@@roryreid3124 You do realize that some boy bands do play instruments right? In the group Backstreet Boys: Kevin plays piano/keyboard and drums, Nick plays drums and guitar, AJ plays drums, Brian plays guitar, and Howie can play the guitar. In the group NKOTB: Joey and Jordan can both play the piano. I LOVE 80's, 90's music. I grew up in the 70's and graduated high school in the early 1980's. There's nothing wrong with loving boy bands. From actual research instead of childhood rumors. "The band ZZ Top's name came from an idea by guitarist and lead singer Billy Gibbons. Gibbons noticed that many performers' names used initials while living in a small apartment with concert posters. He was particularly inspired by blues legends B.B. King and Z.Z. Hill, and considered combining their initials into "ZZ King". However, he thought that was too similar to the original name, and eventually came up with "ZZ Top" as a way to signify "reaching the pinnacle" of their journey. "
A little trivia for those who do not know it, ZZ Top did the same spinning of the guitar and bass in the movie Back to the Future Part III ... using acoustics since the movie was set before electricity.
When they were filming the Festival, a piece of equipment broke. While they were waiting someone asked ZZ Top to sing a song, After AN HOUR of performing, the singer asked if the equipment got fixed, the Director said yes.....

These guys were absolutely not afraid to change their sound. They were always unmistakably ZZ Top. And would have a song or two, at least, that goes back to their roots. Like "My Head's In Mississippi" from 1990.

Loudest concert I ever attended...ZZ Top 1990 at ARCO Arena in Sacramento. OMG. My ears are still ringing to this day. Amazing how much sound 3 guys can make...
This is how a ragged trio of Texans conquered MTV during the synth pop period; great music and great videos. Unlike a lot of hard-core ZZ top fans, I love their 80's stuff. You still have to listen to La Grange, Jesus Just Left Chicago, or Blue Jean Blues to hear their true genius. Gotsta get paid is also as cool as it gets. They teamed up with Rick Rubin and did a song based on the 90's rap song "25 lighters". I don't know the song because the only rap I really do is rap/jazz fusion; Digable Planets, or Us3.
ZZ has always been in my top 3 favorite groups. I've seen lots of their concerts with the first one being in the mid 70s. Their music never gets old. There isn't one single song they've ever done that I don't like. That's saying alot! Thanks for you reaction!
The name (Zig Zags and Tops rolling papers) is an urban (suburban?) legend. Reverend Billy himself said it was named after their hero of the Blues ZZ Hill. ZZ Top is probably my all-time favorite band. They got funk, soul, the controlled chaos of distorted guitars and pinched harmonics-sublime. And that red ‘34 Ford was in many of my fantasies as a teenager lol
This is when MTV actually played music videos. Stuff through the 80’s was stellar. I watched the very first episode of MTV sitting on the couch with my best friend. The rocket blasted off every hour, and that’s pretty much how we told time. Everything was new and amazing. Yes, I’m old, but I’m glad my music era was 80’s & early 90’s.
Man I’ll never stop loving hearing those dudes play. I grew up playing around in a shop where they built and painted show cars and they constantly blasted ZZ Top. 🤟
ZZ top came into the industry like. So we're gonna look like Wizards with guitar's, but we're gonna sing like Angels! 😂 Let them wrap their brains around this!
The first time I saw them on TV, I couldn't figure out why they weren't showing the rest of the band. I didn't realize 3 people could make that much Music.
I was the same way when I first saw them on TV. Kept trying to find the rest of their band and the day that I finally realized that the three of them was the whole d*mn band, it totally blew me away!
I went to my first ever concert when I was 16. It was a ZZ Top/Doobie Bros concert. I didn't know either band, but left a fan of both! The music was amazing! What the guys do in this video, spinning their guitars at the same time and such, they did live as well. It's a concert that set the bar high for all concerts after that! (RIP Dusty!)
I used to live next door to the base player for ZZ Top dusty Hill, The original name of the band was moving sit was a 5 piece band and they cut it down to 3 members, Right out of Pasadena Texas
Ironically the drummer Frank beard is the only member that didn't have a beard, Gillette razors offered a million dollars a piece if they use their razors to shave and they refused
You gotta keep in mind, This was at a time when Mtv just launched, so artists felt like they needed to have the best video out there for the music. Same as content creators feeling like they're next video has to raise the bar! No different. Platforms changed but goals stayed the same.
At this time , ZZ Top were headlining at Donington Monsters of Rock in UK , a sunny Sunday evening , drinking scrumpy cider with some Hells Angels ( no idea ) , they flew the Eliminator hot Rod about 200 ft above the crowd , slung under a chinook helicopter. Those were the days !
My first concert was Journey at 17 and my second at 18 was ZZ Top. Two of the BEST concerts ever. ZZ Top played for a really long time, more than anyone else I saw.
They became pop stars in the 80s, but the quality of their music (like this) took a huge hit. Check out their 70s stuff, albums like "Tres Hombres" or "Fandango." That was peak ZZ Top.
ZZ Top was on the bill for a free military concert at Camp Pendleton. My platoon got tasked with setting up the stage, sound, lights, etc. for the promoter. We all got crew passes, and were able to hang out wherever we wanted before, and during the concert. I gave one to my wife, who loves ZZ Top. She got her own personal concert! She was chilling in front of the stage when they came out to do their sound checks, but hey ran through heir whole set. Later, she ran into Billy in the green room area, and got his autograph and a bunch of pictures with him. It was her first concert, and will probably be her best.
If you haven’t done their song La Grange yet… it’s gotta be next! 🙏🏼 It’s a vibe & we used to put it on in my 1st apartment & dance around w/ all the friends! 😂 It’s a GREAT one!! ❤

I saw ZZ Top in concert after Dusty died. He's the lead on legs. As tribute they used his vocals from his last show while they played. Fantastic concert
Zz Top formed in 1969 in Texas as a blues/ rock band. Cpl fun facts: Jimi Hendrix was a big fan of Bill Gibbons' guitar playing and that is something. Everyone told them if they wanna make it in the music industry they have to go to New York. To which they said " no, we are staying right here in Houston". They became really popular in the 80s with the introduction of the Car, storytelling videos and the Album ELIMINATOR. To hear their more blues and raw stuff, check out " Tush" as many mentioned, and " Jesus just left Chicago". Love, love your reactions. And mostly your commentary instead of just watching. Keep up the great entertainement.
Oh, fun fact, the girl in this video is actually Jenna Elfman! She’s been a lot of TV shows and movies. You might want to check it out. It’s hilarious. Also, ZZ Top is known for not taking any spit from anybody. They were in a bar one time and had some girls dancing on the pool table, and the owner didn’t like it and ZZ Top slid him some money and said don’t worry about your pool table and they gave him enough money to buy the table and then some to shut him up. I remember one year I didn’t have the money to get tickets and I was really upset. I wanted to go to their concert and I ended up being drug into town and downtown Columbus for a play that was being put on by the hospital and so we were crossing the street and what would you know… The hotel is on the backside of the theater and out walk ZZ Top getting into the tour bus. I could just stand there and point and say that ZZ Top that’s ZZ Top. Sadly, I was the only one that knew who they were. I was with older folks. They were only about 30 feet away from me. It was hilarious.
ZZ Top ive been a fan since high school in the 70's...i just aged myself but a proud 70's girl right here...we lived it! No cameras in our faces & oh boy did we get away with ALOT..but ill tell ya when those street lights came on we ALL hauled ass home for dinner! We had to stay outside & we all drank from a garden hose if we got thirsty!
I think you have to check out their song Gotsta Get Paid. It's more recent. It has a little more of a hip hop influence. I think Rick Rubin was the producer. People don't love it but I think it's cool. Especially to see the difference in style that 30 years can make.

The fuzzy guitars used to hang in the Dallas Hard Rock Cafe, before it closed. They were gifted from the band to HRC specifically to be in Dallas. Always cool to see on a visit there. Not sure where they are now.
65 Gen X er here. They are legends. They also have their very own style . Love em. Check out some recent appearance of a feat. Song with the main guitarist. All masters. The boys from Texas. Welcome to cinema and a song. The Real MTV generation. When it started and ran the industry.
I can't speak (write_ for anyone else but me, but, yes, I loved ZZ Tops videos from this era. Reminds me of mild salsa: innocent, but with a very mild kick. This time frame when MTV was the place you wanted to be, especially after classes were over for the day from college.

Waited on Billy and Dusty years ago. Very nice men. RIP Dusty
Trust me the way you feel about it for seeing at your first time is the way we felt about it when we seen ZZ Top for the first time.
ZZ top came into the industry like. So we're gonna look like Wizards with guitar's, but we're gonna sing like Angels! 😂 Let them wrap their brains around this!
I saw ZZTop in Atlanta Ga., 2 times, Fist time concert was Afterburner and it was awesome
"Ladies love ZZtop"
Can't wait to see if that still holds up after listening to "tube snake boogie" or "pearl necklace".😂😅
It does. Ladies love ZZ Top.
Best concert I ever went to. Fourth of July, 1976. Memphis.
Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Blue Oyster Cult, and The Outlaws
Phenomenal 😊
That little ol’ band from Texas 🔥❤
🔥🤘🏽🔥💪🏽🇨🇱
I used to live next door to the base player for ZZ Top dusty Hill, The original name of the band was moving sit was a 5 piece band and they cut it down to 3 members, Right out of Pasadena Texas
Ironically the drummer Frank beard is the only member that didn't have a beard, Gillette razors offered a million dollars a piece if they use their razors to shave and they refused
I got to see them on tour at Richfield Clliseum July 23, 1994. My birthday is July 31, so it was a birthday present to see them. Amazing concert,
I had the pleasure of going to see ZZ Top live a couple of years ago in Manchester, it was ELECTRIC. Nothing better than hearing them live.
You gotta keep in mind, This was at a time when Mtv just launched, so artists felt like they needed to have the best video out there for the music.
Same as content creators feeling like they're next video has to raise the bar! No different. Platforms changed but goals stayed the same.
As you know, this band is special. Try playing some of their older stuff. Lots of blues influence, and lots of great songs.
I am a woman and I love ZZ Top and their videos !!!!!!!! The Magic Red Ride !!! Glad you're enjoying them BP !!
The Fairy Groovefathers are back!
My first concert was Journey at 17 and my second at 18 was ZZ Top. Two of the BEST concerts ever. ZZ Top played for a really long time, more than anyone else I saw.
I Need You Tonight by ZZ Top awesome drumming in this song 🔥😎
They became pop stars in the 80s, but the quality of their music (like this) took a huge hit. Check out their 70s stuff, albums like "Tres Hombres" or "Fandango." That was peak ZZ Top.
Ironic how the only member of the band that don’t have a beard is the drummer and his last name is Beard.
ZZ Top .. the all time favorite music video on MTV !!! Yes , saw these guys in concert too . AMAZING
Saw your face light up when the girls 1st got out the car! Us 80's chicks knew how dress!
Aqua Net to the rescue
I second this request!! 🙌🙏
Boy this brought back some memories! I haven't heard this song in forever! ZZTop id Great! Your supporters are going to have your playlists filled to the top with all these great older songs! LOL
Greatest little band from Texas!!. Legendary.. Sharp Dressed Man, LaGrange, Jesus just Chicago,... etc etc. Legs was more of a fun song.. These dudes never had a bad song. Do a great cover of House of Rising Sun
💪🏽🇨🇱
I saw ZZ Top in concert after Dusty died. He's the lead on legs. As tribute they used his vocals from his last show while they played.
Fantastic concert
Waitin For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago
Jenna Elfman??
The same Jenna Elfman who played one of the title characters in the sitcom "Dharma & Greg"????
the bullied sales girl in this video is Wendy Frazier, Jenna Elfman toured with ZZ Top as one of the onstage "Legs" girls
@@eurofritz4617 ok, but still, was that the same Jenna Elfman co co-starred in "Dharma & Greg"??
@@karlsmith2570 yes. She was one of the ZZ Top girls. Look it up. Kind of a cool story
@@eurofritz4617 yes and she was one of the girls in the video
ZZ Top ive been a fan since high school in the 70's...i just aged myself but a proud 70's girl right here...we lived it! No cameras in our faces & oh boy did we get away with ALOT..but ill tell ya when those street lights came on we ALL hauled ass home for dinner! We had to stay outside & we all drank from a garden hose if we got thirsty!
Can you do LaGrange next it's crazy man😂😂😂😂😂
My husband was a drummer for a local band for 13 years. That was his favorite song to play ❤
ZZ Top Blue jean blues...gotta hear it. And Kiss Unplugged "I still love you"...great videos!
I love ZZ Top please do ZZ Top Pear Necklace
I saw them in the 1980s. Still one of my favorite bands.
I think you have to check out their song Gotsta Get Paid. It's more recent. It has a little more of a hip hop influence. I think Rick Rubin was the producer. People don't love it but I think it's cool. Especially to see the difference in style that 30 years can make.
ZZ Top, The best little band from Texas. From my town, Houston, TX!!
Love me some ZZ Top!! Lagrange is my 1 favorite sone of all time!! I lose my mind every time I hear it!!😎
Saw them 3x's. The Recycler tour with the stage made to look like a junkyard was fuckin awesome and my fave of the 3. 1990. One of the greatest 3 piece bands to ever do it. RIP Dusty 🤘😎
Yes, girls do love this song. I love all of their songs, especially the earlier stuff from the 70s, into the early 80s. I love Legs, too, from ‘84 or ‘85. I was going to g into 12th grade. They are awesome. That Lil’ Lo Band from Texas.
I saw them in the 80s. Great band. So many great songs.
I can't speak (write_ for anyone else but me, but, yes, I loved ZZ Tops videos from this era. Reminds me of mild salsa: innocent, but with a very mild kick. This time frame when MTV was the place you wanted to be, especially after classes were over for the day from college.
Saw ZZ Top 4 times. Loved watching them dance on stage
Woodrow .. Dallas Texas, Dusty Hill is a fellow high school alum, a WILDCAT.... A Little Band From Texas
