Just did a DSC run where I messed up my loadouts, had 1 cold comfort rocket and no surges, and STILL was top DPS.

@@ethanhensley9355can’t speak to them, but I know I’ve clicked on the wrong loadout before DPS and ended up swapping heavy weapons and nuking my heavy ammo

Would be cool to see optimal DPS for each subclass in your spreadsheet. Might not be "meta" but it still provides a good baseline for what the subclass contributed to boss damage.
Solar Titan is a good example. Not every team is able to fully spec into damage, and few teams can for day 1. Maybe a tab for single best damage rotation for each subclass?
I also think this could be very relevant in solo content and for newer players who aren't able to run the "meta"

These videos have been so useful for me. I play with people who are so into optimizing dps that it feels bad to be bottom of the meters all the time. I was always fine with knowing general dps loadouts, but the how the rotations work has shot my dps up to almost on par with them. Even found some great rolls in my vault I didnt know I had. Really makes dps feel more like the MMOs I used to play compared to before.

For the Titan, Throne-Cleaver, you mentioned that it eats the third heavy. That only happens if you DON'T let the energy bar fill up. Doing the double slam followed by 3 light attacks will fill the bar back up (3x Lucent Blades) allowing you to continue the rotation. This should be the most ammo efficient (1 Heavy = 3x Light damage = 3 ammo consumed) outside of relentless strikes and should come in at more than 196,000 DPS, assuming surrounded stays proc'd.
That aside, I have been loving your content! Please keep up the great work!
That's not bad, but it's unfortunately not enough to make up for Throne-Cleaver's slow general animation cycle. If it attacked faster and wasn't so hefty, it'd definitely be decent for sword damage vs. the top contenders.

P.S: autoloading, surplus, or threat detector for trench barrel aggressive frame shotgun damage? I imagine it's dealer's choice, given the use of reload canceling and ascent reloads.

8:50 for blade barrage user, use ember of beams, it’s necessary in most of scenario (cause not every bosses is big as oryx XD)
Beams doesn't make a noticeable difference on most bosses that we've tried it on in the past, but it's also a decent throwaway 5th fragment
I listen to aegis while I fall asleep so I can do 200k total damage on crota in lfg groups and flex on everyone

i 've been on and off playing a bit of destiny 2 since release, never seen a raid from the inside, barely a dungeon
the requirements seem soooo crazy and the hurdles so high
the game is so punishing if you miss certain weapons which you basically cant obtain anymore, or just from raids and dungeons
but you need them to be usefull
the lack of ingame group finder is just the cake on top^^

I haven't heard frame rate capping being recommended since the thresher cabal ship nonsense around lightfall launch. Had to go elsewhere to find out why, but it seems frame rate capping to 60 (or 30 if you dare) helps with sword tracking. TIL

Hey so when doing these damage videos you often showcase optimal damage rotations (which is nice) but for example the rain of fire double shotty into tractor warlock video shows you shooting morgeth with a wall directly behind you in a perfect situation this obviously works but can we get some videos as well showing most of these builds in practice so we can see how you would play them in a real fight and adjust for changes in boss location and such. Just feels like these builds might be best optimal damage but only in perfect scenarios where often times when playing we won't be put in perfect scenarios. Sorry for the long request hopefully you understand what I'm asking. Thank you for your content :)
Also if we could get more content explaining how to pull off perfect animation cancels and such for different rotations.

@TheAegisRelic I think just like, a comprehensive run down on either how to do any animation canceling for weapon swaps, or a quick video that links to the best available community resources for performing different techniques I think would be welcome. I'm sorry if my prior comment was a bit rambling I was at work and couldn't type as cleanly haha.
Honestly a lot of being better at animations in D2 is just swapping off your weapon as early as possible after firing, which just takes some practice to learn
Once did Atheon with a group where we wiped at the end of 4 damage phases, our Ghallajhorn user had somehow only 416 damage (not 416k, but actually 416) because he found a way to miss every single rockets in every single phase.
Powerful gaming
I wish Titan would have more endgame damage rotation options, but it just seems like we don’t have enough variety when it comes to dealing damage as compared to other classes. Of course the trade off is that we have arguably the best neutral game subclass in the game in bonk hammer titan, but still, it hurts to see.
arguiably banner of war is better
Berserker is the highest by far when it does work though. Also these damage rotations are for the top players, there are other great options my favourites for crota are Imperial with Trench Barrel then Eremite and Tractor with Pyrogale (when its back) or TCrash Cuirass. Damage you will get will compare to sword users and giving the team a debuff. Solo content is where Titans shine making dungeon bosses a joke with grapple one two punch and banner of war melees or tractor bonk titan. Edit. Will have to try out these setups with Heartshadow too.
My hopium take is that with the new void shield grenade they are going to also going to buff banner of war to make it compete with well

Would have loved to see cuirass/Pyrogale included in that list for Titans. Since Strand titan is pretty much not applicable for like half of all raid bosses. I don’t see myself punching the garden Harpyie, (Atraks,) Tanniks, Aetheon, Caretaker, Warpriest, Golgoroth, Daughters, (Oryx,) and Nezarek.
But a thundercrash or quick pyrogale burning maul is possible on all these bosses.
Ascent rocket reload across 9 is DPS gain over using Cuirass even with no BoW interactions, titan's lack of reload option is that bad
@@TheAegisRelic Most of these damage phases are like long enough to use 7-9 rockets without needing to reload manually (just relying on alh, recon) and casting a super.
Ontop of that if you are on tractor or gally u shoot ur special most of the time anyways. So adding a dps super is 100% a damage increase isn’t it? (Only for the above listed bosses ofc, where Strand melee dmg isn’t an option)
Sort of? You have your special to dump as well, there's rarely a phase long enough where you're 0/0/0 and then your ability carryover matters

Could you further explain the reasoning behind 123 aggressives over 1212 lightweights? I know it's better total, but is it preferable for dps too? It seems like firing tractor more frequently wouldn't be great; if it helps, I'm mainly considering a RoF warlock.
123 swaps bypass the slow agg fire rate completely, which essentially means you are firing 2 aggressives and a lightweight (Tractor) at the same rate as 3 lightweights
I love the "bwaoao".
Titan thundercrash/cuirass swap and actium combined with an loaded grand overture (20x) does good damage and is easy to pull off. Perfect for beginners joining lfg. Thundercrash alone makes 400k damage, combined with at least 40 grand overture rockets, 20 normal shots and 2 surges you will be the top dps guy
Good burst but really falls off after that, remember a fully loaded Overture volley is about equal to 2 rockets of damage

hey man nice video - the thing that bothers me with some of these setups is that are we mainly supposed to use abilities to ad clear (for example running izi+sniper+rocket or izi+gl+rocket)? And if we aren't running arc hunter infinite punch or running sunbracers, would ad clear potentially be quite tricky as sniping or using gl on ads seems rather inconvenient. Just wondering what's the work around for this :) Thanks
swapping your energy weapons takes like 1-2 ammo so you can easily swap from forbearance or whatever you use
Just use a different special and then swap off of it for damage. Swapping between special weapons barely consumes ammo, if at all.

Question about Horseman/Wendigo. Is there a world where either a Cascade Point Astral Horizon or an ALH/Cascade Point Until Its Return (depending on whether kinetic damage bonus matters more than ALH) does better for that rotation than KT Supremacy? It seems to me that you only shoot the sniper once at the beginning to proc Cascade Point on Wendigo, and while that's really efficient from a time standpoint, that's also a fair amount of kinetic special ammo left on the table.
The current rotation: KT Supremacy -> dump Wendigo -> super -> hotswap RDM -> dump Wendigo again (how is Cascade Point proc'd here? is there another KT Supremacy you missed in editing?) -> RDM dump horseman -> dump Wendigo.
Something like first Horseman mag -> dump UIR -> dump Wendigo -> super -> hotswap RDM -> RDM dump Horseman, but don't shoot the last mag -> dump UIR -> dump Wendigo -> last Horseman mag -> dump UIR -> dump Wendigo.
I'm guessing the DPS would be a bit lower but there'd be noticeably more total.
1. The Horseman crits proc Cascade, which has its Ready period long enough to use it after you RDM swap
2. I think the Horseman Cataphract rotation might be what you're looking for, which unfortunately didn't have the total damage results you might expect, and yeah, it does sacrifice DPS for it
@@TheAegisRelic The difference relative to Horseman Cataphract is 1. surge matching to 4H instead of UIR 2. Cascade over BnS. But yeah, fair enough.
Rain of fire also works with new warlock strand aspect
Weavewalk is extremely overrated and is usually DPS loss

For Strand Titan, shout out to Navigator for that grapple point and spamming One Two Punch grapple melees haha. Saw Salt do this to almost solo 1 phase Ir Yut and iv been doing it non stop haha hit around 300k with Synthos

Warlocks can also use sanguine alchemy if your mods are all used on something other than surges when well and ghally

It is extremely rare that Sanguine is ever useful but it is an option yes
Is there any potential for using lucky pants + adept warden's law as filler in a hunter tractor rotation? Conceptually that seems decent, but I haven't tested it or looked at numbers.
Tried it and it's just okay, check the Warden's sniper Gjallarhorn rotation in the sheet, you can execute a similar concept on Tractor but the DPS isn't actually very good compared to double pellet

Shoutout to the other half for being able to roll the same perks as bequest but void and doesent need a raid team to get as well as being craftable for enhanced surround
Bequest does more damage straight up because of its impact stat. So Other Half with Enh Surrounded is an option if you have void surge weapons... but I think that the existence of 4th Horseman matching Arc Weapon Surges just makes Bequest the better choice if you aren't using Lament.
On top of what Technizor said Bequest also does more health bar damage for whatever reason (12-18%) which puts it far above other swords
Also The Other Half doesn't get Surrounded any more

123 swaps on aggressives are better, 1212 swaps on lightweights are better

I've had that problem a lot ty. The other problem I run into is not holding guard for long enough on lament so the perk doesn't activate.
After the recent shotgun video you posted, is it still worth using lightweight shotguns on titan, if not solely for one two punch? What about boss damage?

is there no play for icefall mantle behemoth w/ envious B&S? for shorter phases of course. also thoughts on sanguine? doesn't help w/ rotations but allows more total damage w/ the equivalent of 5 surges
Sanguine is pretty much never worth it over another warlock neutral exotic and if you wanted to do a quad surge setup hunter would be better on Bakris or Foe

Hey aegis this may sound like a dumb question but with so many optimal dps being rain of fire or RDM and rockets. How do you not blow each other up or get in each other's way. Or use in a lfg without pissing people off?
The answer is to take your time with your damage rotation and move in a predictable and consistent manner, especially with RoF into walls or objects
for hunter nighthawk you mentioned kinetic surges, I thought they patched kinetic surges affecting golden gun very recently? anyway superb information as always
last I checked, 3x no longer works, but 1x and 2x still do for some reason. game dev hard?
x3 being patched is actually completely fine for rotations since as mentioned by the lemon fellow x1 was what was used by rotations anyways

My favorite Hunter swap for Crota right now is Star Eaters with Moebius Quiver and Tracor swap to Foetracers with Heartshadow. I use Nessa’s until right before the debuff runs out and I reproc it with heartshadow and switch to Swordbreaker with triple kinetic surge swapping with heartshadow to keep the debuff on him. I’ve 6 mil with it before.

Depends on the boss but bipod does the same total damage as bait and switch yet you don’t need to proc it and if you miss a rocket it isn’t as detrimental
Bipod is irrelevant for boss DPS outside of day 1 (I'm the one that made these claims about Bipod to begin with)

I thought swapping from star eater to any other exotic while super is still active gets rid of the x4 buff and changes it back to a normal supers worth of damage, am I missing something?
it does not do that. you can even swap it while you're mid-animation in the air!

So quick question why are you recommending blade barrage star eaters for general gameplay? Star eaters gathering storm does more damage. I know the jolt doesn’t stack anymore so multiple hunters can’t run it, but it still does more damage.
No it doesn't
@@TheAegisRelic it may not be the highest burst damage but because of the jolt it applies it does end up doing more damage afterwards if you have a longer damage phase.

So I do have a question that is I don’t really understand hunter solar subclass does it have very great survivability other than me having to run around and grab fire sprites or getting nade kills is there a better way to do it
Healing grenade + Empyrean + Solace is how most people do it
I used nade kills give cure and melee orb+recoup until the YAS nerfs were announced. Now I use that above, it works super well with sunshot or something like mini tool, especially with foetracer or lucky pants. Now it's extending restoration by getting solar kills or going ham with melee orb healing.
Edit- when I use lucky pants I use a solar trace or wave frame most of the time for add clear and tractor, and 4th times vorpal wardens law to delete high health targets. One of my favorite builds rn besides grapple maelstrom hunter
Best DPS: Aggressive frame GL with Mulligan.
2nd best: Aggressive frame Taipan.
3rd best: Aggressive frame Ammit

I don't understand how on Titan, for the Berserker Apex rotation, when you switch to Horsemen, you have Div equipped when you were just shooting a shotgun. Is it cut together?
It's spliced yeah some of the stuff I swap from will be on other classes and weapons just focus on what I'm swapping to

Why grapple over threadling for ascent over 9? The actual animation difference is minor, threading’s give extra damage and with arma + generation it’s roughly the same as grappling a grapple point with Navi or Widows silk, factoring in the ascent ICD.
In a Titan context, btw.
I know the Warlock reason is that post-nerf Generation is not good enough to use Threadling Grenade as often, so Grapple gets you more Ascent procs. Threadlings don't actually do that much damage in the grand scheme of things. I assume the Titan reason has more to do with 12P.
Threadling does next to no damage and the insurance of grapples even with Arma is more worth, pre-Generation nerf it was a maybe but now for me it's definitely a no (across 9, across 7 it's fine with Arma)
@@TheAegisRelic Not even with the new buff and evolution? I run a Arma-Threadling-Generation-Evolution setup on my titan with Two-Tailed and its definitely not meta but it puts up surprisingly solid numbers considering the lack of using cold comfort/apex/izi.
As I've said before on stream, multiplying a really low number by 1.25 still yields a low number :(
Is No Backup Plans + Acrius / 4th Horseman on void titan any good?
NBP isn't worth when Lumina gives the same non-stackable buff and Sentinel has no damage assistance options
