    My whippet wears a webmaster on a daily basis as an in-training therapy dog for patients, however I was looking at the flagline for more hotter days for hikes and frisbee sessions. Your comparison video was exactly what I was looking for as far as features and sizing. It was a bonus that your dog is the same size as my whippet in helping me to determine the appropriate fit. Much Thanks!!

    Just to say thank you so much for the video! We were trying to decide between the two harnesses for our Patterdale Terrier who has recently had a cruciate ligament op, as when he's back to normal exercise we want to be able to lift him safely if we're out on the moors or mountains. Your video was exactly what we needed make our decision - we've chosen the Flagline! Thank you!! Your dog is very well behaved too! Becky

    Just commented on your other video, glad I could see this comparison/in-depth demonstration of the harnesses. Glad I ordered the Flagline! We're in the south so it only gets cold for a.. a couple weeks haha. I like the openness of the flagline and the front clip for training.

    Hi. This was helpful. We have an English Springer 6 month old pup, and she pulls (though she's getting better). We're currently using a Freedom No Pull harness. It makes for a better walk, but it's a pain to put on. Also, I'm not sure what to think of the dual attachment leash connection (back & chest) that it requires. I'm unclear as to whether Ruffwear requires a similar type leash with the two leads. Or do you just attach the leash to the chest (for the pullers). Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated. I like the look of both harnesses. (I'm in Virginia, so it gets warmer here.)

    • @pawsitivelyintrepid
      @pawsitivelyintrepid  3 роки тому +3

      English Springers are adorable! Personally, I just use one leash attachment point at a time, but you could use a dual leash if you wanted. The Flagline does shift a little to the side when a dog pulls on the front attachment point. So it is important to pair a leash attached to the front clip with good training so your dog isn't pulling sideways during the whole walk. But it works well for us to switch to the front clip during training sessions and then use the back attachment point for most hikes.

    Really helpful video! It seems that the Flagline handle sits further back than it does on the Webmaster. If that is the case, is there any noticeable difference in lifting with one vs the other?

    • @pawsitivelyintrepid
      @pawsitivelyintrepid  Рік тому

      I think the Flagline lifts a little better just because of the solid belly panel. But I don't notice much difference is balance when lifting. Hope that helps.

    This is sooo helpful! How much does Glia weight and how tall is she to the withers? it would be AMAZING if you could tell me the lenght of the chest strap of the flagline! My dog has a really "wierd" body shape, and I would really like to know exactly how long the chest strap is!

    • @pawsitivelyintrepid
      @pawsitivelyintrepid  4 роки тому +1

      Sure! Glia weighs 40 pounds and is about 20.5 inches tall. The length of the chest piece (from the "collar" area to the first strap behind the armpits) is about 9 inches. For reference, it is about 8 inches on the Web Master. Hope that helps and thank you for your comment. I certainly feel your pain with having a dog with a "weird" body shape. Glia's chest is a lot deeper than most other dogs her weight.

    • @alejandrafariasrueda3728
      @alejandrafariasrueda3728 4 роки тому

      @@pawsitivelyintrepid Thank you! This is a lot of help! Do you mean 9 inches (on the flagline), from the top of the collar area to the end of the first strap (the beginning of the belly panel) or the edge that is closest to the armpit? I'm sorry for bothering you with this, but since I can't try the harness on before buying, I want to make sure it's a good fit!

    • @pawsitivelyintrepid
      @pawsitivelyintrepid  4 роки тому +1

      The 9 inches is from the top of the collar area to the front of the first strap. If you want the entire panel measurement, I can definitely measure that when I get home tonight.

    Hi, this is a great video. I was hoping to ask you what your dog weighs and what her girth measurements was for the webmaster that meant you bought the small. Our pup is 55cm so in between the Xsmall and Small so we are torn which to buy.

    • @pawsitivelyintrepid
      @pawsitivelyintrepid  4 роки тому +3

      At the time we purchased the Web Master, Glia's girth measurement was about 68.5 cm. So she was on the border between sizes also. Sizing down, the only problem I had was the chest piece didn't expand quite far enough to give her a lot of space behind her armpits (she never has had any rubbing issues though and she does have a deep chest). The other straps all extended far enough to fit her well. The size small Flagline is perfect for her, however.
      My other dog, Sasha, is a lot smaller and was about 41 cm around her girth. We sized her up to the XS in the Web Master. The sized up Web Master fits her well, although the sized up Flagline is a little too large around her neck.
      Ruffwear's official recommendation on the Webmaster is to choose the smaller size when in-between sizes. For the Flagline, the official recommendation is to choose the larger size. Hope that helps!

    I am looking for a harness that would allow me to pick her up quickly by the handle or leash in case of emergency while hiking. Do either of these fit that scenario?
    I have a harness right now that just contact on the neck and front shoulders so if I were to pick her up by that handle it would put all the weight of her body on her front armpits/shoulders

    • @pawsitivelyintrepid
      @pawsitivelyintrepid  Рік тому

      Both of these harnesses work for me to pick up my dogs briefly while hiking. The Web Master is a little more secure, but potentially more uncomfortable as it has the belly strap further back. The Flagline has a solid belly panel, which is more comfortable, but it is less secure. I have used the handle on the Flagline to help my dog get out of the river on a steep bank and the harness slid forward quite a bit. I worry that it could slide off over her head with enough pull (although that has never happened for us).
      For a video comparison of using the handles for a lift and assist, check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/uRKWZii9xnc/v-deo.html
      Hope that helps!

    Hi, thank you for the video, can i ask you, what you feel stronger for a american staffordshire terrier, we do hiking and he is a little crazy so i need a strong harness if i have to lift him up.
    Thanks for the video again! i will subscribe now!

    • @pawsitivelyintrepid
      @pawsitivelyintrepid  3 роки тому +3

      Thank you for subscribing! Between these two harnesses, the Web Master is a little heavier with slightly thicker straps. And there is one less buckle. So it is probably stronger. But honestly, both are holding up very well for me and I don't hesitate to lift my 40-pound dog in either of the harnesses. Hope that helps.
