I could watch these videos all day long.I really like the dissonant and alien scales and notes he plays.Nice legato. It's well known that Allan Holdsworth was an influence,
i dunno about scales, this sounds like a lot of trying to find stuff aka playing freely whatever and trying to make it fit a song, which is what songwriting is a lot of times, especially in metal
Yes it's a green dot.... the universes and a couple of others were the only well built 7 strings at the time... they talked about how embarrassing it was having to play with guitars flowers all over the neck lol
I don't think this solo establishes any sense of tonality either. And we can reduce the new stuff to tapping, same as we could reduce his older solos to chromatic runs... but we would be missing rhythm, texture, form etc. Personally I think both types of solo are very unique of his and very challenging
@@Meshuggapeth i am HUGE fan of Meshuggah since 1995 so i have the right to be disappointed by his latest guitar work. he is one my favorite guitarists and a big influence of mine. but my criticism on his solos especially on Immutable is negative.
I agree. I miss his fusion metal solos. Sol Niger within may be his best work. The atonal tapping is ok but its used too much. Hey at least he provided some solos on Immutable instead of sitting it out completely
It's absolutely insane that Fredrik was playing like this at 24! Total genius.
I love you forever for posting these!
Love you too buddy. Keep your face out of your ears for some more !
We

So weird seeing Fredrik without facial hair.
Man he already had chops way back in the day!
He's always had chops. The final take used on Gods Of Rapture is one of his best solos
These videos are actually gold

@@neonblack211 Seems like they could've used a lesson in secure masculinity from Steve Vai.
@@zendakk and now there are metalheads playing pink Hello Kitty Strats for the lols.

Wow he's REALLY influenced by Allan Holdsworth. It's almost like I'm listen to Allan play.
wtf is with the all the dislikes? jesus christ. lol
The hell do u mean
dont think ur readn that ha..considering they took that counter away straight up
This is sickening to watch
i miss that Holdsworthian style. His solos on late albums kinda suck...just atonal tapping non sense. I wonder why he have chosen that path
