#tbt so one this one time I got to workout with the @texastech_fb football team!
I posed as a "new recruit" from out of state. Everyone was a little surprised when we started lifting 😅
Probably one of the coolest things I've gotten to do.
@rustywhitt was the strength and conditioning coach at the time and got it all set up. Huge thanks to him! - Спорт
So cool to see the immediate support from these guys.
Earn respect not given
Won't see that support in a chick's gym...
They have no other option lol
Wow! Amazing lifts. I’m turning 72 this week, and pulled 380 lbs in June at Wyoming StatePowerlifting meet. Hope I can pull 405 lbs before I get too old.
That’s crazy!! Keep Grinding!!
Dang, keep it up.
I pulled 600lb at 48 years of age.
Get 405 at 73 that is more impressive!
HUUUZZAAHHH!!!!
Nice to see a vid from you again. Some years ago you made a video about bent over rows and you showed us your style of doing these. This exercise helped me alot to gain core stability. I'm deadlifting 535now (which is huge for me) and at work, I'm a mechanic, my whole back - lower and upper!- is kinda bulletproof.
You helped me a lot curing my lower back pain for the last years.
Thank you, Sir, for adding so much to my life quality!
Greetings from Germany
Marlon
May i ask what kind of a split are you running
@@DZGC43 full body training, twice a week with alot of exercise variation. It's hard, but after some months your endurance and your work capacity catch up. Got many "routine" ideas from AlphaDestiny, alias Alex Leonidas....
With a manual labor job what is your set and rep range like? You don't do sets of 12 or failure right? Or what does a program look like for you.
@@rye-bread5236 Hi! Usually I train twice a week, as I said full body workout. The first workout of the week is a kinda heavy workout, 3-4 sets of each exercise with 5-8 reps on deadlift, squats, bent over rows, pullups/rows, bench, forearm exercises, shoulders, hamstrings, etc. I flip some additional core stability exercises in there, as well, mainly for abs and obligues. The second exercise of the week is a high volume workout. Again full body, which is brutal on your system. At the 2nd workout I try to hit every muscle group again, but with other exercises and as I said with a lot more volume, 3-4 sets with 10-30 rep range. Even as the weights are much lower and I mix some machine workouts in there, due to the heavy volume aspect, that workout is heavy af. Don't train your muscles always with the same rep range and with the same exercise, it will hurt you in the longrun. Have a wide range of exercise and rep rotation and focus on consistent progress.
As you progress, try to lower your rest time , this will keep your heart rate up and trains your cardio system as well. I try to always have as many exercises in 90min as I can. Brutal
I’m still working to be the best deadlifter in my gym, thank you for the inspiration!
Same, you also train at home?
@@sarethums 💀
go to planet fitness
@@shalami_lifts9176 then you cant even deadlift cuz theres no bars
@@jeffk4710 that’s point😭😭😭
Good to see you back, I hope this brings forth new content.
You had to feel all that energy in there with all those guys hyping you up.
And this why powerlifting is awesome. Seeing people lifting heavy shit that you wouldn’t think could do it. Especially going into a football setting like this where every team has a heavy lifter but then you have a 210 lb guy like Cailer walk in lol
🤗The Dr. is back,🏋️ Thank you so much ❤️🔥
Awesome video duude. Please get back to breaking world records 🙏 🙏
Its good to see you back!! Hopefully you start doing contents again 😁
That was awesome and hopefully inspiring for the team.
I love this stuff.
Thank you .
Love it. Goooo TECH!
The vibe in the weight room was awesome
Glad you are either a Flatlander or living here. Great job. I will try to follow for when you are competing
Great video. Quick and to the point. That guy is strong.
What a fun video, haven't seen this one
This video deserves wayyy more likes with so many views 🔥🔥
Them boys were HEARTBROKE 😭😭😭
That’s awesome!
Wish this video was longer but its awesome
Watching how supportive the team was to a newcomer might have me pulling for Texas Tech as long as they are not playing LSU.
Welcome back sir!!
he is back!
Cailer is a maniac in the weight room.
Knew a guy that was a nationally ranked power lifter. One of my son’s football coaches also knew him. Asked him to attend an offseason practice to give the players pointers and help with form. It was motivating for the players to see a guy bench 500 lbs without breaking a sweat.
The doctor is back!
Great idea. Great for those kids
Amazing what he can lift for his size.
Raider strong! Good stuff!
It's interesting how when guys see someone who's their better, they don't seem to be bothered, they're like "dayum, good for him"
Forgot I was subscribed. Hello dr deadlift
Nice! Double over hand
Good stuff guys
That team was pumped😂😂
Always lift with football players. They go the most wild.
Damn, never knew Cailer lives in the same city as me. That knowledge is gonna add 10% to my max, easy
Okay, let’s see him on the cone drills baby😂🤣.
Bro I was ready for them. But it was just a lifting session 😅
Love undercover videos where there is a camera crew and everyone is acting
I miss Dr. Deadlift!!
Good stuff
You healthy? How are you man, I hope you are doing well.
in 2021 he tore a pec (not from lifting) and a quad, and a lat, and 11 months later re-tore the lat. maybe there are some concoctions of medications that can be injected to accelerate healing, maybe it’s just bad luck, but either way it will take time
Baddest dude at my weight class.
Monster
I know these guys! Use to party with them at a house on 46th and like Indiana
I like that trick where you made me think my iPhone was an Android
good one coach
Overhand grip?! You're a beast
just fyi its not double overhand its called hookgrip.
@@Dawood4 it’s overhand
@@baker4132 you can't overhand 700 lbs. you gotta use a hook grip
@@baker4132 lol you dont lift
@@baker4132 Hook grip. Look it up.
nice!
Classic.
No lifting straps! That's real strength
Yeah that's why I started training my crushing strength with Captains of Crush. My pr with straps was 200 lbs more than without. Now it's around 150, but still got a long ways to go on grip strength.
I will never use mixed grip cause it can cause bicep tears.
@@gaiseric9518you have to be deadlifting a lot of weight for mixed grip to be dangerous. you would need to use hook grip then
@@benchgoblin I’ve seen videos with people tearing them around my range.
The comradery of men lifting weights should be studied nothings brings us more together like sports, weights and star wars
Give that guy a key to the weight room
The hook-gripping kind of gives it away…. 😏. Although most college kids aren’t going to notice it.
Bad ass
wait, I have issues getting up from my chair and this guy does this? that ain't right.
That's awesome. Lol
Cool
That guy’s strong and he’s not very heavy.
"All of us are mere mortals"
I thought my phone turned into an android for a sec lmao
Watching him lift defies logic
Man dont compete on a team. Probably refreshing getting so much support from peers.
WHERE HAS HE BEEN?????
You live in Lubbock?
Yup!
which sport does deadlifting specifically help you with that other exercises dont?
Being strong helps you do better at anything! That's the cool part about it.
Light weight!
bros brought out the calculator
The moment I see someone take their shoes off I know they're a professional deadlifter
nice
I can deadlift as much as he can. Just not all at one time.
Yep....and just give me maybe a few days to do it.
I just got into deadlifting and some of my friends and lifting partners would tell me that’s bad form….
Video works because he's actually a small (for lifting) guy. It's not like Eddie Hall walked in.
that's insane! How does he not get injured. 225 feels like the danger zone for me hahaha.
You probably don’t know how to brace properly as well as lack the core stability / strength to support that strong brace. I know how it feels I only learned recently and it’s made a world of difference, I feel like I can do anything with a barbell now that I know how to brace properly. If you want more info look up “Squat University How to brace properly”
Bro 225 is pussy weight 😂
WT............!!
1:32 He never said "deadlift." He blew it. Just say, "This man holds the world record in the deadlift for his weight class [and for one above it]."
Lol I think everyone’s able to figure out what record he holds
@@Comeau444 Everyone? Do you even know? What was his record record in KG's and his weight class in KG's at the time, Mr. Smarty?
Wreckem!!!!!
undercover? your first lift everybody was staring lol
undercover as in posing as a transfer student
Lol
You know sumo’s cheating because he had to pull conventional to sell the bit 😂
How fast does he run?
The deadlift doesn't mean squat in football.
He's not exactly trying out for the team.
Why they need a calculator? HAhahahaha If it ain't 5's and 0's or X's and O's they lost lol
It’s funny how people continuously bitch about everybody’s form, then you watch a world record holder that does the same things people bitch about…
What kinds of things are people complaining about? 😅
I mean the last clip is good but you train conventional deadlift most the time why would you want your wr doing sumo? When you clearly can train longer and get it to your thighs instead of just your knees? No hate just wondering why would you make that trade because you are almost pro strongman level why not make it legitimate instead of opting out for sumo
That was fun. But kinda unfair. If I were one of the guys in that room and saw our new transfer was beast-lifting like that I'd be thinking, "OMG, look at this guy! We're going to be unstoppable!"
lol beast lifting
Show off.
😂
all i hear is his back
Dude looks about 40
Is he natural or does he take steroids?
Idk, Let me ask him right quick!
Their strength and conditioning program is terrible. I was really high on the Deaton kid and then he shits the bed at the combine on the bench. Legs were even weaker.
where the F are you? still alive?
Anyone else see the android buttons in the video
And to do it natty as well. Simply amazing!!!!!
Woolam wasn't natty.🤣🤣🤣 He openly talked about his use of gear, when he discussed the injuries that have sidelined his lifting career. (This is in no way meant to be a criticism of him. He wasn't competing in drug tested comps, and as far as I know has never lied about his steroid use.)
bruh
@@egodominustuus9167 this idiot is just trying to downplay his achievements due to him being on steroids. It’s considered “cheating” you know
Did they tell the team he’s on roids too lol
sorry you live in lubbock bro ,
jk
Dude is twice their age. Calm down. Probably all the Tren he took
he is actually very young, he was probably 22 or 23 in this
LOL. Bent biceps cuz hes in a university gym? Slamming plates cuz he's on tv? Please.
Ruined it by showing sumo at the end.
Cailer can do 20 reps of your 1rm. Pipe down
The only difference is steroids vs no steroids
Guarantee a ton of the players are using
@@computerman91.literally every player is using
@@computerman91. nvm steroids vs more steroids
I’ve found the weak jealous lifter that accuses everyone who beats him they’re on gear 😂
Just because you are weak doesn’t mean others are cheating.
@@PickleThePig cailor has admitted to steroid use such as tren. Cope harder. As for the football team I don’t think they are on. But there’s a good chance they could be
Funniest part is when they had to bring out a calculator... not awhile lot of scholars in that gym
How ironic that you tried making a joke about their intellect when here you are having simple grammar mistakes 😂
🥱
