Thanks Nathan, the new tripod came today! It only took 3 days, that's pretty good I think. It is so nice and works perfectly as you said it would. On a side note I am left handed an it is fine, no worries at all to work it. I would 100% recommend this tripod to anyone. It's plenty high enough as well, I'm about 5.9 feet tall and it's way bigger than I need. Thanks again.
Thanks for this Nathan. It's just the sort of thing I need to replace the old modified surveyors tripod I've been using on the range for more than 20 years that weighs almost as much as my wheelchair. Please keep doing what you do (especially to foxes and cats.
I have used a few tripods and looking at the design and features of this unit, you have honestly covered all the short comings of all the other units I have used and own. Absolutely bloody masterpiece mate, well done
I'm a shooter - 35mm SLRs 😉 I was also a very serious hand-gunner. Gitzo are my tri-pods of choice for the SLRs but I can ever so easily recognise the amazing feature set of this tri-pod. Am pondering a new air-based shooting system to deal with hares and mistletow and this tri-pod just reeks of appeal. Great presentation.
I have purchased several my self some of the ones that work the best get heavy quick I have used single stick double stick tripod screw on rest lay on rest and clamps the clamps are nice but add weight
You mentioned getting spun around to the wrong side of the tripod when this got a little frenzied. I see that you rest the palm of your hand on one of the legs attachment points to locate your fingers on the clamping lever. Just a thought... What if the feel of that area of that leg was different to the other two legs in that area of your palm for quick identification in the dark/ heat of the moment? Texture...Shape.... something like that? Browny.
Thank you for sharing experiences and knowledge. Excellent the tripod Sunwayfoto EGE of the OUTBACK. I like tripods, I currently use Really Right Stuff Anvil-30 ARC ballhead on my Leofoto LM-363C tripod. Regards
Looks bloody good mate, very competitively priced for the specs too. Know a few mates currently in the market for tripods so I'll tell them to give these a look 👍👍
I have a few questions related to cold weather use. Do the feet have ice spikes? Do the legs stick or bind while being extended/collapsed in wet weather below freezing? (Ice buildup on porous materials) Do the legs bend outwards when setting the tripod up through crusty snow? This question is hard to describe to those who have never experienced this particular scenario. As the legs puncture the snow crust before settling on what ground is below (10 cm or more), the holes in the snow crust will be of a lower diameter than the final diameter leg spread at ground level causing the legs to bend or bind on the snow crust. Rigid and secure leg joints are a must. Obviously the reason for these questions relate to the mostly snow and icy weather during our coyote season.
Love the new tripod, just thinking with your haz tape for reflection to help locate it. Have you thought of a air tag? Just an idea, don't know how they would go when out of phone service though.
A huge amount of where I'm at is no service unfortunately. That and the tape is handy at shorter range in the head light too. Great idea though with an air tag.
What other invasive predators exist in Australia, aside from the ones you deal with? What do you think of the rumors of panthers or cougar sightings, is there any evidence for big cats like that living wild in Australia?
Hi I'm just 2metres tall will they have enough adjustment as at the moment I am using a surveyor's tripod as that was the only thing high enough for me and it does not take long to get very heavy quick
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK I run the IB-65 ball head on my tripod, swapped it for a RRS BH40 great piece of kit much easier than faffing about with 2 or 3 different knobs, might be worth you selling it as a separate unit, they’re becoming popular!?
Depends on the location, but it's roughly and additional $80 for international postage. If you email me an address I can see if that's accurate for you though. I'm not out to make money on postage and costs do vary.
Actually, I have a fella on my Patreon who just got his today, and he's left handed. He's very happy with it so it seems they work alright. Good to confirm that as I had no idea.

*EDGE of the OUTBACK* Bravo well done, thank-you sir for taking the time to show us this tripod. GOD Bless.
Thanks for watching!

Awesome, thank you!
I'm sure the graphite helps alleviate the greasy kfc fingers touching the tripod too 😂
😂
The greasy KFC fingers could be used to lubricate the ball in a pinch should it start to bind up.
Definitely helps with the lubrication. 😅😅😅
I’m sold as soon as my new rifle comes in I’ll be getting one. I’ve been looking at a lot of tripods and that one ticks all the boxes
Thanks for recommending this awsome looking tripod . Just purchased one from your website.
Really appreciate it mate 👍
Always great Info Thanks Nathan Now get some shooting videos UP 👌👍👍
It's definitely one nice piece of kit.
My wish list gets longer......
Awesome rig......ive been playing with tripods for just over a year.......love them

They work well with the camera's too.
great, but didn't expect less of you, you're an engineer, good for you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cracking tripod and video explanation, thanks Nathan 👍😊
Pretty comprehensive and informative review Nathan, well done!
Thank you kindly!
They look really good mate! 👌
Thank you! Cheers!

Yes. That's why he's added the rubber grip to one leg only.

Very cool!
Have researched tripods but not currently in the market for one, however this looks the goods & is very competitively priced. Well done you. 👍
Cheers mate 👍
Awesome nath, Will definitely be purchasing one in the near future 👍🏼
Bloody awesome mate, I’m keen for a look at ya new tripod. Congrats it looks great 👍
Thanks 👍

Appreciate it mate.... they work well.... go on buy one, run it on the 50cal for bragging rights.
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK my leofoto already has a chip out of its picatinny clamp from the 50, might have to see if these hold up any better 😆
@stuartgillahan that's a lot of force on a slim picatinny. Wonder of the broader Arca Swiss would hold up better for that.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK I did think that exact thing after I did it 😅😅
Ah... I see you have done that with the foam pad. I should have just kept watching 😄
Yep, covered 😎
Great product Nathan thanks for sharing 🦘
Well now, you had my interest but now you have my attention 😮
I love there tripods I own one and it’s very nice mine is the T3240CS from Fox Optics got it in a kit
Very nice
very good nice sharing my bos.....
Looks fantastic. Just got to save up!
.................G'day Nathan,
I recke'n one of those would fix my camera, I've broken 3 already.
Cheers and God-bless
Malcolm.
bloody plastic I think, "cam locks that broke" and too thin. I love the mods.
Bravo!! Just bought a saddle clamp.
Fantastic!
Definitely going to grab one my self 👍
I'll have more stock in about a week.

Do the feet have ice spikes?

The tripods come with SS spike feet also. As for thick snow use, sorry, it's not that cold here to test.
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK Thanks, Nate!
I can add on reading your comments that the legs and attachments are very solid with hardly any flex. I don't think they'd open wider in snow at all.
Nice mate, will get one in near future
Looks good.
Maybe some sort of spike on feet of tripod for slippery terrain 🤔
They come with those in SS, you just swap out the rubber.
Well covered and explained thanks mate
Glad it helped
These look great mate

Looks like an awesome bit of kit mate (pitty is does not come with a hook to hand ya KFC) 😁
For shooting pigeons in the rafters, how tall is this at maximum? Does it allow for a reasonable angle without having to stoop too low?
Sure does 👌
Looks very nice
Looks great mate, I'd to get the saddle clamp too but it says you're out of stock. Any idea when you'll have more in stock?
Hopefully just a few days, they are already inbound!
Shit hot tripod mate 👌 looks expensive but there again you get what you pay for.....I want one
Hi Nathan, when do you think you'll have them back in stock??
About 3 weeks 🤞. Or Hunt the Night still has them now 💪
What is the full hight to the arker attached at full extension please... I only 5 .9 but don't want to have to stoop over to shoot
All the specifications are on my webpage. I'm 5'11", and there's heaps of excess length.
What other invasive predators exist in Australia, aside from the ones you deal with? What do you think of the rumors of panthers or cougar sightings, is there any evidence for big cats like that living wild in Australia?
I have not seen any panthers mate, cougars yes. They are at my kids school every morning.

Yes, this will do that easily. I'm 178cm and there's about 30cm more on the lower leg that I don't extend.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK thank you
Fanbloodytastic 😎
Similar to vortex switch back
Similar, but a larger ball head.
Super keen to buy one of these. When might they be back in stock?
Hopefully mid June I'll have a much larger order arriving.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK beautiful, cheers 🙂
what safari sling have you got on your gun there mate?
Moroka 30 one 👍
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK legend cheers. love ya videos too mate keep up the good work 🤙
Does the rain make the graphite powder gummy?
Not that I've noticed. Still running the same tripod and it's been wet and dusty heaps of times.

Hello Nathan can you just buy the ball head because I already have the tripod. Thanks 🤙
No sorry, it's an integrated head system. That's why the ball is so large, yet the tripod isn't 4kg.
I'm a self confessed tripod snob with a Really Right Stuff TVC-33 and BH-50 ballhead, and this setup of yours looks very impressive and well priced.
Cheers mate, they RRS is definitely premium gear.
How much shipped to nz?
Depends on the location, but it's roughly and additional $80 for international postage.

could you send one to the uk?
I've already sent three from the last batch to the UK, so that's a yes.....
Looks a lot like s Miller tripod.
Is this a vipertek ct3 tripod that has your name on it or is there a difference?
I reviewed the Vipertek, and they are very different tripods.
I'm immediately going home to weigh my current tripod.
How'd you go with the weight
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK I haven't had the opportunity, and the online merchant I purchased it from doesn't list its weight.
6.6 pounds, 3 KG. My apologies for the delay.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK
Would have jumped on it but being 2m 165cm isn’t quite gonna cut it unfortunately :(
6ft 7in, very tall indeed.
Don't forget when you do consider heights that the rifle and scope is a fair bit above that 65" height.
Have to let bucket put his 65 creed###e on one yet 😂😂😂
Sad fact, yes !!!
Your a Tripod mate!
If only 😆
Pfft' 165 cm height...do you have a man size one in the works??
....... so
what you're saying is ..........
THIS is not for LEFT HANDED shooters.

I was just thinking about
the context/location of the 1-Rubber leg `custom add-on´ 😁
I'm left handed and I get it on with it very well.
