Ruffwear Harness Fit Comparison Web Master, Flagline, and Switchbak

Trying to figure out how the new Ruffwear Switchbak harness fits compared to the Web Master or Flagline? In this short video, I demonstrate how the size small harnesses fit on my 40-pound dog, Glia.

I‘ve been wanting a small backpack for my XS dog and Ruffwear only had the Webmaster Pro, that I didn’t like at all and the Approach Pack, that just has too big pockets.
I will definitely try out this new Switchbak harness and I hope, my pup likes it!

Useful! :) A small comment: 4:21 it seems to be adjusted incorrectly - the harness strap should go above shoulder bone, cause now it'll restrict the movement during pulling ;) So basically the harness should sit higher under her neck

You're right! Thank you for noticing. I will have to tighten up the collar area of that harness to help the strap stay above her shoulder joint.

This was very helpful, thank you for making this video.
I was going to purchase the Flagline today, but after seeing how the 3rd strap isn't free to extend, it will not work.
I really need a front clip because my Whippet pulls so much, but not at the cost of her possibly backing out of it.
Do you possibly have any other brands that you'd suggest I look into? Thanks

Hi! Honestly, I haven't tried a lot of other brands with the third strap design. But if you don't mind the thicker back and the pockets of the Switchbak harness, you will get a front clip with a similar fit compared to the Web Master. The width of the front strap is a little wider on the Switchbak compared to the Web Master though, which may be a consideration for a Whippet.

I can't decide between the switchbak and the singletrak. I wish there was a good side-by-side comparison of the two, comparing the amount of storage space and bulk for each.

That would be helpful. I don't have the SingleTrak pack, but it does seem similar to the Switchbak in capacity. Good luck with your decision.

@@pawsitivelyintrepid I thought the switchbak was designed to be even more compact than the singletrak, with smaller pockets. that was the only reason I wasn't sure if I wanted that one. but I saw on their website that the switchbak is actually rated for more capacity so that made it a no brainer

Does anyone know if a small ball would fit in the Switchbak harness pocket?

I just checked. A regular tennis ball fits in a size small Switchbak pocket.

I can't decide between front range and webmaster for my pug. He is big for a pug and loves to hike.

I almost always recommend the webmaster over the front range. But pugs tend to have short bodies, so the webmaster might a little long for a male pug, depending on where he falls in the size range. If he is on the edge of two sizes, you might be able to buy the smaller one and get a good fit with the webmaster.

Without knowing the measurements of your pug, I am just guessing. But I really like the Flagline for most hikes.
