My male Bombay mix always jumps up into my lap any time he gets the chance. He ALWAYS needs to go outside with our labs and poodle when they use the bathroom.
I adopted a black stray cat when it was a few weeks old. I didn't know what breed it was, just the regular shorthair domestic cats I see around, I thought, but she does look like a Bombay. She has stunning black coat, she loves to eat, and is very affectionate/clingy indeed. She's so beautiful.
I love my bombay cat, he and I have like a psychic link. He gives me a certain look and I immediately know what he wants. I just have to tilt my head and he knows to come into the room, it's so cool
Morrigan Rose I have 2 Bombay's, Bruce and Bane. Bane cries whenever my or my girlfriend leaves and also when either of us are in the bathroom without him. Bruce was the alpha of the pack so he's a big chonk and doesn't cry or meow very often but will when he wants some affection
These are amazing cats. I can't tell you how many friends that aren't "Cat people" absolutely fall in love with ours. Never have a problem with people wanting to watch out cat while we're away.
I love my bombay, bourbon. He was found as a stray roaming the streets. When I found him at the local shelter i fell in love with this little boney kitten. Now bourbon is 4 years old, healthy and very beautiful
This is so cool. I adopted a cat 6 years ago and assumed he was a DSH but I randomly saw an article in Cat Fancy about the bombay breed and it describes my little guy perfectly: all black, copper eyes, heavy bone structure. He's very affectionate and friendly (will even crawl in the lap of guests!) but very energetic.
Our cat is a Bombay. He loves to be held like a baby or over one shoulder. He gives lots of head bops and he’s very smart. He could be a little feisty when he was young but the older he gets the more loving and extremely cuddly he’s become. I’m sure he would have loved to be raised with children as he’s very patient and tolerant.
My first cat was a Bombay when I was 6, and my current cat is a Bombay. She's got the sneezies as my vet calls it, but she's so affectionate and always has to be in the same room as me ❤️
My Bombay we got on Halloween she loves to play and is afraid of heights lol. She always wakes me up in the morning by scratching at my door. She is fat tho but I still love her lol
My little Charlie was a deemed an American Shorthair by the vet, but if you threw a mouse across the room he would fetch it. He was always right in my face (ex :when I was on the computer, or reading or would get right up on my pillow when I was sleeping.) He had the shiny patent leather hair as well and the big yellow eyes. I thought he might be Bombay because of the characteristics. He was such a sweet little guy.
Mine passed away July 10th. He was as we called him a pigmy panther. I got him at 9 weeks old he actually named himself I was watching a John Wayne movie and he stopped to watch "The Duke" win a fight, and so was the kitten named Duke. I miss him very much he suffered from PICA and we believe he had gotten ahold of something he shouldn't have.
I have one, named Ebony. She is the most relentlessly affectionate cat I have ever seen in my life. I have to actually go out of my way to get her to NOT spend time with me because she's just that clingy.
i have a bombay cat, and she is really sassy and mean at times but she makes up for it with enthusiasm and cuteness. i rescued her thinking she was a domestic shorthair and i got a dna test and she turned out to be an american bombay. she is also very very clingy lol but she’s amazing in every way and i wouldn’t trade her for the world❤️
My Bombay, Luna, is clingiest lil butthead in the world and she’s absolutely spoiled rotten. And I love her to pieces 🥹❤️ .. I’m not usually an animal person AT ALL, but a friend of mine told me her cat had kittens and asked if I wanted one. My response was “oh absolutely not ✋🏼🛑” … then she showed me pics/vids of them, and my eyes immediately locked in on the tiniest little baby in the corner of the kitty play pin. She was the only black cat in the litter and she was away from the others doing her own thing and I said “oh yeah…she’s mine. I’ll take her.” 😂 All of the other kittens in her litter were light grey with brown spots and I thought she just happened to have a darker coat. It was only when I took her to the vet, that I learned she was not the same as the others in her litter, and she had a different father than the rest of them. Which I didn’t even know was possible, but hey 🤷🏼♂️.. I agree 1000000% about Bombays being the dog of cats loll. Luna freakin LOVES bath time and will jump into any body of water and just swim in circles having a blast 😂 ..and she LIVES for playing fetch lmao. Also, she does not like to walk around the house and insists on sitting on my shoulder like a parrot. 😂😂 Bombay’s are smart as hell too. I have cams in my house so I can just check in on her throughout the day, and found out that Luna knows my work schedule and knows around when I’ll be home, because at 5:30 every single day, she stops what she’s doing, or wakes up from a nap and runs to my door where she sits for 30 minutes waiting for me to get home. Lol If you’re thinking about getting a Bombay yourself, please please PLEASE make sure you have enough free time dedicated to it. Bombays crave attention and DEMAND to be the center of it at all times lol. Luna is a bossy little turd but I wouldn’t change a thing ❤️
Sorry to hear this. A cat is a real family member, and they will be remembered with love. I remember all our cats... that's 50 years of memory. some of them I miss dearly even after 10-20-30 years!
We have an adorable Bombay cat named Sebastian. Velcro kitty all the way! Crazy long legs and tail, Looks funny when he sits! He fetches and brings me toys all day that he wants me to play with him with! We joke that we should have named him Shadow. Not a typical entertain themselves cat! 💚💚💚
I've had two bombay cats in my life and both were SUPER affectionate/clingy. my second one, Macha, had this adorable thing where she would literally crawl into my blankets and wiggle between me and my stuffed rabbit I sleep with
I have two Bombay cats, and they are two of the best animals I've ever owned. These cats are the perfect balance between a cat's look and demeanor; mixed with a dog's affectionate personality. Everyday, when I wake up or get home, my cat Steve is waiting for me. Even as I sit and type this I have both of my cats in but an arms distance.
Love our beautiful Bombay boy, we got him in 2020, after our son got his older brother, it was a bit of Black Magic 🪄, our boy was from the mother’s final litter & he’s long and tall, not used to having a cat that stands up & can easily pick stuff off all our counters. So glad I got him, because my 11 year old Flame Point Siamese got suddenly sick and passed away two days short of a month later. Sisko is a Velcro cat, just like my deceased kitty, he helped me heal❤❤❤ He doesn’t like me to leave, his coat is the gloomiest coat, patin leather is a good description!!
I might get a bombay mix kitten this saturday and I'm so hyped! Also I compared bombay behavior and appearance to my black cat that's a "domestic shorthair mix" and now I'm 99% sure she's a bombay mix. Literally EVERYTHING described about bombays is just like her! I love her! :D I hope she gets along well with the new kitten. We'll make sure to slowly introduce them on each side of the door and feed them wet food and play with them on both sides so they associate each other with good things and all that junk. HYPEEEEEE
I love my Bombay!!!! I have him for the last 18 years. I adopted him when he was just a kitten. He loves to eat and sleeps with me. I have him since I was 10 years old and now I’m 26 years old.
I adopted a Bombay. He had been re-home 3 times. I can’t see why anyone would re-home him. He’s the best. I kept the name he had been given , Salem. His coat is so soft, he doesn’t claw or bite me. Salem is just a little teddy bear.
I have a black sterilized cat from a shelter. He is a male and so sweet and affectionate, he follows you everywhere. He doesn't like to be left alone. My boyfriend bought him a bag to put him in especially made for animals. He walked with him in the center of Brussels at the evening he really loved it. He was so curious. This cat is really intelligent and curious. He is big and his paws are high. His fur is always shining and is quite short. He has copper eyes who sometimes turn green. He easily sneezes and he has a chronical flue so we must regulary go with him to the vet. This flue comes from time to time. We sometimes wonder if he is a bombay but because he comes from a shelter we really doubt it. But perhaps he is a hybride, I don't know. But we have never seen a cat like him.
We live in the country in Maine. My wife is very allergic to cat hair and dander so we never owned any cats. Anyway, about a year after buying a farm house, a feral cat or what i thought was one would show up and run away. I started leaving food and water for him in my barn. It's three years later, he's the greatest. He definitely is a bombay, i remember telling my friends he follows me around even downtown, like a dog. It took a while for him to allow anyone to come near him. i think he was abandoned or something. So, now i have another orphan, a tiger female. They both get along and although that one is very skittish, lives upstairs in a bale of straw lol she is starting to allow me or my daughter to pet her. I can't save the world but am glad i have these two cat's patrolling my property. I let them in my heated basement this time of year but they prefer to be outside. I know there are alot of people that consider allowing a cat to go outside abuse. Look, these two would have probably starved or frozen to death. I give them love, food, water, a warm place. I have brought them to the vet for shots. Had to trap peeps the female as she is still wild. They pretty much stay in the barn at night three quarters of the year. both are good mousers too. That's my cat comment. In the spring i plant a large organic garden and the black cat named limeaid (long story) literally hangs out with me. When i watched this video i'm like he's not feral he's a bombay! He was a skinny little runt mayb a few months old when he showed up. He climbs trees like a panther and loves the outdoors. For those who think i should keep them inside, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. I agree for any new kitten ideally if it's raised indoors, it probably is safer. I'm not impressed with the people i know that have cats that just sleep all day, overeat and have no personality. For me to force these cat's inside would not only make them sad as they may have been born outdoors (lot of old barns around) this is what they know. They have never been sick so far and are very healthy and smart. They do chase each other and have broken some antique bottles i had on a beam once but that's ok. They have cat class and cat style. Thanks for this awesome video. I learned alot. now i have to listen to the one about tiger cats. The girl is greyish blue with neat stripes. She can run very fast. We call her peeps because she doesn't meow only makes a peep noise like a bird. Sorry if i bored anyone lol. MT
I think I had a Bombay mix... he was such a baby! He played fetch, shed a lot and just wanted to be loved and petted all the time :) In the sunlight his coat looked reddish brown. He was all black with green eyes and had a little swinging belly ^.^ I suggest this cat, or a mix of it!
Great video that actually shows what makes them look different from regular black cats. The round head and that stumpy little nose :3 Mine got crossed with a tuxedo cat, so she has white mittens, belly and chin. Orange eyes like a big spooky moon
My kitty ❤ Abby ❤ is a beautiful Bombay my tiny lil panther i love her dearly she's 10 years old and acts like a kitten still and is very tiny shes about 3 to 5 pounds of unconditional love. My baby :)
My family recently got a black cat. When she got bigger (not kitten sized) I noticed different features and found out she's a Bombay cat. She is very affectionate. She bonded with my husband and she constantly sits with him on his chair.
My Bombay, Tifa, is my little darling. She's slightly anti-social (she doesn't like a full house of people) but she loves sleeping under the covers with me during the winter and she doesn't mind being held. She's pretty loud when she wants to vocalize but is otherwise a pretty quiet kitty who loves to sleep a lot.
I was trying to figure out what kind of cat I have and he is bombay through and through! Most likely a mix but he has all the Bombay features and characteristics. Very loving cat. Sleeps next to me all the time
I didn't realize my cat is a Bombay cat. But seeing this video long ago, then I realize that my cat is a Bombay cat. The characteristics, even behavior is the same. And... her mother is a burmese exactly similar to the explained one in video.
These are gorgeous; my favourite cat is a type I always refer to as "streamlined"; they are slim and shorthaired, and all black. So it looks like Bombay is the kind I like, good to know :)
My girl Luna is a Bombay she is so soft and snuggly and pretty she loves dogs and playing chase. I would definitely recommend this breed they get really attached to their owner follow you around just sitting next to you purring and greet you at the door. They get along with everyone and are super friendly but they have a more special connection to their owner. Thanks to seeing this on tv I started brushing her teeth twice a week she's getting a bit of a belly though! :s time for a new diet!
My three cats are the mixed with Bombay and ragdoll they are a BIG CUDDLER AND BIG BIG HEARTS you wouldn’t even think that it’s a cat cause of it’s warm heart❤️
I just got one after I found her as a stray, half of one of her ears was missing and shd was really skinny but after a few months we made her a vet appointment and got her micro chipped, she gets along really well with my maine coon
My bombay Jaxx is the life of the party, so to speak. My 2 year old cousin is very rough with him and he just sits there and does nothing. Has never scratched anyone or her and I dont think ever will. He is one the most laid back cats i've ever owned. But he's always trying to get my attention constantly and always brushing up against me. I'd recommend this cat to anyone who has kids and or nieces or nephews, etc. Very great, nice, gentle, and rambunctious.
I have a black cat with a beautiful shiny black coat and he has the copper colored eyes, not sure if he is a Bombay or just your typical american shorthair. He was a rescue.
A friend came across this little beauty in May. She couldn't take her on, so I took on the task of bottle feeding her from 3 weeks. She is extremely clingy. She wakes me up every morning, aggressively purring in my face. She is quite short. Keep in mind, she's only 5 months. But I thought she would be taller by now. Could she be stunted?
My one looks excatly like a bombay, but has not the yellow eyes, but i always thought there must be a dog in the family tree. He responds also better than many dogs and is also a guard cat.
Wow, I think my male miniature panther is a Bombay! Huh! He fits everything y'all said here. He's also solid black -- not a white hair on him. My other miniature panther, a female (no relation), has about 8 little white hairs under her chin.
If you want a dog, but aren't allowed to, I suggest you get a Bombay.
Nightcore I agree, mine always loved his walks loved to fetch. He was the size of a small dog weighing in at 11lbs. He was such a lovebug.
Thats what i may have to do since my new apartment doesnt allow dogs
My male Bombay mix always jumps up into my lap any time he gets the chance. He ALWAYS needs to go outside with our labs and poodle when they use the bathroom.
Thanks for your input 👍 Is leash training difficult?
It’s a dog in a cat’s body 😂
I adopted a black stray cat when it was a few weeks old. I didn't know what breed it was, just the regular shorthair domestic cats I see around, I thought, but she does look like a Bombay. She has stunning black coat, she loves to eat, and is very affectionate/clingy indeed. She's so beautiful.
My kitty who recently passed away was a tuxedo, but she looked a lot like a Bombay 🥺
I love my bombay cat, he and I have like a psychic link. He gives me a certain look and I immediately know what he wants. I just have to tilt my head and he knows to come into the room, it's so cool
OMG OMG OMG. Post a video !!!
omg i have a 7 month old bombay and his name IS Link
Dreighen they seem like they’d be a cool cat too own, plus I love the contrast darker colored cats have when they have bright eyes
My Bombay cat is so cute, when I leave home everyone says he cries. He likes to be held like a baby, and bounced. :] I love my baby!
Mine likes to be rocked and bounced too! Lol
Black cats are my favorite for sure
Most black cats are very sweet too
Same, I have 3 black cats and are the best
I have a Bombay kitten named Ninja and he is most definitely a "Velcro cat". Everywhere I go, he's RIGHT behind me. I love him SO much
+JMeyer Would you mind sharing where you got him? I'm looking everywhere for breeder recommendations!
That’s a great name for a cat
Alysia Bryant often times it’s good to look in your area, if you can’t find one close to you, some of them will let you pick them up at the airport
When I move out I'm getting a cat immediately so my parents can't visit me.
I couldn't agree more. My cat Piper is such a baby. All he wants is to be held. And heard. He is such a whiner, and with a very loud meow.
Bombay cats have the sweeeeeetiest meows
Piper is also the name of my Bombay!
I LOVE HOW MONOTONE HIS VOICE AND FACE IS AS HE SAYS THAT 😂

Awwwwww I used to have a bombay. They really are the best!
People do take note this cat you saw Salem in Sabrina is just a robot puppet.
I have one, named Ebony. She is the most relentlessly affectionate cat I have ever seen in my life. I have to actually go out of my way to get her to NOT spend time with me because she's just that clingy.
my wife hates cats, but i brought one of these guys home, and she is in love now.

These are some amazing cats we owned on when I was a kid until at the end of high School she passed
me and the family took in and raised a stray black cat and he brought us nothing but good luck.

Gotta love that black coat, I’m snuggling with my little panther while watching this.
We love our two and they were rescues!!!
I saw one at pet smart with bright orange eyes. I fell in love!
I was trying to figure out what kind of cat I have and he is bombay through and through! Most likely a mix but he has all the Bombay features and characteristics. Very loving cat. Sleeps next to me all the time
I have a bombay. Her name is luna... Shes cute.
My Bombay Midnight is very loving, intelligent & talks alot!!
I didn't realize my cat is a Bombay cat. But seeing this video long ago, then I realize that my cat is a Bombay cat. The characteristics, even behavior is the same. And... her mother is a burmese exactly similar to the explained one in video.
My mother and sister have black cats and they are the sweetest things you could ever own.
These are gorgeous; my favourite cat is a type I always refer to as "streamlined"; they are slim and shorthaired, and all black. So it looks like Bombay is the kind I like, good to know :)
We love our Bombay cat named Luna she so awesome
I`ve got a bombay he`s so CUTE!
One time my Bombay Ziggy sneezed and had a giant string of bugger and didn't notice so he walked around with it and I had to wipe his nose
I have a Bombay cat and she was the best cat I ever owned.
My three cats are the mixed with Bombay and ragdoll they are a BIG CUDDLER AND BIG BIG HEARTS you wouldn’t even think that it’s a cat cause of it’s warm heart❤️
I have a Bombay and he is the most cutest thing ever.
Bombay cats Rock N Purr/Roll
I just got one after I found her as a stray, half of one of her ears was missing and shd was really skinny but after a few months we made her a vet appointment and got her micro chipped, she gets along really well with my maine coon
No way it's a Bombay
Can someone let me know I'd they have a Bombay bron in August 2018, I want to see if I can find my cats siblings
I want a male Bombay so I can name him Salem. My mom hates Bombay's, but I think they look so cute and mysterious😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Best cat breed ever...! Bombay...
I would love to have a Bombay someday!
I had one of these when I was younger and everyone loved him his was name magic
I loved these cats since I was little just cause Sabrina the teenage witch had one named Salem.
Bombay cats are better than dogs, and better than any pet, I have a bombay😍😍😍🐱🐱🐱
i agree with you .
@@tranchu6804 I prefer horses and any kitty
I have a black cat with a beautiful shiny black coat and he has the copper colored eyes, not sure if he is a Bombay or just your typical american shorthair. He was a rescue.
yay my bombay is awesome
I'm a fan!!!
So I'm guessing that kitty on tumblr with the Orange eyes is most likely a Bombay Chartreux mix....
Sarah Barisas sounds beautiful
A friend came across this little beauty in May. She couldn't take her on, so I took on the task of bottle feeding her from 3 weeks. She is extremely clingy. She wakes me up every morning, aggressively purring in my face. She is quite short. Keep in mind, she's only 5 months. But I thought she would be taller by now. Could she be stunted?
those last 5 seconds were a absolute whirlwind of plot twists
I love my girl Lucy x
My one looks excatly like a bombay, but has not the yellow eyes, but i always thought there must be a dog in the family tree. He responds also better than many dogs and is also a guard cat.
I have a black cat that I believe is a Bombay. He is super affectionate! This video definitely describes Vader to a T!
Kenneth Dorning unless you got it from a breeder it’s not a bombay
Georgeous cats! I have a black cat that looks almost exactly like these cats, but he doesn't fetch, and isn't good with other pets.
Wow, I think my male miniature panther is a Bombay! Huh! He fits everything y'all said here. He's also solid black -- not a white hair on him. My other miniature panther, a female (no relation), has about 8 little white hairs under her chin.
Jesus help all kitties stay healthy during this challenging time
What can I feed my bombay to maintain a shiny coat (and a happy cat)?
Why did you stop at Lava????
I have a lot of them they are wonderful
Where do I find a cat like this
