The footage looks like a gopro of about 6 years ago, and is over sharpened (nothing new there) but I love the potential of the magnetic mount, remote control, and the mechanical stabilisation. Hopefully they put a 1/1.2 or 1/1.7 sensor in the next version, and I think I won't be able to stop myself from buying one.
I disagree about your timeline of comparison to GPs. I think the shown footage is on par with my GP 8, circa 2019. Maybe a little better. Agree with the rest of what you said.
Arthur, I like the way you talk/explain everything, because you talk slowly and clear. Since I come from Indonesia but live here in KS. So I can understand clearly what you're talking about. Good job Arthur.
Hello Arthur, thank you for your review. 😊We will collect these useful suggestions for future product development and firmware upgrades. Regarding the material, due to its WiFi antennae, it's not suitable for metal; about the built-in radio, except for the professional voice cavity structure, we made the noise reduction on the software, which can meet daily use requirements. When we connect the cam and handle, let's install it slowly through the dovetail slot. For the object tracking function, we suggest users try out the APP tracking, the effects would be better. Our Pocket 3 adopts CMOS of SONY IMX577 with an F2.0 aperture lens that satisfies daily shooting. For such scenes requiring highlights and shadows, the built-in WDR can improve picture quality and stability. Thanks. 😎👍
I have the v2 and am super happy with it. What I wish it had was built in levels for recording audio. Or, at least a way to monitor levels during recording.
Alot of portable cameras wont have that. I have the wireless rhode, so I would prolly use that since it has viewable levels and a jack for headphone monitor
Whoah - video quality on this camera is WAY better than I thought it would have been. The colors, stabilization, and 4k image are exceptional for the price. I was expecting much more smearing and artifacts. Thx for the review.
This really reminds me of the DJI Pocket 2, but with the DJI if you add a few accessories, you can get wireless lav audio and more. I own a REMOVU gimbal that I use with my GoPro and the gimbal part of that can be removed from the control handle. Then, the handle can control the head from a pretty good distance. It works great but is a little larger than this, when all put together.
I accidentally dropped my Pocket 2 on hard floor. Now the gimbal vibrates when I shoot at certain angles. When you play a recorded video, there is a noticeable shaking (although it's smoothed out by the stabilization feature), so the video kinda looks like it's undulating, like waves. :(
The video does look very good, but it looks a bit over sharpened to me. Do you know if there is any control over this in the camera, like there is on full mirrorless cameras?
Amazing review. Image quality looks nice but there are a few scenes where it looked like it was falling apart. Not sure if it was do to sharpness etc. Did you shoot the video sample in log? Thanks again for this review.
Innovative form factor, let down by audio - and you can't plug in a mic. Something like this was the subject of a recent DJI patent, apparently for their Pocket 3. But Feiyu got there first. However, the chances of the DJI version having poor audio, non-focussing lens, small aperture, small sensor, etc etc, is minimal. But it will be more expensive - perhaps radically more expensive if DJI takes this down the semi-pro route, which is possible. The DJI version is said to be due in April, so maybe wait for that and then decide on price/performance.
I might not upgrade even to the DJI Pocket 3, it all depends on what you get. I'm in the market for a 1-inch Pocket that can shoot 4K 60p 10-bit 4:2:2. There are already quite a few phones that shoot 10-bit LOG and soon there will be a few that have 1-inch cameras. So the tech is here or almost here and I for one am willing to wait for it.
Thanks for sharing this video. How this camera deals with continuous video shootings, does this heat up and stop shooting? Please guide Secondly, can we take photos at 4k? How you will compare this with Dji pocket 2?
Especially in low light, a mechanical gimbal is a great alternative to electronic image stabilization. But on the other hand, you don’t have the same level of ruggedness as a classic action cam.
Will the Feiyu Pocket 3 also feature an HDMI output just like the 2nd generation models? In this configuration it would be perfect for multi camera live reports on the go.
I have used Feiyu gimbal for Sony rx0 and dji pocket2. Seems like no better image quality than phone camera or action camera. But I love the concept. I hope they launch pro version of it
There is a very noticable “Stuttering” at 2:28 on the cyclist crossing the road possibly because of high shutter speed. Investing in a set of new ND filters compatible with this camera (if possible and available) will be an added cost
the section of the bike pass by it look like 10fps and the resolution looked upscaled? in the sample videos there is allot of jpg distortion more fluid frame rate (part of the picture is blurry)
Does it have a full lock pan and tilt mode?. Dji pocket does not. ( For Dji pocket u have to keep "pressing" the button to maintain the full lock mode which is a stupid design)
Many times I am not sure if you are shooting with the Fei Yu or your Sony alpha with all the cuts. I It would be helpful to see more shots inside with room lighting or using a small led flat panel light
Having received my kickstarter one, the remote handle should’ve been included from the start. I haven’t been able to connect to my iPhone. The documentation and other how-to information is severely lacking.
I made the same mistake, then I wondered what the difference was and read what you get more carefully. You can edit what you ordered, so I changed to the bundle with the remote. For me it's worth it for the extended battery time. I think it will also be easier to use than the camera fastened to a phone.
It seems like a great versatile concept all in all - but the image quality is, I'm sorry to say, like from a dashcam. Not on the level of a DJI Pocket 2, unfortunately.
*Arthur, it's interesting what you didn't show us examples of with what this camera can do in the video image quality department ? No night time shots ! Why ? Is it because the low light shots look like CaCa ? We're not stupid you know. I own the original DJI OSMO Pocket, and it looks great in low light (IF) you always shoot at 60P. (This setting gives you the highest built in camera video image encoding data rate of 101 Mbps.) Although I prefer shooting at 24p, which isn't true 24.00p, rather, it's 23.976p. I wish the Feiyu CCP Commie Camera shot @ True 24.00p for Cinematic looking video, but I bet it's only 23.976p. There's simply no need for fractional frame rates these days. The camera design and concept looks quite intriguing however. 🤔 External Mic Input ? No audio tests either. Why ? Is the audio Caca ? P.S. Your GF is hot !*
Arthur, HELP! What's with Sony pricing? Just got a Sony A7II w/lens for $1598 on Monday & now they dropped to $1000 6 days later. What a way to Piss off your customers.
I wanna ask you something maybe out of topic but do you know any action camera beside insta 360 that can use invisible stick ? I mean we are in 2023 photos with visible selfie stick is so tacky
It wasn't until the very last few seconds of the video that we heard any sound from the little camera. I guess it has a microphone - is it any good? This clearly is competition for the DJI Pocket Osmo, but maybe a bit more versatile. Can we see a comparison video perhaps?

This is the first news I had even got about this Pocket 3👍👍👍👍
Hope to see it official to the market very soon
Arthur, I like the way you talk/explain everything, because you talk slowly and clear. Since I come from Indonesia but live here in KS. So I can understand clearly what you're talking about. Good job Arthur.
Thank you Arthur. Your reviews are always clear, concise and unbiased.
I'm waiting for dji pocket 3🖐️
Same!!!
Mee too! 😂
Me too!!!
Same here. Hope it can record in 10bit. That's the only reason I haven't bought the pocket 2.
@@rishiraz1993 i hope itll have 1inch sensor 🤪

I hope it could be used as a webcam, with follow mode.
What is the battery life for 4k24?
I have the v2 and am super happy with it. What I wish it had was built in levels for recording audio. Or, at least a way to monitor levels during recording.
Alot of portable cameras wont have that. I have the wireless rhode, so I would prolly use that since it has viewable levels and a jack for headphone monitor
The question I hate asking. Does it record vertically as well?
Whoah - video quality on this camera is WAY better than I thought it would have been. The colors, stabilization, and 4k image are exceptional for the price. I was expecting much more smearing and artifacts. Thx for the review.
The magnetic separate camera which detaches and can be put anywhere sounds great. I'm probably sold.
Wait until DJI releases Pocket 3 next month 🙃
Let's hope it is soon.....
Very informative as usual, thumbs up👍👍👍i am geting one
Not bad. Not bad at all! Looks like a fun little camera to take on vacation or to get some unique angles.
The video samples look great. There are not serious color cast from AWB. That amazes me greatly.
Can you use it as a tracking webcam? The size seems great for this.
It's cool. I really like the remote feature, but definitely going to wait to see what DJI comes out with.

Verrry cute and compact.
I like how well put together . And yeah the Feiyutech thing is also interesting.
Awesome... i used Feiyu Pocket 2 before.. now i upgrade to DJI pocket 2. I am waiting for DJI pocket 3
Same

small but great camera. good review
Amazing review. Image quality looks nice but there are a few scenes where it looked like it was falling apart. Not sure if it was do to sharpness etc. Did you shoot the video sample in log? Thanks again for this review.
I hope it's sales are good enough that it forces DJI to make a Pocket 3 with a one inch sensor.
That would be awesome.
Your audio is perfect. Keep up the good work.

Supposedly the DJI Pocket 3 was going to come out late last year. Then, nothing. I'll believe it when I actually see it on B&H!
4:03 Not sure what the minimum focus distance is on this thing but your girl looks like she was shot with a DJI Osmo Action 3 right here.
Can it record vertical videos?
I have the DJI pocket 1 and was leaning towards the 2 but now I’m sold on the Feiyu
Thanks for sharing this video. How this camera deals with continuous video shootings, does this heat up and stop shooting? Please guide Secondly, can we take photos at 4k? How you will compare this with Dji pocket 2?
Another excellent review, Arthur! How would you compare it to the Insta360 Go 2 and X3?
Its a different animal. Way more simple to use because you get MP4 files straight out of camera and you dont have to edit them for framing.
@@ArthurR Thank you.
I’m actually impressed by the stabilization quality
Especially in low light, a mechanical gimbal is a great alternative to electronic image stabilization. But on the other hand, you don’t have the same level of ruggedness as a classic action cam.
Will the Feiyu Pocket 3 also feature an HDMI output just like the 2nd generation models? In this configuration it would be perfect for multi camera live reports on the go.
I haven’t seen any mentioning of an HDMI port.
Game changer. I am looking at having one.
Thanks for this review!
I have used Feiyu gimbal for Sony rx0 and dji pocket2. Seems like no better image quality than phone camera or action camera. But I love the concept. I hope they launch pro version of it
Noce reviw, nice info, thanks. Anddon't mind me daying, what a cute model you have there :) Congrats
What is the range for the controller?
What about the sound quality???
Light in video is low i think. Loved your review.
This is nice. what about external audio?
I attempted to order it while it was still active!
Does it have HDR video?
There is a very noticable “Stuttering” at 2:28 on the cyclist crossing the road possibly because of high shutter speed. Investing in a set of new ND filters compatible with this camera (if possible and available) will be an added cost
Extra, nice Camera
Good morning
Have a nice day 🖐☕
Greetings Janusz from Warsaw, 🇵🇱 🖐Poland ✌
the section of the bike pass by it look like 10fps and the resolution looked upscaled?
in the sample videos there is allot of jpg distortion more fluid frame rate (part of the picture is blurry)
2:29 looks like vhs filter :D
Very cool little camera
It seems like all the close up stuff is not in focus VS the DJI pocket that will focus.
Does it have a full lock pan and tilt mode?. Dji pocket does not. ( For Dji pocket u have to keep "pressing" the button to maintain the full lock mode which is a stupid design)
Compare it to Pocket 2 plz.
WoW! Those eyes!
Many times I am not sure if you are shooting with the Fei Yu or your Sony alpha with all the cuts. I It would be helpful to see more shots inside with room lighting or using a small led flat panel light
I forgot the super model wife flex in your videos.
Having received my kickstarter one, the remote handle should’ve been included from the start. I haven’t been able to connect to my iPhone. The documentation and other how-to information is severely lacking.
Wait I thought the remote and the camera were together for $199. The kickstarter page doesn’t say anything about buying the remote separately
I made the same mistake, then I wondered what the difference was and read what you get more carefully. You can edit what you ordered, so I changed to the bundle with the remote. For me it's worth it for the extended battery time. I think it will also be easier to use than the camera fastened to a phone.
Same for me, didn’t fully read the list of options 🤦
But “upgrading” to the bundle worked without a problem.
Microphone input? Wireless mic?
Dji is Kicking asses.
What about accessories to mount the camera on a back pack for mobile hands free videos?
It seemed a bit choppy. (I'm not sure if it was the encoding on my end or on the cameras end but I could definitely notice it. )
great quality i liked it get one.
Would be nice to have something like this but with 1 inch sensor.
Can it work when plugged in to some power bank, can it live stream via rtmp?
Interesting 👍🏼 when I 1st saw the screen shot/photo, I was thinking that is was the insta360 links (webcam) … hmm
i have Feiyu Pocket 2 .. and seems this pocket 3 solve all pocket 2 problem.
amazing camera!
How far does it work from phone? Will it work at fpv drone?
In pan mode, errors continue to accumulate. Therefore, I went for after-sales service, but the issue was not resolved.
is there a fish eye effect on this one?
I don’t understand why you would compare this with a GoPro when it’s obvious competition is the DJI pocket
nice idea. for me FOV too wide, sensor too small :D can you mount a mic on the usb-c?
Nice review. I'm wondering, does the gimbal turn 360º continuously or does the turning have a limit?
Can u upload a 60fps sample? thanks. now it's close to pocket 2. but still pocket 2 has upper hand.
Why ? What about the audio? There is nothing on the Kickstarter page either. Why do all the test videos have weird music and no camera audio?
Its not great, as is the case with most small cameras. The clip at the end demonstrates audio.
i didnt hear anything about audio or audio options...
Why do you have this when their Kickstarter says they are not ready to ship yet and backers have not received??
Arthur, HELP! What's with Sony pricing? Just got a Sony A7II w/lens for $1598 on Monday & now they dropped to $1000 6 days later. What a way to Piss off your customers.
Where did you buy it? And more importantly why would you get an A7II? Its not a good camera for that money.
I could buy. But no removable battery=not ecological and bad in field use, if you need more power?
I agree with you. But most things now have built in batteries. I miss the days of swappable batteries in everything.
can it solved the shortcoming of mirco focus esp on food blogging of the Feiyu Pocket 2 which i sold off one month after buying it?
So can this be used as a tiny PTZ Camera?
Can this send video wirelessly ?
Thanks for more information
Those it have built in mic? Can I connect an external wireless mic? How is the audio?
How's the microphone?
Thank you sir...your new subs from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
What about Audio?
Its not great, as seen in that last video clip.
where can I purchase that one? It's handy camera
Am I correct in thinking that this new model still has the pro mode where manual exposure settings are possible?
Yes, it has.
You had me right up until "Kickstarter". I'll wait.
Please compare this with fimipalm 2
Stream cam ok?
Thanks man
How is the audio quality? Any way to use external microphone?
Not great, and no, not at the moment. Unless there is a USBC-audio adapter, but there is nothing in the works as far as I can tell.
I watched carefully and decided it's 70+% from the model!
How about modes. Does it have a smooth mode that follows the direction it is pointing, horizon lock, etc?
How do I purchase this camera looking all over online for it
Check out the kickstarter link. Thats the only place you can buy it at the moment.
I wanna ask you something maybe out of topic but do you know any action camera beside insta 360 that can use invisible stick ? I mean we are in 2023 photos with visible selfie stick is so tacky
Can it overlay day and time stamp onto video ?
It wasn't until the very last few seconds of the video that we heard any sound from the little camera. I guess it has a microphone - is it any good? This clearly is competition for the DJI Pocket Osmo, but maybe a bit more versatile. Can we see a comparison video perhaps?
The microphone isn't great. I dont own the osmo anymore, so Ill let someone else do that comparison.
I mean I can't even open the Osmo app on my phone anymore so my osmo, and drone, are both absolutely useless atm.
