I still maintain Spongebob BC as one of my favorite specials. Like I said on your season 4 review, I feel if the story holds up, then they don't need much comedy, and I have to respect how ambitious it was. I also liked Born Again Krabs, Krabby Land and Pranks a Lot, but I have an easier time seeing your point of view on them.

All the fish can be really mean spirited in the episode..and that really messes with the episode's comedy some... It is still pretty great though! xD
Although 'The Sponge Who Could Fly" was an okay episode, I agree that the highlight was him singing. In my opinion this is one of the best vocals of Tom Kenny. It was that very last song with Spongebob riding on the jellyfish. That high note (not that high) he did near the end I loved and still love now. It's not anything to overhype. I just like it. I must have been like 11 or 12 when this ep aired. ah memories.
TSWCF was an alright episode Imo too besides the Patchy stuff. Only thing I hate about this episode is everyone chasing after SpongeBob as he owes them favors. And cannonball Jenkins blowing up SpongeBobs pants causing him to pass out making everyone think he’s dead, and then he steps on a stair of jellyfish and is able to fly without inflating his pants…it’s a little cliché if you ask me. But it’s not the worst either

Little fun Fact: In the german Version of Spongebob the "Harold" Joke in Born Again Krabs is one of the most iconic scenes of the Show, because Mr. Krabs and a character from a another popular Kids Show in Germany shared the same voice actor and they made a really funny reference out of that
My favourite scene from Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost is when SpongeBob says "Patrick, are you coming?", and Patrick keeps saying "yes" even though his back is turned.
I agree with you on all the episodes pretty easily, except for "The Chaperone." Maybe I have a soft place in my heart for this one because it was one of the first episodes I remember watching, but I think it deserves a little more than meh. The title, which may seem oddly bland at first, hints at being sort of a play on a sitcom situation, and done in a classic SpongeBob style, with all the slapstick that can only be done in cartoons. The idea of Pearl taking her father's employee to the prom does sound a little weird in real life context, especially if you think that SB is supposed to be an adult, but because it IS SpongeBob and because he's so naive and innocent, and he's trying so hard to be a good date and do that job correctly makes the plot idea work. Even the crying moment with SpongeBob in the restroom does what it's supposed to--it tugs on your heartstrings. And honestly, this being the only episode where Pearl and SpongeBob communicate in a truly down to earth way makes this episode a necessary example of how classic SpongeBob SHOULD behave--well meaning, eager, but aware of the things that are going wrong around him and the competency to try and resolve them.
The one joke I did find funny in the episode Ugh was the bit with Mr Krabs ancestor. For some reason, I thought it was funny watching a cute little crab skitter about going "Money! Money!"
Remember, that was only how my friend felt. She had never been exposed to post movie SpongeBob, and wasn't expecting some episodes to be THAT bad. I'm trying to go into each episode without bias or anger from a previous bad episode to influence me. I'm still working on the ratings, but so far it is relatively mixed. I'm making sure to watch each of these a few times before giving it a final rating.

I saw the comment on Patrick's a Prick and honestly I don't think season 5 Patrick is as bad as Season 6 or 7 Patrick. I also can't believe his comment has nearly 200 thumbs up. And it sounds like PIEGUY hates season 5. Both him and his friend sounded pretty pissed off. There are some bad Season 5 episodes but some of them are actually good. But I can imagine PIEGUY watching season 5 and shaking his head in disbelief. His veins must be ready to fall out by how he sounded in that comment.
I honestly think .Dumped is a ScumBob to me. Maybe it's just me because I am sensitive, but I was close to crying toward the end because I knew where the story was going to go....and I was pretty pissed off at Patrick through the entire thing. I don't ever remember laughing at this episode. Anyone else?

Actually one of my favorite gags in the series was when Neptune repeatedly burns Patrick for challenging him, and yet he keeps doing it. I find that really funny as a kid, and still do, especially when he says "Ouch"
I don't think Pieguy's problem with Meh Episodes, is that he can't stand watching them, or The Episodes Being devoid of fun moments. I think his problem with meh episodes is, that they're lazy, and feel like padding for more episodes.
What I think: Squidward The Unfriendly Ghost = Meh The Chaperone = Good, but close to Meh Neptune's Spatula = Meh, but close to Good Bubble Buddy = ScumBob Dumped = ScumBob (all the theatre because of a stupid cookie?! Oh c'mon, seriously?!...) Ugh = ScumBob (totally boring episode at all, Patchy doing a shitty job as usual in specials. Wonder how people can like it) Born Again Krabs = Meh Krabby Land = ScumBob (Mr. Krabs obsession with money bothers me most, whole episode feels odd and weird to watch) The Sponge Who Could Fly = ScumBob (a pretty dull episode, and the towns people are very unlikable here. And again: Fuck Patchy!) Pranks a Lot = Good
The Sponge Who Could Fly was misspelled. It was supposed to say "The Scum That Should Die". Seriously, though, I don't think anyone would've been sad if this episode stood lost.
Here’s my opinions: All S1 meh’s: They’re pretty good, but I guess I can understand since they were a bit boring. Season 2: Bubble Buddy: I personally think this is a ScumBob. It’s very annoying to watch spongebob annoy everybody with his bubble and the few funny parts don’t really save it. Dumped: I don’t remember it much. Season 3: UGH: Would’ve worked better as a regular episode. Still good in my opinion. The sponge who could fly: The spongebob parts are pretty bad, the patchy parts are pretty funny. The patchy parts and essential pre-movie charm save it to a meh. All others: Good.

I agree with you for most of them, except for the three season 1 episodes you mentioned. Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost, The Chaperone, and Neptune's Spatula were actually funny in my opinion. Bubble Buddy was kind of a meh episode, except for the Leif Erikson Day part. The Sponge who could fly was actually a bad episode. That episode is something I'd expect to see on season 6 or beyond. That was really the only bad episode in the first three seasons. Most were amazing, some were meh, and only one was bad. I'm not judging you, though. Everyone has their own opinions.
I believe these are all fair assessments. My only point of contention is that I believe Pranks a Lot was really funny, though that's just my opinion. I also find it amusing that the very last moment of the show (excluding the movie of course) was going to be seeing SpongeBob and Patrick naked.

I wasn’t a fan of “The Chaperone” as it seemed to insult teenagers and their experiences with proms by having them all get badly injured and are screaming in pain and horror. Also if Sandy was in that episode, she would’ve been REALLY jealous. Season one was actually during a time when her and SpongeBob were somewhat romantically interested in each other. Plus I’m not really into Pearl that much...Sandy is WAY better! “Bubble Buddy” was alright, but I didn’t really know who to root for. I also wished that Sandy and Patrick got to meet Bubble Buddy. “The Sponge Who Could Fly” was fine, expect for the fact that all of the background fish were absolutely horrible unlikable jerks! It’s like they thought that SpongeBob inflated his pants to help them and not to fly with the jellyfish. SHAME ON THEM!!! I’ve never been a fan of the background fish!

Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost: In hindsight, it was meh. The Chaperone: Kinda meh, but I liked it better than Employee of the Month, and I found the dummy gags to be funny. Neptune's Spatula: I found it kinda funny, too. Bubble Buddy: I stopped watching this episode for a while until the post-movie episodes got bad enough for me. But it's still not as good as Big Pink Loser. Dumped: Aside from the parts with Rex the worm and the other snails, this episode was meh. Krabby Land: The lima beans were the best part. The Sponge Who Could Fly: I actually really like this episode, and I WISH it was the series finale...
For me, The Chaperone is a ScumBob episode, but it's also a guilty pleasure. I think Pearl summed it up pretty succinctly: as far as disasters go, it was pretty fun.
I think that spongebob should only have holidays because if theres one that's not for any holiday like PARTY POOPER PANTS,UGH,THE SPONGE WHO COULD FLY so they should not be aired for any speshal reason its just a speshal episode.
One episode that had a really bogus ending was Imitation Krab. Plankton installed a Penny operated self destruct mechanism into his robot purely because the biggest Deus ex macina in SpongeBob history. Was it even foreshadowed? I don't think so. The penny was, but the self-destruct mechanism itself was a complete ass pull. And no, it wasn't funny I either.
I actually think reviewing a whole season is miles better than just reviewing or complaining over one episode because you can tackle everything. It's like looking at a comic book superhero or supervillain team because knocking one episode down is like fighting a minion. But, if you fight an entire team, you get everyone, including the leader. But, that's not enough. It's like Red Skull said, "Cut off one head. Two more shall take its place."
I agree with what you said about Pranks a Lot not having a lot of jokes in it, but as for their jerk-ish actions, they got what they deserved at the end of the episode, as strange as it was. I feel like it would have deserved the meh rating if the episode ended without Live Nude Pranksters.

My favourite scene from Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost is when SpongeBob says "Patrick, are you coming?", and Patrick keeps saying "yes" even though his back is turned.
I agree with you on all the episodes pretty easily, except for "The Chaperone." Maybe I have a soft place in my heart for this one because it was one of the first episodes I remember watching, but I think it deserves a little more than meh. The title, which may seem oddly bland at first, hints at being sort of a play on a sitcom situation, and done in a classic SpongeBob style, with all the slapstick that can only be done in cartoons. The idea of Pearl taking her father's employee to the prom does sound a little weird in real life context, especially if you think that SB is supposed to be an adult, but because it IS SpongeBob and because he's so naive and innocent, and he's trying so hard to be a good date and do that job correctly makes the plot idea work. Even the crying moment with SpongeBob in the restroom does what it's supposed to--it tugs on your heartstrings. And honestly, this being the only episode where Pearl and SpongeBob communicate in a truly down to earth way makes this episode a necessary example of how classic SpongeBob SHOULD behave--well meaning, eager, but aware of the things that are going wrong around him and the competency to try and resolve them.
The one joke I did find funny in the episode Ugh was the bit with Mr Krabs ancestor. For some reason, I thought it was funny watching a cute little crab skitter about going "Money! Money!"

Remember, that was only how my friend felt. She had never been exposed to post movie SpongeBob, and wasn't expecting some episodes to be THAT bad. I'm trying to go into each episode without bias or anger from a previous bad episode to influence me. I'm still working on the ratings, but so far it is relatively mixed. I'm making sure to watch each of these a few times before giving it a final rating.

I saw the comment on Patrick's a Prick and honestly I don't think season 5 Patrick is as bad as Season 6 or 7 Patrick. I also can't believe his comment has nearly 200 thumbs up. And it sounds like PIEGUY hates season 5. Both him and his friend sounded pretty pissed off. There are some bad Season 5 episodes but some of them are actually good. But I can imagine PIEGUY watching season 5 and shaking his head in disbelief. His veins must be ready to fall out by how he sounded in that comment.

I honestly think .Dumped is a ScumBob to me. Maybe it's just me because I am sensitive, but I was close to crying toward the end because I knew where the story was going to go....and I was pretty pissed off at Patrick through the entire thing. Actually one of my favorite gags in the series was when Neptune repeatedly burns Patrick for challenging him, and yet he keeps doing it. I find that really funny as a kid, and still do, especially when he says "Ouch"
I think my favorite part about that sequence is Neptune’s pissed off reactions to Patrick challenging him. The faces he makes are so funny.
I don't think Pieguy's problem with Meh Episodes, is that he can't stand watching them, or The Episodes Being devoid of fun moments. I think his problem with meh episodes is, that they're lazy, and feel like padding for more episodes.

The Sponge Who Could Fly was misspelled. It was supposed to say "The Scum That Should Die". Seriously, though, I don't think anyone would've been sad if this episode stood lost.

All S1 meh’s: They’re pretty good, but I guess I can understand since they were a bit boring.
Season 2: Bubble Buddy: I personally think this is a ScumBob. It’s very annoying to watch spongebob annoy everybody with his bubble and the few funny parts don’t really save it.
Dumped: I don’t remember it much.
Season 3: UGH: Would’ve worked better as a regular episode. Still good in my opinion.
The sponge who could fly: The spongebob parts are pretty bad, the patchy parts are pretty funny. The patchy parts and essential pre-movie charm save it to a meh.
All others: Good.
I always thought I recognized the Cavemans voice! Even little me noticed when he started singing "hmm, he sounds familiar"

I agree with you for most of them, except for the three season 1 episodes you mentioned. Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost, The Chaperone, and Neptune's Spatula were actually funny in my opinion. Bubble Buddy was kind of a meh episode, except for the Leif Erikson Day part. The Sponge who could fly was actually a bad episode. That episode is something I'd expect to see on season 6 or beyond. That was really the only bad episode in the first three seasons. Most were amazing, some were meh, and only one was bad. I'm not judging you, though. Everyone has their own opinions.

I believe these are all fair assessments. My only point of contention is that I believe Pranks a Lot was really funny, though that's just my opinion. I also find it amusing that the very last moment of the show (excluding the movie of course) was going to be seeing SpongeBob and Patrick naked.

I thought "pranks a lot" was a really good episode. It's one of my favorite B-side episodes
I wasn’t a fan of “The Chaperone” as it seemed to insult teenagers and their experiences with proms by having them all get badly injured and are screaming in pain and horror. Also if Sandy was in that episode, she would’ve been REALLY jealous. Season one was actually during a time when her and SpongeBob were somewhat romantically interested in each other. Plus I’m not really into Pearl that much...Sandy is WAY better!
“Bubble Buddy” was alright, but I didn’t really know who to root for. I also wished that Sandy and Patrick got to meet Bubble Buddy.
“The Sponge Who Could Fly” was fine, expect for the fact that all of the background fish were absolutely horrible unlikable jerks! It’s like they thought that SpongeBob inflated his pants to help them and not to fly with the jellyfish. SHAME ON THEM!!! I’ve never been a fan of the background fish!

The Chaperone: Kinda meh, but I liked it better than Employee of the Month, and I found the dummy gags to be funny.
Neptune's Spatula: I found it kinda funny, too.
Bubble Buddy: I stopped watching this episode for a while until the post-movie episodes got bad enough for me. But it's still not as good as Big Pink Loser.
Dumped: Aside from the parts with Rex the worm and the other snails, this episode was meh.
Krabby Land: The lima beans were the best part.

For me, The Chaperone is a ScumBob episode, but it's also a guilty pleasure. I think Pearl summed it up pretty succinctly: as far as disasters go, it was pretty fun.

I think that spongebob should only have holidays because if theres one that's not for any holiday like PARTY POOPER PANTS,UGH,THE SPONGE WHO COULD FLY so they should not be aired for any speshal reason its just a speshal episode.
One episode that had a really bogus ending was Imitation Krab. Plankton installed a Penny operated self destruct mechanism into his robot purely because the biggest Deus ex macina in SpongeBob history. Was it even foreshadowed? I don't think so. The penny was, but the self-destruct mechanism itself was a complete ass pull.
And no, it wasn't funny I either.

I actually think reviewing a whole season is miles better than just reviewing or complaining over one episode because you can tackle everything. It's like looking at a comic book superhero or supervillain team because knocking one episode down is like fighting a minion. But, if you fight an entire team, you get everyone, including the leader. But, that's not enough. It's like Red Skull said, "Cut off one head. Two more shall take its place."
I agree with what you said about Pranks a Lot not having a lot of jokes in it, but as for their jerk-ish actions, they got what they deserved at the end of the episode, as strange as it was. I feel like it would have deserved the meh rating if the episode ended without Live Nude Pranksters.

Personally I disagree with you on Krabby Land and Pranks a Lot. Pranks a Lot is one of the funniest episode of the show., and SoingeBob and Patrick got their consequences I personally thought Krabby Land was just good.
