Great shooting as ever. Made a few animal friends too. Are you guys allowed semi auto .22s?. That's makes the job a wee bit easier for us here in the uk.
A semi - auto is great for rabbit hunting . I use a suppressed ERMA EM 1 in that purpose with a 10 rds magazine . But I love my CZ 452 bolt action rifle too . Unfortunately , my CZ is the first model ( 1947 ) and can’t be suppressed and can be used only on large private properties .
I notice people are now using lever release semi autos in Australia. This is possibly a superior mechanism in the darkness - a little more control. A pump action better still..
@@KolyaNickD The semi auto offers less recoil than a bolt action rifle . It’s good for double tap ’cause you stay on the target . It’s useful in case of multiple targets too .
I've seen those rifles with the thumb release cycle. I'll take accuracy over speed any day of the week. Interesting idea though. As for pump actions they fit poorly with a thermal unfortunately.
Everyone overlooks that little .22 LR. You'll hear about the .270, .280, 5.56, and blah blah blah. Meanwhile, the .22 long just keeps on going. Keep it within its performance envelope and it will perform as well as anything. Just ask the rabbits.
*Permission to ask a stupid question 🙋... When you're hunting wild dogs/cats, rabbits etc. Do you have to remove/dispose of the dead animals from each area or is that up to property owners? Great channel, keep em coming mate!
Hi, I shoot a .22lr with the same ammo. I find it hard to hit anything past about 50m because of the bullet drop. Can I ask what distance you zero the scope at? And how do you practice holding over?
Me too, at 30M the bullets are key holing. BRNO model 2. 70M I hold over, 25M I hold under. Beyond 70M it's pot luck with the same hold over scoring a good kill or a total miss. It gets frustrating.
@@JohnWilliams-iw6oq Yeah I hold over the amount I think I need to, and miss. And it's damn hard to see if I'm above or below - often the ground is soft, so no dust plumes. So I don't bother shooting much over 50m now. Also, I don't have thermal gear, just a conventional torch, so it's hard to get in close in the more open areas.
Put a target up and zero at 50 yds. put one at 25, 75 and 100 and shoot 5 shot groups, it should show you where to aim. BTW the 50 is up to you, I used to do most of my shooting at 50 or less when pest controlling. A scope with mill dot reticle helps too.
50m bang on zero and know your points of aim. A ballistic chart can tell you a lot. Remember these rounds are a similar speed and velocity to what the 22 NRL and PRS guys run out to 200m. Just need to know the ballistics 👌
@@davidblake8612 I shoot of an evening as the light is fading. Purely for pest control because I gas the warrens but the buggers keep coming in from next door where nothing gets done.
I can't believe the rabbits were allowed to get so far out of control. The country must be riddled with rabbit holes all perfect for breaking horses legs.
Food and lack of predators is all a rabbit needs, look up breeding rates of rabbits you might be surprised. You do you know there’s a saying… ‘they breed like rabbits’ don’t you?

I notice people are now using lever release semi autos in Australia. This is possibly a superior mechanism in the darkness - a little more control. A pump action better still..
@@KolyaNickD The semi auto offers less recoil than a bolt action rifle . It’s good for double tap ’cause you stay on the target . It’s useful in case of multiple targets too .
I've seen those rifles with the thumb release cycle. I'll take accuracy over speed any day of the week. Interesting idea though. As for pump actions they fit poorly with a thermal unfortunately.
Great shooting Nathan. Thanks for the video.
Not a problem Oliver 👌
Everyone overlooks that little .22 LR. You'll hear about the .270, .280, 5.56, and blah blah blah. Meanwhile, the .22 long just keeps on going. Keep it within its performance envelope and it will perform as well as anything. Just ask the rabbits.
That's it 👌
He doesn’t leave any witnesses…
Awwwww give him a cuddle 🤗… Good horse. Nice shooting.👍😃🍻
He had plenty of attention, spoilt thing 😂
*Permission to ask a stupid question 🙋...
When you're hunting wild dogs/cats, rabbits etc. Do you have to remove/dispose of the dead animals from each area or is that up to property owners? Great channel, keep em coming mate!
That answer depends on the property. Generally they are left out of sight or the farmer puts them in a hole (larger animals)
I was wondering the same thing.
Gee mate, I'm happy to get 10 rabbits in a session now! Mixo has devastated usually reliable spots. Great work.
Happy New Years all. Thanks Very much for Replying to me on New Years Mate. Your Videos are Great and Very Much Appreciated.
Hope you had a great night 🍻
I can't believe the rabbits were allowed to get so far out of control. The country must be riddled with rabbit holes all perfect for breaking horses legs.
Just perfect conditions/season and location. Lots of hedge rows and cover for them. That a buildings and logs etc to warren around and under.
You're not a farmer or pastoralist are you T Bone ?
Food and lack of predators is all a rabbit needs, look up breeding rates of rabbits you might be surprised. You do you know there’s a saying… ‘they breed like rabbits’ don’t you?
Nice work again Nathan, plenty of Rabbit pie doing the rounds then !
Thanks for keeping us entertained during these odd times & lets see more of it 2022
Enjoy the New Year celebrations, if there are going to be any. Not sure what will be happening here in the UK, but I doubt that we will be watching the Ashes🤔🤔😷😱😱.
Keep safe folks & all the best.
Yeah it'll be a quiet night for us too I'd say.
I'd be eating alot of rabbits
lovely shot placement gents pleasure to watch
Cheers mate
I absolutely love your videos. This is a session we can only dream about here in Blighty. I thought I was doing well with 25 Rabbits and 12 Hares recently. LOL Keep it up. 🙂
That's still a good session mate 👌
Best of the New Year! Top shelf marksman and filming, always enjoy watching your channel and your skill on both levels.
Appreciate it David 👍
Well done guys, excellent marksmanship

G'day! Going to watch this before heading out for Boxing Day shenanigans. Looks good so far - and cracking shooting.
Have fun 🍻
Nice shooting. It's great to see you included the missus.
A few misses, anyone that says they don't on small game is full of 💩
Good old .22, still knocking them down.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅✅✅✅✅
That's it 👌
Great shooting and yes a great round 22lr, and it's just as good as many bigger rounds and the main it's not bothered with the wind good shooting and a great video.

Amazing Nathan! Merry Christmas to you and your family Mate.

Interesting to see an example of ricochet and how much of an angle it can deviate from the main shot
