It seems like these penalties are equal opportunity for indy authors so it seems like we just need to adjust our approach. I wonder if you could contact Amazon ahead of time about a promotion, kinda like contacting your bank before you travel so they don't flag your bank card. Thanks Derek!
Greetings Derek, your videos have helped me in various ways. I am now close to publishing my first novel through createspace. My question: do these mentioned bans occur after a set amount of sales or percentually? What I mean by that: I won't sell thousands of books in a short time and won't do any promotions that bring in many sales at once - but I do plan to get as many presales in as possible. Your video made me think about the possibility, that if I get only a couple of presales in the first day, and then maybe a hundred or two afterwards - that this could be enough for the robot to mark me.

My suggestion is, for those of us who are "Newbies" to the self-publishing world, would you mind explaining your acronyms and/or if you are promoting a site that helps authors, IE sales promotions, advertising, publishing tools etc. And would you mind explaining what the company does rather than saying things like, "If you are using XYZ company", etc but not mentioning what the company specializes in? I've noticed this in a couple of your videos and I have to stop and google the company to find out, rather than keep listening to your message. Please. Thank you. And for my question, once you have launched a book, can you edit it later? For example, if you are receiving feedback on typos or incorrect punctuation or the book cover isn't catchy enough, and you edit it, can you relaunch it? And if so, do you lose your rank?
