Mirage block is underrated and undervalued. So many amazing cards that are open to anyone, old and new to Reserved List. With prices as they are, I am definitely going to be getting more cards from this block 🌴
Very nice! What kind of functionality or decks do you ever see this card going into or being useful? Dwarves have certainly stepped up their game since this cards release, but mountainwalk? Relying on the opponent to have basic mountains for this card to be viable?
@@aldennis123 Urborg and Yavimaya both add basic land subtypes. Eventually Wizards could complete the cycle. That would be a buff to all landwalk abilities.
I agree. I think people are going to be a little shocked when some of these "junk" reserve list cards start creeping up over the $10 mark. I also think more people are going to be holding instead of trying to flip.
Every block from that era is fantastic. The only thing that may stall it if only temporarily is the much higher print runs on some of the blocks (compared to 93/94). It's estimated there are a lotta mirage but who knows for visions and weatherlight 🤷

Love the mirage block RL cards! Picked up my NM Anvil a few days ago for $44 USD. Kept watching it drop and drop and just couldn’t resist at that price point. Next up Rofellos if he keeps dropping.

One card I’m slowly buying copies of is Copy Artifact. You can pick up copies for $60-$70 when this was selling for $150+ at one point. Plus, with Brothers War coming out I’m sure there will be some juicy new artifacts to copy. I can realistically see this card back at that $150-$200 range around the same time Brothers War drops
Just dropped some cash on a playset of Anvils... Always LP, since I want nice cards that I'm not afraid to shuffle. I hate slabbing and grading. The cards were made to be played with not stuck in some vault.
Awesome list of sweet old cards! I don't believe I ever used Liege, but wore out RotM! And if being a fan of Army of Darkness is wrong I don't ever wanna be right. Also Big Macs are $8 holy smokes. I haven't eaten at McDs in quite some time. Ouch.

True story - my brother broke the plastic crotch off a prototype Zartan during a session LOL

Got 8-9 copies of Breathstealers Crypt for a UB built its just silly. Its easy game control because you always see what everyone else has. Dont have any Anvils of Bogardan. Things just havent worked out. Well of Knowledge I have 2-3 but never really went after it as I never saw a point in having it in the deck when I had a dozen other ways to card draw. Liege of Hallows... narrow and specific. Its good, and abuseable, if you change the creature type... See Artificial Evolution...with some Necroduality. But its a lot of build up. Retribution of the Meek. Solid card, have 4-6 of them. But I am more of a Wrath EVERYTHING sort of person.
Mirage is one of my favorites for these niche effect cards that also happen to be relatively cheap for being on the RL. A while back I bought a big batch of Mirage bulk from my LGS and came across so many of these. Torn between making janky decks and just letting them sit. LOL.
Leige of hollows fits very well in my xyris wheels deck. Pretty nice with doubling season/parallel lives, impact tremors/purphuros/terror of the peaks with beast master ascension and/or ogre battledriver
liege for meren deck shenanigans (if printed today that effect would end with “exile liege of hollows.””) curious to try anvil in enchantress, has more upside than thought vessel, i can bin something every turn and that hits everyone’s hand.
Always for NM, just when you just care for playing than any "readable" card is good enough. But for anything else, sure. NM is barely good enough, best is always pack fresh!
Have you heard about Spellfire? A new TCG which will release next year with App support where you can level your cards :) What do you think about that? Will other TCG/CCGs adapt?
Spent about 500$ 4 years ago on bulk reservelist card didnt buy anything over 5$. At this point they sit in a binder in a box and wont be looked at or cared aboit for another 10 years. Im done investing ive made enough already.
Graded is fine if that is what you like to collect, but each time a card is graded there is one less for us to play with, I own several graded cards myself

What is going on with Repentant Blacksmith from ARN? Is there one person buying them all up (this started the end of Oct). And every few weeks after the market replenishes itself, it gets wiped our again.

@@joshmusclow8819 People can be really picky! NM to me is basically NO flaws. LP may have minor scuffs at edges there is a great view of them from some TCG style websites
