"The wheel doesn't need cotton"... someone give a Nobel prize to this luthier!!!
As a beginner gurdy player I'm always struggling with cotton...
I discovered this instrument through you, It is such a beautiful and interesting instrument. I can't wait to get one someday and learn. Thank you!
Skip the one day and say next week or something. Make everything concrete makes it easier to commit.
theres a guy rob scallon who messed around with 2 different types of hurdy gurdys
Ya like never cuz the price
Yeah, same here. 💕
"A revolution for the gurdy community" - yeah, I see what you did there. :-D
The sound of the sympathetic pickups is wonderful! Has a beautiful etherial sound that I'd love to hear featured in a song
after this video the waiting list for Wolfgang gurdy probably tripled ;-)
Thanks for the mixing demo with the varying pickup/mic combos, that was unique and fascinating
That thing is a beauty
So is that gurdy.
Do you want to say Patty? Categoricaly!
spongebob: wow padrick. how much do you think that will cost?
Padrick: at least three!
spongebob: wow...
Love The Green!
I never realized how significant a difference the sympathetic strings make! It sounds like magic!
I talked to Wolfgang for this model like a month ago, it sounds great!
I love the multiple microphones this has, you can really bring out even more unique sounds now. The fact that it's carbon fibre adds its own flavor to the sound.
Found you after listening to Eluveitie. I had no idea such an instrument existed. Humans make the coolest things sometimes!
I hate you , someone else to check out / follow~
Lovely! Sounds amazing, all the different variations in tone and grit . . . beautiful! I'm glad you've recovered from your injury, as well.
I had one of Wolfgangs carbon gurdys in my hand for a very short time and listened to it for a bit longer and I totally understand what you are enthusiastic about. It's so awesome. Okay, and yours seems to be extra nice. I definitely dream of buying one of them babies in future years. Enjoy - and thanx for the video!
Also, I LOVE your dress. Wow! What a compliment to that beautiful instrument~
Sounds wonderful, hope you are enjoying it
Brilliant, playing the different ways with the different pickups! Learned very much from this vid, thanks, Patty!
Wow Patty, what an amazing instrument, can't wait to see the wonders you produce with it.
Quel magnifique instrument ! merci de nous l'avoir présenté avec un tel brio !!
This one does sound extra lovely! 😍
That's beautiful Patty!!! Sounds great.
It's interesting to see what's possible right now. I really like the sound, so good choice!
That's a wonderful instrument. I love the idea of the moveable wheel
It is so great to see you so excited!
Beautiful instrument!
That's so amazing. You have so many different sounds out of the same instrument.
It's beautiful and sounds so (there's no words to adequately describe) heavenly.
Got the feeling someone's horizon just broadened.
Looking forward to what you're going to do with this jewel.
Sympathetic pickup is awesome. I want one!
Wow, the sound is just heavenly!!
It's so hauntingly beautiful, like you fair miss patty.
wow quite the enchanting sound when all you get is the sympathetic pickups
I gotta say, beside from being absolutely stunning looking this gurdy sounds bloody mint.
Wow Patty, I love it ! Its like an ovation guitar!

"You guys know my smuggling skills" 🤣🤣 you cracked me up. I love your work btw, thanks for being on this world!
"Is that a gurdy in your pocket or, erm..."
I'm really glad I found your videos. Your music, and the videos you did explaining the gurdy gave me the confidence to purchase my own. The luthier should be shipping it to me by February. I'm so excited!!
That is a beautiful instrument. Well crafted. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ok, I have never heard of one of these before, but after failing terribly at the violin, I need one of these beauties! This thing is amazing!
Note to self for the future.
Oh my! I should really start saving up for a real gurdy... This looks like a lovely piece of craftsmanship...
Amo el Gurdy, Gracias a ti.

"Na!"-So the German comes out! Looking forward to more beautiful music.
Beautiful!
My Oh My! You seem very excited about this instrument! I imagine it is not any cheaper, but I know those who want one will find a way to get one! I am glad your such an advocate for this amazing instrument! Keep going, be safe out there and have a lovely day.
WOW! UNBELIEVABLE DEPTH AND BREATH OF TONE.
it blowed my mind! it's incredible!
It rings so beautifully
I love I fond you the gurdy never herd it before 1 year in and addicted thanks for turning me on to new music
I love that color of green, very nice gurdy!
Thanks for all the info Patty! Great video :D
It is great to hear a maker taking the instrument forward.
Oh my god !!! the sympathic pickup makes such a weird and mysterious sound! it's so nice
Wow, so many sound possibilities now ! Now you can let your imagination go !
Really cool demonstration.
That is very versatile and has a large range !
What a lovely sound
Cool Patty love the new gurdy 😋😋😋🌹🌹🌹🌹
I love it, and like that it sounds akin to a violin. It's cool as a second Gurdy to play other types of pieces
Sweet machine. Congrats!
those sympathetic strings add an amazing depth to the sound. And when you set it to just play the sympathetic strings through the output it sounds a LOT like a horn section in the mid and low end and almost like bells at the high end.
I never been interested in playing the gurdy, but if I ever get a gurdy like that I'd likely go! I love how you can make it sound like a violin! :D
Love the sounds these things make. Wish I had the talent to play one.
the sympathetics alone sound really eery and beautiful
Definitely different from your previous ones. Way cool.
Those sympathetic pick ups are enchanting
Looks so simple, yet so complex to play.
So now you have output option overload. Can’t wait to hear what you do with it. Your regular gurdy playing is amazing.
This is the most gorgeous sounding hurdy-gurdy I've ever heard. Sounds like uilleann pipes.
I just found out about this instrument and am totally intrigued. It can play so many different sounds. Some sound like middle eastern stuff, others sound Irish and some sound ghostly form a scary movie. Very versatile.
Cool playing!
Thats a pretty interesting instrument, i played sax for 8 years in school(middle, high) . Cool intrument, love your songs. 😁
wow!!! I don’t know why I am more surprised by a unique instrument or a beautiful girl. but the video is super!
I Love this vídeos Patty 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤘🏻
Cool 😎
Thank you Patty, as always informative and charming. I would have liked to hear one of your songs though.
Oh honey, this is beatiful 🥰
Как же хорошо звучит отличный инструмент в умелых руках талантливого музыканта. Вы великолепно играете и поёте, и красавица к то же! :)
This is one beautiful gurdy!!! I also noticed that it's made for pressing the keys with the left hand. I would prefer the opposite and will get one when I manage to find one.
Just a thought. But all those tonal options could make for some interesting and may be creepy music. Plus, throw in to foot pedals for distortion, reverb and delay, you could make some incredible music.
Check the band France, they dobm exactly that
Suena increíble, excelente tu trabajo y el de tu equipo
What a masterpiece
Hello Patty from Ecuador 🇪🇨 your violin is a beautiful instrument I like your music and videos
What an adorable mechanical violin (and an adorable girl).
Yes! Add this to my list of cool instruments I can't afford to buy...
like others commenting, i really listened to this instrument from watching your videos. love it and hope to get one in the future. also downloaded your bands EP....LOVE IT EVEN MORE!!!!! great music!!!!
Gorgeous
I think ever since ive seen a couple of your videos ive been kinda hooked on the hurdy gurdy but ofcourse i would try to save up money and also try to find shops or artists. I would so truly love to practise and master this phenomenally odd yet amazing instrument.
Enjoy your new hurdy-gurdy. It´s sounds soo nice!
How fast does it go from 0 to 100kph?
faster than the fastest gun in the west
It's a hot rod! It's absolutely beautiful!
5.41 Planck units of time...
It does the kessel run in little over 12 parsecs
@@gilbycoyote that is hard to believe with those short stubby legs! Amazing!
That Hurdy is cool af! And so are you! 😗
I love this and want one. Would b cool to use the sympathetic pick ups for ghostly feels
Yes, a cover for the wheel is handy for playing live. Especially in a venue where you play from within a cage and the crowd throws beer bottles at you as shown in The Blue Brothers movie.
I've been trying to play catch up on your vids! This new Gurdy is really awesome, as a guitar player though I can't help but to wonder what kinds of crazy sounds and noises you could get by hooking up guitar effect pedals to this. With all the electronics in this gurdy you could really fall down the rabbit hole with effect pedals. Delays, vibrato, reverb, FUZZ!! Please, please, please explore this one day and make a video!
The price of 10 gurdies like that = the price of my house.
A bit as my harp teacher used to say: a classical harp costs more than a car, a little bit less than a house :-)
I think wire harps are a bit cheaper, but they sound terrible and they don't have a huge range to them. Pedal harps are super expensive, though.
@@cerebraldreams4738 classical harps = pedal harps
@@gerald4013 - The pedal harp wasn't invented until the second half of the 1800s, if I'm not mistaken. They were manufactured exclusively in Chicago for the longest time, and then an Italian manufacturer sprung up in the 1900s - who later bought out the Chicago manufacturer because the one in Chicago had gone bankrupt and was going to shut down their production unless they found a buyer.
More than 98% of harp manufacturing, at least for complex pedal harps, is just two companies. The Italian company owns the American company, because in the 1960s it was either find a buyer or shut down.
..Sometime before 1720 a mechanism was developed in order to meet the growing demands from harpists for an instrument that was capable of a broader range of pitch. Seven pedals built into the base of the harp could raise the pitch by half a step. The single action harp was born.
It became popular in the later 1800s.
Impresionante 👌👌👌👌👌
I think this Gurdy might be the Gurdy of Power - One Gurdy to rule them all, and in the stage lights bind them.” 😂😂😂😂😂
Nah.
It's the Gurdy to Gurdy them all and in the Gurdy Gurdy Gurdy Gurdy Gurdy Gurdy... 2 hours later... Gurdy.
My God girl,21 strings, you must be happier than a child on Xmas day and bet your have a blasting fun👍😁💚
Ohhh wooooowwwww.
