    Thank you so much for making this video. People need to know about these types of harnesses. Not only did it make life easier for my "Buddy", but it enhanced his quality of life for his last year with me. (He was 18)- He loved to ride and this gave me the ability to take him with me. Toward the end, his vision failed and he was unable to go up and down the 2 stairs to go outside. Not a problem, he knew I was there for him. I'd just grab the handle and give him a boost in or out. Now, I have Abbie (profile pic). She was abandoned the 1st day she was born. She's smart, but never really learned how to jump well or navigate tall stairs (she's taken a couple of tumbles and is not graceful at all) . She's only 4, but this type of harness gives me peace of mind (and her confidence) when we travel or have to deal with stairs). Thanks again.

    Thank you for this great video and live demo review. My tall rescued hound, now turning 15, is having mobility and coordination issues, and your input has helped me make up my mind to buy the Help'em Up Harness. I'm very sorry for your loss. of Duke. He was clearly a great dog.

    We used the help-em- up harness for our golden retriever. It was the best investment we ever made. We began using it for her when she was 15, and she regained her mobility. Pumpkin lived until she was almost 20 years old. It made a huge difference in her quality of life. We utilized the front and back harness, and she would not even attempt to get up without it on. It gave her so much confidence. I agree with your assessment. I wish I could post a photo of her wearing it. She acted regal with it on. The feature that was most helpful was the double handle. Our dog had front and rear mobility issues as she aged and this was such a great help. My husband easily assisted her in and out of the car.

    We received the Help Em Up Harness after our dog had spinal cord surgery for IVDD. The back-end support has been essential in his recovery. As a border collie, he is also an active breed and I'm sure that both harnesses would help keep him safe... The rear-end support has been good, as he thinks he can walk, but is only about 60-70% there so far. I also like the rubberized handles on the back and hips area. I can lift my 50 pound dog easily and ensure that he doesn't hurt himself while he's recovering. I also had purchased a WalkAbout harness prior to realizing that I would receive a HelpEmUp. I returned it, but it seemed like it was also a nice product. It would have only been about $40, compared to the $100 HelpEmUp which was included in our bill I'm sure.

      +Anne Dafchik That's great to hear. We've been finding more and more uses for these harnesses since we've published the video. For example, our Husky, Leo is afraid to walk on slippery surfaces. Since he's about 60+ pounds, we use the harness to help carry him across the floor rather than picking him up!

    We have the help em Udo harness and using the complete harness is a job to put on but beneficial all in all.. seriously thinking about the Ruff wear product as well..does seem to be sturdier now that out puppy is finally walking thank God ...still working on strengthening the rear legs and the Ruff Wear would be an added benefit until he is completely confident in his abilities..thanks for sharing this

    Ruffwear Pallisades is awesome it's like that one with a removable pack that comes with water bottles. I became closer to my dog now that he carries my snacks and water for me on the hikes

    I bought both the Help Em Up/Webmaster for my 12 year old Aussie last year. The Webmaster was a pain to put on. He really didn't like wearing either so we never used them. He was diagnosed with cancer 3/12/16 and I put him down on 3/15/16. I immediately got another Aussie puppy on 3/18/16. Once he was big enough we tried the Help Em Up and it worked well and then he ate it. Now he is 9 months old I bought another Help Em Up harness front half only because they are so easy to put on and adjust. I also really like the handle better as well on the Help Em Up. I like to assist him in and out of my Jeep just to avoid injury. Thanks for the review.

    Im a cat person myself, but i must say that Duke & Leo are really great looking dogs! Im still amazed at the fact that i've only recently discovered your channel--you guys are deff one of my faves on UA-cam (and I follow all of the "upper crust" Rv channels)! Cheers and continue being safe out there!

      Wow thank you for that amazing compliment! We're working on trying to make the videos better all the time.
      Unfortunately Duke passed away a few weeks into this trip. We made a tribute video for him if you haven't seen it.

      Ha! This is such a great video featuring duke & his diff harness's! The reason why Im watching every last one of you videos is two fold: 1) I remember subbing you in late Dec of 2015, and im looking for that vid 2) I love history, and I want to see your vids before you reached "Superstar" status!

    I just found you through web searching. I read your first book. On your second book. I was wondering what happened to Duke. I can't find anything about him anymore. I love Leo - don't get me wrong ( big animal lover and just got a new furbaby, Marley.) This is the only video I have found that I see Duke in.

    • @Weretherussos
      @Weretherussos  3 роки тому

      In the book, we had to put Duke down. We weren’t really making videos yet so that’s why you don’t see him.

    Hi, we have a GSD and he is 11 years and 6 months old. He has become very weak these days and barely walks. Moreover we live on second floor and it becomes very difficult for him or for us to take him down through stairs (no lift in our building).
    Will this harness support a dog while climbing up or going down the stairs?

    • @Weretherussos
      @Weretherussos  5 років тому

      Yes, but you will have to walk alongside your dog to support him.

    Had purchased the help em up and was not impressed. The Ruffwear harness is more durable, easier to fit, and feels more substantial when lifting dog.
    Front portion of help em up fit my dog but rear was too big. Mind you, customer service recommended the M after sharing measurements and weight. customer service (K9 carts) was not helpful.

    This harness was great for the entire 3-4 months I used it for a TPLO. Got it out a few years later for the second TPLO and the snaps at the shoulders come unsnapped with her weight which is very dangerous when lifting her. Now the company won't support it since I have had it longer than a year. $115 divided by 4 months of use = $29 per month. ARGHHHHH

    • @wetdewlap8741

      Ohhh what I would do to pay only 29 dollars a month for peace of mind for my DM shepherd. Lol

      the help'em up harness is a horrible design, these reviews are leading people to buy an inferior harness. my experience was even worse
