HIGHLY recommend Bombay cats 🖤 they are the sweetest, most loyal, highly intelligent and deeply empathetic. Best cat I've ever had, he turned me into a cat person 🖤
That sounds just like my Burmese. I know a breeder who breeds Burmese and Bombays, and often in the same litter. She said she sometimes gets a Burmese from two Bombays. I want another with that sweet, loyal, protective personality. I just lost my 19 year old Burmese, and I miss him! I am wondering if they are actually two breeds with personality differences, or if they are actually the same breed. Confused! Your experience is encouraging. The breeder has Bombays available, but not Burmese, for several months.
My Bombay is named Chase. He is an amazing cat I've had him since he was 4 weeks old he's 16 now and he's vibrant has a lot of energy he follows around everywhere we walk in the house no matter where we go he's there. He loves to eat though. Best animal I've ever had dog or cat. He's an amazing cat so smart and he just loves me and I love him so much hopefully he can live to 20 he's in great health right now. He's wonderful. I love him so much
Thank you very much for all this info. I got a kitten that was feral and I was sure it wasn’t just an ordinary black cat. Through research I found out he is definitely a Bombay. He’s amazing. Thank you very much for the additional information.
My Bombay appeared on my porch at about 5 weeks old. It wasn't until after she was sterilized, I began to see who she was. She is the Queen of the house, very protective of me, tolerates my older cat because he was here when she came. The first thing I noticed about her is her very high intelligence and independence. Love her dearly.
I got such a wonderful amazing Bombay cat, he’s name is benji and he is the best cat I’ve ever met, seen Or had! I absolutely love him for bringing so much love to my life, plus he’s my therapist he took my depression away somehow
I only recently discovered that our Oliver is a Bombay. When he was a kitten, I would look up different breeds to try and figure out what kind of cat he was, he looked so exotic, like a panther. He’s also very heavy, yet not overweight. My daughter-in-law calls him our cat/dog because he greets people at the door like a dog would. If you throw something to him, he will fetch it and carry it around in his mouth. He is a very unique cat. True to nature if he is left alone for too long, he will get into trouble, knock things off the counter, etc.
I have a sweet little five month old that showed up here on my rural property a few weeks ago. Instantly I'm thinking I got to get it's trust. Slowly gained it and was able to get to vet. Now little Kiki has a warm safe home.
We've got a Bombay-rescue-boy. He is our housepanther filled with love, affection, intelligence, strength - and ADHD. The Bombay's are really a very different cat. Think of it as driving a Ferrari compared to a tractor. Or possibly compare a spicy curry to oat porridge. But you do have to engage, otherwise stuff will crash. It's so much beauty, and fun. Like having an emotional puppy inside a cat. The reward is love, loyalty and loads of fun! Just don't leave him alone.
I have a Bombay cat..she has all the characteristics you speak of...she is very loving and special and beautiful her eyes are memorizing..she does purr alot..she loves to lay in my lap..I love her so much..her name is Licorice
I just got my Bombay kitten a couple of weeks ago. His name is Cricket, and he is the sweetest cat I have ever known. It didn't take me long at all to fall in love with him.
My wee Bombay kitten is a total Queen. She is also very aggressively friendly with my 5 older cats. One girl isn't friendly with any of the other cats, but Inky Stinky is by God going to change this. She's the sweetest brightest kitten that I have ever known.
Mine matches everything except not liking cats. Maybe she doesn’t mind them because she came from a rescue place but she adores my other cat. They cuddle, play, and do everything together
I got one from the Humane Society. They named her Karen. I love her and she has a appropriate name. This cat is what Dylan Thomas called “ One dog of a cat”. She is great and is the favorite of the entire family. Grandparents, etc….
My Bombay from the shelter gave me great joy for all of her 16 years! Named her Button for her button nose. Loved company, so gentle with little ones, best cat ever
i love my cat so much her name is miss nibbles she sure is affectionate and i love that about her she also sleeps with me every night and she knows when im upset or sad
My cat is not pure bred but has all the characteristics you've described of the Bombay! Yes he has learned how to open the freezer but he didn't close it and everything spoiled!!! So I have Gorilla tape on my freezer! 😊 He's Lucky he's a cat and I Love Him! His name is Sunny, also known as Mr Mischief!
About a year ago I was given 2 pet quality Bombay Kittens from my brother who had come from a feral cat. They are everything you hear They are. If you want a loving cat, get one.
We found our Bombay cat, Gypsy, in an adoption.event at the local shelter. She was 7 months and had all of the traits of a Bombay. She is now 7 years old and has developed highlights of the auburn fur of a Burmese. Otherwise, she is text book from nose to toes. She has one very unusual habit that shows her intelligence well. She does her best impression of speaking English. The first time she was 2 years old. Our 17 yr old Tabby, Scoobie, had just passed away. Though they clearly loved each other, she had a bit too much energy for him to keep up with. A few days after he passed, I caught her on video, in the spot where Scoobie used to sit and watch neighbors and their dogs pass by. She had a toy in her mouth and was making sounds that were like a toddler aged girl who was sad. She was "saying" the same thing over and over. It sounded like she was saying "I'm so sorry". When she saw me looking she walked away with the toy (that we deemed her talking stick), seeming not happy that I caught her "apologizing". Since then, she has learned some new phrases, such as " My pretty", "Outside" " Good Girl" and, of course, "Mama". I uploaded the video of that first time to my YT channel. It's adorable! Has anyone else had their kitty try to imitate human speech? We are very curious to hear about any others like her.
We took in a little Bombay kitten. She has the prettiest copper eyes also. She's sweet, loving, and most of all.....very mischevious. She's become the queen bee over our other two kitties.
9:16 is spitting image of my Chrissy. She absolutely does not get along with any other cats in the neighborhood but is friendly with many dogs. When I heard this in the video I was startled. So true.
Av seen an animal with such bright, shiny coat like Bombay cat ..I was confused for shiny black coat and big eyes for 2months after adopting from an Indian lady...after research that's when I realized it's probably an American Bombay cat
THEY EAT A LOT..NOT JUST ANY FOOD,THEIR FOOD,MUST BE QUALITY FOODS. VERY INTELLIGENT,ENJOYS STICK TO US.AND EVEN WATCH US PREPARING MEALS NAD DO THE DISHES
My Bombay cat had Auto Immune Disease and the techs are the "pretend" vets advised me to give my cat all these steroids and it did nothing for her blood count- my cat was extreme anemic and seemed to just wither away- they never tried to find out the underlining problem as to why AID was developed in my cat.
My cat matches every detail of a bombay except she has a white patch under her neck so I wonder what that means for her. Her personality matched what was said here to an exact point.
Scottish witches sometimes refer to those with the white patch as "cait sith", a fairy creature. They also make really cool familiars among real witches.
@@cd-py8bv Very interesting. I have often said that this cat is much more intelligent than normal. I have often referred to her as a familiar. Sometimes when I even think hard about her she will come to me. She showed up at my back door one day and decided to stay. I am very happy to get this information, I think I will investigate further. THANK YOU

You described my Bombay exactly. I found her like someone else here well a friend of mine did in a parking lot as a kitten in a appliance box with two other kittens. I believe they were stolen from a pet store of breeder then abandoned. However she is black golden eyes with a green ring at times more visible than others with a small white patch on her chest neck area and between her legs. So I think she's British Bombay .

@@_RayOfLight_ Very Correct !!! The only and extremely rare exception is when a person passes away and has left instructions for a "no kill" shelter to adopt out their beloved Bombay. Even if this is the case ( I know of one ), the cat has their certificate of pedigree and poor things are very sad from the loss of their owner..
We were told by vet that he is very likely bombay 🐈⬛. His younger sister is short haired mixed breed. Either way they are the best cats with one exception my obeyone cow cat boy we have owned
Please don't call the cat using just using the feminine gender. It is unfair to cats because there are male Bombays, too. If you can avoid using a pronoun at all , that is wise. Or please use both male and female pronouns.
I'm afraid someone's going to flag this post as something related to gender social issues... I don't see this as a controversial comment. I also find it kind of awkward and confusing when I hear someone gendering an entire breed because it's inaccurate and unnecessary information...like a junk file. It's got nothing to do about anyone's feelings -- although mundane to some people, assigning a gender to a breed is still useless information. It's better to be grammatically accurate in a professional video presentation.
NO,the health problem with this breed is fungal infection on the fur,i had to treat mine with lime juice and turmeric for some time..also they are prone to stress, although they will not demonstrate it and when they do watch out for the shed of fur and fungal diseases
HIGHLY recommend Bombay cats 🖤 they are the sweetest, most loyal, highly intelligent and deeply empathetic. Best cat I've ever had, he turned me into a cat person 🖤
Also, he protects and loves our other cat so deeply. I think the social aspect may be a personality thing.

It's called FIV. Your cat may have either got into a s rap with an infected cat or its mother was infected.
