  • Had to use Find my drone after a crash and losing the dji neo while out on a mountain bike ride . Out on another ride trying out Follow me and some manual flight i managed to lose control and crash in some deep baramles. Luckily the find my drone feature on the rcn3 controller works a treat and i soon recovered the drone after some sketchy barbed wire fences were crossed.
    Filmed on the
DJI neo drone fly more combo
    DJI osmo action 3

So far, I love this little drone. If there was one thing I could change, it would be the noise. But it is what it is. Great product for the price. Thanks for the video! Since there will be many new pilots getting the Neo who may not know how to recover it if lost, this will be a helpful video to watch.

Look at getting a new 5 blade prop called Gemfan, while they may not be any less quiet the pitch is much lower and makes it sound much more quiet

@@gregb1599 ive seen these and may be getting some in the coming months to try out. After crashing and damaging a prop i feel i should stock up on spares lol.

@steveoutdoors5964 They are a real pain to fit, as they need either longer screws or a very, very careful drill the holes deeper so that just the screw thread is poking out. I luckily had 2 sets of 4 so I could practice drilling the holes to the right diameter and depth. And don't forget the thread lock!

I had a Mavic Mini 1 for my first proper camera drone and I was out with family and walked around a local lake a few miles away from home, I looked for any hazards and missed a few communication cables spanning across the lake, of course, I hit one of them! The drone recovered and it was all caught on video on my it channel in slow motion, my heart was in my mouth lol. I have also crashed into numerous spikey bushes or tall grasses, but the crashes are getting fewer :). I have the Mini 2 and now the Neo with Goggles N3, Motion Controller 3 and the FPV Controller 3 for when I learn FPV flight :) Happy flying

@@steveoutdoors5964 Yes I have watched a few videos where someone deliberately crashed the Neo onto the grass from 400ft and then onto the concrete and it mostly survived. With NT to be honest I have sometimes taken off and landed when in my view the number of people in there is very low and it is not bird breeding season, I have then gone up to 400ft got my pics, 360 view etc and landed again without any issues, obviously a NT House or mansion is a different matter, but I have flown over some castles when they have closed to the public for the day. I need to edit and post more videos, life has been too busy for my hobby :(

@@woodydroneson yea tell me about it. Making videos takes time. Many people don't realise the work that goes into doing an edit.

I have crashed a Mavic into a hotel by wind gust in Salt Lake, Utah, I have lost a mini 3 pro on top of a building in Portland, Oregon had a mini 3 ran over by a car after auto geo fence landing in Ontario, California and lost a mini 3 near Lake Shasta, Ca WiFi disconnected and lost a brand new neo near same lake, the drones are both close to the road but a steep angles prevents me from looking or getting close, I have tried a couple times however fence forest and lack of trails stops me I have to wait until spring now but am losing faith, I’m not sure how well the drones are made or if they will last for winter? I recommend you learn as much as you can about drone controllers and WiFi strength as much as you can before you fly out of sight, best of the best! ❤

Really enjoy your content. So I assume you are using your mobile phone when you do the shots with a view up high? Kind Regards from Australia.
Edit: ignore my question, wrote it before I saw your controller. Can relate to your videos as I have a Mini 4 Pro, Avata 2 and Neo. I'm 53 years of age myself and I'm really in awe of your fitness level. I wouldn't be capable of the bike riding. Inherited arthritis is slowing me down these days to the point a short walk is pretty significant, so just wanted to tell you, you are really maximising life. I look forward to your future content. 🙂 Kind Regards David

Thank you I really appreciate your kind words.. I'm starting to suffer with joint pain but am determined to keep on doing stuff as long as possible.. I once read a quote that I hope live by "add life to your years not years to your life" . Im at a point in my life where I don't want to look back and think I wish I had done. I am hoping to hike the big fells of the lake district before my 50th and also intend on doing some wild camping along the way. Thanks for watching and commenting. All the best Steve..

And what is that going to cost me? Think I'll just get more time in on the controls. I mean this was only my second time out with it. I'm learning new things all the time. And at least it's a robust drone and can handle the odd crash. Thanks for watching
