Looks great! Inspires me to modify one or two of my knives. Possible idea for getting a better transfer into the screws: sand the paint off the clip so you have a better contact. Appreciate you sharing this video 👍
For an easy stone wash get some Tupperware or plastic container with a lid and put some stones and your project inside, tape it closed and put it in a backpack then toss it in a dryer with no heat after about an hour you should have an awesome stone wash finish
The stonewash and imperfections make it look vintage and it looks amazing. Also hope you contacted crkt and got a replacement blade stop because most companies send parts like that for free
Steve Kennedy well, since he doesn’t answer. I’ve seen people using 4 parts distilled water and 1 part muriatic acid....some also add copper sulfate(not really needed, but may help)
Great video. You should put the screws on a stove plate on high for a short time (keep your eye on it) chuck it in water straight after. I did it with one of my spydercos and it rocks. Keep up the great work!!!
Mike I put my media along with the scale in an old plastic wide mouth container, then put that in an old padded bag, then put it in the dryer. Good results
I gotta know, did you find your stopper piece? I know it's three years later... but if you need the specs on that piece, lemme know and I can measure the one I have and try and make you one. 👌🏾🤙🏾
Great job and congrats on venturing out to do your own thing to your knife. I'm sure that each one you do builds your confidence and adds to your ideas. BTW, did you look in your Gatorade bottle with the steel balls to look for your stop pin?
The handle is stainless steel right? I was wondering if the muriatic acid you used on the handles was mixed with something else or just straight muriatic?
I mixed 50/50 muriatic acid with distilled water, I think with the next one im gonna use food coloring with the distilled water, I wonder if I can get cool shades of copper
@@jgcearley yes and no, I got really cool colors with the distilled water, but the moment the acid touched the food color'd water, it killed the food coloring, I have a video of it I'll be posting soon, been busy with work to finish editing the new knife video
Thank you guys for all your comments and I'll get the all the questions as well. I really appreciate you checking out the channel. I figure I would try a hard push on the social media thing since I've never fully dived into it, trying to finally edit all my videos and work 2 jobs has been difficult, I did start an Instagram page where each day or mostly everyday I'm doing a cool pocket dump pic of the different knives I'm using that day. Yes it will need to be resharpened, specially after the tumbler, but the acid alone will kill the blade, its for cosmetic/fun, For me, I just like to change things, draw on things, modify things, makes it feel more of my own
Distilled water and muriatic acid. Just be careful using this around tools or other metals, it will rust everything around it or close to it, or in the same room. I can't remember but I believe I did a 50/50 mix in glass containers
Wow, that's a straightforward process ! I want to do this to my Pilar now! Thanks !
27:20 omg, just find the right diameter drill bit, cut it to length and there's your stop pin, that simple
The drill tumbler is borderline genius
That came out great. Especially for your second try. Keep on keepin on, brother. 🤙🏾
😂the "SOUNDTRACK" is horrendous. Oh thank God😂17:55 it just stopped
Thats realy cool. The contrast betewen the coper and other stuff is realy cool.

Thankyou, I want to keep trying different mediums and see how they come out, maybe like bunring wood or hot coals
What mixture did you use in the solution for electroplating?
Maybe you said it but I didn’t catch it
Yeah what was the mixture man?
Thanks, nice vid. What acid did you use for the copper wash?
your stone wash is amazing tho, big scratches all the way
What’s it the liquid with the copper and blade?
Steve Kennedy well, since he doesn’t answer. I’ve seen people using 4 parts distilled water and 1 part muriatic acid....some also add copper sulfate(not really needed, but may help)
Any time you etch or plate you should nail polish three areas where theres metal to metal contacts. Ie. Bearings and washers.
24:21 the brightside is it'll make a good straight razor.

Mikejenofsky, what did you use for the solution????
Love it. Love this knife as well. Has to be the blade. I’m into those tonto type blades
one helluva music mix 👍🏼
The knife looks great!
What was the solution you used for copper plating?
So much for the I'll get back to all the later comments

Does this diminish the steel in any way?
Max1Million no, if the treatment is done correctly
Thanks for the upload. What’s the model of the Helly Tec OTF you have there? Thx👊🏼
hi! in what liquid was the blade poisoned
😂 i would have knocked over the acid... cool video exact knife i was thinking of modifying
Sweet work looks amazing

I just got a pilar large 5315 at Lowe's for $22 and it came with bearings I have yet to see this configuration anywhere else
We all gota go through life with the nuts were given ambiguous as ot may be😂☮️22:16
The handle is stainless steel right? I was wondering if the muriatic acid you used on the handles was mixed with something else or just straight muriatic?
What’s the liquid that there dipped in?
Muriotic acid
How did it hold up? Would love to copper plate the liners of my knife
Looks really cool but I feel like tumbling your handles with lead pellets isn’t a very good idea lmao
Looks good. What was that liquid you diped it in when you was copper plating it?

Why do this? Will it affect the steel? Sharpness?
Yes it will need to be resharpened, specially after the tumbler, but the acid alone will kill the blade, its for cosmetic/fun,

So when you stone washed you just did rocks , bbs , pennies and Ed 40 ? The knife looks so good bro .
Wd 40.
Nice house. You need some proper tools now. Take it to next level. Nice looking knife
It’s awesome!
It looks great! I’d definitely buy one off you if given the chance haha
I don't see why you couldn't, if I purchased the knife and customized it then sent it out I'm sure that could work
Thanks for this video
I’m going to do he same exact thing to mine and use your video as a guide
Awesome, that's really cool to hear, the next knife will be done with dyed acid
@@mikejenofsky What solution did you use for the copperplating?
Nuts? I see screws. I've never seen nuts on a knife before.
background music is hella annoying
Cool as F
needs more cow bell and a blade stop pin , eh ? _ T4S _
Cut out a piece of your copper tube shape it to fit.. Disregard this is an old vid..
Blame the cat. Always blame the cat.
Wanna sel me this lol
Id be more than happy to make you one if your seriously interested
@@mikejenofsky in serious lol. I got a few pilars. I could send you mine
