Great video, little brother has a lot of power. Would love to see him with a driver fitting.
Awesome video. That was by far one of the most informative fitting videos I’ve ever watched. Mark didn’t have any preconceived ideas about what he needed and Thomas showed his experience by changing the lie angle completely away from the static recommendation to get the best outcome for Mark.
I love new clubs but it amazes how well many older sets of irons perform. 9 years old, 2 degrees of loft difference, 8 more yards, 600 less spin... and $1200. I bought new irons last year and bought new irons this year so I'm guilty of chasing the latest & greatest equipment.
Drew and mark, incredible
Dynamic duo
Great fitting and wow your little Bro has a good looking golf swing. Thumbs up to Srixon for delivering in 9 days too !!!
As long as Thomas is involved 2nd Swing is the best on UA-cam . I really hope 2nd Swing realizes how lucky they are to have Thomas . I would Love to have him fit me just like this , I would pay a lot more money to get fitted by Thomas , I'm just not sure about driving or flying over 1000 miles to get there . Absolutely Loved this video , one of the best ever on club fitting !
WOW, Guys that was a brilliant fitting vid👍
Mark certainly has a great swing, with plenty of SPEED!🚀🚀BOOM
Great fitting from Thomas and flattening the lie angle really helped straighten out Mark's ball flight. As you started talking about Mark's wedges I immediately thought that he might need to get them bent flatter to match the Irons and it's nice to realise that I was on the same page as Thomas in that regard.
Are you guys doing a Driver fit for him as well? It would be good to get an update from Mark mid-summer to hear how he is getting on with his new Irons👍👍
Awesome!!! Bring him back for a driver fitting, get the family discount!
Haha. Maybe driver next!
That was fun. Leaving aside that I am 40 years older (almost exactly) than Mark and at least a couple of stone heavier, and at no time have I ever had his club head speed (and yes I am jealous), the static measurements for Mark were almost exactly the same as mine as I am basically the same height as him. When I was fit for my irons no one suggested I use upright irons and thank goodness for that because standard lie works perfectly.
Another good example of why the pink color code chart is absolute junk
This video was awesome! Very informative on how a fitting process is completed.
Glad it was helpful!
That was cool. I bet your brother was pumped! He strikes he ball really well.
I love these fitting videos.
thank you for the feedback! We will keep on pumping them out!
Wow that was a superb fitting I’m sure that kids playing better golf!
I can’t imagine going from Mizuno to any other iron’s. Now that I have hit my friend’s Mizuno’s, I have to get some.
Thomas is a machine! That level of knowledge was exceptional to watch put to work. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
one of the best fitting videos i have seen. And i have seen several. My favorite is TXG and then this one now. Kudos!
That was very educational. Great video 👍.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was an excellent fitting. College golf team here we come! Congratulations
Thanks for watching - Thomas
This was very cool to watch. I just got fit a couple months ago and was advised I needed my clubs bent upright based on dynamic lie, however my misses tend to go left. they didn't have an upright head to test that theory, so I plan on having them delivered to the store and hit them there to make sure the specs are still correct for my swing.
Glad it helped!
Impressive fitting. However, curious where you draw the line on matching clubs versus adjusting technique. If he spent a bit of time focusing on hitting low punch shots that start left and fade back he'd neutralise his swing path and face angle, lower his spin rate, and significantly reduce the frequency and scale of his misses. Giving him a 2 degree flat lie reinforces his need to flip his hands to square the face.
Wow, that was great viewing.
Thank you for watching!
Wish I could go..but I live in southwest WA...a bit to far to travel! Thanks for the vids...fun stuff!
Great content for a fitting. I've never been fitted, but after watching this, I believe I'm going to get fitted for my current clubs or a different set I've been looking at.
10 handicapper?! Thomas's face when he said that was hilarious and response was on point. Great fitting video though 👍
Right that was pretty much how I felt - Thomas
great fitting, good job Thomas 👍👍
Great video and great swing! Wouldn’t want to play that 10 handicapper!
Those are some crazy good numbers and consistency for 16 years of age :O Are those 7 irons he's carrying 180+ ?!?!?!? 💪
Lol, he can swing a golf club!
Loved it
Good show...
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video. Thanks guys.
Cool video! Why not try Modus 120x? Great shafts.
Great stuff, guys! Love all of your content, but this was next level. I thought Mark made a great decision not just chasing pure distance with the P770 and going with ZX7. Those are my current irons myself and I couldn’t enjoy them more.
Again, thoroughly enjoyed this video!!
No that was a huge mistake not going with the p770. From Lux to feel the accuracy of the p770 has everything you need the distance is just an added bonus. anytime you choose Srixon over TaylorMade, you're making a mistake.
The kid will eventually wish he had gone with the p770s.
@@BuffaloNickel9 lmao wow, people like you that just go based off a brand name are making the big mistake. The kid said the zx7 felt better to HIM and the numbers and dispersion were better for HIM clearly as it was displayed. To say “anytime you pick Srixon over TM is a huge mistake” is a extremely wild comment, Dont be a brand wh*re. I hope you are at least on payroll or sponsored to be on TMs nuts that much.
@@erikscott4791 well look first off you don't make bad points if someone generally plays one Club better than the other they should play what they shoot the lowest scores with no matter what it is... here's your problem buddy, I'm not on anyone's payroll because I play Titleist.
Three demo days we're at our club this year and each demo I hit the srixon and the TaylorMade and every time was more baffled than the last of why anyone would choose such an awful feeling unforgiving iron in the srixon...
I can't say I'm as good a player as I used to be but I've always had great feel for irons and have been in a pure blade or muscle back most of my 36 years, with my final two years in college as a walk on at a state school in Texas . ..
Recently I've gotten up to a 3 hdcp and rarely play more than half a dozen times per year anymore although one of those times every year is that the state amateur.
There's a reason so few professionals choose tricks on.
I'm not trying to be a jackass here but I'd gladly be a brand whore as long as that brand is not Srixon..
functionally their clubs are inferior and extremely unforgiving. Brooks kapka plays them but I doubt the gentleman above has the same game.
I've noticed many times your average golfer cannot tell from a hill of beans which club is actually best suited for their game many times even when they have trackmen data they choose the wrong Club by misreading results or cherry picking numbers to suit the club they want for example taken the longest driver over the straightest one when they are only hitting 40% of Fairways.
Some people may play better with an inferior Club in that case go right ahead I don't blame you if your trackman numbers are better with a turd on a stick than a brand new driver, so in that respect I agree.
Any chance you could ball park the delivery time you guys are seeing right now from day of order to clubs in hand? Understanding shafts, grips and iron heads availability influence that. Any manufacturer typically longer than others right now? You mentioned 9 days for your brothers set, that was way quicker than what I was expecting with what’s going on.
Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately it does vary greatly depending on the manufacturer, shafts, and grips you order, as you mentioned. The only thing we've noticed is that it seems to be the upgrade/upcharge components that are taking a little bit longer
@@2ndswing thank you very much for sharing. I appreciate the reply.
While the fitting was great information for this kid, this also showed why fittings are an issue. "We only have an hour" Whose fault is that? These people pay a lot of money, not only for the clubs, but for the fitting. A fitting should be a fitting and not on time constraints. How do we not know a Calloway or Cobra would have suited him better? I think these fitting facilities should be at minimum (2) 1-hr sessions. The first hour should be testing all available iron heads. 2nd hour/session should be about dialing in the top 3 and see, truly which head/shaft combo works best. Your fitter Thomas is knowledgable, but trying to squeeze so much stuff into an hour is just unrealistic and money envy.
Completely disagree. If a fitting takes more than an hour the fitter is bad at their job or the buyer isn’t serious and is wasting everyone’s time or both.
Why just two sessions? Why not five or ten?
You have fitted him into an iron that spin 5400. A little low for control
If he was hitting it left, how does a flatter lie angle straighten the flight? For a righty, shouldn’t it go further left?
Thanks for watching! For a right handed player, an upright lie angle will slightly close the clubface, and a flatter lie angle will slightly open the clubface
@@2ndswing I have looked at this before and always thought of it in the opposite way. Thanks for the explanation.
Does the budget for fitted clubs have to be a lot more than just buying off the rack. I can’t afford custom everything
Absolutely not - we will custom fit used clubs as well!
I’m disappointed that Tom didn’t bother to have Mark try the P770 bent 1* flat. The P770 was hotter, and the lie seemed to be the only reason the Srixon’s dispersion was better.
It also doesn’t make sense since he had the kid try a 2* flat Srixon… and then pushed him into ordering that setup when his dispersion was objectively worse with it.
did he pick the MP-54 or is that his club or he was given that for testing?
He had those when he came in they were hand me downs
I'm a 10 too, but I'm nowhere as consistent as this kid. Lol
hahaha I was wondering, why are those people hovering around and being nosy, now I know its family lol
Haha! the whole crew showed up!
@@2ndswing Yeah that is a bit of a drive, so might as well get the whole family out there and get to visit you!
I’m actually surprised it’s not x100
Why wouldn’t anybody also try the Ping irons (one of the best irons in the market)?
Wow, 16 years old and 5' 10" swinging a 7 iron 92 mph
I think his handicap will be coming down fast. Thank you for watching - Thomas
Oh to be young and limber lol.
Thanks for watching - Thomas
10 handicap lol
