Dude, you don't even need to listen to these guys with 9 subs. Shit posters will always shit post. Just keep doing you, you will never get rid of shit posters. All he is trying to do is piggy back off of your subscribers. And now because you made this video he will probably get hundreds of subs from this, even though he's an ass. So you just helped him out.

Had a welding instructor stop by the shop a while back. He was extolling the virtues of using the correct size of tungsten. After he had complimented me on the aluminum welding he saw me doing I told him I only used 1/8" tungsten, his expression of surprise/disbelief was entertaining! We have Fronius and Everlast in the shop and all I can say is they both weld thick and thin and pretty if the person holding the torch knows what he is doing. I enjoyed your video!

What a load of shit, if you are good at something, false humility is just as bad as arrogance, it's all in how you present it, I'm a journeyman painter, and I'm never going to tell someone something like "Oh I kinda know what I'm doing", that's as good a way to lose contracts as telling people that you are the best that's ever been.
Take proper pride in your abilities, and don't oversell.

Fay Butler once showed me how to grind down the 1st inch or so of tungsten to fool it into thinking it was .090 instead of 3/32. I never thought it would work, but he was spot on.
My chassis fab students would always ask if I could weld 2 beer cans together. I would tell them that if I ever needed 2 welded beer cans on a race car, I could certainly figure it out....

what's wrong with more people getting into welding? Almost every hobbyist I know has cheap Chinese tools in their garage. I didn't start out with Miller welders, and made in the USA machine tools and tooling, it took me nearly 50 years of buying and horse trading to get where I am now. I'm nearly 70 and 100% welcome every new welder and machinist who wants to learn new life skills.
I watched the other vid, and what I took from it was someone saying "this is how I do it..."

    • @FPSRepair
      @FPSRepair 2 місяці тому +1

There's nothing wrong with more people getting into welding, and the cheap machines have certainly made it more attainable. The problem is to do with Dunning-Kruger.
It used to be just the dumb kid, fresh out of school, telling journeymen on the jobsite that they're doing it wrong because his "welding instructor said..." Now it's every dork with a cheap welder in his garage at home, six months hot gluing some shit together, telling actual professionals they're doing it wrong. It's absurd, and my point was that trying to fight them is like "pissing into a hurricane." But the content is funny, I enjoy it, and I hope he doesn't get burned out by all the noise.
"Do you remember before the Internet, when people thought the cause of stupidity was the lack of access to information? Yea...it wasn't that."

I’m retired now, but as an old time vocational school welding instructor, if you’re going to give any type of instructional advice, you shouldn’t be attempting any welding procedure with a quart can of alcohol about a foot away! UNBELIEVABLE!! Rock on,Aaron….

I learned the hard way, not aluminum, but TIG on steel to always use the largest diameter tungsten possible, it gets the most energy to where you want it (a big deal when hanging the tungsten out in a hole). The same thing transferred to microwelding, the larger diameter always helped. We used to do some pretty intricate stuff on an old Miller Syncrowave 250 with magnifiers.

I'm a 43 year old TIG welder, and I have carpal tunnel now, and it really sucks. resting your wrists on the edge of a table or any corner is bad in the long term....at least the middle of your wrist where all the nerves run through. need some padding there if you have to do it like that to be steady. I have an Everlast 185DV TIG machine, and I believe it goes down to 5 amps if I remember correctly.

You know i only worked 4 years in a machine shop / fabrication shop and thing i learned is that details like these almost doesnt matter if you have good technique and can setup the machine close enough, you can weld anything. I dont like when people geek out over mundane things, when simple does the job just good as if not better. I welded pressurised vessels and back than i was quite a noobie and boss gave me a cut off from the material and said. Take the white tungsten set it to 110a AC and then if its not good fiddle with it a little. Did as he said, i put a random frequency that felt correct, weld was completely fine.

@6061 How ironic, I had just opened a bag of Indiana Popcorn Kettle Corn when I hit play. This was Funny AF! When you spit out your popcorn during the Bullsh*t comment, I damn near choked on mine from laughing so hard.
This is one of your Best Videos yet, (and they’re all great) I laughed from beginning to end and as usual was learning new stuff the entire time.
    Keep on Truckin’ Aaron!

The guy is lucky it was welding knowledge and skill and not a gun fight because they'd be digging a hole for him right now. lol Thanks for the comedy this morning, it was a great start to my day.

Must be nice having an AC TIG welder, I bought the Vulcan Omni pro 220 and it does everything so nicely except the only aluminum welding I can do is with the spool gun
