short but I took a bit too much off. Litterally five mins later, I saw this video. Beard on!
love the videos! keep up the great work. I'm in the process of letting my beard grow out for the first time. for the past 2 years I've just kept a shot close beard but I'm ready to let this thing rock. just ordered some oil wax and combs. can't wait to see how it grows!
Looking to trim my mustache and this video really helped, I'm definitely subscribing and picking up some mustache wax. You've helped correct a lot of bad trimming habits. The white paper trick helped a lot too.
A great tutorial! I´ve heard that many people prefer to train the hair to grow on the sides and not to trim. Of course it depends on what you´re looking for.
The Beard Baron I made an order yesterday from you. It shipped today. I got all three combs. Some wild wood wax and beard oil. I'm excited to get it. I've been using a cheap .99 cent comb. Which I think damaged my beard a bit. But live and learn right?
Thank you I especially liked the part about walking away when things get a little bit tense. I can't tell you how many times I ended up shaving it all off out of frustration. I also believe it is important to know how to do this yourself. I can't tell you how many times I've been pissed off at the barber fo being a hack. If you want something done right you do it yourself!
Good advice, thanks for sharing! I've always had a penchant for hair trimming, but beards are an entirely different ballgame. One thing which makes giving advice so hard is that everyone's beard is slightly different. My a beard's six months old now, and my mustache curls inward so aggressively that it's constantly getting in my mouth. Even at 2" long, it just wasn't taking the turn outwards. So after a two week deliberation, I just trimmed it with the help of your video. That paper trick is an excellent idea, and I used it to great effect. My next decision to make is whether to cut a beard line to get rid of the cheek scruff, but I digress. Thanks again for the tips! 👍
great videos as always....I ordered one of your t shirts and cant wait to get it and represent the beard baron in Oklahoma. Keep the great videos comin...thanks
Thank you so much for the video. Lots of great information and tips from experience. Will be definitely be buying the scissors in a month or so. Someone said I looked like a lumberjack today, I'll take that as a compliment thank you haha. Keep up the great work.
Hey BeardBaron, I just bought a few awesome things from your website and I was just wondering what the typical delivery time frame is like. Can't wait to get my hands on a new mustache comb!
Great video thank you so much. It really is a pleasure learning knowledgeable person who loves sharing their experience. Great tips, easy to follow - just beardly briliant!
Such a helpful video! So much art in the moustache trimming by the The Beard Baron! Thanks again for such an awesome video! Btw, the brown hairs in your moustache make it even more epic! And as I also found out, beard oil make them shine and stand out!!!
At first I thought "15 mins on trimming a moustache?" Lol! But couldn't believe how informative this was. I'm 4 months into my man mane and the eating my stache is getting annoying! BUT....you're right, going to leave it for the time being. You just negotiated a possible moustache suicide! Thanks brother. Looking forward to watching your other videos
Handsome video and style good sir. started growing out my own epic stash however i notice just from natural growth one side seems to grow fuller and longer than the other any tips? You mentioned dont get caught in the evening out game but i have a good stash going want to stay on that path. much appreciated!!
Is there a certain way to comb your stache as it's growing out? My stache is just about to touch my bottom lip and I'm having issues combing it because the hairs go all over the place. I use mustache wax but my hairs still won't behave. I'm currently combing from the middle and straight out. What's your recommendation? Cheers!
Baron first thanks a lot for the tutorial. Really helpful! My right side of my mustache is curling down and this is really annoying! I've been growing it for 9month and i use to cut lip line but no anymore, knowing that i really take care of my beard and mustache with conditioners and i blow dry it after shower. Need you expertise bro. Cheers
Thanks for your videos they are great! I am just starting to grow my mustache and I'm going to be going for the gunslinger style. I'm 30 so a little late getting started. I am just wondering where in the corners of the mouth should i stop shaving? I'm about 3 weeks in so hairs are going everywhere at this stage. Any information would be appreciated. Keep up the videos bro!
Robert Bachman Thanks for watching Robert! A good place to shave is where the smile line is which can be seen when you smile. This is right at the corners. It can be modified to your liking but it's a good place to start.
I'm in cosmetology school at the moment, I wanted to be a barbor but it wasn't offered in my area. Your vids and your beard are awesome. I will be that barbor that knows their shit about how to trim a beard!:) cheers!
The Beard Baron Whenever I shave, which because of school/college restrictions I always have to do once a week, I always encounter one or two hair follicles on my philturm - where you're cutting around 9:12 on this video - which are really painful to cut: I literally have developed my own facial expression when doing so. Any info on what this is and/or how I can stop it until I'm finally freed from immediate compulsory-shaving society?
It sounds like you might have sensitive skin in that area and when you are cutting the hairs you might slightly pull on them causing pain or irritation. Growing out the mustache and not cutting that area will certainly help. The cause could be also tied to acne or a similar condition which may pass over time.
Something I would say is if you're wanting to significantly alter the length of your 'stache, that's a much more major decision than just cutting the tips off a hair or two to clean it up. So, you should take a few days extra to think on that decision before committing to it.
What would you recommend for guys with really straight hair? My whole beard tends to lean to the right after getting to a certain length. Loving your videos.
Great tips and advice Beard Baron. Is it advisable to trim the moustache before it reaches epic proportions or when the wearer reaches the size he is happy with?
I always encourage men to grow out to the length the like and then trim back. I'm actually growing out the middle of my mustache but trimmed it for the video sake. For example I like where my ends are so I would trim those and allow everything else to catch up.
The Beard Baron What do you recommend for mustaches that have uneven growth? I'm 7 months in, and the right side of my beard is weaker in general, but as it has grown out, it has become less of a problem.. except in my stache. The left side is thick - like super thick and the right side may be closer to terminal length. At least it feels like I lose hairs more often on that side from normal care, and then I try not to freak out. Also, my beard is really curly, and I feel like maybe that is why my mustache is always changing shape - I cannot usually get the same style - it really feels like every day is different..Do you have any immediate thoughts, suggestions?? I have not trimmed the stache yet only grown it into this unchiseled block of marble on my face. Anywho, hope all is well - and you were able to get the lost package to me in Deustchland over Christmas resolved. I sure love the wildwood wax - I force all of my friends to take big smell ha ha. -Greg
Gregory Haddock Hey Gregory, glad you're enjoying the Wildwood wax! As for mustaches they can be tricky as they rarely grow evenly or symmetrically. I have a stronger growing side and I trim it a little more aggressively than the thinner side. The best you can do is make the best of it but just be careful to not over trim it.
Hello Beard baron! Do you know if you'll be doing a video on how to shave/trim a neckline? Just reaching my beard paralysis stage and stuck on how to do a fitting neckline, there doesn't seem to be much info on UA-cam about necklines for beards unfortunately! Great series btw, love catching up on your beard and moustache tips!
Hi Johny, is there any tips to keep you stash out of your mouth when your eating or drinking, i think I might be at a frustrating part of the beard (about 4 months) and I have been struggling wuth it for a few weeks. Thanks mate
You've probably saved thousands of mustaches. A true hero.
Seriously though; thanks for the video.
Jonas5188 Glad I could help Jonas! All the best!
I was gonna trim my stache....then I saw your stache..and I put the scissors down. ...and walked away.
SpuderrMon ha ha
I started wanking with my mustache like a real man eh.
17jflor yes. Walk away from the scissors!
Same lmao..Thought mine was long then saw his and was like damn he looks good!
The paper trick just saved my mustache career...career? Yea I'm calling it a career. Great video!

Thanks for the advice on symmetry. I was driving myself crazy about it.
Your beard wash is spot on too. Cheers for the assistance Johnny.

Thanks! I haven't seen any other trimming videos that explain how to clip the ends without blunting them. Not one.
Looks like I am now ready to trim my mustache! Thank you for the great video!
brady anderson Best of luck with your trim Brady. Just take it slow and you'll do just fine!
Great tutorial. I really like the paper trick to see what you're dealing with.
That was SO informative! You are a great inspiration.
It's also nice the you don't upload tons of videos on your channel, just for the sake of it.

The Beard Baron
Whenever I shave, which because of school/college restrictions I always have to do once a week, I always encounter one or two hair follicles on my philturm - where you're cutting around 9:12 on this video - which are really painful to cut: I literally have developed my own facial expression when doing so.
Great advice! When in doubt, grow it out.
God, there are days I hate my moustache! So this video is great. I love it.
Thanks for this! Where can we get those scissors these days?
@thebeardbaron are those the same scissors from the luxury beard kit.
I'm digging that paper trick! useful info thanks for spreading it. subbed liked
The Beard Baron Thanks Beard Baron
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.
Hey Oliver, I hope to put something together soon that address the neckline issue so definitely stay tuned!
Hi Johny, is there any tips to keep you stash out of your mouth when your eating or drinking, i think I might be at a frustrating part of the beard (about 4 months) and I have been struggling wuth it for a few weeks.
Thanks mate
Bro man to man you are the essence of what it means to be a man 👍
